Enjoyed a short walk up here today. Found easily but log it very wet. Thanks for placing and maintaining the cache sparsockclub

A quick walk up the track - had to bend over double for the overgrown last 50 metres or so. Arrived at the crossing and spotted a likely spot. Bingo! Cache was quite wet so I wiped it as dry as I could including the logbook. Still writable thanks to RITR paper.
Thanks for the cache, Sparesockclub

Took the turn off from the main track to somewhere I haven't been yet. A missing cache disappointing the locals is not getting maintained by it's owner in more than a year got passed over with no positive updates under the pines so we decided to cache this recently maintained cache for a concrete find instead. A bit slippery getting down the rocks but managed the crossing ok. The hanging cache was where it should be and a RITR logslip got a couple of signatures added. One day we'll head further up the track to see where it ends up. *Labyrinth **15pt** trad **130pt***. Thanks for leading us here.

24-Jul-22
Took a few minutes to find. The cache and logbook are wet but I managed to sign them. Kept my feet dry which was a bonus

29-Mar-22
Replaced container and logbook. Pencil stub in outer case.

In dunnas for a while caching up with KJR..
"Ticking along tuesday" another day doing some solo caching while k has to work...

Nearly a couple of years since the last find..no wonder the container was full of water and log unusable..needs some TLC..

Returning from the caches further up Davies track, we weren't sure if we would have time to find this cache or not. It looked to be not far from the track, so we decided to give it a try, and it was in fact a quick easy find, after which we returned to continue our descent. TFTC

Well, well, well, how many people would have walked right past this cache without seeing it? Understandable though. After all, if you're not on the lookout for it, then why would your brain register this as an object of interest when your eyes glide over it?
I did learn what a skid-site is. It is the point on a track after which the skid-marks greatly intensify in frequency and duration.
Thank you for hiding this cache, I believe this was my first time on this track.

18-Jun-20
Slippery and muddy trail today. Feared maybe my 3rd dnf in a row but spotted it. Some water in outer but inner ok.

14-Jun-20
Good to go now

Nice walk up the quiet tracks, and then this almost hidden track. Almost lost the lids, but managed to spy it again as filling in the log. Great time. Kia ora for the cache.

09-Oct-19
Loved the little river crossing, found easily with just the beginnings of spring blooms to help us Smile

09-Oct-19
Loved it, thanks

19-May-19
Found with Lou and Duch. Cool wee track, didn’t even know it was here

Loved it!

An afternoon walk up around the Pineapple track to fill in my third last dot day GPS on phone was a bit jumpy and even though I was sure I was at the right spot I couldn't lay my reached out hands on anything? Walked a little further up but no my phone was definitely telling me I was going away from where I needed to be. Back I go, stop mid track and a-ha what is that I can see with my geoeye...BINGO!!!
Log signed and then time to sit and relax for a bit on a nicely placed rock in the stream. If it had of been a couple (or 10) degrees warmer I would have taken a dip in the rock pool at the bottom
This was my third find for the day and was going to be my last but being such a lovely afternoon with still a couple of hours of daylight left I decided to carry on up a bit further and go on a possum hunt TFTC

08-Sep-18
TFTC. like the wee track. thanks for taking us there

Yesterday I drove from Ashburton to Dunedin, and I woke up with my legs crying out for something to do. So today I embarked on my fifth ramble for the Rambler's Reward Challenge.

Wandered on up the muddy track to a nice stream and two excellent dogs, and a friendly owner. Quickly grabbed the cache and didn't even fall in. Tftc!

01-Jun-18
Found it

02-May-18
Walked past it then slowly made my way from fuschia to fuschia to find it

26-Jan-18
It took a little while for the GPSr to settle down and in the meantime there were lots of fuschias that I spotted along the track. After inspecting them I moved towards the obvious (which my GPSr did agree with on arrival to GZ). The cache was soon spotted.

29-Dec-17
After 2 fails we had success here, great hide TFTC

17-Jun-17
Found with CJ-Curry after our trek upward. I had a good laugh as CJ walked by the cache, totally missed it and had to come back. (Not that i helped!)

17-Jun-17
On our way back from a trek up the Davies Track, Hevic and I found this one on our radar so we figured we'd take the time to grab it. I think this was the first time she's been keener to find a cache than me! Once there, I opted to cross the stream largely due to my long legs. Then I walked fifteen metres past the cache without seeing it. I wandered back to it, then Hevic decided to take shaming photos of me finally finding it >.< Cheers!

29-May-17
Dusk and getting dark very quickly. Walked past the cache initially but a desperate phone call to my geocaching sister gave us the help we needed in the dark. TFTC

15-May-17
Took a bit of searching to find the right track. All tracks pretty muddy!! Managed a few stream crossings and still dry. TFTC

29-Apr-17
Nice, easy find. Cache in good condition, log book dry.

17-Apr-17
Was very pleased when D offered to cross over the slippery rocks in the swollen creek. He looked for a few minutes, and then I spotted it from the other side of the creek! Tftc!

31-Mar-17
Headed for a track but I went the wrong direction. Oh there's a cache here... and so there was TFTC

11-Mar-17
I was going to give the boots a nice gentle introduction to the NZ wilderness on a simple dry path but that's not how it went. But I guess this was fair enough, a bit of mud, some creek hopping, and a little cacher's dance - exactly what they need to get used to! I was hoping not to land in the middle of it as I did not have any spare socks with me - I am obviously in the wrong club! Wink TFTC!!

18-Dec-16
Spent a couple of minutes going back and forth across the creek before I read the hint and found the cache soon thereafter. Ruby the staffy was with me and seemd to enjoy the creek crossings.

SL. Thanks for the hide Sparesockclub

11-Mar-16
Replaced log, old one very tatty. Still contains pencil.

09-Mar-16
A very nice spot to stop and rest. Thanks Smile

01-Jan-16
Parked the campervan at the top and made a walk through these beautiful bike routes. If I didn't had my GPS, I probably would get lost.
I loved this one, altough it was again hubby who find the cache. Nice stream for the doggies to have a cool off in the heat. Thank you for putting a cache out here.

27-Dec-15
Another new trail for us and with the creek so low we hopped across with out any trouble. Found with debsnz

27-Dec-15
This took longer than it should have, but if we'd checked the hint sooner . . . . . . Found with Aoraki Sheep.

23-Dec-15
I never even knew that wee path existed! Cool little spot there! TFTC Smile

13-Dec-15
Driven in from the garden by the cold wind, cabin fever, Mr D on call so can't go far, need somewhere sheltered... let's go and do some of those SSC caches which have popped up since Mrs D finished her streak! A good decision - gave us a nice wander. Turned out that Mr D has never been down this path before, and the trees have grown quite a bit since Mrs D was last here. GPS a bit off, but eventually read the description and Mr D spotted the obvious from a fair way away. Even a pencil! Then we crossed the creek and proceeded to the Beech Ball.

04-Oct-15
Easily spotted 10m from GZ...HOTA

25-Sep-15
Having found "Having a Ball", I was well placed to head for this one, so headed along a new (to me) track. Soon found the crossing and thereafter the cache was just where the CO said it would be, so another smiley, thanks.

TNLN. TFTC.

09-Sep-15
Track a bit wet today but cache all good, TFTC

06-Sep-15
Short walk today. Getting a bit sick of winter now

04-Sep-15
Found on 4/09/2015.

A bit of water flowing along the creek today, only just avoided wet feet.

This was a better test for the new runners, up and down trails that were good and muddy.
Tried one route in but it was the wrong side and the creek was wide and fast here. Backtracked found another entry crossed the creek at a better spot and came up on the right side to make the find.
A good circuit of the area nearly done.

28-Jul-15
I knew this crossing well, and made it a couple of extra times before reading the description again and narrowing down my search. Thanks.

27-Jul-15
First time I have been here before so it was a fun day. I did try for one a bit further up the hill but with an arm in a sling it was quite a mission so I got this one on the way back to the car park. Thank for the adventure and cache

25-Jul-15
Another gap day cache. I notice that the track has been fixed up after the horses broke the edge off a few weeks ago. Rocks very slippery today. Thanks for cache.

23-Jul-15
Our first FTF! Saw this on the email, close enough for a bit of a walk, and out into the frost we went. Hadn't been on this little side part of the track before. TFTC

23-Jul-15
Been up here a few times in the past few weeks on caching business- finals of puzzles so will say no more! Hadn't been on this particular track before. Good brisk outing. TFTC.
