This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache.
If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 28 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

With my plans cancelled for the rest of my holiday, I was free to do whatever I felt like. Naturally, this meant geocaching. Heading south from Bourke, I came to this cache. I spent over an hour searching here without luck. Time to move on.

Together with my son I embarked on a six day road trip from Sydney via Bathurst, Parkes and Dubbo to Bourke and back to Sydney via Mudgee. In total we clocked over 1,700 kilometers and along the way we stopped almost 90 times for grabbing a roadside cache.
Day 3 of our trip took us from Dubbo to Bourke, our furthest point West.
We sat down, I even put my ear on the rails, but there was no sound of any approaching train. But I did hear the faint call from a geocache beckoning to be found.

Hi there Bourkebornandbred.
We found your cache **"The old railway #2"** at 12:14:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 17336).
Today was a travel day, so we found caches as each opportunity presented itself. We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes hidden along the way from Nyngan to Bourke. Today we found 7 caches (& DNF'd 1). Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards

Tagging along with the "Rats" on holidays has it's advantages, not only do we get to see our cool country but we also get to do a heap of caching as Dad just can't help himself and has to stop at every cache he can.
Heading across Australia on nearly every dirt road possible we stopped and found your cache as part of our adventure and for that, I thank you! Sorry about the log being a "cut n paste" but tthats just because we stopped at so many caches.

The Rats and mini rats found this cache as part of our Purposeful Meander across Oz where we visited every mainland state in 8 weeks.
Apologises for the late log in some cases but we are only just catching up on our logging now that we have arrived back home. Your cache makes up many of the great memories we now have from the adventure. The faceplate style log doesn't detract from the experience we had finding the cache.
Thanks

#7312 - 15:40; Day 29 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965, so signing logs as A.L.F.S. After attending the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs and then heading north to Darwin, we are now headed for home. After a night in Charleville we were on our way again. Today we were headed for Nyngan via Cunnamulla, Enngonia, Bourke, Byrock, Coolabah and Girilambone. Sadly, a couple of the earlier towns are currently cacheless Most of the caches we located were in good order, including this one, which we located a bit quicker than the previous similar cache! 13773. Next find of Day 19 of the Red Centre Experience Roadtrip. Heading South through QLD into NSW.
I flew into Alice Springs to meet up with my caching mates Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n (signing mostly as ALFS) to attend the Red Centre Experience and then venture up north to Darwin and then east into Qld before heading south for home - a three week caching trek.
Next stop for the day. A bit quicker find than the last one ! Signed the log, replaced the cache, and headed off to the next one.

This was a fun little where I go that only took about 30 minutes to complete. Visited a few of the local historical sites that were all interesing in themselves.
Thanks for the fun......

Our GPS units were behaving somewhat erratically at this location. However after a few minutes, the GPS settled and mining commenced. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Bourkebornandbred for the cache.
Forst find in a very long time. Had a work call out to Bourke and thought I'd give this another go.
Cairns trip 2016. Day 2. As I head further west I traveled through Nyngen & Bourke to stop a bit north of the border at a creek side rest stop. The day was dry but I had mixed results from my caching in some remote areas of Australia.
Thanks.

Just picking up some caches today on our way along the Mitchell Highway heading towards Bourke, as well as a selection of caches in and around town. This cache was just waiting for a cacher to come along and pick it up. There was no problem spotting it from a distance and when the log had been signed it was placed back where it had been found. Thank you Bourkebornandbred for another cache along our route.
On our way through New South Wales we came to this cache.
It is a nice and long journey.
The weather is sometimes sunny and sometimes rainy.
Thank you very much for leading us here and hiding the cache.
Greetings from Switzerland,
