Found it.... but it's a bit of a wreck in major need of an overhaul and poss find new placement.
TNLNSL

17-Feb-04
Found it Smile, there was no need to search for the cache as the cache was visable on top of a rock. Looks like the cavern of rocks that use to house the cache has been removed and replaced by a foot path. Cache hadn't been raided by muggles. Contents still in a very bad way.

I had to move the cache backward into the bushes, so it wasn't as visable.

I would recommend it being replaced and/or relocated.

returned with runzz for 3rd time :]

area totally disrupted by building in area, cache in very bad way. we moved it back in to bushes as it was open to the public to disrupt.

easy find... TNLNSL. contents still in bad way, could do with a more waterproof container and a new logbook.

18-Jan-04
visited cache with surgez.

this was my second visit. cache was very wet, all paper work inside sadely ruined. only just now saw the comment of the last visitor, we would have brought equipment to tidy it up again if we had seen before we arrived. :/

took: calgary key ring
left: toy garfield

Found with dysentry. Easy find!

14-Jan-04
What a shame! When we arrived at the cache, it wasn't necessary to search: Everything was laying around, maybe a dog or possum has devastated the place!
Since we were just travelling by, we just placed all the stuff back in the box, but it was all wet and even logging our visit wasn't possible... Maybe one of the local geocachers could return and bring this cache in a better condition?

27-Nov-03
I came to enjoy spring so took advantage of the evening daylight to find a cache close to my hotel. Finding the correct street was somewhat of a challenge as my familiarity with the area is zero. Had to remove a snail from the lid. Log book is wet. Traded Calgary key chain for Australian one

Easy find today on 2nd try, neighbours were watching out the window yesterday. On a visit from Adelaide filled in some time with some caching. Notebook wet but usable. Took nothing, left Adelaide fridge magnet and keyring. Thanks!

22-Nov-03
Relatively easy find (not counting circling the block a couple of times). It just goes to show you never know where a cache might be hiding. Took nothing (Barbara's CD is still there). Left stress ball. Thanks for the cache.

26-Oct-03
OK

04-Oct-03
Found by Brett, Hillary, Peter and Kin Leng.
Took nothing, left nothing. Especially didn't take Barbra Streisand CD... Wink

10-Sep-03
This has definitely got a different view from the normal caches. Well, I suppose we are in an urban jungle. Easy find (not too many places to hide a cache).
Things are a tad damp in the cache.

In: Pentium CPU.
Out: Audio tape.

23-Aug-03
Couldn't believe that it was here. Went around the block to see if anything better presented itself like a park or small clearing, but no.
A neighbour was looking at us the whole time, she was hiding behind a tree.
Nil in Nil out.

01-Aug-03
This was our 2nd Auckland cache. It is a strange place for a cache but it was easy to find and the GPS led us there.

Nice easy cache to find. I first visited the clacker cache then found this one in one trip.

A house is being built very close to this cache, hopefully it will not interfere with the cache.

Took: Nothing
Left: Log book entry.

Our last cache during our visit to New Zealand and a bit of a disappointment. Like everybody else we had to walk the long way round the block and when we found the cache it was poorly hidden and completely open to the elements. Took nothing, left nothing, just signed the log and eventually managed to get the battered lid back on. Sad

By the way, this is just a stone's throw away from my place. The logbook has my cellphone number - give me a call for a cup of coffee (if I'm not out geocaching, that is!)

14-Jun-03
Found this one at night by full moonlight. Still don't know what a zuhe gongju is. Maybe the zuhe gonjus are nocturnal and had left their cache to go look at the moon or eat slugs or do whatever gonjus do at night. Took nothing. Left Epicurean Ellie traveller.

31-May-03
Wary about looking suspicious by the neighbours for this one, but quite an easy find..

18-May-03
the auckland traffic you talk about Gogranny was caused by a rugby match at the nearby eden park (go the blues) tried yesterday as well but gave up to many cars and people , came back today had to know what one of these zuhe gongju was, drove right up to within a few meters of the cache ,
didnt take anything
left a pen (there was none , is now)

Having seen the Zuhe Gongju the Hairy Little Dwarf has, I coveted one for myself. A trip to Auckland (on a very flimsy excuse) was the ideal opportunity to try and find it – and I did! I swopped a zuhe gongju for a Barbra Streisland CD and think I had the better of the deal. I had to park and walk round the block to it – it is difficult to drive and use a GPS, especially with Auckland traffic.

15-May-03
Still there, dry and sealed. Nothing in, nothing out. Took me a while - went all the way 'round the block...

I now know the secret of the Zuhe Gongju.

10-Apr-03
Replaced the waterlogged cache with a new one. It is now in a black ice cream container. Placed a Zuhe Gongju inside.

03-Apr-03
Visited this cache today and it was mostly out in the open, lid off and partly full of water as previously reported. I placed it back but it is pretty much a right off.

01-Mar-03
Arrived to find the cache half full of water so was unable to sign off the log book. Met the cache owner while there which was an added bonus. Always nice to meet fellow geocachers. Took nothing left nothing
Cheers Big Grin

Strange how this one hasn't been plundered....it would have to be the easiest for the day....why can't we have more like this....lol....strange how I seem to be following the hairy little dwarf around Auckland, with him beating me to most of the caches by a day....lol.

Took nil and left nil.

When I saw the ZG was back in residence, I just had to have it Smile So with a hasty and flimsy justification for a 800km round trip to town I have now discovered the joys of a Zuhe Gongju ! I must admit, it wasn't what I was expected - but then again, I had NO idea what to expect. Thanks to Peter for sharing (& Team Ariwa for re-sharing) this little gem with the geocaching community. I'll throw it in a cache later when I've finished playing Smile
- One fabulous example of a Zuhe Gongju
+ One Dinosaur Egg

04-Nov-02
Returned slightly used Zuhe Gongju back to the cache. Cache is in good condition.

02-Nov-02
Found it very easily. Which was great as we haven't had a lot of luck lately.
Drove right round the block first though.
In: Calculator key ring
Out: Spider
zuhe gongju is long gone so I wonder what it really is...

Well, Could have practically driven up to this one, but I parked the car effectively a block away and walked to it, I should have used a street map as well as the topo's. Oh well, it was a pleasant walk. Very easy to find, in fact if I'd used the road map, i suspect without a GPS. Took nothing & left 4x AA Alkaline batteries.

02-Sep-02
Found cache almost immediately. Bit too easy really for fun. We took a blue squashy pyramid and money. Left an R2D2 figurine and a rubber spider. A good cache for newbies.

Willbuild
Found this without the use of the GPS ( I use the CD NZ Mapped which I find very good for the Tpop maps )
Parked beside it ,Rang Peter who came out to talk, I did some building work for him a few weeks ago without knowing about the cache next to me by the gate,
tock the glo stict and left a key ring.

Thanks , Peter,

This was our very first cache! We though we'd pick a nice easy one, close to home to start with and this worked perfectly. We found it without any trouble only the zuhe gongju thingy wasn't there! We called the cache owners phone number as mentioned in the log book just to say hello and after the shortest mobile phone conversation ever he came out to find us! He very nicely gave us another zuhe gongju to take away with us and we left a glo stick in the cache. Rach was positively skipping down the street as we left so all in all it was a very nice first Geocaching experience. Thanks Peter!

parked in the wrong place and walked around the block until we found the street it was on. quite easy to find once you are in the right place. there was no zuhe gongju thing, what is it? Left packet of chalk and took movie tickets

22-Jun-02
Mission Capture The Flag was a success..
At 3pm this afternoon Agent Liz and Agent Steve approached the cache and took captivity of the zuhe gongju. Left a little Allot pyramid and a bottle of shampoo to lead guards into believing the cache had not been tampered with.

In the car Agent Steve's curiousity got the better of him and he spent a good 5 minutes playing with the ZG. Still not sure why this strange item could become part of a family tradition, but Agent Steve is sure he will find a use for it, threatening passerby etc. Sorry for the crappy deposit but I couldn't just leave such an oddity behind and I didn't have anything else to leave.

Agent Steve will return at a later date and deposit something better (another zuhe gongju?)

No Neighbourhood Watch problems. Now i know what a Zuhe Gongju is. But what's the little hammer for? Took nothing, left a couple movie passes.

Got caught with my arm in the hole by the cache owner... nice to meet you Peter

Boo hoo! I missed the reinstatement of the infamous zuhe gongju thingy by by arriving about 10.00 am.

Better go back and have another look soon!

The cache is full view of several houses. I don't know how long it will last before someone local rumbles it. (Hope they're cache friendly...!)

Found this one after a bit street bashing. We took the Zuhe Gongju Red Face, couldn't resist it!. If this is the last one in captivity please let us know and we well release it back into the cache. Left a toothpaste squeezer, never leave home without one.

Excellent timing! - just when the Tofska Team were thinking about going out for a 10 minute lunchtime walk. Just had to find out what a 'zuhe gongju' is. Didn't take it (as that would make the cache meaningless) but left a blank CD ROM and a 'Doofer' (guess where we had lunch!). Glad to know I can always get one from one of my favourite stores. Stress free cache to find - didn't need my GPS.
