We have arrived on Kangaroo Island for a 5 day break. We first had this trip planned several years back but that year KI had an extreme fire situation happen and we were offered a refund on our trip which we took. We have waited this long so that the island could regrow and show herself at her best. We have been using geocaching to guide us around and two days into our break we can certainly attest to her beauty. The caching has been interesting and we have many earth caches to write up and send to COs. All the caches we have found so far are in good condition. We did replace one log sheet. SL TFTC

Well after a whirl wind tour of Tasmania to help with 3 challenges that Im working on, I got back in late Tuesday night then packed the Geowagon and headed off to SA early Wednesday morning to attend the Leap Year Mega and to also tick off some LGAs along the way as well.Well after crossing the border the other day and staying in Millicent, Wellington, Cape Jervis and the Kingscote last night its now time to slowly head back towards Penneshaw to catch the ferry back to the mainland.Kangaroo Island has been on my bucket list for years and Roaming Howie had to squeeze back into the Geowagon put up with my driving and poor navigation for another day.Continuing along with our Geocaching expedition and visiting the Flinders Chase NP in the South West corner of the islandyesterday was one of the highlights of the Island. We will see what we can find on the slow trip back today and I didnt realise that the island so so big and I also didnt realise that Kangaroo Island was the first permanent settlement of South Australia even if it lasted only 4 years.Well an interesting spot and we did check out the yard and garden first before looking for this one. This was a sneaky one that I have seen before. The cache was eventually located and we added our names to the log and on to the next one. Thanks Sand, ewood Cottage and Dunworking TFTC.

This is one of the caches we found today. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining these caches, which add to our enjoyment of the game and your island. SL

Some unusual artwork to look at on the way to this cache. I was greeted by a friendly chicken as I made my search. The hint definitely helped narrow down what I was looking for - and after a brief sweep of the area the cache was soon in hand. I felt a bit conspicuous wandering around the area, so was happy for a relatively quick find. TFTC.

Parked on the side of the road, as I didn't want to enter a driveway.

Cars and trucks screaming by at 100km/hr.

I didn't want the kids getting out of the car, nor did have any enthusiasm for finding this cache.

I appreciate there have been many finders for this cache, but this is really poorly thought through. No safety for kids.

A roadside cache with maximum speed limit & without car parking is not good cache placement.

Very happy to move on.

I am visiting KI to maintain a cache that ended up being replaced by Liz and Bruce yesterday. But as the travel and accommodation was already was booked here we are with some spare time to catch up on unfound caches on the island and to show my international nephew some of the attractions and sights. He's not into geocaching but is loving the island.

I had stopped on the side of the road and was signing the log when the owners pulled out of their driveway, so I was caught fair and square in the act. Anyway they are fully aware of the cache hidden there, but didn't have time to havachat.

Great collection and decoration of the garden.

Thanks Sandalwood Cottage for placing and maintaining the cache

Mr and Mrs Parrot took a trip overseas to Kangaroo island for the week.
We had a lovely time finding caches and interacting with the people selling produce and food to the public.
It fabulous to see the green starting to come back into the fire ravaged areas. We had hired a house in Kingscote and ventured out each day in a different direction to see the sights and what the island had t off.
We also picked up 60 odd caches along the way.
My thanks for the quick responses to the Geocaches and the virtual cache which we sorted out before logging.
It was good to be able to complete Wonders of the world and become an Ultimate Explorer during my stay.

What a wonderful collection of stuff
Loved the "You bought a Jeep glad I have a tow rope " sign.
Mrs Parrot took lots of picture and being friends of the Frog we went across the road to the nursery call "Frogs and Roses"
Mrs Parrot got some wind chimes and I got a plant.

Having some R&R on Kangaroo Island, staying with Dunmowin during the Christmas New Year week. Yesterday we had to leave the property we were staying on and relocate to the Kingscote Oval Recovery centre as the fires were getting close, so we played it safe. We spent the day just sightseeing around Kingscote and cleaning up a couple of caches around town. Wow, what a great spot! Love the little eccentric displays! TFTC..Fav point added

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.

We are here visiting, house and farm sitting for three months. There are only 89 caches on the island. Hope we get smilie faces on all of them.

Now we are on the farm for the next four weeks, and have to chase caches for the 321GO Souvenir

After finding the cache, Heather drove in, so we HADACHAT! She said we could go in and wander around the garden, but we were on a lunch date deadline.

Thanks Sandalwood Cottage for the hide in an interesting location. Fave point awarded

gatta nera and Hai Happen married! and what comes after a marriage? ok, her name is still gatta nera and not yet gatta Happen, but would be quit interesting Very Happy

so, next is honeymoon Smile

so, the decision was made, it should go to Australia, with a 12 hour stop over in Singapore to check out the bay area.

this was our second day on KI, after the first night in Emu-Bay and a lot of recommendation’s from the AirBnB owner, we headed as first to Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park where gatta nera found her highlight with holding a Koala Smile
next stop was Stokes Bay from where we continued over gravel roads to Snellings Beach, after some stops with great view, we continued to KI Western Caravan Park where we've booked a Bungalow for 2 nights.

All Caches on the day were found easy and safe - still no snake was seen.

Sorry for the late log - trying to get caught up on our cache logs

Found by The Marathon Man and pnutbeagle on our 3-month Australia holiday after travelling from snowy and cold Northern Ontario Canada. Now trying to log a week worth of geocaching finds

The cache was found as we travelled around Kangaroo Island KI, SA. Today we travelled from Stokes Bay, KI then ending the day near Emu Bay, KI, SA. This was one of 1 DNF's and 20 finds today - Most of the finds were quickly found.

Great area - quite the signs - no problems here - found after a short search - I had a good idea of what it would be.

This was day three of a two week trip to Adelaide, starting with Kangaroo Island. We headed towards the west end of the island today.

After going to Flinders Chase, we looped back along the north side of the island and stopped at this cache on our way back to the B&B. I was hoping someone would come out to give me some help, but I eventually looked at enough places and finally found the cache. TFTC.

We really had to have a chat with the landowner until we found it. My idea if the hint was right but we haven’t looked proberly. Just trust the coordinates (plus diameter 2 m). It has nothing to do with the funny decorations around it. Thank you for the cache and best regards to the owners from a swiss visitor.
