Nice easy stroll along McGouns track to GZ. Spotted a few likely spots on approach so started searching those and moved along until the cache was found in short time. Logbook was completely soaked (thank goodness for RITR paper. Dried it out as best I could including the container. Added my name and returned it all how it was.
Thanks for the cache, Sparesockclub

Had a bit of trouble with maximilliansss but we’re newbies. Found just before giving up. Made the success so sweet. Tftc
Ran outta time with just a cursory glance at GZ before heading back to the wagon the other day. Returned to give it a better go and went 4mt off the track to make the find. A bit wet, even in the double stuffed cache and gave the RITR logslips a wipe dry to add initials although the ink ran a little. No bag isn't doing the log any favours and a pencil would just rot away. Returned cache as found and headed back to the parking as the other MTB box left unmaintained for a couple of years was archived. *Labyrinth **15pt** trad **145pt***. I luv all the Redwoods up here. Thanks for leading me here for a cache.
What a lot of trees to choose from! When I found the cache, I had great difficulty extracting the inner container. Probably best not to put it into the outer one upside down as it jams. TFTC
In dunnas for a while caching up with KJR..

We took quite a while to find this cache, despite its being for us, only a few metres northeast of the coordinates. The cache was really wet, but thankfully the log was waterproof paper. Also it was higher that the hint. As we anticipated, the first word of the hint is crucial. The cache owner's log of 25th April 2019 needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as blackberry spreads rapidly, and the cache is actually about 5 metres from the track. TFTC
I'm sure I had found this one before lockdown, but did not log it as I was saving it for a dot day. Dot day today and could not find it. Wondering if there has been small amount of clearing done. Found some branches over the other side of the path but they did not have the cache. either.
This ball outclevered me for now. Ill need to come back to have a more intense rummage, it seems. Nevertheless, thank you for this cache. I don't recall ever having been on this track before, it's quite the cutie.
Coordinate were a little off so took a while finding this one, got it in the end! TFTC
I had the pleasure of heading out for a nice walk with the daywalks for a bit of fresh air. Very nice winter's day to be out and about! The name sounded familiar but I did not realise until later I have already searched for this one at a previous visit! TFTC!!
We checked the cache this morning, and its still in place- perhaps people need to keep away from the prickly stuff and just deal with a couple of spindly broom bushes instead! Its located within 2 m of walk/cycle track.
Nope. Defeated by an abundance of hint objects, a fair few brambles and drained the phone battery.
An afternoon walk up around the Pineapple track to fill in my third last dot day This was my second find for the day and it took quite some time and a PAF. Lots of bikers on this part of the track today and it was twice I had to stay hidden as they went past. I doubt I would have been spotted anyway as they were traveling at quite some speed!!!
A few scratches later and at the third area I searched cache was finally located but very very wet. Managed to dry a little bit and enough to sign my name using my new geopen TFTC

I am not sure why we didn't find this the first time we looked, but all good today. Found with 1sophie1 and Sophie the dog.
Yesterday I drove from Ashburton to Dunedin, and I woke up with my legs crying out for something to do. So today I embarked on my fifth ramble for the Rambler's Reward Challenge.
Last time I was here I made several mistakes on trying to find this one, but today was much more straightforward - somewhere I had considered but not looked. Tftc!

Total failure here. No idea if I even looked up the right tree. Will have to return when I do McGoun's track sometime.
Container wasn't what I was expecting but since it's a replacement of a replacement then that could be why. Sparescoksclub must have been wearing very high platform shoes at time of placement. Hint is still pretty relevant though.
Replaced old container with a fresh one containing waterproof paper and pencil.
Took a bit of hunting but eventually found it. Water poured from cache and book soaked. Couldn’t sign so too pic as evidence of visit.
Third time lucky. Compass was a little more helpful this time so I headed straight to it and walked away smiling. Tftc
As I approached this one my phone tuned out due to a flat battery and I Didn't bring a spare one as I did not plan to be out this long. Anyway after a bit of a poke around I had it in hand. So TFTC
Searched without finding the original container. Replaced with new. see hint
I was having a ball indeed, except the cache was nowhere to be located. A few potential spots, but no luck. Interesting that there are no longs since October, I am sure the weather has not been that poor all this time...
Needed a reason to go for a walk this evening, and this was it. Having dnf'd it previously, it had to be done. Dodged a crowd of two-wheeled muggles and made the find. Phew.
Dogged determination and a keen eye from Mrs Rex spared the blushes here! Great container...TFTC.
Hot day today. Log a bit damp. Thanks. Would help if I had a bit of a think before I headed into the bush and got scratched.
We thought we were in for a bush bash but happily found a bike track that took us straight to GZ. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
No-one out biking today. Mr D spotted the cache. On we went looping back to the forestry road.
Left the road earlier than I should have (not having my tablet with me and too lazy to get my phone out), so I spent a long time bashing through regrowth pine plantation, mixed up with the old brush piles and the inevitable bramble. Finally gave up, headed for the road again, read up on where I was meant to go and headed there. My Garmin spent a long time trying to convince me that it was 'here', while my instincts told me it was 'there'. Instincts finally won and the container was soon in hand. It felt a bit wobbly, I suspect that it may be cracked.

Quick run in the rain round in a circle to find this cache. Top broken, but log signed. Needs new container/replacement lid.
The canine component found this way before I got there. She wishes they were all like this!! I would only have to follow along with the pen... Adding it as a favourite on dogs behalf
Found on 4/09/2015.
A bit wet and muddy today - quickly found.

Nice and muddy to 'test drive' some new trail runners, slid a bit on the way to this one but super grippy soles saved the day.
Thanks for giving me the reason for coming up here.

And the snow started chucking down again whilst I was doing the necessary with this one.
A couple of bikers rode past but they didn't notice the old fella lurking in the bushes. Thanks.
Surprised to find a blank log after two days! It may not be a PnG but it's easily accessible. Hopefully the local cachers aren't becoming a bit lazy TFTC.
