My second DNF redemption today. I thought 4pm would be a terrible time to attempt this, but no, I was the only one there. A very easy find now that the cache is actually there. As everyone else has pointed out, the coordinates are out here, small dogs are a cachers best friend here. Thanks for this cache Clare007.
Great to finally find this one. Coordinates a bit off but clue gave us the find. Cheers
It looks like someone might of taken it because we looked all over and could not find any geo catch
On the wrong side of the fence, but a great place to take dogs for a run.
Southern Autumn adventure Day 51. Mid North section of SA trip Day 22. Mount Barker 2. Today and yesterday and tomorrow are really transitional to me getting to Mildura in time to do the Paddle Steamer with friends from Canberra. I journeyed to a spot about 35km South of Loxton near a location called Veitch via Murray Bridge an Karoonda for lunch. Before I left I spent an hour or so near Mount Barker having a final go at a few multis with difficulties and other local caches. The rain started while I was out and did not let up for the rest of the day. As I traveled, I did manage to stop a few times, getting wetter all the time, but I was keen to find some caches. At the final stop for the day I found a remote patch of roadside rest area and sat quietly till it was time to leave the next day.
hmm, yes, eventually. wrong yard twice, or so it seemed and the rain had really set in now so changing was got me quite wet. when I got to the obvious spit on the right side I was happy to find it.
Thanks for the cache clare007

Really quick find, but the ants had made it a home! I took the absolute last half-spot on the log sheet, and unfortunately as I didn't plant to do any caches today I didn't bring any supplies. Maybe the next finder could bring some insect surface spray as well as a replacement log strip!?
Had to jump the fence to get this one as coords were almost 20m out.
Log book full too.

As with so many health and wellness questions, the answer to “how much exercise is enough?” depends on your dog—their age, breed, energy level, and personality. However, all dogs who are able to move benefit from daily exercise.
30 minutes a day is perhaps the most frequently cited daily exercise quota. And for some dogs that’s ok. If you’ve got a toy-breed dog, or a less active breed like a bulldog, you can start with three walks a day totaling about 30 or 40 minutes. You may find your dog has more energy for playtime beyond that, so look for any behavior that indicates boredom or frustration.
For many dogs, though, you should be aiming for at least one hour per day of exercise. If you have a healthy adult dog, this is a good baseline.
Older dogs: Everyone slows down at a certain point, but it’s important to keep your healthy senior dog moving. Daily walks and other regular exercise help keep your dog’s joints and ligaments supple, helping to stave off or reduce pain and inflammation. Slowing down too much on exercise becomes a vicious cycle as immobility begets immobility, which increases the risks of joint issues as well as obesity and all its related ailments. If your dog appears to be in pain while walking, see your vet.
Small dogs: Though a dog’s need for exercise may vary according to their breed, it’s important to note that size isn’t as big a factor as you may think. Note that standard exercise principles should also apply to small dogs. Many small dogs miss out on crucial exercise (and training) because it’s perceived they just don’t need it, or are happy being carried or wheeled around.
Even when it comes to breeds like Chihuahuas, most dogs benefit from at least two to three walks and at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. Owners should consider the length of their dogs’ legs relative to human legs when exercising, and their relative speed is much faster compared to a larger dog. Therefore, they may actually be in better shape compared to some larger dogs. One condition to watch out for is luxating patellas (something common in Chihuahuas)—it may limit dogs’ capabilities for things such as jumping, and it may predispose them to develop cranial cruciate ligament rupture if uncorrected.
Puppies: If you have a very young pup, it’s commonly recommended to take it slowly when it comes to walking and more strenuous exercise and to avoid over-exercising while puppies’ bones are still growing. But, puppies still need to play and move. Puppies should play when they want, and rest when they want. Play, running and tumbling are all important in puppies to strengthen supporting muscles, tendons, and ligaments, and to help them develop balance and agility. It is important to make sure that large and giant breeds are assessed for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and osteochondritis dissecans during vet visits—too much exercise with these conditions will hasten the progression of arthritis and may be detrimental.
I attempted this one 2 weeks ago, but it was too hot, or so I thought. Today I tried to take the same shortcut but that isn't the right approach. You need to drive on dirt. I visited the small dogs area, but the cache GZ is not there. I went all the way round to the big dogs area and nothing at GZ. I read the description. I returned all the way back round to the small dogs area and signed the log. By this time I had gathered the attention of dog owners, wondering what the truck I am doing there without a dog. Find #8080 at 5.40pm. This one took longer than most of the multi's in town, but I got there eventually. Note that the cache is 18.8m from GZ. Cache in good condition, but room is at a premium on the log.

Staying in Mt Barker with iluvtrekking for the long weekend. We’ll did get there eventually- after being strong side and 20 mts out. Co-ords need to be adjusted. Thanks clare007
Awesome and fun spot, cool cache! However it is a little of coordinates but still a fun cache
As I arrived at GZ I was asked where my dog was so without giving too much away I left without a search.
Quiet morning no one else around which was helpful. Turning a previous frown upside down. spent most of my time searching on the wrong side of the fence due to inaccurate coords. Got it in the end. TFTC
Full time nomads exploring SA. We headed out with a list hoping to complete all of the multi caches that we had started on Monday afternoon. Once the list was completed we found ourselves in Nairne so we decided to tackle the AdLab before heading home. Of course it took us way longer than we expected.
sadly our day finished with a DNF too.

Could the CO check these coordinates? They were 17 m out during my visit, and there appears to be similar and consistent comments on these inaccurate coordinates in several past logs.
I had GZ at S 35° 05.161' E 138° 51.105'.
I had GZ at S 35° 05.161' E 138° 51.105'.
This evening, I travelled to Mount Barker to visit Laratinga Wetlands (including for an organised event), find a few suburban geocaches, as well as to complete the *Hills Sculpture Trail* Adventure Lab. I really enjoyed the wetlands and it appeared to be quite popular with visitors. The geocaches visited around the area seemed to be mixed with success.
My first impression of this spot was how noisy the electricity was above me! The dog park was interesting and extensive, and thankfully there were no dogs or muggles around this evening.
I had all sorts of trouble at this geocache. I looked and searched around, and then used the hint to deduce the likely spot a little distance away. With what felt like exhausting all those hiding locations, I made a PAF who helped to clarify where I needed to go, which was more further away yet again. Eventually with that hint, I searched more, and came across the cache in a nicely hidden spot. The cache container and logbook were in good shape.
There appears to be consistent logs that mentions the inaccuracy of this geocache, with my find today being 17 m away from the posted coordinates. I had GZ at S 35° 05.161' E 138° 51.105'. Even through plotting the coordinates on Google Maps, it is very easy to see that the posted location is quite different to its hide. It would also fix up what is likely the root cause to the many DNFs posted at this geocache. Perhaps the CO can review the coordinates, check the numbers, and update if necessary? Otherwise, thanks clare007 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A reasonably thorough search with the odd Dog Muggle far enough away yielded no find today.
{checked all the logs and the shelter, if that's where it's hidden}
A very friendly curious pooch inspected me. I should have got him to sniff it out for me ha ha
10:55 on 17/11/20 a DNF for me here today

Today after attending my early birds event in north Adelaide I Alex see to head east towards Monarto to complete some of the walking trails before heading to strath and back home via the back roads collecting caches. All up 72 finds for the day
Thanks for the cache

A caching day had been planned with Doctor Owl and it was decided that we would come down to Murray Bridge for a couple of new caches, then head out to a couple of solved puzzles and find any others that we came across heading back to Mount Barker. [^]
A great day of finding caches, driving some wonderful back roads, walking and climbing trees, and by the time we had finished we were both tired but very pleased with what we achieved.
I got there, eventually.... this was a nemesis cache for me and today was my fourth visit. I was glad to see that the cache had been replaced so we made this one our last for the day just as it was starting to rain.
I had sussed out the hide, probably read all the logs on my last visits so knew where the cache would be and Owl spotted it very quickly. We were lucky that there were no dogs in this park but we were watched from the other side of the fence, but those dogs didn't know what we were doing. Cache was retrieved...with a bit of a stretch, log stamped and replaced. Now to head home.
Thanks for the cache clare007.

Owl had a terrible week and needed a caching break. Fortunately, JJ52 was in the same situation, so they joined forces for fun, frivolity, long drives in the country and as many caches as they could lay their hands on. Owl came home in a much better frame of mind, so aims satisfied! This was the last of the day and a nemesis cache for JJ. Fortunately the only dogs were in the other park, so Owl could do her stretching only watched by 2 large huskies on the other side of the fence. Fortunately JJ already knew about the 20 metre inaccuracy or it might have been a lot more difficult.
Had organised to come up to Mt Barker and surrounds with Michells&hound to find some of the newer caches that we both hadn't found. We had a shaky start, but once we got into the swing we ended up having a successful day, although we had to resort to a couple of PAF's.
The day was mostly spent visiting churches and old buildings and I ended up finding 11 multis the most I have ever found in a day.
After a previous DNF and with new logs and updated coordinates I was keen to come and find the cache. We had the park to ourselves but even after reading previous logs and knowing we were in the right side and after lots of searching we still could not find or feel the cache.
Will keep a watch, thanks anyway clare007.

Today was a day of caching in and around Mount Barker with JJ52. I think my caching mojo was way off, navigation skills poor (missed both turnoffs to Mount Barker too busy chatting so a bit of a detour to Callington!), cache hunting poor, meaning more than one Paf. But in the end 19 caches found by me and 25 by JJ52. It was a good day out despite the heat. Lots of multis found, lots of churches visited and lots of Mount Barker history gleaned.
Hoped for a quick find here In the empty dog park but alas despite a long and thorough search we came up with nothing. TFTH

The usual Wednesday out with a couple of the Puzzled animals. Consisting of a KORF, Adder and a Rat. The plan was to clear out Mount Barker including a few previous DNF's.
Yes we did get there eventually. With our previous visit and search abandoned due to Muggle's and dogs playing around the given GZ we returned today in the hope that the area would be empty. Nope there were muggles here today as well. Reading through a few of the logs we learnt that the co ordinates were out so adjusted the GPS'r to find the cache was hidden exactly where we had lunch on our previous visit with no muggles in that area. If only we had checked previous logs then.
Signed and returned as found.

A fish, A Rat and a snake were out on their weekly Wednesday Wanderings.
Today we cached around Mount Barker.
We arrived at gz and started to search, a muggle walked over to us and asked if we geocachers.
The Fish read recent logs.
We looked around the the Rat spotted the cache.
So over to the other park.
Cache located and log stamped. tftc

A trio of animals went Wednesday Wandering in Mt Barker and have now pretty much cleaned up town.
The cache name sounds relevant to my traveling companions, given their previous failed attempt. ttrogg came to the rescue for the second time today by providing a better set of coords.
Thanks for the cache clare.

The usual Wednesday wanderings for the troupe of Puzzled Puzzlers animals was planned for Murray Bridge however at the last minute the KORF (Sushilord) sent a message telling us that he was not feeling up to the day's outing, the plans were changed to target Mount Barker, the home town of the Starfish who had already cleared out all the hides which left only the Adder and the Rat to seek out the hides.
Searching for somewhere to have lunch we had hoped a shelter was available somewhere close to our location.
Arriving near GZ there was a suitable place in the smaller of the parks. The cache however was on the other side. No matter we will have lunch and then enter from the other end to make the find.
This was not to be as Muggles and their dogs arrived so a search was not safe.
Not a DNF but a DNA (attempt)

Found while out hunting traditionals in and around Mount Barker.
Cache was found about 20 meters, and over a fence, from where I had GZ. Have included my take on some better co-ords.

I joined up with Aussie Mary and BratKat to find a few caches and then a yummy dinner. We were targetting caches most hadn't found with a few others as we were passing.

This is a great use of land that would not be ideal for housing considering the towering giants nearby. Lovely little park for the 4 legged children.
Mary made the find here with mogni assisting in the hunt.

Movement away by muggles. A bit more of a look and voilà, the find was made. Woof!
With part of GZ destroyed and reading the hint. I don’t think the cache is still there. Could be wrong as I only had a quick look before muggles arrived.
Had to come up to Mount Barker this afternoon so while I was here I looked for a couple of caches. [^]
Stopped off here and had to wait for a muggle to move on before I could start looking.
Didn't have enough time to have a really good look as I had an appointment in town. I will be back.
Thanks clare007.

Searched high and low, got frustrated then excited, great spot. Well played.
Out for the day with Sebastbat and Jack.
Last time I came there were millions of muggles
Today, just one and when she saw us she just lingered and fed her two dogs.
Eventually we got in and Sebastbat located the tiny cache.
Thanks for bringing us here clare007 , and thanks for another fun smiley

i came, i looked, muggles came, i left. I do believe it's there just needed more time.
DNF's on this one - coords were out - read the logs and tried the close shed which was empty. Gave up as the other one was full of muggles.
Goodness the rain started to come but luckily I was under this structure. There was also someone else here so had to wait ten minutes before they went away. Looked and looked and then read other logs. Got it! Was easily retrieved and signed. Nice park and was a good walk to get here. Number 6 of 9 for a very successful day. TNLN. Cheers.
Yes I got there eventually as well. Came back for second try and spotted. Used hint but cache too far in do had to resort to using 2 magnetic tools( no luck) then small tweezers. After 10 minutes success was mine. A great spot fir dogs to enjoy themselves. TFTC and a fav point
