#68 A quick find, only a couple left in the series but with fading light it is the end of our adventure for the day. TFTC
First up, many thanks to CO for this series of caches. I am visiting my sister who lives near Guildford. Today, I had the chance to go caching as she had appointments all morning. I decided to hunt for this series, and this was the first I found. Even without the hint, I knew where to look, and I soon had CIH, log signed, and all returned in its hidey hole. Then it was off to the next one.
Glad I had my gumboots on. More for the slitheries than the sloppies. Certainly helped! Thanks AussieTrainDriver for your fantastic efforts and for contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails, Deanside
Visiting the Maldon area today with Bogonghazy. Quick find. Thanks for placing the geocache
Another find with LittleBoss2 and Geo the puppy. Thanks again Team Ninja, nice hide
A short trip up to Maldon and Heathcote this weekend grabbing a few caches on the way.Rode the rail trails this morning, firstly towards Castlemaine, and then Maldon going north west. All the cache were there, but most need some TLC. Mostly wet logs and damaged containers. You have done well to find the remains of the old railway line. Thanks, Robmc.
TFTC nice easy find. Last for the day. Back to Avoca for a homemade green curry
An unusual situation for us instead of being in lovely warm Queensland we are hiding around cold old Victoria. Medical reasons and caravan repairs have us staying here and we will be looking forward to finding as many caches as possible while we are here. SL TFTC
On a day trip to Maldon and this was the last one for today.
Drove around to it and managed to park with 5 metres, which was a lot closer than I thought last night when looking at the area. Cache was found without issue and the log was soon signed.
Thanks again Team Ninja.....look forward to another trip to finish off the area.

I spent a while peering into the gloom, before the doof doof of a passing helicopter distracted me & brought back recent memories........ Back to the job in hand, I quickly spotted the cache. Many thanks
Quick drive by find - no muggles to worry about this morning; log was a little damp but still serviceable. TFTC

Nice find if you happen to be in the area - interesting history following an historic railway track (now gone) although I only stopped to find this cache not the whole series. Tftc!
Found this morning. Part of a great series that highlights an important piece of history of the area.
quick and easy find with catherinec19 the cache was a lil wetty but everything seemed in good nick. tftc
quick and easy find with tytaylor19!!! cache was a little wetty but super fun and nice hide. tftc
Caching in the area we were able to finish off the SL series after running out of time on our last visit here. Starting backwards we worked our way down to Floodway, enjoying the remnants of the old abandoned railway that each cache had to show us.
Thanks AussieTrainDriver for highlighting this historic railway line.

I seam to stumbled into a competing GPS based game. One that has living purple smile
Heading south for the St. Arnaud event next month. Day 60 of our trip. Caching along the way. A total of 13 caches for the day and 1704
for the trip. TFTC

A much cooler morning in Maldon after much rain overnight. We thought to find some more of the SL series before we head home to Wangaratta. This was next on our list yesterday but the rain beat us, so back today to capture it. SL at 9am Left: mermaid PT who loves to swim wherever there is some water. #6184 TFTC AussieTrainDriver
Maryborough to Maldon staying at Butts Reserve
After setting up camp we decided to begin the SL trail starting from the end.
We glimpsed many sections of the abandoned railway line. Enjoyed our day travelling the country side.
Thanks for placing this cache AussieTrainDriver

On a well earned break in Castlemaine and I’m spending the time just touring the whole area, enjoying the sites and picking up caches as I go.
Back on better roads now you can see where the line cut through here.
Thanks Team_Ninja TFTC TFTS.

TFTC and for sharing the history of this particular Rail Line. Er had completed some of the SL series caches from the Maldon end a week or so ago. Being a nice day for a drive we decide to complete the series , starting form this end . We could then circle from Maryborough to Maldon and then back to Maryborough without having to do any back tracking.=For the most part we found the caches without too much drama. One of the multis gave us a bit of trouble, more of that in the log for that particular cache. A great series and worthy of a favorite from us.
Good quick find as we did the tracks around Maldon collecting caches to add to the list. TFTC
On a day out with Wozzle68 and MazzyMay with the idea of getting the 100 for the month. At the start of the day we thought we would be fighting the rain but as the day went on it turned out to be OK . TFTC.
Maldon was the target for today's caching foray in the company of Wozzle68 and Dippa46, we had a wonderful day investigating the area, getting a lot of exercise, more than necessary in some cases, but fun nevertheless. Really enjoying the series. TFTC
Caching the Maldon area today with MazzyMay and Dippa46 trying to chalk up a few virtual souvenirs. The rain threatened to spoil our day early on but soon cleared up and turned into a great day for it. Thanks for the hide AussieTrainDriver!
Nice easy find here - one of the scouts had it in hand before I got out of the car!
Thanks

Gps is just trying to make things hard today! Directing me to the other side of the road....

A trip to Maldon, in our geoute, to attend the Annual Swap Meet, have a look in the shops and do some caching. Even attended the monthly market that was on today. FUF009 came with us for the day.
As we have done the three caches in town we had to do, it is now time to do this trail before heading for home.
The last one on this trail to do which turned out to be another quick find. The old railway line sure is very interesting - so much history in the area.

Over Lannecoorie way today and I decided on a few caches on the way home. What a great little series. Beautiful country roads, colour birds everywhere and a bright blue sky. Many thanks for the caches
From the 'Twin Bridges' cache,
I discovered the short cut to this cache
You can actually drive to the 'Twin Bridges' from north or south in a car !!
But you cannot get across the creek to make a through road.
On a pushbike you can
So ... saved from a long detour,
I soon wobbled me way to this crossing of the line,
and a quick cache find
And that's that !!
I've tackled all the caches in the series
With only 3 DNF's !! [:o]
Thanks for the fun,
and excellent history to go with each cache Team Ninja [^]
I dropped off "Muggin' Oggin Molley" TB here !!

Suscoe headed north very early this morning for a day of caching around the Maldon and Newstead area.
We left home in steady drizzle but by the time we crossed the divide the sky eased up a bit. For the remainder of the day we had sunny skies with the occasional cloud and a generous southerly wind blowing which kept temperatures in the high teens and low twenties.
The country is pretty dry around here but we were pleased to report that grass seeds are not as bad here compared to the North East and even Castlemaine.
We enjoyed this Maldon - Shelbourne railway trail and had a terrific morning making our way from The End to The Beginning.
A big thank you to Team Ninja for a very well researched set of Cache notes and for sharing this knowledge with us.
While we were stopped here the postie drove by.
A quick find for us.
All good with the cache.

A 4 day trip from Adelaide to Everton, Beechworth and surrounds.
8 of South Australia's finest caching teams came across the border Freddo, Team Astro, The White Dog Gang, Four Fun, Unicycle, Southern Cross Caching, Shonkloic, and Team Waldron hit the bike trails and country back roads.
It wasn't nice the the mozzies were sent to defend the ceches against us but we persisted.
On the way home we visited Bendigo, St Arnaud and many towns in between.
Many thanks to all the cache owners who put out caches for us to find.
A great time was had and we left enough to make another trip worthwhile.

Great cache found during the "SAW STUFF" road, bicycle & walking trip to central Victoria with Shonky, Astro, Waldron, Southern XC, Uni & Freddo

We CAME. We CACHED. We SAW STUFF. Eight South Australian caching teams on the prowl in Lake Victoria. We were attacked by vampire mosquitoes. We were attacked by rogue magpies. We were attacked by brown snakes. We were attacked by running kangaroos. We were attacked by publicans and cooks. In the end we got the message and went home, but not before finding lots of hidden cachey things using billions of dollars of satellites and cheap hand-held devices.
One of many fun finds on along the way on the "SAW STUFF" road trip to central Victoria with Shonki, Astro, Waldron, Southern cross, Twdg, Uni & Freddo [^]

Found on an awesome trip with the SAW STUFF boys (Shonky, Astro[me], Waldron, Southern Cross, Whitedog, Unicycle, Freddo & Four-Fun). The trip had it all including this awesome cache. There were pots and schooners (no pints) , mazzive mozzies the size of small elephants we hitched rides on , realistic lizards, real live [xx(] kangaroos that got too close and uphills. Then there were bikes and pumps. There was sweat and dust but no tears. My thanks to the group and the coordination that enabled an amazing fun filled few days that will go down in caching-lore. [^]
Thanks to Team_Ninja and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
Bendigo Cup Day and the Sisterhood of the Cargo Pants were off on a day out. We had lots of fun except for the damn mosquitoes everywhere.
Because we all live in Bendigo we started from The End and worked our way towards Maldon

Working backwards towards Maldon rather than from it, I ended up doing the whole SL series, rather than my initial plan of 5 or 6. Found, signed and returned to its hiding spot. Thanks to Team Ninja for a great series, full of history, lots of quiet roads, and great positioning of hides, where the car could be safely parked off the roads.
Find # 3181 @ 1241 H
I Decided to head off to Maldon to finish off the SL trail and to grab a couple that are off the trail.
Once I found my way I soon had the right road and was heading in the right direction. with the narrow road I was glad this was a quick find, as the old ute was left in the middle while I hunted down the plastic.

Passing trough Maldon on my way back to Bendigo late in the day, I thought I take a short detour to find this cache which appeared on my car GPS navigator. This was a nice quick find for me and I believe my first find in this series. I'll enjoy returning to find the others! Very interesting history! Thanks for the cache Team Ninja!
Found at 6.00pm. This is one of the best historical cache series that I've done. Thank teamninja
On another geocaching trip with junior geoson Cooper today, this time to Maldon and this was our first find. Thank you for the cache Team Ninja

One of a couple of caches that I logged today. Nice to here about the history and follow this old line too.

Following the line from Shelbourne to Maldon - what an intriguing story, which the detailed cache notes really brought to life! This spot could not be anything further from a floodway at the moment. We don't remember ever seeing the bush so dry.
Satellites today had our GZ 6m NNW of where we found the cache located.
Our thanks to Team_Ninja for bringing us to this location.
