After replacing this cache twice now and it going missing both times, unfortunately it is time for it to go

30-Mar-22
Something wrong here.
Very low D rating, yet nobody finding it.
Looks like it needs checking.
When you live so far from the cache, and have no reliable maintenance support, these caches need to be bullet proof.

29-Mar-22
There are a lot rocks at the GZ. Searched around and under larger ones, but nothing
Tried a few of the smaller ones
Was very busy the day we were there so not much time without being observed
Really would have liked to find this one as it us only physical cache in the area but no luck

11-Mar-22
7/3/22 Had two really good search but nothing maybe this cache is not here anymore ?

09-Feb-22
We had just started the Overland Track as part of an organised group. By the time that we got to the GZ, I was already near the back of the pack so I couldn't spend too much time looking.

I poked here and there but couldn't see anything and we had to move on.

Unfortunately, I doubt that I will be back to have another go at this.

Thanks for placing the cache.

23-Jan-22
Cache replaced and is all good to go

17-Dec-21
Cache will be replaced and better hidden 11/1/22

###Cache Maintenance Visit Required please.###
This geocache has been brought to my attention as being in need of an Owner Maintenance visit, as the logs indicate that it is most likely missing, or else some other problem exists with the cache.
I agree that it certainly seems necessary to have it checked by the Cache Owner.

The cache owner needs to:
* Investigate the situation and either restore the cache, or address any other issues, such as correcting the D/T rating if necessary.
* Re-enable the cache by posting an Enable log
* Post an Owner Maintenance log to advise what has been done, and to clear any Needs Maintenance attribute which is present.

Otherwise :
* Post a Note Log to request more time if necessary, or provide other information..
**Do not use an Owner Maintenance log for this, that is for use only **when you actually do something to repair the cache**.

Alternatively:

* Archive the cache, and remove any remaining geo-litter from the site.

In the meantime, I've temporarily disabled the cache page to await owner action by gridge98 and to take it off the playing board to prevent further geocaching community inconvenience.
[Please see the maintenance section of the Geocache Hiding Guidelines.](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines?expand=1#cachemaintenance)
**I will check back in 30 days** to see that action has been by the CO.
If nothing has happened, I will assume that the cache has been abandoned and, unfortunately, I will need to Archive this cache.
*Caches archived because of lack of maintenance/abandonment will not be unarchived.*

The Geocaching Community needs to have a degree of certainty that a cache is there, and in good condition, waiting to be found, and the CO has a responsibility to maintain their caches.

Please see [my profile page](https://www.geocaching.com/p/default.aspx?u=Balayang) for additional information.
Thank you

30-Apr-21
Looked all over, dug deep into what seemed like a very likely spot based on the hint and other logs, unfortunately came up empty handed Sad

21-Apr-21
Looking for a micro in a field of rocks is like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack, and we were just as unsuccessful. Had to stop looking frequently due to a steady stream of muggles. Area looked as if it had been picked over repeatedly.

CACHE REPLACED PLEASE SEE PHOTO!!!!

I had seen this cache was in need of replacing in SA and had planned to do this walk on my few weeks travel to tas over the christmas period so reached out to the CO to help replace the cache, we came and I managed to easily find the old cache here but as it wasn't much chop we replaced it with a new sistema and log book to help it continue and stay alive.

Today KalebClark and I set off to attempt to do Barns Bluff in a day, with 25km at hand we set off early from Launceston and arrived nice and early to depart ronny creek car park at 7:30am, we followed the overland track up to marions lookout and continued our walk along before having a rest at kitchen hut for a little while, still not being able to see to much the walk continued on and the weather got colder. We soon arrived at the Barns Bluff turn off in 2h40m from the car. Up we went and the rocks were very slippery and it was a matter of being careful where you placed your feet in order not to slip but we finally reached the top in joy and celebrated it over having some lunch. We decided to turn back and head back home. As we reached the Barns Bluff track junction we came across a frenchman who was very lost and had turned the wrong way on his cradle mountain day walk so we helped him and he followed us out but he could of possibly ended up in serious trouble. The walk out wasn't much fun as the weather became worse and the wind and rain set in. Between kitchen hut and marions lookout it was scary to see the amount of people here that were under prepared and potential hazards to themselves in such climates. We went done marions lookout to dove lake to get an FTF and back to the car saying good bye to our new frenchman friend (olivia). We retuned back to the car and 25km complete in 7h25m. Great day out.

Thanks for the journey and the cache

###Cache Maintenance Required please.###
This geocache has been brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit, to address the issue described in the logs.
The cache owner needs to either fix the problem or archive the listing, after picking up any geo-litter. In the meantime, I've temporarily disabled the cache page.
[Please see the maintenance section of the Geocache Hiding Guidelines.](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines?expand=1#cachemaintenance)

If there is a good reason for a delay in enabling this cache, please post an update note log here on the cache page so that everyone will know the progress of restoration efforts.
When the maintenance is completed, you can re-enable the listing by entering an "Enable Listing" log, and then post an "Owner Maintenance" log to clear the "Needs Maintenance" attribute, if set.

**I will check back in 30 days** to be sure that the maintenance has been done, or that further information has been provided.

If there has been no action to repair the cache, or explain the situation, unfortunately I will need to Archive this cache. *Caches archived because of lack of maintenance will not be unarchived.*

The Geocaching Community needs to have a degree of certainty that a cache is there to be found, and the CO has a responsibility to maintain their caches.

Thank you

Cache not here ️

08-Jul-20
Disappointing to not find it today after walking up here. Previous logs suggest that the container was damaged so it’s probably gone now.

Either this is gone, or it is badly damaged. CO should fix this cache.

Down from Brisbane on hols with IolantheK.
Another one of many on our travels through Tassie [^]
Enjoyed this cache and was suprised to find we managed to walk the Overland track from Ronny Creek to Face track then Lake Wilks Track and finally return by eastern Dove lake track Smile.
We started at 9:30 and with all the stops finished at 16:00.
Could have been a real hard find but I stumbled upon it. The cache is just a small zip lock bag and in poor condition [^]

T-Tech and I are down from Brisbane for a meandering holiday around Tasmania. We flew to Melbourne where we picked up the campervan and spent a day caching there, then took Spirit of Tasmania I to Devonport. Tick that one off the bucket list!

Today we are taking a bit of a hike around Cradle Mountain! Yet another bucket list item ticked off Big Grin We left the bus at Ronny Creek at 9.30am, taking Overland Track past Crater Lake, headed up to Marions Lookout, then further up to Kitchen Hut where we had our lunch at 12noon. We considered attempting the summit of Cradle Mountain, but figured it would add a couple of hours and was known to have a vertical climb, so decided not to, and took Face Track along the base of Cradle Mountain and Weindorfers Tower, then took the sharp descent down Lake Wilks Track, then followed the Dove Lake Circuit Track past Honeymoon Island and Glacier Rock back to the Dove Lake bus stop, arriving at 3.50pm. Quite an adventure [^]

This cache was a must do, but there was a couple sitting right where we wanted to look, so they got an impromptu lesson about geocaching Wink T-Tech made a quick find. TFTC, robtas & Cached.

Amazing view. No orange near the cache.
Thanks for hide.

We went on this hike on a beautiful sunny day and the day after a cold and cloudy one. It was fabulous to see Cradle Mountain from this vantage point in the sunshine! The cache needs maintenance though. Found the wet "baggy" and no container Sad

During our roadtrip through Tasmania I dnf this cache "OVERLAND TRACK JUNCTION" from robtas & Cached on 8 februari 2020 13:26. Hoever as the say the yourney is as good as the destination and a container less cache is a doubtfull cache. As other people say cache requires maintenance.

Groetjes/Greetings and TFTC from a Dutchman (a long way from home, but home is here the heart is, on the bus)

We have thoroughly enjoyed our day in Cradle mountain NP today, combined our walks, Dove Lake circuit with Wombat Pool,Marion Lookout and Crater Lake, returning to Ronny Creek.

The cache was found easily enough but it is wet, managed to sign in though.

19-Jan-20
First day of our Overland track journey and we stopped here before the larger climb up to Marions View. Took sometime between the muggles to make the find but finally got it. Thanks and great spot for a cache.

31-Dec-19
We had walked past this point 2 weeks ago with heavy packs on our backs as we started the Overland Track. With a long distance to walk that day, we decided not to stop and look for this cache, knowing that we would be back. Today, with a bit more time, we stopped and made the find, but couldn't sign the log as it was wet. I don't know how long it will last as all that was there was a log book and a rock in a plastic bag. Maybe someone could bring a replacement container and proper log book to keep this cache in good condition. TFTC.

29-Dec-19
We found this one on our first day of walking the Overland Track.

Today was a beautiful, clear day which made for great views. There were plenty of muggles about but they were too interested in their surroundings to be bothered with us.

Well we made it to this point but the wind was howling at about 100km hour and it was raining so heavy and sideways it was stinging our faces. It was quite horrendous. We had chikinlittle and chikinlittler with us so could not mess about trying to find caches. We just had to keep going which sadly meant we had to walk past this opportunity. We were doing the overland track. The conditions were so bad, we rescued 3 people on 6/12 who had hypothermia and we stayed with them in kitchen hut with the police and paramedics. Thankfully we had a Garmin SOS device so could set off the SOS alert. Helicopter could not take them out until 2 days later. Strange conditions for summer. Eatmorchikin from Brisbane

Couldn’t find today due to extremely cold and wet conditions. Anytime I brought out my phone GPS it got soaked!
Bit sad as this was the only day we come here but that just means I’ll have to come back in the future!

Fairly sure we were looking in the right spot, hands were too frozen to explore anything though.

24-Nov-19
Found this one on out way to Marions Lookout last friday. We can absolutely recommend going up, the views are amazing! Didn't have any reception or WiFi since then therefore the rather late Log. Greetings from Germany

30-Oct-19
We were staying in the nearby cabins, which I recommend, and decided to walk the Crater Lake circuit today at a very slow pace to really experience this wonderful place.
Sat at the nearby platform and had lunch, just waiting for the muggles to stop and give the opportunity to search for the cache.
Nearly 30 minutes later the crowds had eased enough to search and it was quickly found. Sat back in the sun and dried the log before it was signed and returned to it's spot.
A beautiful place to visit.

With the weather on our side today we decided to walk up Marion's Lookout and take in the great views across to Cradle Mountain. We have done this walk a few times and it is always enjoyable and a challenge as well. Found the cache where expected and no worries retrieving with people more interested in the view than me. TFTC

24-Mar-19
On our trip trough Tassie we come to this place.
After a fantastic walk in the cradle mountains we can find the cache.
Thank you and greetings from Germany send Moorhelmi

14-Mar-19
To get the most out of our day at Cradle Mountain, we walked from Ronny's Creek along Crater Lake to Marion's View and then back along Lila Lake to Dove Lake car park.
It cost us more sweat than expected, but it was worth every drop of it!!
On our way back we took the time to search here, although previous logs showed this one was most probably very hard to find. On GZ we found a lot, but the only thing we did not find was the cache.

Still, many thanks

Doing a lap of Tassie over the next 2 weeks while here on holidays from Perth.
Spent last night at the Cradle Mountain resort. Made the trek up here with the kids. Like other had a good look around but appears it's no longer here.
Pretty surprised at the number of recent found logs considering its clearly not here.
Hopefully its replaced soon as its a great part of the world. Will have to console myself with a couple of Earthcache finds Smile

This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

26-Dec-18
Based on a log that MV added quite a while after he found it, it may well have moved to the nearby sign

26-Dec-18
Couldn’t find it after extensive looking

26-Dec-18
Got to the GZ and then read the recent logs. The place that matches the hint seems to be gone. I checked a few nearby matching spots but came up empty handed. The hike was nice though.

Joining the club with just a photo find. tftc

22-Dec-18
We looked for something orange.
That was easy because only few things were orange. But no cache.
We made a photo from ground zero.
We assumed they changed the pole.
Hope you allow the log this way.
Greetings from the Netherlands.

21-Dec-18
our first day on the overlandtrack, used this cache to remove the heavy backpack and searched for the container without luck, thanks for showing, photo coming soon

21-Dec-18
Despite a concerted search I DNF.

24-Nov-18
With the size, difficulty, and hint, there was only one spot it was going to be, and just like the last searcher found out, it wasn't Smile

I have a photo of a wearied Chudles at GZ after 1/2 a lap of the lake, a visit to the summit and a detour to here.

I would like to claim a conceded find if you end up replacing it and are happy?

may be missing will check as soon as I can.

We were not able to find this one and believe it has dissapeared. We, Murmeli8 and myself searched for quite some time. Dissapointing after such a climb up here. From the owner we also got not answers. Nevertheless we enjoyed the landscape and the wombats.

24-Oct-18

Wet and windy. We stopped here because Marion's Lookout was no option today. TFTC

Tomorrow I commence my trip down the Overland.

Reperio at 0635.

Having arrived at Cradle Mountain yesterday, it was decided that today would be the only time that I would have to make the walk up to the summit of Cradle given other family priorities for our holiday. I headed off before dawn, and with the air so chilly, welcomed the uphill climb along the stairs to warm up.

Once at GZ, the GPS had me in a distinct area, and using the hint, I just couldn't locate the cache. It was only after 10 minutes later did I concede defeat and headed off where I made a glance on the way past another object some 20m away...and there it was. Hooray! Onward and upward.

Headed out to Cradle Mountain today in the search for snow and was not disappointed. Very good conditions other than the mountain itself wasn't visible and it was quite windy. Taking small steps in the icy conditions is a must. Once here we searched at GZ but my coords were out by around 15m, but given the area it was easy to narrow down on its location. TFTC

A beautiful walk! It was poring with rain when I found this cache. Paper in cache was wet so I signed it as best I could log was not in a plastic bag. Next cachers to this one might like to bring some paper to put in. My coords took me to rocks but cache is in another place. Thanks for putting this cache here.

13-Mar-18
Found this cache on the first day of our Overland track adventure. The wind was roaring and we were having trouble standing up so we dumped the packs while we searched. And searched. And searched. Eventually muggle friend widened the search area and hey, there it was! Most obvious place for a cache up here and no need to go digging through rock piles. Our GPSr had us a loooong way out, 18m or so if I recall correctly. TFTC

Our hikes in the Cradle Mountains were amazing, we had good weather and took a lot of nice pictures. We also saw a lot wombats in the evening at Ronny Creek. It was amazing.
