Looked and looked, even had some kids tell us where they thought it was. Gave up.
We have travelled up from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, staying for a couple of nights in a park cabin at the Lake Macquarie Big4 Tourist Park in Mannering Park, to continue with our caching adventures on the Western shores of Lake Macquarie. Our previous visit to the area was in March/April 2018 for the OZ GeoMuster 2018 Lake Mac Mega Event, where our family’s chief puzzle solver had managed to solve (unassisted) a good portion of the Mega GeoArt puzzle caches that were on offer. And this new visit will hopefully see us complete most of the missing pieces of that Mega GeoArt, thanks once again to our family’s chief puzzle solver’s (unassisted) puzzle solving efforts. This was the 8th of 28 finds for the day, and 30th of 73 finds for the weekend.
A quick find but the log was way too wet to sign, so we took a photo of it instead. Cache is in urgent need of some maintenance. TNLN. TFTC cacheways.

Heading north from the Clearwaters Mega at Queanbeyan. Camping at the very peaceful Belmont Lakeside van park. Driving the old forgotten highway that we travelled on decades ago. Enjoying the sites of Lake Macquarie. Logs signed Coongoola or CG.

We set up camp at Mannering Park and were well positioned so we could head out and do some caching. We teamed up with the Snakepiters and enjoyed the find in this scenic area. Thanks to cacheways for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Back for the second day to finish off the Oz Geomauster Art. Success now to pick up the remaining traditionals in the area. Mixed success with a few DNF's

Cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for a fun cache guys.
Rapidlywild suggested we head up to the Oz Muster event when it was first published, so between us and a few others we set out to solve the puzzles around the area, not that we got to all of the ones we solved, what a shame we will have to return one day to collect them when the mosquitos are not as active.
We had a great time over the weekend, grabbed lots of caches and met some fellow cachers,
Thanks Rapidlywild for another enjoyable geoadventure.

#3862 26th for today
Day 2 of the OzGeoMuster 2018.
The plan today was to get hold of the Lab Caches and make a start on those as well as some serious pathtag swapping. Any time remaining was to collect any solved puzzled. All in all a fairly successful day. It was not nearly as hot as yesterday but it was still quiet steamy. I'd been for a local parkrun this morning so I was already dehydrated and ended up with a fairly bad headache before I realised why. I took it easy for a bit and re-hydrated and was feeling a lot better around dinner time. Which means: time to resume the hunt for caches. That went on until about 9pm. It was much easier in the dark, but no cooler or less humid.
Apologies for the generic logs. I did enjoy exploring the area finding these caches and have met quite a few other cachers out along the way. Everyone is very friendly.

Being a tall person, I kept thwapping branches while looking for the cache, but it turns out the correct level was well below my eyeline. Eventually I lived the phrase, and was barking up the wrong tree, when Barelledover called over having found the cache. I popped over to do my signing duties, and once the cache was put back, another half minute followed of foliage thwacking on the way back to the car. Cute hide, though the container looks like it’ll fall apart at any moment, and the same can be said of the cache, it’s pretty far in.
Found with Barelledover!

This was found yesterday afternoon after I had registered for Mega event. All set for a wonderful weekend of caching fun. I was not able to log this yesterday as I had an accident at cache in Rathmines and spent the evening in hospital. I'm fine just a badly sprained ankle. But that ended my weekend and I'm going to be on crutches for at least a week. I'm so glad I found all the caches I want to before the accident. I should have just call it quits but there bloody saying 'just one more cache '. Thanks for the cache
Day 6 of our Epic Roadtrip to the OzMuster Mega, We arrived yesterday and setup WAAAAAAYYYY over in the back stalls...actually the front stalls in the unpowered section. We were joined over in the paddock this morning by Green Team 2. After getting some essential supplies and exploring the town a little we headed out to do some caches. Now having caught up with all of the crew we tried to find as many caches as we could in a 12 hours of daylight this one fitted into our plan of attack so pulled over to get this one. This was an area that had a number of close by caches. So made perfect sense to hunt for these ones. It also had some nice views of the lake

The Owl and the Rat had run away from their respective homes to come to the Mega and today's outing was a mission to get the Owl to 6999 finds. With the OGZs done, it was time to fill in the final numbers. This was nice little urban scrub area, with lots of options for the cache to hide in, but the process of elimination brought a find.
Found this while at the OzMega Event. Picking up some of the OZGM puzzle hides and a few Trad as we have time for.
