Quickly worked out what I was looking for, although my initial reaction when I spotted it was 'wow thats a bit morbid'. Very cool hide. Cheers
Today's plan is to spend some time in the Hastings area seeing what we can find. Once I got into the right position I soon spotted what I was looking for. TFTC
Very prickly find...jeans will be better than leggings or shorts. There are also lots of ears as well as cyclists and traffic. Stealth was needed this arvo. Great spot and awesome cache!
It's December, and to help me achieve one of my Geocaching goals I need to log 300+ caches this month, which means an average of ten a day. I started off well, but had a glitch in the middle which has left me behind on my target. However, I left home a couple of days ago and cached my way up through the Wairarapa to Napier (here for a concert tonight). After two very successful days, I started today with only ten caches left to find to meet my goal. Well, I made it to my target of 300. Now to collect a few extras, just in case, or just cos. This one made me laugh. --- Thanks to mrBmrsP for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. [DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge

Didn’t take long to find this one. Now back up the hill to our accommodation. Tftc
Found it & thought what is that. Talked to a man & his dog & time to go back to our accommodation up the hill. Tftc
Out for a bike ride around the area, I had come from the cool Keirunga garden trains that were running today, and headed down Iona Road, so was starting from the southern end. I skipped #10 since I only had enough water for me, and carried on to target these cool caches before it gets dark. A fun hide here, TFTC
Arrived at the same time to see Andrew struggle with this one, one of us had already found it so that made it a bit easier apart from the thorns.
Great idea for a cache!
Thanks

A tricky retrieval and the barbed wire could have been a reason for the sore thumb! TFTC
Sore fingers and arms from the scratchy blackberries but worth it for sure! Tftc
FINISHED IT!! Proved the previous cacher wrong once again, went in on one side of the tree and got tangled in spikes, screamed and yelled for a bit and then my backup arrived from the car, what’s the clue they yelled,, sticks out like a sore thumb small tree I replied in between yelps, my father then preceded to untangle me while my mother found the goods, got it! She yelled those magic words had us racing to the other side of the tree, I reached gingerly in, avoiding more spikes and signed it as TSNZ TFTC fav point as the end of a great trail and a cool container , oh yea the next one tomoro
This was the first one to look for today, and we knew that we had limited time before our delicate English Rose complexions would be fired to a crisp, so we didn't want to spend a long time hunting.
Saw the evidence of chainsaw activity, saw the MASSIVE wall of blackberries (or some other nasty, attack you kind of sharp, prickly vine), saw the dead possum, stood on something in the long grass that crunched beneath my feet and smelled something bad. At that point decided to move on to the next one.

Great little trail. I saw 1 car as a moved down the road. Very quiet. All the caches had good camo and the GPS was spot on each time. TFTC.

Have to admit it took a little time before this cache stood out for us but when it did, we had a giggle. Another fun cache in this wacky cache series. TFTC

I decided to use the opportunity of having a quiet few days off work over Xmas to drive over to the Hawkes Bay in order to be a cacher in that region for the first time.
This one was the last I found in this series today, and also the one I almost gave up on. I was pretty sure I was in the right place (I was) but I just couldn't put my finger on where I should be looking, not helped by the proliferation of wild blackberry that was hampering my search. But persistence finally paid off and I made the find.
On opening the container, there was nothing untoward found with the log, which was signed before the whole lot was replaced back where I found it.
Thanks for setting this cache up, and I wish you a happy and prosperous 2021

This was an easy road to travel along and stop for cacches, plenty of parking and very little traffic . here the fruit tree has some promising fruit on it!
i was spending a few day in hastings visiting friends and geo caching around hastings and set out early to locate some of the cache around about here before going on the St george's trail .
thank you for these caches and i took nothing and left nothing at them all.

This was my first and loved the hint, soon gave it a you know what as approval.
Parked up near #9 and walked to the far end then back again before heading to the car ad the final. Great series and a good experience.
Some real poor weather today put us off caching for the majority of the day but there was still time to make a start, and finish, on the TMGT quartet that Napier has to offer. Decided that the rain would put off some muggles, and so it proved as I was not seen or disturbed at any GZ. After that I headed out alone for the bchef weird trail and they were a treat, and I stayed dry - nice.
It's that time of year again when we try and get out there to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and my birthday the next day. This time we matched it up with a trip to Whanganui to see our daughter and the ever changing/developing granddaughter Kaiah. After the weekend with them we headed to Hawkes Bay for a 4 day stay in Havelock North which started off with rain but fined up nicely and finished the week well. A good break from home and plenty done and seen (as usual). Not huge numbers of finds but 22 adventure labs, the 4 TMGTs in Napier, a couple more CANZ caches and a few Virtuals as well as some other treats, T F T C to all COs.

Have come from Tauranga with a cycling group to do some of the amazing trails here. And for us to get a few smileys whilst we are here as well... Very apt container here as our hero ended up licking his wounds and moaning mightily about the thorns hidden in the long grass. Earns a fav point for your great sense of humour. Cache is all good. TFTC
A wonderful way to end the trail even funnier when we did number one last and found a similar cache. Thanks for this quirky trail.
One of quite a few that we collected as we explored the region. Found with bkj97. T4tcsl Apologies for repetitive logs.
Decided with little blue hen to nab a few caches along this trail before heading back to napier for a much anticipated degustation dinner. With time pressing we allowed 2 mins at each location before moving on. Surprised to find this one straight away despite previous dnfs. Tftcsl
Today we hired a bike for a tour around Hastings. There are some trails we want to do so off we go.
We found most of the caches in good condition, a few could need a little maintenance. And we must come back one more time, because we missed a few.
To all the CO’s, thanks for hiding and maintaining the caches.

Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, aka WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
We guessed the cache as we approached the gz. Great hint and thanks for the trail.
Today we took our best shot at completing as much as we're likely to be able to of the Mystery at the Museum Challenge. As we've cached out anything remotely local we knew we'd need to travel quite a bit - not so easy for us, especially in winter. However two trails out the back of Hastings looked to give us the best chance within a reasonably compact area and suitable for a day trip. We had 38 caches on our list, some we didn't attempt, but were pretty satisfied with our 30 finds before wending a weary way home as night fell.
After a rain-filled journey in the morning for most of the way, we were caching along B & P's Weird 'n' Wacky trail by mid-morning and apart from a little drizzle at first the rest of the day then stayed fine for us.
This was our first and we enjoyed the wacky cache - haha - just as the hint suggested! TFTC

Oh no! Another one DNF'd.
I'm afraid the thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is the fly tipped rubbish.

Staying in Te Awanga for the weekend. Mrs Rubbishparty playing her flute in a Mother’s Day concert. Came out to do this series after dark. Managed 8 out of 10. Enjoyed all the wackiness. Hope to return and finish it.
Bit spooky finding this in the dark. Still got a thumbs up and favourite from us. TFTC

Have been planning these caches for a few weeks in conjunction with HKCB for a mad dash and effectively a 24 hour run (so that we could spend time with our respective families) for the rest of the ensuing weekend. Signed most/all caches as HKCD or some such other that we could fit in
Leaving Hamilton at 7pm Friday and getting home midnight on Saturday so that at least 6hours quality sleep was acheived, sleeping in the car is always a bonus (2 hours) and the remainder of the time caching around part of the country we hadn't previousley done a whole lot, but have left plenty for the next trip across the hill.
Starting a new day with only a drizzle outside and an early morning bike ride to boot.
This was the sixtith of the100+ that we acheived in that time we were over here.
Thanks to all the CO's for the effort and giving some great caches, sorry about the repetitive logs but then 100 is a few to cover off.
Continuing on around the countryside collecting caches as we go
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

Last one of the series and a nice quick find to round things off. Sadly it was 3 DNFs in a 9 cache series with 1 definitely gone. But the caches I did find, I did enjoy the different containers. TFTC.
Haha.. like the hint.

This was the fourth day of my twelve day trip to go to the Wellington Mega. Today I zipped down to Havelock North to do a few power trails to get my numbers up.
I had a bit of trouble with this one since the item was not in its correct place, but had fallen to the ground. I returned it to a spot that looked correct. TFTC.

One week off during school holiday time, combined with some cheap flights made a great adventure in the HB and Gisborne area, popping into BoP a couple of times also. I had great fun and I am grateful to all CO's who placed the caches for others' entertainment!!
Today I decided to have a big day and see if I can break 50, and I did, even with a few extras! This was a fun series, TFTC!!

Caching with Sidewaze. My apologies for late logging, my thanks to CO for taking the time to place the cache and giving us the challenge of finding it. TFTC

This weekend was a caching road trip to the Hawkes Bay with Mr Gap, something we have not done together in a long while.
Weather forecast was good so we set off late Friday afternoon arriving in the Hawkes Bay about 7.30pm so settled in to our accomodation and planned our weekend of caching.
We needed a couple of caches today for a personal challenge we are doing which we were able to collect.
Saturday started off very slowly with some caches taking longer to find than others but once we started doing the trails in the area caches came fairly quickly.
Had some interesting chats with people on the way, wondering what we were up to.
A few of the caches on the trail were quite damp but still writeable.
Sunday was homeward bound so made caches we picked up were mostly drive bys.
Great weekend with 52 caches collected for the weekend. SLTFTCaches

We decided to collect this series of caches today mainly to get one more puzzle at the end of it. We were very pleased with the decision when we started finding the Weird 'n' Wacky trads. Some interesting cache containers and unusual sights nearby. This one might stick out like a sore thumb, but it still took a little while to find. Thanks.
Was in the bay for the weekend. Did a wine trail the day before so decided the next day to do this trail as I’ve heard great things about it. Please excuse my cut and paste log in advance and thanks for the effort in setting up the trail. Cheers
In the Bay for the long weekend, picking up a few caches with Allepousse in between doing a few other touristy things.

A quick easy find while on holiday in the area with Gone Fishing. The cows thought we looked interesting but I thought maybe they were coming to help us. Tftc!
Lots of dumped green waste here today.

I really enjoyed the walk and the different Caches
I had the longest search, really everywhere. But I could say that the hint is right

A nice and quick find. You must be related to NoseyNel in Christchurch. She uses these kinds of props. Cheers.
I took my bike for a ride around Napier, Hastings and Havelock North today. Weather was a bit on the warm side, but had a great time anyway.
Thanks to all of the COs for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Over from the UK with my wife, parents and daughters to celebrate my 50th birthday. We are staying with friends in Havelock North for Christmas.
Did this as a drive-by. Had a look but initially could not see anything then more of a search and a reposition and I spotted this cache. The container was exactly as I was expecting. TFTC

#5110. Its the longest day of the year and I am planning a big caching day. Spent the night in Hastings at the local holiday park and now doing a few Hastings caches before heading south via Route 52 to Masterton and then back to Wellington. The plan is to find at least 70-80 caches today so I can get my numbers up for the bulk find component of the DGSC challenge (1500 needed in a year). Part of a blitz to try and get an additional 200 caches found by Boxing Day. I have done 82 in past 2 days driving from Auckland to Hawkes Bay. And now onto the Weird and Wacky Trail. Well that is weird. I found one exactly like this in Auckland as well. Maybe someone is chopping them off and dispersing the evidence around the countryside. Quick find. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the W&W cache series mrBmrsP.
Didn't find this one on our initial search, so left to complete the rest of this trail before returning to have a second look. Now clue makes sense. TFTC
Flew down from West Auckland with some Westies. Rebel98, rustynz, merlot58, Aiden29 and Mr and Mrs Jag50, we have planned a rough plan to cache until we drop more or less, for 3 whole days. 2 vehicles for us, me and rusty and rebel are in one. The others are doing their own thing.
Loved this little series and the very creative use of the wacky objects. Initially I wanted to come here to do four of the series just so we could get the bonus cache, which we did btw but then rustynz wanted to complete the series just to see what other objects we could come across, as she said, only one gave us trouble but we looked forward as to what we were going to see next.

Some weird and wacky Westies (rustynz, rebel98 & gorby) have made the time to complete a power trail whilst in the Hawkes Bay
Have loved the hard work and creativity that went into creating each cache. There was really only one that caused us problems (the hamburger did it).
Liked how the soldier was guarding his territory.
I think it was the donut that had become detached from its holder, but Batman always saves the day!
Yep there was some wacky too!
We just avoided the rain, we could see the dark clouds in the distance, and could hear the thunder, and see lightening flashes too
Thanks for the trail, lots of fun had by this Westie Crew
