A late night cache stop off. Good voords made this a quick find, a quick find is always a good find. Last cache of the evening. We stayed at the Finch Hatten Show grounds last night. A busy campground not realising they had a country music festival going on in the hall there. All good as room to set up and entertainment as a bonus. A pretty location in the hills and that iconic NQ scenery. A late start to the morning with some puzzle solving and collection of them before we left. Pinnacle was a great stop advertising Australia's best pies, well... is it really? Only one way to find out, and yes, they are a treat to try!Fueled up and ready to cache it was into Mackay for a black sand earthcache and coastal scenery. A strange yet fascinating sight but good to understand this black sand more.Caching along the way of different types as we passed, pulling into a busy rest stop half way between Mackay and Rockhampton after dark. Thanks for your cache to enjoy on our travels!

Finished another long trip around Australia. The 6th. Next up to Townsville to grab the Palm Island LGA. Only 2 LGAs to complete Australia.Firstly heading back south for some Canberra time.TFTC. Camped at the showground of Finch Hatton for the night. There happen to be a country music festival on right there. Bands played late into the night.A slow start in the morning getting some Jigidies done. Then it was back into Mackay to finish the last Earth Cache. Now heading south to Rockhampton to find lots of ECs, Virtuals and Ad Labs... and of course any other type that looks interesting, or not.Nice quick find. I think I have looked here before.

Back to the road after a pitstop diversion into St Lawrence, I decided to stop and see if I could grab a quick find here. Thankfully it was exactly that as I spotted the hide from about 20 or so metres away Big Grin and was soon signing the log at 13:20. Big Grin That's how I like 'em.

TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Nedandmrskelly .

**PS:** The log is mighty full and could do with a newie pretty soon.

01-May-23
Found this one last weekend, but with all the Reno’s going on at home, I have missed logging it till now.
This one almost had us stumped for a bit as even out in the open my GPS had us wandering all over the place.
As usual I ended up ignoring it as there were only a few options in the area and we quickly sussed out and dismissed the signage.
Onto the main event and had it a minute later.
I think we used the last possible spot on an edge to sign it.

A planned trip north with a mate and his family, sees us checking out some of our great countryside. We got in some camping and in some not so usual spots. It has been fun and the best part is I get to cache in places I do not usually get to visit.

Today we are on the move again and heading towards Mackay. I wanted to be in MacKay for the morning event on the 8th. Ok this is for a challenge and it is the last date I need for this one so the nerd in me says it is important, lol.
On the way up there are just a few I wanted to stop at and a couple are ones I have passed before and said I will get it next time. Today was the next time and Clairview is on the list. Lol.

This one was an easy find thanks.

Thanks for the cache and the hide, I signed the log and returned the cache as found.

Had a long drive today but made sure to stop for this one so I could tick off another county for a challenge. Looked in the right place, doubted myself, then looked again and put my name on the log.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 109. Clairview Day 1. I spent the first part of the morning doing the caches along the Clairview shore line. Then I headed south to St Lawrence, where the nearest store is. Still wanting a few more to fill in my morning, I headed west up the Croyden road to the beginning of the range.

Along the Bruce Highway it was back to quick roadside caches in amongst the road works today.

Thanks for the cache Nedandmrskelly

Just found this and got a toot from fellow cacher Rob albida33 who had nipped in to St Lawrence.

Good spot to get out and stretch the legs on a long boring drive. I have seen these types before so would have found it but unfortunately I got a massive clue by a previous logger taking a photo of it. So if you want to find it without cheating do not open any photos in the activities list. Log wet.

Saturday. We were really enjoying the wonderful views heading north from Brisbane to Cairns. Clear blue skies and terrain that changes from nice and green to bone dry. We stopped by to stretch our legs and our arrows had us at a likely location, be we still searched the obvious (we thought) spot for the cache first. Coming up empty-handed, I went back to the original spot and bingo! We followed suit as Konie, and signed the tape as the log itself is gone.

This was the 7th of 11 caches found on this outing.

Thanks ***Nedandmrskelly*** for showing us this place Razz

After staying in Carmila overnight I continued my journey south through the rain and stopped here and there to grab a cache and this was one of them.

There is no actual log so signed on the tape and replace as found.

Needs a bit of TLC from the CO as I didn't have a suitable spare log.

29-May-21
Hi there Nedandmrskelly.

Today we headed out from Mackay with Rainforest Cookie so we could attempt the remainder of the VC series, some of the Marlborough Trail - but we also had to find this one. As it's not part of the series it deserves a finely crafted log, not one of the crappy cut-n-paste ones that usually are associated with power trails.

We found 54 caches today & DNF'd 1. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Finally after two weeks being unexpectedly detained in Mackay we are on the road heading south, at least the weather has now cleared

Naturally a stop or two, or more along the way but sadly my travel list is being shortened as we are two weeks behind our schedule plus I’m currently the only driver so a lot harder to get in/out as fast

A nice quick find at GZ and I love all the parking room which with me towing I needed it

On my way to Barcaldine for QOGM 2018 . Left Nanango at 0225 and this was the next stop of the day. Good quick find. Going to Rockhampton to meet up with RoddyC and Mrs RoddyC some time this afternoon then heading to QOGM 2018 via the coast and across to Clermont. Signed log YOF as that is what I use on small and Micro log sheets/books to save space on the paper as I tend to write on the big side. Apologies for boiler plate logs as I have a lot to write up. We are heading to Barcaldine to attend the event and detoured a couple of hundred kms to do this loop of caches. Varied scenery and hides made it an intersting day. We left Yaamba at 12 noon and got back at 6.30pm. It was a bit of a rush towards the end as we could see we would run out of day light. Thankyou Nedandmrskelly for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area Big GrinBig Grin
