Nice to catch up with some familiar faces and also to meet and greet some people who are more recent starters with geocaching. A great idea to bring experience and enthusiasm together. I hope I was able to help in some way. TFTE, Biggles.

A great idea for an event and good to see it well supported by new and old geocachers alike. It was just my luck to have the challenge of helping someone who owns an Apple Mac!TwistedRed FaceSmile But I think I managed to teach them something and I learned a thing or two as well. (On top of already knowing that I should never buy an Apple product.) Big Grin All good fun and a nice social outing. I think it's now up to the new players to host the next session. Razz Thanks Stretch and Niteowlz for hosting the event.

We were so keen to learn about this that we turned up yesterday, nearly got ourselves enrolled in senior net. We had to do a wee bit of a juggle with our day as we had promised the grandkids a trip to Haulashore Island for a picnic today (and so we could get a T5 to complete the road trip challenge). So an early picnic it was and then back to Motueka for a very worthwhile afternoon. Thank you so much for willingly sharing your skills and knowledge, I feel as though I have enough knowledge to give it a go (or at least be dangerous). It was also great to put some faces to the names that have become familiar. Thanks to everyone who supported those of us who are new to this, we really appreciate your time and effort.

MAC users

done a bit of research after event and an alternative program to GSAK found
http://icaching.eu/

also a way of using GSAK on your Mac
http://www.frso.se/index.php/geocaching/how-to-get-gsak8-running-on-os-x

Hope this is of help would also be interested in any feedback on either of them. I have no experience of them but it appears icaching very popular.
At this stage i take a disclaimer on either Smile The MAc is out of my range of knowledge

There seem to be lots of new local cachers starting out who would likely benefit from this sort of get together. Hopefully we see them attending this event you have created. It's on my calendar so I'll see you there.
