Thanks Anytar for the event. Thoroughly enjoyed the get together and the chance to meet some newbies and catching up on the oldies.
Had a great night meeting other cachers, thank you anytar. Hopefully I will meet these people again and eventually put names to faces. I wish I had started geocaching years ago. I learnt a lot about different types of caches.
Thanks anytar for organising another nice event. Nice to see old and new cachers.
Thanks anytar for organising. Great to meet new cachers and cache (pun intended) up with experienced ones.
Thanks Anytar for a great event, enjoyed catching up old cachers and talking to new cachers (or budding cachers). Enjoyed the bingo, finding the in-room caches and then heading out for a coffee and a few other caches. Great event looking forward to catching up over a meal next week
Even though I very rarely geocache these days, I'm going to be bringing my laptop and will do my best to answer any questions about GSAK anyone has (might be a test of what I can remember!). Priority will be given to those who haven't had the chance to get help in the past. I ran the Beginners GSAK workshop at the first NZ Geocaching Mega in Dunedin a few years back.
If you have GSAK already or want to get started, download the last version off the website before coming. Bring your laptop with you. Hopefully the library hotspot will work for connecting to geocaching.com. I'll try to remember to download some useful macros and have them on USB.
Don't know what GSAK is? Geocaching Swiss Army Knife. Its a tool for downloading geocaches off the website and filtering out those you want to use while travelling. You can put the results into your GPS or your phone/tablet.... or print them out ... if that's what you prefer. Also it allows you to create some pretty cool stats to add onto the bottom of your geocaching profile on the website. Keep in mind however, to get full use out of GSAK, you will need a Premium Membership to geocaching.com.

Its an extremely useful tool once you get your serious on with geocaching.
I guess if anyone else has anything they'd like to share on the night, here might be the place to discuss it so others can look for you.
