Had this one solved for a while now, and have finally gotten around to the search. Maybe I should have waited a few weeks for the water to evaporate or soak in a little!! Had to carefully make my way through squishy mud and undergrowth but thankfully made a quick find at GZ. TFTC
Thanks to LAXA for assisting with messaging. I needed more help than was in the hints to get the answer. My boy and I spent a fun and slightly soggy 30 minutes hunting this one.Glad we had the wellie boots on!Paper is very waterlogged but we still signed and replaced where we found it. Not sure if its supposed to be hanging up though?Thank you for the cache and the cool find
Hi from Hungary! After hours of working this out on paper, I got the coordinates a week or so ago. Then today my girlfriend and I went caching along the river. I'm really glad we got to find this cache after all that working out. It's a beautiful area. Thanks for bringing me here.
Cirrus_wa and I CNothing, Cirrus_wa out for another Tuesday night caching adventure. Found easily and in good condition.
Checked the maps for a good place to park and got as close to the cache along the path as we could before venturing into the wetlands.
We slowly made our way towards GZ ensuring the firmness of the ground before each step.
Took about 5 minutes before we were in the single digits and started to him for the cache, due to the over head cover our location to search kept changing and it felt like we were going in circles.
With 15 minutes of hunting coming up empty handed I resolved in my mind not to leave empty handed and meticulously checked every tree multiple times.
After 30 minutes ICN finally called out found it and we were adding our names to the log, but pleased that we would not have to venture back and feeling chuffed that we got this done in the cooler months and that the water hadn’t risen too high.

Weekly caching had I C Nothing and I heading to the Thornlie & Ferndale areas working off our list of caches we weren’t able to get last week.
On a clear night we were able to collect 10 finds and 0 DNF’s.

Thanks LAXA for placing What is Rogaining ? for me and others to find.
I added my name to the log at 21:20 on 11/7/2023.
This is find number 7455 for me.

A lazy attempt at the puzzle had me realising what I needed to do. A month later, puzzle solved with more accuracy. Hunting for the cache had me feeling I was rogai omg. I should have brought gumboots. Watch your step!
Second time around. Much drier this time. However did find cache on the ground.
No luck for me here today. GZ appears to be in the middle of a swamp. Will try again at another time with gum boots.
This was a great cache to solve. Having done some Rogaining in the past, it was quite straightforward, just took a while to work through.
Finding the cache was quite exciting as well. Of course we went looking just after a big rainstorm. Thankfully my other half was willing to get wet feet in order to sign the log. Thanks for a fabulous mystery cache. ️

Thanks LAXA for placing and maintaining this cache. Stopped in here whilst in the area. I have been regaining once b4.
Replaced new log sheet for temporary
Accompanied with iluvtrekking for the day - the weather was so lovely today.
Spooky inside with soft and wet land (not quicksand phew!)
We enjoyed searching and signed the log as EV and ILT.
Thanks LAXA for the cache and hunt

Having read past logs and with all the rain we have had lately, we thought we would have to swim to retrieve this cache. We wandered down the path with Everlasting, and the cache was soon signed and returned with dry feet. Thanks LAXA.
This was one of the caches on our radar today and boy is it wet under foot here.
Log is wet as well and sorry no replacement sheet with us.
A few of the FOTT decided to head out today. We had a spot of fishing to do, and some challenge requirements to chase.
We ventured NOR to begin with picking our way around before heading back in a southerly direction to finish near where we started. Granett, SVKR_WA and myself made an early start, it’s how we roll.
Many thanks to LAXA for placing and maintaining What is Rogaining ?. I found it, I signed it, and put it back as found.

After a week of temperatures above 35, we were surprised to find the ground quite wet and boggy.
After bashing our way though spiderwebs and scrub we spotted the cache.
The log is extremely wet
There has been a recent proliferation of caches that require an extendable pole and a puzzle solving capability.
Today, Granett (puzzle solver), Kyzabra (extendable pole owner and puzzle solver) and I (proud passenger and bag carrier ) buddied up for a suburban fishing trip.
We started out early and headed into the northern suburbs. Foreign territory for us all. We had a precise plan for the day which has us traversing across Perth.
Quite a few caches were found, much enjoyment was had. Thanks to the COs for there effort.
LAXA SVKR_WA is happy to have found your cache What is Rogaining ? today at 13:17:46 7 Dec 2019. This brings my find count to 3883
LAXA - Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment. We love travelling the state and visiting some places that we would only visit due to this game.

I have been looking at Rogaining for sometime however I have nobody willing to give it ago with me. I knew what to do with the info so quickly had the thumbs up. GZ was a different matter. I can understand the snake warning. None sighted but I know they were there. I dont think muggles will be venturing in there. TFTC
Every year I swear I will keep up with my logging and not let myself fall behind, yet I have done it yet again.
It has been a month now since my last puzzle cache hunt with geobuddy urch. We compiled a list of puzzles that we had both solved but not yet found, and made a start on finding them last weekend. Back up again today, with a few by this CO on our list to try find and earn our smileys on. This puzzle was another that had me scratching my head for quite some time, not ever having had anything to do with Rogaining, but I nutted it out eventually. Getting to gz was a bit of an adventure, but we didn't have any scaly encounters, so all good, and thankfully the cache was a quick find once there. Thanks for the puzzle and for placing and maintaining this cache for the rest of us to come and find LAXA.

Continuing on in our puzzle finding mission to turn solved puzzles into smiley faces.
I need to call on outside assistance for this one as this type of puzzle scrambles my brain so very pleased to get the checker's congratulations. Then it was a bit daunting to find GZ in ideal snake terrain but once there the cache was quickly spotted, signed and replaced. We found a much easier exit back to the path though.
Many thanks for the puzzle and for the cache LAXA.

Find 4 of 15 on a MTB ride through the Canning River wetlands and vaious parts south. Significantly warmer than our previous wintry rides today which made for a lovely ride. 5 DNFs along the way - defeated by some tough hides.
Remember having some fun with this puzzle a while ago. Two different approaches (computational versus manual). The manual way got a good answer quicker but the programmer enjoyed it more and has some code for "next time". First chance to pick up and we timed it well - I remember this area being under water not that long ago. Slight squelching on the way in but a quick find on dry land.

This one was on the to-find list for a while, but knowing that area, I decided to leave it until the area was a bit drier. It was quite an easy walk to get to GZ today, with only the last couple of steps being a bit squelchy. Great hide. TFTC LAXA
I think I will stick to geocaching & leave the rogaining to the more adventurous amongst us. Thanks to PP1 for taking his pommie heavy duties Wellies for a walk, or is that a wade? TFTC LAXA have a fave.
Surprisingly, breezed through the puzzle, getting a green light first up and am now a little the wiser to the arcane sport of rogaining.
Bit surprised by the water on arrival, but a quick flick through the logs revealed that it wasn't unusual. Retreated to the car for the trusty gumboots.
Crikey! The trip to GZ was otherworldly. Half expected to have to tackle a croc or an anaconda (too many movies) and also developed a paranoia that I was going to trip and faceplant. Had been confident when setting out that the tall gumboots would do the job easily, but the water got very close to the top. Ended up holding on to anything I could to hold me upright, feeling like a toddler learning to walk. Found what seemed a very appropriate marker at GZ, but I don't think this one is getting muggled anytime soon.
Lost my pen during the adventure, so have taken a photo of the log as I wasn't going back for another one. All up, with an early tick on the checker and a cool/creepy/different trip to GZ, one of my favourite caches and a deserved fav point allotted.

This puzzle proved very difficult for us but after some brainstorming and a nudge we finally had some co ords. We were pleasantly surprised to see how close is was to home. The area is very wet and water logged and wellies are a necessity at the moment. The last 20 metres were calf high water deep for the tallest team member. A fave for the puzzle but not so much for the trek to the cache
TFTC LAXA this is find # 3232 for us.

We had come up with the finals earlier in the year after consulting with the CO. Visited the location a couple of months ago in much warmer weather but geo-hubby was not keen to venture in without his chainmail! After braving dental surgery this morning he was up for just about anything, so donned his gumboots and waded through the hostile location to make a quick find and emerge back out unscathed. Thanks Laxa
I love public holidays! This afternoon was another opportunity to head out caching for a few hours, and I picked up where I left in Lynwood a few days ago. I was happy to find about 20 caches in 3.5 hours, with 3 DNFs along the way.
I had solved this one a long time ago, but had never had the chance to come out and make the find. I kept my eyes and ears open en route to the final location, and all was good!
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache LAXA!

This is one of the closest to home unfound question marks for me and has been annoying me for quite a while. From time to time I would have a look always putting it on the back burner.
Finally the other day I decided to drag the daughters protractor out and fiddled around trying to garner some numbers. Took a couple of goes but I eventually got the thumbs up from the checker and promptly put it on the to-do list.
Had the chance this arvo to try and track it down and after parking up in the handy carpark I headed off towards the cache. It wasn't long before I discovered that the recent rains had made the area rather waterlogged which proved somewhat troublesome as my normal approach in this type of terrain is to be overly heavy footed to ward off Joe Blake. At the same time I didn't fancy plunging my boot into ankle deep mud or worse.
It was with suitably dry ankles that I arrived at GZ and after a search that took longer than it should've I spotted the nicely themed cache. Very pleased to have this one crossed off the list thanks for the effort of putting it together, awarding a favourite.
LAXA I found your cache at 4:51pm, this was the 1st of 2 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 3481. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

Earlier in the week a plan was hatch along with McFonz and the Machman to head SoR to hunt down some puzzles we'd solved and then finish the day in Duck43 country.
After an early morning start we arrive at the first cache around 7:30am and found our last find around 4:30pm. For me it was 26 finds and 2 dnfs. Pretty good going considering the quality of hides.
A great day of geocaching (plus the odd munzee and flagstack). Thanks to the CO's for some very inventive puzzles and hides.
Well it's taken almost a year but I've finally got to the GZ and found this cache. Luckily it was a cold morning so no reptilian activity. Approached by circling around from the north and soon had the cache in hand. Definitely worthy of a fav point ... a sport I know all too well . TFTC.

Was out and about with Spatialriq and Machman for a day of GeoMunStacking. After an early morning pick up (about 0700 - hey, I am on two weeks off at the moment) we set out heading south of the river to see how many we could manage.
Most of the finds today went to either Riq or Machman and I only managed to come out with two or three finds for the crew as we went. All of the caches were in good condition.
This one had the old snake radar pinging off the scale. Well executed puzzle page with a final on topic.
Thanks for the cache LAXA.
Cheers

On a big day out with McFonz and the Spatial One, South of the River, to pick up some puzzles we'd solved and then complete the day with another Duck run.
Whole mixture of great hides throughout the day with Duck excelling himself as we have all come to expect. We also got a little sidetracked, co-existing with other fun Geo location games. It all made for a great day out.
Thanks for all the Caches.

Finally get to log this find. Solved it ages ago but didn't like gz in summer and vowed to wsit for winter. Went to get coords and couldn't find them Had to redolve so waited till the holidays. Resolved today and donned the wellington boots to go find it. So glad to cross this one off the list. Gx had me shuddering all the way home . Tftc and the puzzle Laxa.
Solved the puzzle yesterday (after some previous aborted attempts) and then went looking for the cache today. Given my paranoia about snakes, the previous sighting of a snake, the signs about snakes and the inundation evident in the area, I did the right thing and donned thick rubber boots and my gaitors. I was therefore able to walk right up to the cache location without getting wet and without any fear of snakes. Didn't see any fortunately even though it was a sunny day. Interestingly, way back in the early 80's I did a couple of rogaines - a 24 hour event and a 12 hour event - with some work mates. Within 15 minutes of setting off on the 24 hour event I just about trod on a curled up tiger snake lying in amongst some rocks. I levitated for the next 200 metres. We all wondered just how many snakes we'd see in the remaining 23 and 3/4 hours. We did not see another one, but it was a very frightening introduction to rogaining. Thanks for cache LAXA. A fav point coming your way.
Found after resolving the puzzle. Walked to GZ as close as 5m. The place is inundated, so all I could is to take a phoro of the cache.
(chwiliwr team catch up log)
Chwiliwr had solved this when it was published but we hadn't been in the area until tonight to go and find the cache at GZ. Found without problems even in the fading light. Log signed and cache returned as found.
Thanks LAXA for the cache and puzzle.

Great puzzle and interesting location. Didn't see any snakes, but I suspect that doesn't mean there were none around. Got water in my boots.

Well, safe to say, you warned us, although, given the warning sign and the prolific nature of snakes in this area, I do wonder why you've chosen a wet location which seemed to involve some steps into the unknown to hide such a great cache. I ride on plenty of busy roads but I wouldn't take kids out with me. I wouldn't bring kids here either. I saw the biggest live snake I've ever seen this morning within 100m of this hide, which wasn't the intro to the area I was hoping for.
Perth has turned on stellar weather during October making it too difficult to refuse a morning ride. Generally I don't head out this way since it involves negotiating some less than desirable roads but with a cache on offer, it's amazing what I'll do!
I solved the puzzle last night while watching the great new show where the lady with all the tattoos comes out of the bag. Although I teach Maths, I couldn't find a protractor anywhere at home so printed yours and used a combination of estimating and using the paper protractor to get the solution. I guessed what to do with the values, but I now notice the hint is related to the puzzle rather than the hide.
Although I hated the search area, I loved the effort you have put into the hide. I penciled a K.B. onto the log but, resting against the paperbark while hysterically looking at my feet praying a snake didn't slither anywhere nearby, swatting mosquitoes and picking spider's web from my face, it isn't the best signature.
I was very relieved to hightail it out of there and it is safe to assume I will not be joining the rogaining community if it involves 24hrs in this type of habitat.
Thanks for the effort you have put into both the puzzle and the hide LAXA.

Knowing a little about Rogaining I thought I could work this puzzle out which is unusual for me when it comes to puzzles. I made a silly mistake and by the time I rectified the error my window had closed yesterday. So today on the way to an appointment, dressed in slip on shoes and short pants which proved to be not the correct attire at a very snaky spot. I had to stepped over snake skin to get to the cache and even the track leading towards the cache had a big sign warning about snake and advised to stay on the track.
I tried approached the cache from two different directions trying to stay on open ground but as I got closer to the cache this was impossible. My eyes were darting back and forth looking for KB's big friend. I thought it was a Dugite not a Tiger snake from the size but the photo was too blurry for identification. I'm not sure if KB's hands was shaking or she was trying to ride the bike with her feet on the handle bars when she took the photo.
After sign the log under KB with ever watchful eyes I slowly picked my way back to relative safety. I enjoyed the Rogaining puzzle part and have therefore awarded a favourite point. My nerves were still a little jaded from a Tiger snake in the front yard on Tuesday so this cache location today did not go anyway to settling them.
Thanks LAXA for the cache.

I don't believe the mistake I made this morning when I had time to go and find the cache, now it is all too late...............
