TFTC. We found the remains at the alien landing zone. We messaged the CO and he had given us the ok to log this cache.
Mr Minion and I flew in to attend the " nearby " Mega and grabbed some caches on our way to the hotel. This was one I had specifically targeted being a letterbox. So we made the short walk and up I went but then a muggle dog walker started approaching , so I came down and started pretending we were bird watching , when the " muggle ' started talking about the cache and some in the NT we knew we were ok. So then it was a quick sign, being careful not to drop anything and we were on our way. Thanks for the cache Na'wal tnln replaced as found sl
Went down to Lara to have lunch with a muggle friend and couldn't resist the lure of a letterbox cache. The aliens' craft has seen better days but all in good condition inside. My friend was very amused as I tried to sign and stamp without dropping anything or losing my balance. Thanks for a fun cache!
I am sick of studying. Worlds stupidest assignment had me questioning whether I should abandon my ambition of finishing my masters and go back to selling popcorn at a cinema for a living. Probably an indication that it’s time for a break! Hmmmm what caches are nearby.... time to cross this letterbox off the list. Made way to GZ. Think I startled a passerby muggle with the rap music that was blaring out of my headphones. He certainly gave me some weird looks anyway. Made way up the step and to the well themed cache. Thanks for this letterbox Na’wal
Found it with ease after passing a muggle with their new (very big) puppy on their way to puppy pre-school.
As for our aliens, "hull breech!" They're going down and loosing oxygen fast! Thanks for a fun find.

Finally got this one after finding this one smashed the last time we were here. Thanks for the letterbox cache Na'wal
I found myself with a bit of spare time this afternoon so I decided to come out and grab a few of the caches around Lara that I hadn't managed to find yet.
This was not my favorite position to be when signing a log but I always say "One must face one's fears!" so it would be a little hypocritical of me not to do so. Log is signed and returned.
Thanks

Great Cache, bit of challenge to get it. Sorry forgot a pen to sign the log book, have pictures for proof if required. The clips are deteriorating so open with care. TFTC
Just gotta love a novelty cache .
We enjoyed this find.

Found with Coruze and DazzPete
The three of us wandered off towards this one , and dad and Pete were that deep in conversation that they overshot GZ by about 70m....luckily young Rinny was a bit more alert and she waited at GZ while we came back.
A bit of a look up and down and we had the cache in hand for a quick sign of the log book.
A pretty cool cache this one, although the clips are starting to deteriorate.
Cheers

Thanks to Skullracing and Coruze for letting me tag along for the day. It was a lovely winter day to get out and about.
We will overshot GZ and had to double back, happens when you’re too busy chatting and not looking at the GPS.

Note clips on container are deteriorating not sure how much longer it will last.

Several choice locations today with CITOs and cleanup Asutralia Day. Spiify- and I chose Lara as bushfires were south east of Melbourne so we kept well clear. Avalon airshow was on though so plenty of traffic outbound. Anothe Na'wal cache and simple to spot. Spiffy- still has the knack for these. Thanks to Na'wal for the placement and fun.
Found on 3 Mar 2019 at 11:35 am.
Today's main aim was to attend the CITO event so headed down this way and after a diversion around the air show traffic from my Waze navigation app I still only arrived a couple of minutes late.
Afterwards we headed out for a few larger caches Fleabag- had targeted and this was one. I spotted it so I had to do the hard work while Fleabag- watched on. Nice cache.
Thanks Na'wal for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Taking the 3 year old Geo-padawan out for the day and we both weren't disappointed, cheers guys! Tftc
Not sure what people mean by this cache is gone. Cache is where it is supposed to be, missing a log which has now been replaced
The cache surrounds and stamp are still there but the cache is gone... nothing else to be seen except a wind up toy.
A previous cache has recorded their details on the outside of the container (Alansee)
So we have done the same.....it needs a replacement log. However, the cache is in the open and so accessible and appealing to any child muggle, it is probably not going to last long.

This log is to tidy up a mess I made with GSAK . I forgot to apply the template so my finds were published with a nonsensical log.
Rather than try and edit all the logs I post this not with what the log should have been.
My apologies for the confusion caused.
A few days away with Freddo, e.gregory1 and The White Dog Gang.
Fun was had by all. Not too many dnfs
Most logs signed as FETT.
Thanks for all the caches.

Found on a short, post-Christmas sojourn to Victoria with Freddo, Team Waldron and thewhitedoggang that involved plenty of driving, cycling, walking and even some boating and wading.
The weather was on our side (albeit a little warm at times), which made for some great caching. There were plenty of varied finds, with some excellent and often tricky hides and and just a few DNFs. We signed most logbooks ‘F.E.T.T.’
Unfortunately we found the container in two parts and missing a logbook. We put in a piece of paper with out names on it and put it all back together. But the catches are broken and it wont stay intact for long I think. Needs some urgent TLC.
Thanks Na'wal for the cache.

Fortunately a not too hard climb today. Unfortunately the cache appears to have been muggled and the top is up, while the bottom is very low. Signed the top as proof but this one needs addressing.
Had an hour to kill after opening an old work site for an inspection, oldest GeoKid is off school with the flu so a good opportunity to grab our streak find for the day. She actually spotted this one before I did - a nice short stroll in the sunshine seems to he exactly what the doctor ordered. Thanks for getting us out and about in the sunshine!
I pretty much always stop for letterboxes and, pleasingly, jimbo_80 steered the jimbo_80_mobile to this one at my request. The projection was straightforward and the cache was spotted fairly readily. At GZ I had to immediately concede that the retrieval was beyond me in my current state, and left the decision as to whether to proceed entirely to jimbo. He gave it a go, and it turned out, managed to do the deed successfully and quite elegantly. Thanks Na'wal!
BendSinister and I arrived here, and he'd already done his projections ahead of time. But I've just done them myself after the fact, using my fandangled new app GCTools that Ive just discovered - I could always do it before but now it's quicker.
Anyway, not the most confident of tree climbers, I didn't think I'd be able to reach it once up there (I'm quite short you see), but I had a crack anyway and indeed I was able to reach the UFO. BS signed our names, then I figured out how to put the lid back on and was back on solid ground.
Thanks Na'wal!

Having finished the puzzle series I decided to keep my luck going and try for some interesting caches around the place. This one popped up first for me! I parked the car and took the wander down to GZ. I was a little nervous about the climb but was easy enough to get to the cache. A bit of a balance act and I soon had it opened, signed and heading back down. A fantastic cache worthy of the fav point! TFTC

Happy Australia Day! A lovely walk to a cool cache. I wasn't quite prepared for this hide but I got there in the end! A very cool letterbox cache, I was happy to stamp and give out a favourite point. Thanks for the cache Na'wal.

well I am always attracted to Letterbox caches. I gotta say I was glad i had company with me today as normally I would not attempt a grab this high up.

Found while in Lara needing 3 more caches for my 1000 cache milestone which will be the Geelong xmas dinner.
The geowife and i headed down the path but when i neared GZ the coords had me on the other side of the creek. That didn't seem right so a check of previous logs and realised i was almost at the "landing zone".
A fun quick climb and i had the log signed. Impressive UFO!
Thx Na'wal for a fun cache. Cheers

Frilk and I seem to have come to a subconscious arrangement whereby I do the tree climbs and he supplies equipment such as kayaks, ladders, torches, geomobiles and lolly snakes. I feel like I've come out ahead in this. But one day I might be able to repay the favour.
This was my second tree climb of the day. I enjoy the physical challenge, and managed to get up and down without injuring myself. Fun cache! I had done some preliminary work on this so I had the coords for GZ stored in my phone.

What a fun letterbox.
The retrieval wasn't too bad and we thought it was a great themed cache.
Grabbed the TBs to continue their journey.

Found by Mary & David at 1521. Trying to keep our streak going is becoming harder at Day 394. However, this cache was within striking distance. We had been by a while ago but weren't properly equipped, so we knew what was required today. Such fun, so it earns a FP. On the down side, the local mosquitos are cunning, and arrack silently, so beware. Has a small technical glitch while retrieving the contents, but carried out a repair and all is good. Dropped off Kelvin the Keen Koala and Kittykatch Kookaburra TBs to spend a little time with the aliens. Our thanks to Na'wal.
A fun theme to this cache. Plus, we always enjoy a letterbox. We had attempted on a previous visit but were on the wrong side of the river and short of time to make the find. Today was a much better situation and we were scrambling up to reach the landing spot. A neat way of ensuring the stamp stays fixed in there. TFTC, a fav for the theme.
Reperio at 1110.
As I continued to wind my way through Victoria on the way to Alice Springs, I decided to stop off at a few select caches along the way. Being a letterbox cache, I parked at the trail head and used the directions provided to find the cache. A nice simple process where the cache was spotted on arrival. I'm surprised the neighbours haven't gotten curious with this one yet.

Our final one for the day just before the rain started again. A short walk in and then realised where the hide was so up we went. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Out chasing 50 for the day, n0w0rries+Wife and myself found ourselves diverting to the landing site of this desirable letterbox (or so n0w0rries had us believe). After a hunt on the ground I checked the cache page and lo and behold, tree climbing attribute which caused us to cast our glances to the sky and discover the hovering UFO.
I do believe that n0w0rries commitment to visit with the aliens was driven in part by McLookers and (judging by his log) an ulterior motive
After making his way up and kindly signing me in a couple of photos were snapped. Attached, find one of them

It seems McLookers have inspired us to find certain cache types.
Today our team consisted of n0w0rries +wife, leafotwind and the Geomutts, Max & Eve.
Letterboxes are certainly one of my personal *favourites* and this one was no exception. [^]
We soon found ourselves staring up in amazement as the alien craft hovered above us.
With a flash of light their tractor beam levitated me and I soon found myself inside their shiny craft.
My curiosity got the better of me and I started investigating all that could be seen.
Suddenly we were no longer inside the ship and with a feeling of euphoria we returned to our own crafts.
Sitting there discussing what we had discovered I had an uneasy feeling that the aliens may have done some investigations of their own...
Thanks for the experience Na'wal, I think...

Doctor Owl and sushilord are off on a long weekend trip to find some quality caches in Mexico. We suffered the laughs, joys and frustrations normally experienced on a caching trip and bonded as geobrother and geosister.
There's more than one way to skin a cat, mine is easy and works so why not use it. And there's no caclulation involved . Arriviing at GZ a spacecraft was spotted, the trick was to sort out how to do the caching thing while braced against moving branches without dropping anything or falling.
THanks for the cache Na'wal.

Owl and Sushilord decided that they should attempt 5 different cache types today, so their puzzle aim was expanded to include this cache. Owl was ready to do serious calculations, but Sushilord pointed out a much simpler method. He also did the tree climbing and braved the aliens, who appeared completely frozen in surprise at the intrusion. A favourite point for being novel.
Practicing doing the distance and bearing thing with this cache . Went slightly askew with the bearing first up, managed to correct that and then spotted where the aliens had landed. Thankfully geo hubby was able to retrieve the space craft and sort out the equipment inside it. All was good and the aliens were not at all perturbed by our presence. Many thanks to Na'wal for a well chosen container for the theme and for another letter box to add to our collection. Favourite point given.
In the area and specifically targeting Letterboxes and Multis today, this one was on our radar. We did the necessary calculations and found the aliens! Great cache camo, thanks Na'wal.
Apologies for generic log. Now 8 months behind on logging and really need to catch up. Fantastic time caching in Melbourne again. Many thanks for the effort.

Always enjoy a letterbox cache
Today we made our way to Anglesea for the Mega Event, including the official opening, and of course those elusive lab caches, before heading back to Geelong to the tackle the Its Puzzle Time series, and a pleasant drive through the You Yangs. And to make it a long and productive day, some night caching along Portarlington Road to finish things off!

The day of the Surf Coast Mega had finally arrived. We (Gunnie69, The Green Geckos, Ghost Gums and myself) had teamed up for an assault on some carefully chosen puzzles caches (read that as the ones we were actually able to solve), earth caches, challenges, letterboxes and a smattering of other caches thrown into the mix to make it more interesting. Quality, not quantity was our mantra on this quest. But it still hurt to have to leave so many left unfound...
Having started today a little later than we had intended, we were trying to make up for lost time this morning and still make it to the mega in a timely manner. But somehow we kept getting sidetracked by unusual DT combos and such, but we still got there for the formalities, just. And as is usually the case when attending big events interstate, I was torn between wanting to mingle and socialise longer at the main event, or get back out there and do some more caching. The lure of the smileys won out and all too soon, we were back on the road again, tracking down all the lab caches that were on offer.
This was one of the letterboxes that was on our hit list which we managed to find whilst in the area. No problems finding the cache once at gz, and a very unique cache it is too. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Na'wal. Hopefully I will return to this area sometime in the future when I have more time to explore and enjoy everything it has to offer more then...

After a couple of "not reading the cache page" incidences over the event weekend, Ghostgums, The Green Geckos, Mistraluna and I were learning that the offset caches are quite common in these parts... So, on arrival, TGG was already reading the details and we plugged the amended location into our gadgets. [^]
A short walk, the container was spotted on approach and retrieved by TGG. With our visit etched in the log and the container replaced, we set off back along the path and moved on.
Cheers Na'Wal.

Out late on a Sunday night, trying to keep my find run going. "Flinders Rd" attempted: DNF. "Poison Ivy" attempted: DNF. Gasp! Things are looking a bit grim. Midnight is closing in, and I make a dash to this one. Thank goodness, it's an easy find. Signing it, though... Those are **mighty big** ants crawling up the tree trunk there... and I don't have any shoes on. An act of gymnastics at the shoulder-high branch, and I'm up (amazingly, without dropping the phone, the torch, the pen, or the car keys). Equally amazingly, I sign the log and reset the cache without dropping anything (including myself). A high-light end to a low day. Thanks heaps, Na'wal!
While playing 3D Minecraft in the area I walked past GZ which I had visited during the Mountain-2-Mouth walk earlier this year. I had seen the cache then but unfortunately there were too many muggle walkers around for a safe retrieval. Today the coast was clear so I managed to get my name and stamp in the log. Other than these aliens flying around there was an aggressive magpie nearby which soon started tormenting me and targeted me a few times. I had to complete my walk waving some sticks wildly around in the air. Pity the aliens didn't abduct that magpie!
Thanks, Na'wal.
Thanks, Na'wal.
I loved the cache notes about the cheeky aliens. They certainly have landed in Lara today. GZ sorted, and their spaceship spotted upon arrival. Up I went to meet them, avoiding the ants as much as I could without actually letting go: tricky. Thankfully no more aliens have removed the letterboxing stamp and it's still safe. Log stamped and signed, said my goodbyes to the cheeky creature, and back to Earth I retuned. Looked up and there was a horse just staring at me; don't blame him, it must've looked strange this human / alien encounter. Thanks for the Letterbox Na'wal, there aren't too many around
The aliens always seem to be photographed with a dusty old film black and white camera by a farmer called Bubba. Bubba drove a pickup truck and grabbed the camera from the floor to shoot the out of focus hazy picture of the flying saucers. Where are all the good digital images now. A trillion people carry cameras....
Good to bump into Feathertop who's shoes were soaked. I assisted with the retrieval for this one. We had a lot of fun.
Thanks to Na'wal and *clear skies* from TeamAstro. Cache the planet!
I spent today in the Lara area. My tally in the end was 30 caches, 10 of these puzzles and the day was loosely organised around the CITO event early afternoon.
ON my travels I ran into my good friend Astro from Adelaide and we teamed up for an hour or two enjoying the weather and the hides on offer.
So many of the hides were by Mr Na'wal and you set the bar so high around here. Lara is certainly now a centre of caching excellence.
Always nice to do a letterbox when they come up. Again Astro did the retrieval which was much appreciated!

Our geo-map indicated a smorgasbord of caches around Lara, so we set out today in an attempt to appease the hunger. We chose the Bearing & Distance approach, too slow - like previous cachers we think the aliens have gone again and taken the stamp as a souvenir; leaving us to sign in using the more traditional method!
Our thanks to Na'wal for placing this cache.

We chose the Bearing & Distance approach, too slow - like previous cachers we think the aliens have gone again and taken the stamp as a souvenir; leaving us to sign in using the more traditional method!
Our thanks to Na'wal for placing this cache.

As indicated in a number of logs, the stamp in this Letterbox Hybrid has disappeared and needs to be replaced please, so the cache retains it's status as a Lettebox Hybrid.

After cruising around to the local bakery for lunch the geopups and I headed out for a post lunch walk to grab this cache. Incredibly for me, after some consideration I managed to not only reach the cache, but sign the log, leave Pepe Le Peu TB and put the cache back together without losing anything or killing myself. Not surprisingly, my luck continued not further from there. After contemplating the best way to return to the geopups, I attempted thus and promptly hurt my right leg It took a few goes to regain my feet and then having untangled the pups we all hobbled back to the road. TFTC Na'wal, as previously mentioned there was no stamp in the cache.

While on my way to the You Yangs by night event, I headed into Lara first to find some others caches,
This was one of them.
I was looking for a way in to get to Enigma, when I realized I was at the start of this one.
I followed the projection and found myself in the middle of a few trees, I just happen to look down and I noticed something on the ground, I picked it up and I found that it is the original log for this cache, I instantly thought that the cache had been muggled and would no longer be here, I signed the log but I wasn't sure what to do with it, I looked around and then I spotted the cache but it appeared to still be in its correct location. I made my way to the cache and found that it had a replacement logbook in it but no stamp, so I signed that one as well and put the original one back in so now there are two.
I then continued to the next one.

UFO sightings are uncommon in this area, but today we spotted the alien craft after trying to work out how to use a gps to project bearings and distance... learnt something new today... i am thinking aliens were hit by muggles as only thing left on board was the log book..
thanks to Na'wal for this cache

Found with highrod. I think the aliens have already landed as we found an empty container. Mr highrod was able to retrieve the log book where it had been placed. TFTC
I think the aliens have been here as the lid was on the ground and no sign of the contents. That's probably what the aliens are seeking. Logged with permission Thanks Na'wal
Out and about heading to the caching event we stopped off for this cache
After doing the maths we found the cache gz.
We found an empty container and a lid nearby so after getting a spare log book we stamped our name and fixed it up.
Our thanks to Nawal for the cache, it will require some maintenence

We found your cache The Aliens Have Landed
Found with misscheif18 on a lovely Saturday morning walk.
Sent Azz up the tree to retrieve log book from its makeshift hiding spot.

Away for a week end full of adventure, caching with my mate Rokmum! All credit goes to her for this one..... She did the hard yards while I supervised!!! Awesome cache! Thanks
My first tree climb! That was so fun! I think the aliens have abducted the stamp though. This is our first cache for our long weekend get away. Looking forward to exploring this great area. TFTC!!
After attending a CITO event at Avalon Beach this morning and with a third of the family away on holiday, Posho6 and I decided to tidy up the caches closest to our house. These just happen to be in Lara. We ended up with a comfortable tally of 22 for the day. I channelled my inner child to access this cache, sign it and walk away.
TFTC!!!

6/03/2016, 1:42 PM Find #5089 I saw a shooting star the other night and then today I found myself near here so I figured I'd better go checkout the aliens. Nicely done Na'wal!
I found myself at GZ looking around. Then what must of been 5mins i awoke and my underpants were missing. But atlas i found the aliens and they have them back. (Must of had to many skid marks). Log signed as i don't have a stamp yet. Also no stamp in cache.
On our way to Geelong after doing the puzzle series nearby. We really enjoyed this, a nice little walk and then a bit of adventure to complete the find. Nice! Aussie Sisso completed the climb and signed the log which put a smile on both our faces. Thanks for the fun cache.
Had not noticed it had been disabled.
Spent some time on it as I like letterbox caches but on getting to cache location only found the line in the tree.

Another mechanical malfunction has grounded these aliens until they can find parts for their ship, they will be in hiding...
The aliens have crash-landed!
We were happily navigating towards the projected GZ when it became clear that what looked like litter from afar were actually the scattered remains of the UFO. We collected all we found, which fortunately included the aliens' logbook (just imagine: what if this had been lost to science and research!). However, an investigation needs to be started into the where-abouts of something that must have clearly been there originally and into why the levitation device is still neatly wound up. Did the aliens just fall victim to wild weather, or, to something more sinister?
We have added our stamp to the log and returned the spaceship to the CO.
Thank you for bringing us here!

I successfully negotiated with the aliens to land long enough to sign their log and then allowed them to quickly return to 'space'. I wonder what anyone in the nearby houses has made of this if they happen to have looked out their windows at the right time.
Another unique cache from the prolific Na'wal. This one definitely gets another well earned favourite. Thanks for the hide.

Have checked on the Aliens. Some silly sausage forgot to seal the ship and the engine fell out. Contents were found scattered around the crash site and now all put back together [^]
what happens when you don't read the full description!!!!
