Will need to check as I just read in paper that sewage ponds overflow with the recent flooding.
[^] Found while on our Epic trip from England touring Australia and New Zealand. TFTC.
made a meal of this the gps had me in the bush before common sense prevailed and cache was in hand with log signed TFTC #3348
Another good find on a bit of a trip away.
*Good weather and fun drive around.*

I am not sure what is special to see here. Smell was special. Had no problems to find the hide.

I did an 11K run this morning, stopping several times along the way to look for caches. This one was located at my turnaround point, so I was happy to get here. I spotted the cache as soon as I looked up from my GPS device. Nicely done! I signed the log, then headed back on the trail. TFTC!
Day #16 in New Zealand on a geocaching holiday-trip covering Thailand, Australia and finally my beloved NZ .
Today, at first, I spent some time in beautiful Rotorua to visit some high-grade, handsome caches and to explore the scenic areas of the town . Later the pleasant trip with fair weather took me further up north via the scenic area of Ngongataha to Mount Manganui .
This was by far the most scenic and moving day during my vacation so far! [:X] Sunshine, beautiful scenery and stunning nature-walks and views [:X] [^]
My heart was jumping! [8].... That's why I love this country! [:X]
Of course there were some cool treasures hidden along the walk- and drive-route, that I loved to pick up .
Ended up with 17 finds , including a great earth-cache [^], a breath-taking virtual [:X] [^], two cool challenges , a field-puzzle mystery and several handsome traditional caches at the side of the road . Cool!
This is what I call a clever and funny hide! [^] [:X]
Had a big smile on my face when I identified the container ! Well done! [^]
Hey - owners in Rotorua, way up North and Mount Manganui - you have cool caches [^] !
A big thanks [:X] to all Owners involved [^] for hiding and maintaining .
Cheers from Germany

What a nice day to have taken off as AL to travel up here and go caching. Going for a few then evening break at the spa and might see how many more can get in on the scenic route back to the hotel.
Cache container and log in good condition. Although looks like some previous names have been rubbed off.
Like these clever out in the open caches.

Last morning in Rotorua so Pagenz and I made an early morning trip out before having to head home. Nice wander along here. TFTC
Sorry no pen today. I put the container back in the ground it was knocked over TFTC
A quick find today before the rain set in. Being from out of town don't think I will ever get used to this smell. No rats today TFTC
Chose this cache as part of the 12-12-12 challenge cache. To my dismay the cache seemed to have been muggled. As per previous log but now no log either. Quick email to Co to confirm cache and all good. Placed log in container and Co will maintain promptly. Thanks Davidson Clan for your cache.
Sniffed out this one from a distance ..as we neared the GZ ....smelt a rat ....part of the well constructed cache was there but one end and the log were missing .....found the plastic bag that contained the log near by ....reassembled it all and left a new water proof log as a temporary fill in ....received confirmation from CO that he would carry out maintence thanks Davidson clan for great cache in a new area for me
... so as we head out this way, I have in my head a line from the geocaching guidelines ""When you go to hide a geocache, think of the reason you are bringing people to that spot." mmmm because of the smell??? Anyway we have a wet day for it and I can't really smell anything past the sulphur so all good. No swimming here - really I need a sign to make me aware of that!!!! Easy find, the container I think is missing a part (lid or bottom) but log book dry anyway. TFTC
Running errands in town this morning, and after lunch took sveppi to visit Sulphur Flat for the first time. We enjoyed the views and the walk in spite of the rain. Took a few pictures of the city and the lake under the cloud, mist and steam of the Bay. Just as we were nearing this cache we crossed a strange looking man on the path who was pushing his bike. He turned on a side-trail as we walked past GZ. we finally left the path ourselves and double-backed, only to find the man`'s bike about 15m from GZ, unattended. Sveppi located what looked like would be the cache. I scoped the area towards the bike to ensure we weren't going to be seen retrieving the container, and when I turned around spotted the man walking towards us. I threw the container back in some bushes. He himself looked a bit shifty, trying to hide a slingshot behind his back, until he realised how he must have looked and mentioned he was trying to shoot rabbits... Sometimes I`'m glad to know there are worse weirdos than me out there!
Cache itself appears to be lidless. I also think it may not be in the state and position initially intended by the CO. very visible, but then again maybe nobody will disturb it there...

2232 The joy about Rotorua is that none says that when I might have dropped one. Today though at GZ there was no bad odours of any sort. Nice conatiner.

No smell today. We soon found the cache. We double bagged the log to ensure it stayed dry despite an open end. Also left a minion.
Bruce, I've been wondering about that smell ever since we hit town! Lovely walk around the lake area today and wanted to grab a few caches. My gps wanted me to climb the fence so i had to ignore it to make the find. Great cache, thanks very much.
We're visiting from Florida, USA. That was great fun. Thanks for placing the cache.
Nice easy find for young one she found it all by herself not rats out and about today thanks for the great hunt
Had to get off our bikes to access this cache. Quick find although the container seems to be open on one end. Not sure if the end cap is missing?? TFTC
Out for a morning walk before conference starting at lunch time. Clever cache. No lid on it though so may get wet soon. Thanks for the cache.
26/04/16 15:25 A quick find at the far end of today's wee exercise stroll. And the cache reminds me of something in my shed that I found in Auckland to use as a cache. Thanks for that, Cheers GC.
(1837) Had a wee bit of time to kill in Rotorua, so went for a walk to collect the caches in this area, TFTC
Just the smell of Sulphur today.

Nice!! Left a lil NZ handy tool in there. No RATS to be seen today...thank goodness. Log book slightly damp.
After lunch we had some time for geocaching. We found 3 out of 4 in this interesting area. This was a quick find. Thanks for hiding.
I like this one a lot very sneaky. Took a trackable, will take it to the south island. TFTC
No rats today thank goodness --- just us and this handsome cache
Left a TB that wants to head southwards.
Thank you for the wander along here

Good bike ride with the youngest. She really liked this one. Thanks for the cache. Day one 2016.
Out running In the rain this morning. Need to get my runs in before the family gets up and ready to go
Glad to find this one after three DNF's in the same area !! Great to see something different then a click-clack. Thanks
Lol, love the container, definitely a favourite from me! I was a little apprehensive about coming across rats but luckily none around today! TFTC!
On our twentyfirst day in New Zealand we stayed in Rotorua, searching some caches and visiting a spa.
Enjoyed the walk to the cache site and also the cache itself was quite a surprise for which we leave a fav point. Had to hurry with getting the log signed as a swan headed right into our direction. Couldn't see whether he had a GPS als well....
TFTC and greetings from Switzerland

After been interrupted by a couple of rats we signed the log, good container favourite from us

That is some container! Very appropriate given the location. Last find on a ride through the area on a sunny afternoon, thoroughly enjoyed the whole area! Thanks Davidson clan for your caches!
Thanks for bringing me here How many times have I walked past without knowing. Cache comes apart in centre and is a bit damp inside - always enjoy this area TFTC
After clearing this track some time ago with KmanNZ - when this cache came up I knew another trip here wouldn't be far away. This time I parked at the archery club which lead to a 15minute round trip - excellent. The container was a quick find and quite enjoyable - however not being a local, and finding somewhere worse smelling then... well, Rotorua! meant I needed to get outta here. Cheers DC - I think.
Biked to this one from the carpark to save time and just because. Found quickly and in good condition.

After visiting our daughter in Melbourne and traveled to Sydney we flew on to New Zealand.
We landed in Aukland and rented a car . We typically run on the right side so it was an adventure to drive on the left side.
First night we made in Rotoroua . After a good night's sleep so we went out for a walk with geocaches in sight.
It smells rat. Tftc

Out this way to get a few caches I've been keeping my eyes on for a while. So made a day of it to focus on these caches plus get a few others nearby and in Rotorua.
Didn't take to long to get this one, thought wasn't sure what was worse, the smell here or the natural smell of Rotorua. Neat container, thanks for the hide.

For a moment I thought it was Mrs Geckoh, and she thought it was me, we didn't have the dog with us to blame it on him, luckily we could blame it on the ponds.......
Not sure id ever want to eat Duck or Swan now that I know where they like to swim.......
Nice cache container, easily spotted from the right angle.

4pm - No problems to find this cache, wind was also going in the right direction so there was no smell. SLTFTC
Day 21 of a hopeful 50-day caching streak... Sharing the challenge with Gap (of Fap and Gap).
Gap was quick to organise today's search. We had this arranged for straight after work. At least the rain had stopped, only to be replaced by cold, blustery winds... We drove into the archery carpark and walked along the sewerage treatment plant fenceline... We kept our teeth clenched for fear of breathing in particles (you never know)... Luckily, the wind was blowing from the south and across us. That kept the smell away...
We rounded the sewerage pond and quickly spotted the cache. This was obvious enough... However, the resident sewer rat made itself known as we were signing the log. We cautiously did the business and got out of there before we had any more rodent encounters. TFTC.

Quick find after following the track from nearby cache. Possibly lucky I have no sense of smell. Thanks for the cache Davidson clan.
