Hello daywalk,Another day, another Cache.Together with Dr Donna travelling through New Zealand. We arrived at Auckland Airport and made our way up north. After visiting Cape Reinga we went on our way South to reach Stewart Island with stops in many different Citys all over the country. Of course we have an open eye for nice Caches but take what we can get. Today we came across your Cache "Dunedin Views: Centennial Memorial Trad (Otago)" and signed the logbook with our names or took pictures for Virtuals and Earthcaches. Its great how many nice spots we are able to discover through our journey and how many of them we only See because of Geocaching! Thanks for bringing us to this place and takeing care for the geocache. DAY Seven (28/10). The nice weather has been turned on today, a very nice day and it has become a very pleasant day to cache. Our team is still playing catch up, we have just the one event for today, we will work around that and make up for lost time. The plan is to finish the rest of aeroplane and albatross, to continue on the dts and a couple as we pass. Oh and then there is the old caches and some whereigos and my favourite letterboxes and multis ... OH so much to do, there is no time for food, lucky its still daylight till 8.30pm. Thanks to the COs for all the caches we found today. It was a great day and all caches were replaced as found.

Hlsningar frn Sverige, sdra Lappland Then it was time for a little adventure. The trip goes to Sydney in Australia and then on to Christchurch and Dunedin in New Zealand .On the trip are, Tigertassen, myself, ursus67, Lnganfans and Pidjas go, which means that we log under the common name "Tulp". The idea is that before we go home we should have visited a Megaevent, Geo Toroa. Greetings from Sweden, southern Lapland

A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again. I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me. Everything was booked and I flew in on Saturday after a bit of a delay. So Day 6 of my Mega NZ trip begins and Im on my own again so lets go find a few more caches along the way. So after arriving in Oamaru yesterday afternoon the plan for the day was to have a look around town then head towards Dunedin.Up early as per usual and after a bit of travelling and of course some caching thrown in I have finally made it to Mega Central Dunedin. After attending the nearby event I made my way to this one avoiding the crazy mountain bikers wizzing past me.Thanks daywalk TFTC.

24-Oct-24
With a MEGA in the pipeline, a group of us Marlborough cachers set about solving the Airplane, Albatross and other challenge caches in the area. This one didn't appear on those lists but when attending the Australians event here, I grabbed it too. After travelling down yesterday, a 12 hour drive from Renwick, this was my first full day here. After finishing the Airplane art, I grabbed a few challenge hides on the way back to camp and then headed up here for the event and some bush bashing.Easy find here.

24-Oct-24
Finally arrived in Dunedin after a plane delay and headed straight to this event. Collected a couple of AL locations and the odd extra cache while up the top of the hill. Tftc

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today we took the bus from Christchurch via Oamaru and Moeraki to Dunedin. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndy

Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

Sixth day in New Zealand ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary country and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. After a stopover in Qatar and 8 days in Australia, our journey continued from Auckland to Queenstown with various stopovers.**Today we continued our journey by bus from Christchurch to Dunedin along the coast. After checking into our room at Hotel L. (what a shithole! Luckily we only had to stay there for one night), we decided to go caching. Our next destination was the old virtual ?? from 2001 and we took an Uber up the mountain. The view from the monument was really nice, but a bit hazy. We also took the opportunity to search for and find this tradi. Now are our names are also in this logbook.**Thanks for laying & taking care Smile.Sechster Tag in Neuseeland ??.

We arrived in New Zealand. And we are sooooo happy about it. We (Team Downunder24) discovered the island by looking for some caches. We could see many nice places, landscapes, sheeps and beautiful buildings. We enjoyed our stay very much. Amazing. "Dunedin Views: Centennial Memorial Trad (Otago)" was one of the caches we could find during our bus tour from the north to the south. Thanks daywalk for showing that place

Some old cans and lots of interesting things. In the morning the world still looked pretty rainy and 8.C with wind wasn't exactly happy. First we drank something warm and then we started. In order to protect the logbooks, we entered Downunder 2024 to save space. We are a group of 38 cachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. On a special holiday with Mr Crow touring New Zealand with a small tour company. We are very pleased when tour stops coincide with geocaches. Here we took in the spectacular views and history and then made a "Dash for the Cache" before coach departure. Found the cache but frustratingly pen on board coach and engine going! Took photo of the cache in hope that would suffice. As the coach made its way down Signal Hill the Crow went white and after frantic patting of pockets and checking he wasn't sat on it - declared his GPSr was at the top of the hill and we were at the bottom. Not knowing when we would be able to leave the tour to get back up the hill via a taxi I put out a message on the cache page in the hope that another tourist geocacher would be visiting the spot and we'd be able to meet up in the evening to collect. Luckily the coach driver took pity on Crow and as we were stopping at the Steepest/Baldwin Street he agreed to take Crow back whilst the rest of the group (11 others) had some exercise. Fortunately GPSr recovered so I removed the message to prevent anyone having an unnecessary hunt. I should have realised that people get email alerts and would have seen the message that way. I am so sorry for putting the COs out but wowed by how kind the GC community is. Thank You. Oh - and I said to Crow - you did sign it for us when you got your GPSr didn't you?! Again he went white ..!

I found this cache today and realised I'd left my GPS behind. Not knowing when I could get back (if ever, as travelling NZ) to retrieve it, I posted a log (via my cache partner Kitty!!) about my dilemma. Very grateful for everyone who offered to rescue my Garmin and messaged Kitty!! Fortunately, our tour bus driver, having dropped the rest of our group to walk up the steepest hill, took me back up Signal Hill to find it. Yes it was where I'd left it on a branch next to the cache. Kitty!! then deleted the original "lost" log. THANK YOU to all the offers of rescue and apologies if you made a special trip on my behalf.

After enjoying the nearby view and taking the obligatory photo, I made my way to this cache. There were a few mountain bikers at the too, ready to risk life and limb for the thrill of speeding downhill.I wandered down to the tree, and quickly spotted where I needed to be. As I got to the container, I spent a minute or two trying to open the rusty, metal lid but it wouldnt budge. It wasnt until I picked it up that I realised my error. The cache was then quickly opened, signed and returned to where it was found. Thanks, daywalk, for the cache

Natst je vrchol drive in. Staila anabze s poslednmi 50 m ke kece. Tern pern. Heben kopce pokryt kameny a soustavnou zelen typu kle a sukulenty. After an exhausting hunt for an old cache on Mt. Cargill, I had a relaxing drive-in hunt for a few challenges, which I usually meet. The next stop was a lookout at the monument on Signal Hill. Both are very nice. On the way to the cache, I found a dead rabbit. The cache is fine. Thank you for it and greetings from the Czech Republic.
