Logs
Had visited previously with 2 kids on a hot day, with no luck. With roadworks in the area recently, I had wondered if the site would still be intact, but recent logs reassured me that it was still present and therefore took one possibility off my list. Plus, it seemed in need of maintenance.Today had a morning quest to buy chook food, so stopped by. There were still graders and rollers in action despite it being Saturday, so who knows what the drivers thought of the middle-aged woman in active wear lurking roadside for a while. But - success this time! Not sure why it was so hard the first time around, but given I still don't understand the ferret reference perhaps this led me astray.Cache located using mirror technique, log replaced and I will message the owner to see if wanted. Side quest achieved. Thank-you for the cache!
Should have been the first place we looked, some of the activity did not help....got there in the end, we defeinitely made it harder than we should have on a hot, humid day!Lovely weekend in Broome chilling out, currently working in Fitzroy Crossing so a 900km round trip to Broome had to include as many geos as we could fit in, weather was pretty humid and hot but getting used to that now up here. Met some fellow geos who are on a cruise around Oz, TeamARF and Sheandhe, always nice to share the craziness and geocaching is a great way to do a proper tour of a new place.Thank you Flim&Flick and Gingernut_chestnuts for placing and maintaining Smoking Guns for us and others to find and enjoy!
Flim&Flick, we didnt find your cache today. Sorry, but it wasnt for lack of trying though! Got better things to do in the heat today!
OCW PelDroedGwin Previous logs had me expecting to have more trouble with one but PDG had CIH quickly. Log is full, squeezed TB & PDG into square number 15. Tftc
Found it today in Broome together with brezelitos. Sneaky one. Took us some minutes but at the end easier than expected.TFTC
Found while spending time in Broome, waiting for parts and purchases to arrive so we can continue our holiday around the country. Had a look at the large machine nearby but thought nah they wouldn't do that, or would they.Big thanks to Flim&Flick, Gingernut_chestnuts for placing and maintaining this cache. Cache number 9686 on September 2, 2024
It's tiny! Keep that on the down low. Very hot in the midday sun so fortunately didn't take too long.
A short tour of the area as it was quite hot and on our way back to camp we stopped here to find the cache, but had to wait for a moment as two vehicles suddenly pulled into the property! Thanks for the cache.
On our Australian trip . After started for some days in Darwin we are on the road to Perth now .On the Road after Katherine, Edith Falls, Kunnurra, Bungles Bungle, Emma Falls, El Questro, Mitchel Falls, Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Bell Gorge, Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge .Now again on the sealed road from Derby to Broome. Not a really easy one in the full sun . Then a driver came and we talked and it was an old swiss guy . We had a long talk and eventually we tried once again to find the cache and there it was .TFTC# 17'153
In Broome so wanting to find a cache to mark the moment. After a spectacular sunset over the ocean, and a shop to top up the supplies, time for a cache. On the back of three DNF's this was a long shot, but always worth a look. Took a good look, tried to remember not to mess with anything, hard but didn't need to. In the end the phone torch showed the little blighter, very pleased to spot it.
Didnt find it. Place was closed. Too scared to touch anything but will come back.
Was too scared to touch anything mechanical or electrical that might be associated with the gate, which was pretty much everything.
Found with nissan65 on a walk from town to the port. Took longer than I thought it would. Had a chat with the local caretaker. Thanks for your contribution to geo caching
Searched for a while (like our friends from ) but didnt found the spot… unfortunately we hadnt enough time to search… maybe next time
Ms Atalanta and I are spending a week at Cable Beach, near Broome and passing some time on the hunt for geocaches.
This one was on our hit list. While looking, the manager came round and provided a handy hint.

Broome Day 3
Headed out early to do the EC then returned to find this on the way back.
Already their were caravanps parked waiting to get into the overflow camping area.
The caretaker went passed on his motorbike while we were there & called out "Did you find it"
This is an amazing area to explore, we found a variety of cahes.
Thankyou to the CO's for hiding this cache

Okay, 2nd try. I needed extra help so I asked KWMoo on the way back from the port cache. Thanks KWMoo for the help and the owners for this cache!
Found! That has us stumped until we asked the caretaker (who wasn’t very certain what we were looking for!) but his last sighting was all we needed to find it. Make sure to bring something to pull the log out as it’s fairly well stuck in there!
Driving back from the Port jetty we stopped here to try and nab this cache. My non-caching mum went straight to the vehicle while I tried to call her back towards the fence! Wary about touching things and setting off alarms we were about to give up, when I put my hand right on the little nano. Thanks for placing this sneaky little cache
2 weeks in the Kimberley with Dino, Pebbles and Wilma. What a treat and not just that we went around to so many great natural highlights but we did Caches wherever we went which made me very happy and will be perfect to remember all those nice places we saw. Thank you all for showing us this beautiful state with your caches.
Today we are on our way back to Broome and then a little caching around town before we return the 4wd.
This cache: A quick find along the way. The little guy couldn't hide for long.
Thank you Flim&Flick, Gingernut_chestnuts for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Travelling north with richlink, to Darwin and beyond finding caches along our route. Another day in paradise, TFTC.

Took longer than I thought but once I found it, can’t be unseen.

Found with the help of the caretaker.
It appears he has helped others.
Anyway, the log is signed and all boxed up.

Cannot find the cache, a person entering was asking what we were doing, he probably never heard off geocaching, and no sign of recognition could be observed
found on return trip from the earthcache out on the point. staying in town for 4 days and leaving tomorrow, so enjoyed the RODEO on Friday night and the races on Saturday. Cache in good condition. had trouble signing log as pen didn't write on paper correctly, so only 15 Aug 22 was entered because could not write after that. Thanks all for placing and maintaining this cache.
Camping in the park for a night looked for 30mins nothing 99.99% that it is gone (rip the cache!)
On my way to Perth via Broome with a few detours for LGAs. TFTC.
GPS batteries were flat but had enough remember info to find it straight away.

To reword a previous log which claims a find for making a DNF.
Found where it was meant to be put and no one has taken it, as it's still there.
Quick find in an 'obvious' place.

Catching up on some late logs, now that I have time, while travelling.
We are on the road travelling up through central Australian and down the coast of WA. I was happy to grab a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
Found after a bit of a search.
Thanks Flim&Flick for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Not sure if it’s my phones gps playing up or what but the coords were pointing us into the property which was closed so we left it
Just after we arrived here to start looking with ilook4geo a vehicle came out of the property. The driver was wondering if we were hoping to camp there, but it was still closed for the season. We mentioned what we were actually there for and he knew where it was, so that shortened the search time a lot. That was a good thing.
Thanks go to Flim&Flick, Gingernut_chestnuts for placing this cache.

Came here with goingplaces2 and lucked on some local help with this one. Log signed and replaced. TFTC.
Brushing the sleep from me eyes this morning,
I packed up camp and headed back to Broome
Not to vote !!
I did that yesterday
To find a couple of caches around towne,
and buy another carton of beer
(One carton a day per person !!)
CRIKEY !! [:o]
At least there's no restrictions on how many caches a day I can find
Like this cache !!
And just like the gate guardian,
It was just a small ferret to find the cache's hiding place
TFTC, it was a blast [:o)]

Similar experience to the last DNF, we were put off by security signs and fear of touching something we shouldn't.
An awkward cache that we didn’t enjoy hunting for. Traffic, heat, and the fear of touching the wrong thing and setting off security meant we gave up pretty quickly.
Day 22 of the long road trip from Perth to the Townsville Mega via the southern states and then back to Perth again via the northern part of Australia.
Today was basically from just south of Derby then across to Broome before ending up at South Hedland.
This cache found without problems. Log signed and the cache returned as it was found. Had a conversation with caretaker about the cache as he had come to pull down the red flag above the cache.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for cachers to find.

Many cars made for a not so easy retrieval. Don't get the ferret hint but found eventually. Found with Panda Dundee. TFTC
After much head scratching, car dodging and previous logs we had this one in our hands. Utilised the first aide kit to find an extraction tool!
Found with Minergal TFTC

Read some of the logs and returned today as I tried the finish off the multi. Success with the iPhone mirror - great tip. Found very quickly Favourite point given TFTC
Thanks for sharing this interesting old gun with us. This one took me 3 tries to get as I felt a bit exposed looking and the heat got to me. I ended up using my phone as a mirror to find the prize
Yes!!! Finally got it. Would you believe we looked for it last year but alas, found it second time around. Thank you
In Broome for some work and training, found this tricky sucker on a day off TFTC
TFTC. Took a bit of finding as was hard to know what to not touch.
Dont touch the fence is slightly misleading, maybe use caution if interacting with the fence would be a better description.

It must have been blind luck because I put my hand straight on it without even referring to the coordinates. We have replaced the logbook for you so there is plenty of room to sign now. Do you want the old log. TFTC
An early morning ride to try and beat the heat, enroute to the caches at the Port. Glad I grabbed heading south as was very busy on return trip a few hours later. TFTC.
My holiday in Broome was extended from two days to ten, which makes it far more likely that I'll find all the geocaches here before I leave!
I hired a bicycle when I was in town the other day, and this morning I went for a ride to get a clue for a multi-cache, start an Adventure Lab, and pick up this cache on the way to the headland.
I looked around for a while, but without putting in too much physical effort. Eventually, after looking at other logs, I found the cache using the phone-as-a-mirror method, and found it immediately. Signed the log and returned the cache in between traffic, and headed off for the next adventure.
Thanks for the cache, Flim&Flick and Gindernut_chestnuts!

I was very unsure where I can touch but I read few old comments guessed where it must be. Tftc!
Quick trip up north for work. Would love to stay longer however for good reason not wanting to pay the inflated prices for accomodation currently!
The place is very busy not only for work but for the sheer volume of cars and campers on the roads and parked up overnight in car bays!
Loved it up here away from the cold wet conditions in Perth if only for a few days.
Added a Fav point to all the caches found in Broome as there were few to get but all quality hides and or locations!
Like some others minimal space/ no space to add name but a cool old relic to be seen.

The silver bullet I would connect to this cache
No room on the log so took a photo
I didn’t have any spare logs to help out today

Found whilst camping at the pistol club! Not enough room to leave your name, but a satisfying find
Whilst staying here at the Pistol Club in the van we stumbled across this one. Nice little hide TFTC
