Happy to return to this multi, after being unable to complete it previously, due to missing info/signage. In my determination to get out whatever the weather, I probably spent longer in the rain than necessary as it quasi 'cleared up' a little in the early afternoon. By then, I was pretty sodden, so it hardly mattered! A lot more sheltered here than other locations I've been today. Cache is in good order and it wasn't raining during my visit here (hallelujah!). We are so spoiled here, with our beautiful beaches! Note, my final co-ords have a checksum of 49, not the 45 indicated, and were spot on. TFTC GSEL
Have checked on this. There is a new sign so have adjusted the questions but final is in same spot. The fire sign is still there but too faded to be useful. Replaced log paper in cache.
**taybee** is caching again with **taybee nz** for the dayQuick find here today **taybee nz** did the aper work on this onePS he log book is full All in good order, sign log book as **taybee** or **TB's** *joint sign* ) TFTC Cache was found at **05/02/2024 @ 11:02:00**
Gathered the necessary information and even sighted the cache some time ago but at that time the area was too busy to extract and sign safely so had to walk away. Returned this morning to a much quieter beach. Still had a couple of dog walkers to quietly avoid once they were on their way we were able to pick up where we let off. Took me a couple of minutes to remember where it was a re sight it then I sent in minicacher #1 to get it, although he got a little distracted trying to see over the fence and I had to retrieve him and the cache together. Tftc
Less than 100m from our Airbnb this was a must do for us. Day 1 we took pictures of the signs only. Day 2 we quickly calculated the coords. Day 3 we had time to look but too many muggles and we simply couldn't spot it.Day 4 we tried again and instantly put our hands on it. It wasn't as much around the corner as we thought but all hints are helpful. One sign is very faded but you can guess the answer and with checksum we made the last one work as the sticker on the sign is peeled. Absolutely doable though. Thanks for placing and maintaining Apologies for the late log. It appears that we are nearly as bad as armchair loggers. We actually DO go out and find the caches but because we plan to write up longer and nicer logs at home we also can (read: often do) forget to do so. We could blame the teen and toddler, but travelling the world then moving into a new country unexpectedly (NZ) means we were always busy and now have 500logs to catch up on they are all from drafts so the date of the log will be when we actually visited (not today) which will align with the physical paper log but not CO receiving this email.
Nice day for a ride through QEII park to Paekakariki. And some caching. Thanks GSEL
Trouve ! / Found it ! L'indice C est certes un peu effac mais toujours visible, juste peut tre pas 5m 4396me cache trouve.Merci GSEL pour la cache The C index is certainly a little faded but still visible, just maybe not at 5m 4396th cache found.Thank you GSEL for the cache
No need to rewrite the questions. You just need more attention to detail Mr TS. The information about the fires is on a separate sign nearby.
This was going to be my first cache for the day but I cycled straight past and so my second cache became my first. I paid a bit mort attention on the way back and managed to get it right.Or not. There are now two blue and white signs, and no sign mentioning fines for lighting fires on the beach, so it would help if the questions were re-written. Basically four possibilities, maybe just two. But I made a couple of good guesses and got some likely coordinates on my first attempt. And found the cache . There were a couple of fellas at GZ prepping for some surcasting. One fella had caught some kahawai and red cod here a few days ago and was hoping for similar luck today. I told them what I was doing. They hadn't heard of geocaching so I gave them the one minute introduction.---Today is a multi-cache dot day, and it's a nice day too, and a non-work day, so I and my bike decide to go somewhere further afield. I picked Paekkriki as there are other multis there, so I can do some pre-solves and so come out after work on some later dot days. And there are a bunch or other unfound caches. Not that many, so only half a day in total.Another multi dot day done, only another 32 to go...
Parked on the street at WP1, where the variables stood ready to be extracted. They were easily found. Even the one on the other sign. I did fumble one, however, by noting one that was not under the stated column. But a quick adjustment satisfied the checksum.GZ was quickly reached, and the hunt was on. It took a bit of time, and once it was found, my phone measured about 3-5m away from my coordinate. No biggy, though, as I can see where I went wrong as per my DNF.Cache and log were in excellent condition. Afterward, I checked out the view and the nearby outdoor woodwork. Very nice. Thanks for bringing me out here.Cheers.Sleepy was here!
#315.Worked out the coordinates myself bar B. I need to pay attention more thanks to some help via PAF. I got sand in my eyes with the windy day but that's part in parcel with GC.TFTC.23 of 30 - Monthly Multi Streak.
# Out enabling Kimmy+co on the fill my calendar quest...Was a quick find once we got to the final, the longest part was me gettign the photos so we could solve in the ca as it was starting to get wet, and because I was being a scatterbrain i did not find all the answers first go #
Hmm, the numbers were a quick sort, the location made sense, but the cache was not present where I looked, and I did search for some time.
I had to unexpectedly travel to Wellington today for a medical appointment. Fortunately my son was happy to do the driving and we did manage to squeeze in a little bit of very select caching.
We had gathered the necessary information and numbers for this cache on a previous visit but had run out of time to look for it. It was pleasing therefore to complete the find today, although we had trouble getting the GPS to settle. The cache was eventually found about 6m from where the GPS was indicating. It was duly signed and returned as found. TFTC GSEL

A nice quick find of the info and a quick wander to collect the smiley. Cheers. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off for a wee break "up north" and today we cruised over to Paekakariki. Cyclone Gabrielle is being felt here, but not nearly as badly as it is further north.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

A quick sidetrip after dinner, (where we could watch the extended news coverage of cyclone Gabrielle). Still managed a few caches on our way here from Petone. Not as sunny as some of the other fotos but I managed to stay on my feet in the wind. Thanks GSEL
Popped out here early this morning with the boys as we had to be back before lunch. Attempted to solve the clues but one eluded us and we had to use the check digit to find the answer. Got to GZ and the clue didn't make sense and realised we had gone a little to far. After searching quite thoroughly we stumbled across the cache whilst the boys caught cicada beetles nearby and put them to battle with each other. Thanks for the cache... MycroMan and Ezratar were dissapointed they didn't see any penguins..
Nice adventure finding it on a gorgeous hot sunny day. Lots to look at in the lane. TFTC
Part 2, Day 5. Part 2 is meeting my husband at Wellington and going on a car trip around the lower North Island.
Part 1 was a girls trip with graciesgpsfun, Ethness, Jude_E and me. Jude_E dropped me off at Nelson airport and I flew to Wellington.
Thanks for creating this hide. It was our last find. Today was a tricky day as C:geo had crashed.

Found, eventually. Took me much longer than it should have, because my ability to count appeared to have deserted me. A simple error, but it took three recalculation to spot it. Cache found after a short search. All good, tftc!
Stopped off while doing the Adventure Lab tour of Paekakariki. Found in the third place I looked. I always have to convert instructions like “chest high” as I’m only 5’2”! Got there by looking at head height. TFTC
Having a nice walk around the town and was going past this multi. The kids answered the questions but the cache hide was a bit trickier and they went off to collect shells whole I searched for and eventually found the cache. Thanks
Out for a walk doing the not so boring Adventure Lab caches. Stopped here on the way back. Did the sums and found the cache in about the third place I looked. High tide at the moment. Nice views.

3.00pm. In the caravan park for three days and after a wet windy day and night enjoyed a walk in the sunshine. A quick easy multi.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Finally got this straight forward cache which has been bugging me for a while . there is no good reason why it caused so much trouble but finally it was located and signed and then returned.
We visited Wgtn for my bro in laws birthday and went out took him out to lunch as he is in a serviced apartment at Woburn and this was a must stop on our way down. .
I took nothing and left nothing . Thank you for this cache

Exactly as advertised, a quick multi that did not take long to complete. All quiet at the final location for a quick find. TFTC
Nice to convert this missing-cache blue face to a smily on our way past, thanks GSEL!
I stopped to check on this one while heading north to an event in Ashhurst. The cache was still in the same location I left it. Seems to be in good order so returned where found. North side, chest high.
I loked twic at the worked out co ords which ceratinly seemed totally logical but still came away empty handed even with help from CO so either i didn't look hard enough or its gone missing i will put a watch on this
thanks
thanks
Thanks to a nasty storm taking out this cache I was forced to log a DNF here just over 3 years ago (where did that time go?) Great work by the CO had it back up and running in no time... My effort, not so good! Was in the area today so stopped by for a nice easy find and finally I say goodbye to that ugly blue sad face. TNLNSL TFTC
Description has been updated to remove all ambiguity (I hope) from questions as its meant to be a simple beginners multi. There are three signs to locate to complete the multi, all are just a few metres apart. The final is less than 100 m away.
DNA in the end. Although this is supposed to be a simple multi, we had problems with two questions:
C - we could find no fine amount given for a beach fire - just that such fires weren't permitted.
Y - appeared to be a trick question. Were repeated letters only to be counted once?
We may try again if we can sort these issues.

I was up on the Kapiti Coast today so stopped to see if this one had survived the winter storms. It was still in the same place I last left it so all good here. Covered with a stick and left as is. About waist height on adult. Cheers GSEL
The description says this is a "simple multi suitable for beginners and people with limited mobility". I guess the fact that I'm not a beginner nor have limited mobility was the hinderance with the several silly mistakes I made that are so typical of simple multis. It was a quick find after all the stuffing round with the numbers. TFTC # 13,756
found quickly today with the kids (was missing last time I looked), had a walk along the beach afterwards, thanks GSEL for setting up this multi and TwigNZ for the extra hint
Another outing down the Kapiti Coast for my lad and I, making the most of some fine weather to keep pushing my numbers up in the hope that I can attain my 1000th cache on the WENZ weekend itself.
Having just been up and down the Paekakariki Hill, I thought I would swing by and try for a few nearby caches which I've been meaning to have a look for for some time now. Parking up near the first Waypoint, we were soon gathering our information together. We struck a small glitch when the answer for C wasn't apparent, but confident in our other answers, and helped by having a Checksum to work with, the reverse calculated answer seemed right.
So a quick stroll down to the final, and it appeared at first glance that this would end up being a quick park n grab. However, after a few minutes searching we had drawn a blank. There were a few muggles walking around, so we killed a bit of time having a muck around on the beach waiting for them to go, after which we had another search. Still no luck, and we were just about to call it a day when I thought I'd just check 1 last thing out, and I was glad that I did.
If that's where the original container way, then I have severe doubts that a rogue wave would get it. I left it where I found it, hidden with a bit of natural camo. The only error I made was that I have signed all of my logs today as being the 30th, instead of the 29th - doh! Thanks for the cache.

Nice to turn a blue frown into a yellow smiley. Have a couple of nights up at Raumati while here for work so a good opportunity to make a grab as driving past. Miserable weather all the way from Wellington. Rain stopped before Paekakariki so all good with searching. Took a lot longer than it should have, not helped by having the old hint stored on my phone and searching in the dark. Got there in the end. Thanks for the cache.
Hmm not sure if global warming got hold of it or the hands of a beach clean-up person. Hard to see a wave taking this one out. Anyway a replacement pill container with a small piece of write in the rain paper is now planted at the most recent hiding spot. Get in quickly before the next wave hits the beach or some local beach cleaner sucks it from its hiding spot.
New cache container in place and awaiting your visit. Make sure you put in a DNF if you can't find it as this hiding spot seems prone to disturbance.
Looks like global warming is catching up with this cache. I will attempt to make it more secure. Will have to wait until I get back from overseas.
Was in Paekakariki today picking up some caches around the southern end of QEII Park and thought I'd stop by for this one. Getting the coordinates wasn't an issue and the cache itself was a straightforward find. TFTC
I'd gather the info for this some time ago when I did the Paekakariki Escarpment and finally today I remembered to duck off SH1 on the way north to stop and get this. Fantastic day for a stroll on the beach but a quick stop to sign this cache first. TFTC.
Went up the coast a bit to get my July numbers up. Quickly obtained the necessary information and a quick trot followed with the cache in hand. Being a Monday morning it was very quiet at the GZ. All in order. TFTC

Checked on this one today and it seems the cache has gone missing again. Looks like this beach has some life. I have repositioned the cache which requires one digit to change. Will adjust the clues. A new container and log are present. Will add new hint.
All ready to find again. Hopefully this one lasts longer than the previous replacement!
#8702. Parked on Ames Street in Paekakariki for a short walk. No problem gathering the required information. Final GZ was all quiet when we visited. Found after a short search. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. It was no longer a 200ml sistema though. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

We like stopping for nice quick multi's and nice end stage for the cache. Day two of our road trip with jordiporsche from hawkes bay to welly and return. Log signed as b&p.Tftc GSEL. Find # 3280
I checked on the cache today and it had gone. Clearly the big tides and storms in recent months have affected this cache. So have put in a replacement container. Make sure its covered well so it doesn't get muggled. Hopefully the 1 in 50 year storms wont be back again next year.
Nice little multi. Quickly compiled the required data and headed off along the short walk to the final. No muggles around today so managed to have a good thorough search at GZ but unfortunately came up empty handed. Might pay for the CO to take a look at this one as this area was hit pretty heavily by that storm a few weeks ago.
Easy solve and find this afternoon. Removed a couple of very sticky pieces of chewing-gum from the cache -someone hasn't read the rule about not leaving food!
Stopped here on our way back from Wellington today nice quick solve of the puzzle, but took us a little while to locate cache.

Had a short time spare after a meal at a nearby restaurant on the way back from some caching further north, so I stopped for this one. No problems with the questions (although it took me a few minutes to spot one answer that was staring me in the face all along!) and got the correct checksum on the first go. The cache was a quick find in the obvious place. Signed log, TFTC!
The annual school picnic at Queen Elizabeth Park gave us an opportunity to drive up and pick up a few caches. This was the forth and last cache to to be visited on this brief foray to the area. The information was gathered without any problem and then it was off to the final GZ. Cache spotted and retrieved easily enough. The drizzle was just starting to get a bit more persistent so it was a quick sign of the log and return to the car. TFTC

I made a slight boo-boo by not reading one of the questions properly but I soon had it sorted. Spot on coordinates made the find as simple as I was expecting it to be.
A lovely location, we always enjoy spending time in this area and this evening was no different. Has to wait for a few muggles to move on, but all completed in due course. TFTC GSEL, #8200
Found after dinner with LCBuilder. Worked out the coordinates from the comfort of the car and then a short walk to GZ. All in good condition, TFTC
Out for a day of caching with 1Bumblebee.
Had just walked the Paekok - Plimmerton trail, so decided we needed a few Park'n'Grabs.
This one looked like it nearly qualified so stopped to do it.
Spotted all the required info, and headed off to grab the final.
Found very quickly.

Lovely day to have a reason to get to the beach. Easy find. Thanks. In very good order.
Was on our way to Kapiti for an eventcache and wanted to do something different for my milestone so decided to grab this multicache on the way north.
Arriving at GZ this morning it was very quiet, maybe because it was father's day or maybe it was a Sunday. Well just because it was both it was good as it was muggle free.
Arriving at GZ with Mrs Yeetrees it really didnt take very long for us to work out the answers to the questions, decided to check the checksum and got a number that I was happy with and then it was a short and easy walk to the final GZ.
Arriving at the final GZ, I soon spotted the cache while Mrs Yeetrees was still looking so I said to her that it is definitely still there, and she soon found it in the correct spot as to where she was looking. A nice and very simple multi well designed to give us great view and very informative cache page that deserves a favourite point, thanks for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this lovely spot. TFTC TNLNSL (9600), deserves a favourite point as it is a great spot to visit.

Thanks for the feedback Rob. The clues can be done using the resources available near the virtual coordinates. One of the three signs is a bit obscure.
