With rebel98, the GPS bounced around under the tree cover, I was heading up the bank to a large specimen, when rebel calls out he had found it
Sadly the lid was missing (luckily rebel was able to find it!), the container full or water, and the log saturated. No way I could sign, so have taken a picture.

Nice wee reserve to visit. cache in hand quickly. log a tad wet and needs replacing. no tb as it says.
GPS was all over the place. I was about to give up when I spotted the cache. Logbook wet to the point of disintegrating. TFTC.
Today, It being a non-shopping day, along with the fact that we were meant to be 200kms away out East Cape (but weren't due to the weather at the end of last week), we spent the day collecting a few caches around Rotorua to see a bit of different countryside and make the most of the fine weather that had come out to play.
Setting off from home at 6.30am (nice early start with the good wife) and a quiet drive over here. So it was a concentration on caches we could get to, that weren't roped off as the lake level was too high, and only involved a short walk, as didn't want to leave "wifey" with the car too long as she might leave without me and say "Bugger You" and the caches.
Managed to grab 27 of 27 today which was more than happy as it has left enough to come back to in the future. This was the eleventh of the day and a nice quick find following some breakfast at the "Fat Dog". Nice cache to grab before heading back to the car and carrying on our way.
Although did get myself in the poo by offering to stop for antiques at Tirau on the way back [^], but then informed that as its Easter Sunday all shops are closed and that is the only reason I would offer to stop for a shop, as if
Thanks for the placement and bringing me to this location

This one was not too difficult to find once heading in the right direction. Did manage to do a massive loop around the streets as weren't paying attention to distance lol. Tftc

In Rotorua for a FTF attempt but failed at that so thought we'd carry on and rack up some numbers to get the year rolling.

#8791. Went for a short walk in Tihi Road Reserve in Springfield this afternoon. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find once at the right spot. The log book was a bit damp, but just writeable. Unfortunately, neither Taranaki Hardcore nor Ten years Geocaching in the Netherlands was in the cache.
Dropped off Ignite.NZ 2016 Seattle Ferry Travel Tag

Found this with Kanaberry. The mosquitos had quite the snack on our ankles, the cache was soon in hand. Quickly signed and replaced before hightailing it out of there. Tftc
3 out of 3 this evening for the Tihi Rd reserve Eventually found the little trail to get to this one. TFTC
As per others I went too high. After searching there read logs and came down a bit and there it was. Thanks for the placement
Arrived in Rotorua and quickly grabed the one or other Geocache.

Thanks for placing a geocache here and sorry that I keep my logs short.

Last morning in Rotorua so Pagenz and I made an early morning trip out before having to head home. This little series of 3 was our last in town before back to the motel. Managed to find the cache eventually and Pagenz did the honours here. TFTC
had a peaceful walk around here this morning... shame I didnt have the searchDog with me as he would have loved it too!! TFTC log a bit damp but signable
21/09/16 18:25 Dot Day. Had these caches saved for days like today. Didn't like the weather though - glad I saved this 'til the last item on today's to-do list as I'm now soaked... cache all good, used the hint as in the rain, if not permanently, GZ was an indicated 9m uphill. Thanks for this, Cheers, GC.
Had some business in Rotorua this afternoon and once that was finished decided I'd grab a few caches in and around town, with a bit of a focus on a few particular caches a bit further out from central, before heading back to Hamilton via Tokoroa. Managed to find all bar one that I attempted, getting home about 10pm and finding about a dozen caches.
The rain had just started so I threw on the raincoat and headed off to GZ. Managed to park a lot closer to GZ than first thought with this series which was nice with the rain starting. Took a few moments to locate but I GPS was bouncing around alot so only put me in the rough area. The cache was a little out in the open so covered a bit better. Thanks for the hide.
Find #1 for the evening.

Find #1 for the evening.
This was just around the corner from our accom and we knew the area from buying our fish 'n' chips nearby last night.
The weather was shocking this morning, but we wanted at least a few finds, so thought these ones looked doable.
We made this one far harder than it needed to be when we realised where it was once we finally found it. Yes, we bush bashed all over the place, but no foliage was harmed if you don't count wandering willie.
We left a nodding head dog, I'm not sure if he would be obedient enough to be off his lead in this park.

On our school holiday adventure checking out more of the good things around Rotorua. Before heading further south thought we would stretch our legs a bit after a morning at the luge. Bit of a scramble through the trees for this one.
#2473. We are staying up in Rotorua for a couple of days with family. I had some free time this afternoon so headed off to pick up a few of the local caches. This one took about 5 minutes to find as I went too high initially and searched around quite a few trees. Dropped back lower down and spied the cache immediately. The log was dry. Signed and returned cache as found. Thanks for the cache.

My coords were a bit out. More down hill than where I first looked. Then I saw the obvious telltale, and the smiley was mine. Thanks.
Off to Hamilton today. Ice on the car in Rotorua, Brrr.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Me ship mate fired the Canon across the way from our land luber batch. Who would have thought we would find treasure while retrieving the Canon ball. HAH! TFTC
Bit of a damp mission in rain through the wet Wandering Jew --- and the cache was all exposed, so covered it a bit up after signing the log --- Log book is very damp too.

After ages of not caching, nice to find this one. Log book quite damp, but signed ok, dropped off Tb. Thanks.
Took us a short search to locate the cache. Thanks Davidson Clan. Nice hide Log is a little wet
On a bit of a geocaching trip away with Just-Lookin & Princess Emily.

Bit of wandering around as my gps suggested cache was 10m from where it was but soon found what I was looking for. Tftc
Didn't take too long to find this cache. Could hear the birds chirping away and a neighbour mowing their lawns. Dropped a tb tftc
I parked on the road nearby, then climbed the hill. I grabbed a small tree for support and the whole tree fell over. I swear I am not overweight. Then I came upon a geotrail and followed that to GZ. TFTC Davidson clan.
Decided that these caches would be a good way to finish my first sweep of Rotorua to clear the new caches. I have made a good dent in them and have done about 20 odd today. A lot for me and I don't know how a few other cachers do heaps more in a day. This is my limit Nice cache but I think I took the long way - maybe my GPS was also telling me it had done enough TFTC
Wandered around here with jesserfly and we stumbled across some suss camouflage, and indeed was the container we desired.
Nifty hide here added a (8)

In town today to test out some new bikes for work so once that was finished I had time to find some caches.
I made this much harder than it should have been, but the gps was bouncing around and as I was about to give up I spotted something and viola, another smilie.

4pm - 7th day of our 50 day challenge. We arrived at GZ only to find contents of cache spread down the track, log sheet all okay so were able to sign it. Gathered up contents and returned to cache owner for him to place back correctly. Will be back over the next few days to collect balance in area. SLTFTC
Day 7: The continuing adventure to log 50 caches on consecutive days (A 50-Day caching streak)... On this mission with Gap (of Fap and Gap).
Gap had a small job in the area. So it made sense to look for one of the caches in Tihi Reserve. We chose this one for today's target. This baby was a quick find... Unfortunately, the cache and contents were strewn across the ground. Gap gathered up all the bits, we signed the logbook and carried the cache out as we departed. It's best for the CO to come in and resite this... TFTC.

A quick dash of geocaching with sveppi before leaving town on a mild Sunday afternoon. Approaching from below would be a better option, and watch out for the dog poo at GZ! Good sized container, thanks.
With fanfan-77 on a short Sunday afternoon geocaching walk in the reserve. Got our feet wet in the weeds growing in the area but found the cache easy once the title hint hit me. TFTC
After a DNF, I couldn't leave this behind. Spotted quickly as I had a good idea from the title what I was looking for... Great cache to finish up the birthday round! Thanks very much again DC for the top caches!
It is time to tidy up all the caches which have mushroomed up during out absence.
V4LIFE! Yay DC's breakfast.
V4LIFE! Yay DC's breakfast.
We cringed at the sight of all the wandering jew covering the ground, were we supposed to find a cache in that with no hint? We followed crushed tracks leading through the weed trying to home in on GZ but it was hopeless, decided to give up and were on our way back down to the car when Punga spotted it, couldn't believe our eyes. That was a stroke of luck as our GPS was pointing over 6m away. TFTC.
Quick find back here for third cache. Used to run here often but not been here in ages and niw 3 times in three weeks! Still a great little park
A quick find by mr frewilys. Never expected such a big container.thanks Davidson clan
Its been on a nice little adventure. Allowed it to stay in rotorua till someone else finds it.

Argh! I have such bad luck with hides that are under coverage. I try avoid them at all costs. I spent forever trying to get a GPS lock on this one, but no luck whatsoever. After finally getting a lock after what felt like an eternity it lead me to the right spot. I spent another 30mins just searching for a "V Can" assuming that's what the cache was. I completely struck this one by accident with my foot and then the a-ha moment when the title all made sense. Thanks DavidsonClan for another challenging find!
Yusssss! My first FTF I love this place, close to home and so serene. Thanks for the cache Davidson Clan!!!!
