What a pretty little lake. And the long walkway to thje duck hide is interesting. Public access? The cache here was a nice easy findand the tin is now completly rust coated. And it has been over two years since it was last found. It's a four-day King's Birthday weekend! Lord knows why the boss gave the whole company a paid day off, but nice! Thank you very much! So I headed to Whanganui, and maybe Hawera, to get rid of some pesky green spots.
#11,903. After the find at Pauri, this one appeared on our GPS as just about 200 metres away on Pauri Road in Kaitoke. So rather than drive, we simply walked along the road to this spot. Fortunately GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a bit of a search. Well hidden. The cache was quite wet inside, but the waterproof log book was doing its job well. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Im giving up on this cache. Three times it has gone missing. Either people are not being stealthy or someone knows it is there and is removing it.
A quick detour off the started highway to known cache. Now it has been replaced and it was a quick park and grab this time on way into Wanganui for a couple of days. The photo was taken on my fist visit just down the road where I turned the car. Thanks for the cache and another smiley face.
I did search for this one. But n luck.. I fear it is missing as it is a park and grab. I am told by previous finders....
Had to drive around turn around to pick kaleb up as there was no parking turned around parked up, what a lovely view took a photo and soon back on our way. Tftc
I have been a bit slack during the month of September (only finding one cache before today) so I needed to get out to increase my numbers. It was palnned for a car full of cachers to head over to Wanganui, but as the day neared, numbers dwindled so it ended up just being myself and Tommygun9. It was a warm spring day with plenty of muggles out and about. I ended up finding 30 odd caches with three frustrating DNF's
This was the first cache of the day and a straight forward find in the first place I checked.
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

This was the first cache on today's trip and was a nice easy one.
SpudNZ and I headed off for a September afternoon mission and Wanganui was the destination. I ended up with about 30 odd caches (on a dot day too) and we met another cacher along the way. I had only found three caches for September so this was a fortunately timed trip. Thanks to all the local hiders for making today's trip enjoyable.

#1292. Heading back to Wellington after a meeting in Whanganui today. So stopped here to pick up a few local caches. A good hint and we soon found this one. My non-caching work companion was the one to locate this container. Signed the log. All dry inside. Nice view of the lake on a pleasant spring day. Thanks for the cache.
Nice drive after picking mr up from cycling grabbing a few caches on way home - boys found this one tftc
A mission was needed to complete one of the last few licence challenges on Rangitoto Island, so a passing comment to C&D at an event and this mission was soon planned. We nearly achieved what we set out to accomplish, with only 1 more cache to find to complete the challenge but that was due to miss-reading the fine print on the challenge page.
So with the mission lasting 48 hours we amassed a great set of numbers, 317 caches found, just over 1200km travelled, about 7 hours of sleep, C&D finding his 180th earthcache, completing the KAS powertrail in under 3 hours and finding numerous amazing geocaches. A lot of fun was had along the way, and some great memories were created. A big thanks to everyone for placing all the caches along the way, this mission wouldn't have been as much fun if they weren't there!
No troubles with the find thanks for the placement.

Well another mission down the line in what HKCB and I were expecting to be another large caching weekend where numbers were the target, Sleep was for the weak, OCD=commitment , and petrol was a must. We left home at 6pm and headed straight down here to start what was going to be a long couple of days, so with much planning (compliments of HKCB) and a good supply of nourishing caching supplies in the back.
With a total of 1250 kms (just a short drive) and 5 hours [xx(] of sleep we were definitely going to earn our rest by Sunday evening when we got home. Oh, we even managed to attend an event along the way and meet fellow cachers from the area while in Wanganui.
Well it might just be a new day but we've already covered some miles in the quest for smilies. Sleeping in the car never gets any easier on the body but it does have the added bonus of saving money for more petrol.
This was my twenty third in daylight but also our one hundred and thirty second for the day not too shabby we think. As we continue up to Wanganui to our goal for the day and an event in the evening
Thankfully both HKCB and I enjoy caching through the night (and the day), well we have had plenty of experience of it, especially as we are both working on individual challenges, mine being the DGSc Challenge and includes the Night Caching elective.
So again thank you for the FUN of the hunt

A nice quick find, that offered us some needed rest after spending too long on a prior
cache.

Another good find while away with Just-Lookin hunting some caches.

Nipped out after the rugby for a quick night time cache hunt. Thought it might be fairly quiet here, but still an amazing amount of traffic on the road, even at this time of night. No problems making the find. TFTC supasi
Saw three new supasi caches go live and as work was done for the day, loaded the coords and out to Kaitokie. Light rain had started but not enough to stop me looking but did have to look like I was on the phone while a few cars passed at this exposed spot. Once they were gone a quick find and signing was completed.
