Today I met up with Calypso62 and Rama497 to do some of TRLT series. Calypso62, Team Canary and I did a fair chunk of the first stretch back in April 2017, Calypso62 and I haven't managed to return until now. We were lucky enough to have Rama497 come and join us today, making the day a whole lot of fun. There were instances where we saw snow, some where we felt snow, some where we walked through (fallen) snow, some where the caches had snow on them and even some where it was snowing at the time! I don't think the car said it was warmer than 3 degrees all day yet we still managed to find at least 36 caches (we revisited some previous finds so Rama497 could find them too). It was a wonderful day.
Last one! Well, last planned one for the day anyway. Found in the third place we looked, power (ha ha) to us!

Day 3
With the COVID19 restrictions lifting, we decided to head to the Bathurst area this long weekend on a Geomission with Rapidlywild. Our intention was to attack the TRLT trail and others around the area.
We had a great four days, only a few DNF’s but mostly smiley's, and have left plenty for another adventure. Lovely area to cache in and we look forward to coming back for some more fun and laughs.
Thanks for the hide Code1 and thanks Rapidlywild for another great weekend away.
Apologies for the generic log, thank you to all the cache owners for their efforts.

With COVID19 locking everyone down for so long, a MUCH overdue geocaching mission was welcomed. FurfacesLL #1 and myself decided to head towards Bathurst and attack some of the TRLT caches and see how far we can go. Spoke to a few of the CO's prior to heading up to see if we could assist with any maintenance that was required, so we went prepared with some camo containers and some fresh log books. We had a wonderful weekend stretching the legs and enjoying the country side.

Hatzofff and I are in Bathurst for a few weeks house sitting, and of course have time for lots of caching.

Nice little multi for the afternoon. School was in so no Muggle problems, and GZ was quiet. Now off to a cemetery (again).

This was our fourth day on this trail, and so first thing this morning we set off to where we had pulled out of the trail yesterday evening. The weather was perfect and once again we found ourselves travelling through some truly beautiful scenic countryside on interesting roads. This one was our first cache to search for today, and as we always enjoy a Multi-cache it was great to discover this one on the trail. We soon found the numbers required at the memorial and then with our GPS updated with the corrected co-ordinates we moved on towards Ground Zero where the cache was located after just a brief search. We signed the log book and then replaced as found but not before carrying out a Trackable Exchange, dropping off the Calpe Sandal Travel Bug and the TB_LUDO and picking up the Chip-Blue TB26b. Thanks so much for the cache and a favourite point awarded for the caches in this section of the series. greetings from Zimbabwe
The memorial was visited this morning
But why is the road so busy ??
Oh !! Saturday morning Meadow Flat markets
Coords worked out for GZ and I was off,
fingers crossed that GZ wasn't in the middle of the markets
No problemo !!
And in the quiet surrounds away from all the action,
the cache was soon tracked down

Second multi, pouring rain, couldn't find it, then looked again. Ahhh Loved your work, Code1. Many thanks.
Heading to Portland today with time on my hands, I decided I'd take the scenic route there from Lithgow, travelling via Tarana and Sunny Corner (with a couple of diversions thrown into the mix) to pick up some of the TRLT series in a last ditch attempt to earn the final Hidden Creatures souvenir.
I thoroughly enjoyed the drive and in the end, was able to pick up enough caches along the way, I think, to get me the turtle souvenir. Unfortunately, however, I also picked up an injury here when I hit my head on the corner of the box above the hiding spot. Luckily, thanks to the trustworthiness of the good people of Meadow Flat, I was able to use the unlocked toilet facilities to stem the flow of blood and clean up my head before continuing on with my quest.
Thanks for placing this multi here to provide us TRLT'ers with something of a change of pace ... just a shame about that meter box ...

After learning I had family history in Meadow Flat, I seemed essential to stop on the way back to Sydney to find this cache. With school holidays and no one to be seen, it was a quick find. TFTC
Tftc. Lovely little monument which we’ve never stopped at before, much to our shame. Thanks for placing the cache here.

Streak Day #1683 - Dave8153 and i were out this way for the weekend so i could aim for my 5000 milestone for the OZ Geomuster [now MEGA] this easter. This one was our last of the day and last of the power trail, nice simple multi to have a rest at and solve before heading home. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches
Back today to do more of this fun series. We love the rural areas so this sort of caching suits us just fine. A lot of work has gone into putting out these caches and we are grateful to the co. Thanks to Code1 for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Cache was easy to work out here, although finding it was another matter. We must have spent quite a bit of time in the area before one of us decided to look in what was clearly the obvious hiding spot for it. Cache was then quickly signed and returned, and I dinged my head on a metal object. Ouch.
Found with Foreignnebula and Team Normal.

Found as part of a weekend away with Hoojar. We headed up towards Gulgong the first night and camped near the start/ end of TRLT (@ -5 degrees ). The next day we made it through some nice historic places and great rolling countryside to finish up at Sunny Corner after a feed in Bathurst. The next day a few more finds before we headed home. Plenty of roadkill spotted, not many cars and not too much trouble at each cache. Thanks to all those cache hiders .
The opportunity finally arose that Steeba and I both had a free weekend to go caching. We quickly settled upon the northern half of The Road Less Traveled series. We drove to Gulgong via Mudgee after work on Friday, camping just before midnight at the suggested TSR nearby.
Saturday we made our way via the caching trail, and the odd additional cache, to Bathurst for dinner, then back onto the trail to Sunny Corner where we again camped for the evening.
Sunday we turned our heads for home, via a few additional cache stops in Portland and Wallerawang.
A fantastic weekend away, with excellent country to be seen and company to be had. We enjoyed the caches that we found.
Thank you to all of the cache owners, and sorry for the boiler-plate logs!
Nearly went to the wrong spot, had to double check some maths!

Road trip North to tackle The Road Less Travelled Series with JordsAU! I’ve wanted to try this trail for a while but hadn’t found anyone to try it with. I ran it by Jords a few weeks back & after checking the roster for the week, the stars aligned and we started organising it. He was aiming for “200 caches in a day”, so we planned the trail as best we could!
Monday – we drove up to Gulgong to start the trail. We worked our way down to Mudgee (~30 caches) before setting up camp for the night. We had an early night so we could smash out a big day.
Tuesday – packing up at sunrise and setting out, the big day begun! We reached the first 100 by 2:00pm (7 hours elapsed). We were worried that we weren’t going to reach the 200 milestone considered how far we had to go and how long we had been tracking! The stretch from the Great Western Highway to Oberon made great time and we were on 150 caches. Instead of heading into Oberon to set up camp in daylight, we decided the best use of the remaining daylight would be to push through into the night for the last 50. Eventually we were down to the last handful, when we hit an area of the forest that had been logged. To make up the last few, we assumed there would be caches in Oberon, so we drove 50km back to town. We made the 200 at the Oberon Memorial Site and called it a (long) day.
Wednesday – I was all ran down from the big day, so we made our way back home! I found a few in Sydney, and made the drive back down home. It was a good to unpack and have a nice hot shower. Now for the long laborious task of entering these logs!
Thank you to all the Cache Owners along this trail. It was a real joy to visit another part of this great country we call home. It’ll be easier for me to return to the trail via Goulburn/Crookwell to finish off the series (and hopefully visit any further extensions). TFTC’s!

2/5/17 Found with muppet95. Muppet95 mentioned to me that he was keen to hit up The Road Less Travelled series and we decided to take a few days off to go on a bit of a road trip. I wanted to shoot for a goal of finding at least 200 caches in a 24 hours period and we made plans accordingly. We drove up to Gulgong on the first day and arrived in the early afternoon. We started The Road Less Travelled series there and headed south towards Mudgee, picking up approximately 30 geocaches on the way. We spent the night camping on the outskirts of Mudgee and had an early night, with the expectation of an early start to have the best chance of reaching our goal of 200 caches the next day. At the crack of dawn on day 2, we packed up camp and set out on the trail, finding our first for the day at 7 AM. We then spent the next 14 hours travelling The Road Less Travelled, caching the series and picking up some additional caches along the way. We powered on well after the light of day had disappeared, because we were on a mission and were resolute in our efforts to achieve our goal for the day. We reached a point, down near Gurnang in the pine forest, where the area a cache in the series was supposed to be had been logged and we could not continue, without backtracking and going the long way around. We made the decision to turn around and head back to Oberon, where we would pick up the last remaining few to reach our target number. I am very sad to say that on the way out of the pine forest, a wombat ran out as we were driving past and was struck by the underside of the car. We stopped immediately and I rushed over to its aid. The poor thing was in not in a good way and I did what I could to provide some comfort but it faded away within a matter of minutes. The accident is very distressing and upsetting, and it put a real dampener on a long and tiring day. There was nothing we could do at that point, so we continued on our way back to Oberon, picking up some more caches in town. We reached our campsite and setup, keen to rest up and have a deserved sleep in. It was another cold night, definitely dropping below zero degrees. We woke in the morning and, after packing up, we made our way back to the big smoke. Thanks For The Caches to the respective Cache Owners, and for putting this series together, which takes us on a different route along the Road Less Travelled. We will have to come back at another point in the future to try and finish off the series, and hope that one day the series may be extended further for everyone’s enjoyment.
Spent the morning travelling from the Limekilns Road and headed towards Meadow Flat along this awesome autumns morning collecting a few caches along the way. Thanks for the maintence of the caches. watch your head

Found with Brewmaker while on a two day adventure finding caches in The Road Less Travelled trail series.
We started at Meadow Flat and then headed north (having previously headed south on another adventure) through Sunny Corner and Palmers Oakey before camping overnight at Wattle Flat. Then it was on to Sofala Sally's Flat, Pyramul and heading north towards Mudgee before we ran out of time. Will have to come back to finish the series. Most caches were easy to find and it was a very enjoyable drive along these country roads some beautiful scenery, historic places, native animals etc.
This was our first cache on the Trail and it was an easy multi.

Col lected the necessary information on Wednesday on the way to Raglan for grandparents day at Raglan Public School. Stopped here on the return journey back to Sydney. Found the monument, solved, GZ didn't fit in with our serious lack of time.... hopefully we'll be back soon....
Two days of intense caching with J+J.AU. Main target was the part of the road less travelled, but we ended up picking up a lot more caches. The Saturday was ideal caching weather and we moved pretty quick. still there were a few tricky parts of still wet "roads" we had to manage with the 2WD. Not getting bogged was a accomplishment at the end of the day! Sunday started good as well after a overnight in Bathurst, but soon the rain set in and became worse and worse. we were glad we were able to finish this part of our planning just shortly after lunch! Any wetter and a few of the roads we travelled would have become very trick without 4WD. Great weekend and lots of fun thanks to J.AU anfd thanks to all the cachers that put the caches out there!

I joined up with Wilbert67 to make our dent on the road less travelled series this weekend. Saturday turned out to be the better day weather wise with Sunday slowly becoming wetter as the day went on until the afternoon was just a wash out with heavy rain.
We enjoyed the drive around the beautiful fields freshly dotted with newborn lambs as well as abundant wildlife and views at times that are truly to behold. Most of the hides were easily found with different subtle twists that kept the intrigue going.
Thanks to all the geocachers that have injected the work into the series and making the experience possible. Thanks also to my partner in quest Wilbert for the great company once again.

On a caching adventure to Mudgee with pprass we set out to see some country side and some interesting caches.
Day two of the Power Trail - A great drive around the country side with some lovely views along the way, another day with great weather.
Thanks for the cache

I was way off last time I was here, but came armed with a good GPS. I was still a bit off, (too close to the school for common sense), and even looked at the things mentioned in the hint, but still trusted the GPS. Then I trusted common sense and made the find.
Finally got to the cache location and after reading previous logs was determined that I would not kill any much needed brain cells and would be very careful. So of course, I carefully hit my head on a protruding object. So much for planning. But the cache was found - nice to see something that is not a micro. Thanks Code 1.
A nice short multi to start the series and would have been easier if the GPS had not wanted to visit the school. How can they miss a whole road! Used our instincts and soon found the location and the cache. Thanks.
This was the first of a few TRLT caches found on a day out with The Phantom. I left a GC. Nice multi, thanks Code1.
Today while holidaying in Bathurst we decided to do the caches around Turon State Forest in particular the TRLT series. Thank you to the CO's for placing these caches here - it was a great drive to see the countryside and if not for geocaching, would probably not even ventured onto this road. TFTC
Spending a few days caching around Bathurst and today we are heading out to do the TRLT series around the Turon State Forest. Some fantastic scenery along the way. Thanks to the COs.
27/2/16. 10:46 AM. Cache #3558. Streak day #615.
1st of 17 for the first cache run of the day - a trip on The Road Less Travelled: Meadow Flat, Sunny Corner, Dark Corner and the bottom of Palmers Oaky. I gathered TRLT caches and others in the area, taking a couple of side tracks to do so. I'm here from Sydney for the GCNSW Bathurst Invasion and I got another 8 caches later in the day, too, making it 25.
For this one, easy to get the information I needed and convert to a plausible GZ. The location seemed odd at first until I checked the hint - had to head about 5m west to make the find. A nice, simple multi to warm up with. On to "Meadow Flat Cemetery" next. TFTC.

We discovered all those many a couple of days ago.
We have solved all the interesting mysteries before we started our trip to the Mid Western Region of NSW.
Day 1
We started the day in Meadow Flat, followed by Sunny Corner and Dark Corner past Palmers Oakley.
We loved the hilly nature along many peaceful Gravel roads. Many smilies were forming on our map.
We finished the day in Bathurst.
Day 2
We started all fresh again in the morning. Leaving Bathurst, we were able to get going about faster along the sealed road.
We reached Sofala at around lunch time. We couldn't believe that about 40,000 used to live here. It really seemed that the city stopped developing in around the 1850's..
We continued towards Hills End and Windeyer through dry grassy land in 47 degrees heat.
We spend such a beautiful night here in Windeyer in the caravan park. We booked one of the train accomodation where you got to stay in the train back in time. What a great experience. We really liked Windeyer as it seemed so far away from all the city rush. Te locals were very welcoming and were happy to see us in the pub next door for dinner.
What a great community living were it seems like everyone knows everyone.
Day 3
We left Windeyer after a big breakfast. We travelled along Hills End Road until we reached the turn towards another Gravel road. There wer many animals to watch and it got even hotter and hotter.
This day ended in Mudgee.
Day 4
We took a look at Mudgee city today were we searched for a couple of caches and ten continued towards Rylstone.
After we continued to the Wollemi National Park which a good friend recommended us to go. Here we climbed on the top of the mountain and simply enjoyed the stunning view and the tranquil nature.
After, we traveled towards Kandos, Capertee, Cullen Bullen, Portland and Wallerawang back home to Sydney.
We hereby would like to thank all owners for this great interesting tour. We got to see many historical places and sometimes felt like as if we were living back in the the 1850's, which is a good thing.
Thanks

Done and dusted! We completed this series over 3 1/2 days in total, with a side trip to Hill End which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were heading homeward bound after a couple of weeks on the road, touring and caching around southern Queensland and NSW, and this series topped off a great holiday. Thanks to all COs for their efforts in placing these caches and making this series possible. Took a geocoin to move on. TFTC!
Cheers,

Now I can say I have finally done one in this series. Dropped a coin off. Wife said just leave this one, wish I did, lets just say I have quite a lump on my head right now....
One of the joys of caching are the interesting places you find. I wonder how many of the school kids have found this? TFTC TNLN

and merry christmas
as we are staying at the nearby resort and in desperate need to stretch legs and belly and everything else that grows, we decided to have a caching day and chose your trail !
well done, is what i would like to say to all caches we had found, all of them in a good order and stacked with many colorful swaps.
of course we as tourists, would have not chosen many sites to which this trail brought us, so a big thank you to all of you, the other teams and who are maintaining them. we enjoyed it very much

that was the first one we found and interesting it was, gathering some information of the local history but those flies around, hillarious to log , it was impossible as those little ones tried to crawl in nose ears and eyes

A revist to The Road Less Travelled to tidy up the multis at this end that had previously been ignored.
Well, the 'mushroom managed to confuse himself no end here. Coords were calculated, and a short move made to the GZ. Out of the GeoReindeerand the Garmin indicated back a considerable distance and a faithful follow found the way back to the monument. One should have known better - maybe it was the midday sun - a further fumble with the Garmin and it was a return to where the wander started ... within 9 metres of the GZ. Dazed, it took maybe a minute longer to find the cache as it blended into the shadows. Thanks for the cache, Code1
Collected three TBs to rehome.

Out today with Paul the Hippy. Thanks hippy for driving me around grabbing these caches. We had a great day, even when I got a little grumpy at the end of the day. Woke up after spending the night at medow flats. Had a lovely time finding the ones towards Sunny corner. we even went for a walk and grabbed a few which werent on the series. Got to sunny corner and checked out the old tennis court and dance hall.
After sunny corner we continued to dark corner (great with names out here). Visited acouple of cemeteries and continued down the road until it turned dirt. This was our favourite section oof the series as no cars and felt like we were in the middle of nowhere.
Past Mount horrible we went, thinking why is this called horrible and then onto the tar again. Completed a few puzzles and then back on the series.
Following the black top we went, here the pull offs were better then the second section of the series. Loved the town of Peel, where we grabbed a puzzle and acouple in this series. Got to wattle flat and was exhausted. Had fun with the blackberries in the dead center (NOT). Finally made our way to sofala. Lots of history here and visited another cemetery for a puzzle. Thanks for all the caches, lots of hard work went into these and really enjoyed them. Cheers mr_roo
