The very last one for the day, with the sun close to setting. Parking the Geo-mobile and making my way down the hill, I soon found myself with ankle deep water between me and the cache. Hmmmm... In orienteering, if we can't cross it, we find a way around it. Which is exactly what I did. Unfortunately though, upon reaching GZ I found what I believe are remnants of the container, which was partially buried and filled with dirt. I searched for, but could find no sign of the log or lid. CO may want to do a check of this. Thank you for bringing me here anyway, the tree at GZ was interesting and I enjoyed lovely views of the countryside near GZ.
Picked out a few caches to do on the drive back from Sydney with the new car. This was one of them.
You don't have to get wet feed and can walk around the creek. But if you come here come soon as there is not much left of the cache (and hide). The tree has fall over and the cache container is in peaces. But the log is safe and sound in its bag as of now and quite dry too.
Remains of the cache are left see pic. Log is in good condition though.
Thank you Stumble's Mate for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Unfortunately this one had no lid on it and it was full of water. I’ve emptied it out and put the lid back on but the log was too wet to sign. TFTC.
Parked on the side road and headed towards the awesome relic at GZ. Cache was quickly found, log signed and all replaced as found. TFTC!
A day trip away to collect a few caches, I was picked up this morning by Tankengine and then off to collect dty73. With the new challenge we needed to find some caches and as Tankengine had all but cleaned out Canberra and the near by regions it was off else where to find them! Dty73 had completely the challenge but came along to keep us company and enjoy some caching too. Up towards Mittagong was the plan with a few along the way, TE had a PQ of caches we all had yet to find, with a few bonus ones that looked interesting as we passed or needed along the way.
Some lovely areas and off course a lot of fun along the way but the arctic wind that blew painfully through was enough to make me moan and winge at times! If beanies are a fashion statement anywhere I was rocking it well today! The gloves I needed but they made rolling the little bison logs almost impossible so off they came and the mild frostbite will recover! (winge, moan etc etc!)
Luckily though most caches were close to the car or didn't take so long to find, a few DNF's but only a couple and the car was SOOO warm and cosy! We stopped and had a welcomed warm lunch, found all the caches we needed for the challenge and of course had a great day too! Many thanks for your cache that helped with our days caching and thanks to dty73 and Tankengine for the good company and enjoyable day!

So – new souvenirs are available to be found! But they require me to find specific caches! I had found all the clues required, so I was after the gemstones! But, due to lack of caches in the ACT, a plan was hatched. Dty73, Aquilus1 and I decided on a roadtrip to the Mittagong area! After an early (well, not too early) start, we were on the road, and targeted caches were slowly knocked off!
The weather was ICY COLD, and the wind awful! But the caching and the company was fun! The drive home in the dark and rain was also not so nice (I thought it was about to snow), but at least we were nice and warm in the car!
Thanks for the cache SM and thanks for the company dty73 and aquilus1! We had a great day out!

I joined Tankengine and Aquillus1 on a day of running around the countryside tyring to find clues and gems for the latest Mystery at the Museum subgame. I was lucky to have already completed this challenge and so I was just able to collect more smilies with great company.
Tankengine came early with Aquilus1 to pick me up and off we went. We had a smooth drive up and around all over the place with only the freezing cold wind to annoy us. But I was lucky being able to ride shotgun with the warm heated leather seat of Tankengine's loan car. Thanks for driving us around Tankengine it was very much appreciated.
We parked on the end of the road and parked up on the side near the gate, then walked down to GZ. Had to watch for a couple of wombat holes. Thankfully the sun was shining and the wind had subsided for a second while we were here. The cache was found easily and the log signed. Tftc Stumble's Mate!!!

parked nearby and a short walk grass a bit damp but not too bad.
Heading over to the OzGeomuster event, and picking up some caches enroute, weather was a bit dodgy but managed what we could ,found with StrangeTrousers and CBRChic , signed as Kayak Cachers stamp.

#5216 3rd for today
Day one of the Oz Geomuster Mega at Cataract (the Gong). Traveling with mtrax & CBRChic to the event. Today was rather damp and there was rain on occasions, but nothing too heavy. But it's always pleasant traveling through th southern highlands. We dropped into Fitzroy falls and had lunch in Robertson on the way. Eventually we decided we needed to get a move on to make it to our accommodation at Appin.
Been past this one a few times but took a while ot work out how to get to it. No troubles this time - with help. Stamped as "Kayak Cachers".

Enough of the highway life !! [:o]
I'm not a fan !!
Hoddles angry roads gave me an excuse to escape back to the roads a bit less travelled
And it wasn't far before I was off on foot to find this cache
A stroll from the parking area,
*around* the swamp,
took me to an obvious GZ
Where the cache was found with a bit of climbing

Container was stuck into the tree, we got it free eventually and left it where it is easy to get to.

OCW marj01 around the Southern Highlands. A busy day with most of the finds being park and grab. TFTC
Returning from Sydney and helping my parents move within their retirement village, I sought out four geocaches along the way. This cache was a straightforward find, being in an obvious spot, even though my GPS reckoned that it was about 8m from the coordinates. Thank you Stumble’s mate for installing and maintaining this cache.
#8741 - 15:05; I had been to a meeting in Jamberoo and took the chance to grab a few caches on the way back up the hill and towards the highway as I headed for home. Having driven past this cache many times without stopping, today was the day to finally make the find. The track towards GZ made for a good place to park before heading over to start the hunt. The GPSr semed a bit off, but after taking the geoblinkers off, managed to locate the cache and add my name to the log. TFTC Stumble's Mate
Stopping off on the return leg of a Sydney day trip with Genghicat, this was a quick find in good condition. Nice to see a bit of greenery around. Tftc
An early start from Port Macquarie on our way to Melbourne. Stopping at Berrima for a couple of days down by the river side. After a rest we did a tour to the south of town. We passed some fantastic countryside, many large & prosperous properties. Really enjoyed our drive in the area. Hubby said the area reminded him of NZ
Found numerous micros & an assortment of others sizes in some great locations.Appreciated the good co-ords.

As we drove towards this cache we were concerned where we might have to park - the side of the freeway was not a good option. Then we found an access road used for road maintenance and that got us within a short distance with safe parking. Then there was a 40m walk through longish grass which was a little daunting considering the possibility of slitheries. The hide location was obvious, and although it was about 14m south-west of the published coordinates, we were able to make a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Stumble's Mate for the cache.
All caches were found sometime between 5:49am Friday 2nd and 6:28pm Sunday 4th November.
I’ve been invited to attend a special event in Wollongong on the Saturday, well why not make it a whole weekend away with some caching to go along with it. About a month ago I started looking at caches I could find along the way and noticed that if things go to plan I could make my #1000. This didn’t end up happening. I found out when I approached the GZ’s of a few of the caches I had chosen didn’t have parking space to stop and/or were difficult to find which lead some caches into DNF’s. I did however love finding all the caches I did find and to end on an even happier note the last cache I found was a FTF (GA13111)!!! There were lots of great camos and styles of hides that I hadn’t come across before and new styles for common hides that provided me with plenty of fun and ideas for new caches. Most of the caches I found were in great condition but for the rest of them, the maintenance required is log books/sheets and/or containers need replacing, camo needs replacing, D/T and coordinates need correcting. On some of the smaller logs I signed as 2/11 JM, 3/11 JM and 4/11 JM. TB visit on all found caches over the whole weekend. I would like to thank all CO’s for the caches I found, the locations I visited and for the fun it provided me over the whole weekend!
Weekend totals:
45 Finds (41 Groundspeak and 4 GCA)
4 DNF’s and a lot of drive-bys
Cache Types: 7 (Trad, Virtual, Mystery, WherIGo, Trig-Point, Earth and Multi)
This one was next on the list and it was a nice quick find here. The only thing I struggled with for this one was fighting the GPS on how to get to GZ. TFTC
P.S. Sorry about the generic log.
P.S.S. All Caches found have been logged in order and backtracked to the correct day.

#5550 (23 of 23 today)
Too many days of just one or two finds lately. Getting itchy caching erm, fingers?
So while the Geowife is busy supervising HSC I decided to head south where a lot more power trails have appeared.
Made a start on one before the creek got in the way, and then picked up a whole lot more in the area.
Finished with twenty three finds. That'll round up my find count. In retrospect though, 28 finds would have made a more interesting total.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Final find of the day. Pulled into the side road and parked at the bend closest to GZ.
Well, I'm glad it's windy and cold at the moment, because the grass is high and could harbour plenty of slithering things.
Quickly worked out where GZ was, and a short search turned up the cache.
Completed signing duties and replaced. Thren waded back to the track, and then to *The Hademobile*. Time to burn more petrol!

**This Cache:**
Just plugged this into my phone without sussing it out first, turned onto the bridge and woahhhhh wheres the cache!? Was almost going to skip it but then spotted the dirt road another 100m further up, ahhhh that makes sense!
Parked near the gate and wandered over towards GZ where the cache was found quickly up in its nice perch
Thanks Stumbles Mate!

**The Day:**
Day 1 of an extended weekend caching trip, and a family member's 50th up in Sydney!
Started off from Canberra at 7am and reached my accomodation in Moss Vale at 6pm. Then cached for another hour between 7-8pm! Today consisted of a few short stops to grab new + missed caches on the way to the Southern Highlands region, and then a big sweep of country roads and towns, picking up every cache I could and using some specific caches to guide me around. Visited some excellent locations today and also found some very creative caches! Found a total of 78 caches for the day!
Thanks to all the CO's! See individual log about each cache above ^^

Out and about, geocaching our way down to "Mexico" and collecting a few caches along the way. Some interesting caches along the way to turn those icons into smiles.
Geokid #2 was needing a quick feed, so off I went taking Geokid #1 for a wander to find the cache. An interesting burnt out tree was at GZ, and Geokid #1 soon had CIH and signed the log before returning to the Geomobile.
Spotted a few wombat holes near GZ, but I'm not game enough to stick my hands down there.

Found with Lucky Cricket and Little Cricket, a spot for a cache, there was a big flock of double bar finches flying over GZ when we got there. TFTC
We trekked out to GZ, a bit nervous going through all the long grass but thankfully no snakes. A quick find because Mum had read that the hint no longer applies, but cache sense will get you there. TFTC
Lucky I read the logs to discover the hint is no longer relevant! This should be updated in the listing as not everyone reads logs in advance.. all good here and no elapids
No snake today also i forget to bring my brio so took a photo to prove. Thanks for the cache and hunt

Yes, first find on our holiday to the coast.
We pulled up and saw roughly where the cache was, and even though we were in thongs and shorts, and the rain was just starting, we had to have a bash. Fortunately we found a relatively straightforward entrance, found the cache (big hole in the top), signed and back on our way.

The NW Sydney gang came through today. The lid for this one is almost not even a lid anymore. It seemed silly to put it back up there, so it is lower for now and upside down to give it a chance to survive the next rain. CO needs to replace the container. TFTC

My wife and I met up with bikerbuddy and Toriaz and had a day together in the Southern Highlands. This was our seventh cache.
After a walk from the parking spot through the long grass we came to the obvious GZ. I tried to reach from one side but bikerbuddy could more easily get it from the other. Nasty spiky tree!!!

I went to the right side of the tree, and could see where I could climb to get up. Bikerbuddy is taller than me, so he said he would do it. He was shedding the contents of his pockets to make the climb easier when I spotted the container and realised he could probably reach it from the ground if he stretched. Turns out he could, which is just as well given the nasty spikes on the tree.
Lid of container has a big hole in it, needs replacing.
Thanks

Toriaz spotted the cache before I did and wondered whether we could reach it. I was just readying myself to climb up to get it, when she pointed out that I should be able to reach it. I'm glad she stopped me because it was then that I realised the dead bark of the tree was punctuated with nasty thorns, some relatively large, erupting from its surface like malignant pimples. When I withdrew my hand from the tree I already had an indent in my skin where one had pressed in. A nice simple hide, but a nasty old tree. Thanks
The swamp is dry at present, so this cache is easy to assess. The lid of the cache has a large hole and needs replacement. Log is dry at present, but has been wet in the past and will be wet again, unless the cache is replaced soon. Pleased I could reach this cache. TFTC Stumble's Mate.
Found it on the ground. Lefy a car for someone and put it up where it should be. Needs new lid for sure.
Can you believe there were muggles here so I had to return! We drove as far as we could and while turning around a council or similar truck arrived. We parked a bit back at the corner and looked back. Two more muggles on tractor mowers or quad bikes - I couldn't see well enough to be sure) rode down the paddock and met the driver of the truck, and had a long chat. With no reason to be there, we headed to find Bunch of Gums.
On the way back the muggles had all gone so I headed to GZ. The hint did not apply - the cache container was on the ground and in the open. I signed the log and replaced it in the most likely spot. I put it upside down so that rain shouldn't get in the massive hole in the lid. TFTC, Stumble's Mate.

Thought we would grab one more cache before we got on the freeway and went home. Ground wasn't too wet so made the trek out with no problem.

Needed a break so whats better than having a break stretching the legs and finding a cache. TFTC SL
Once we parked it was an easy autumn day walk, through the long grass, I hope all the snakes were hibernating. Once at GZ spotted the cache and retrieved. I signed the long and replaced. Note the cache has a hole in its lid. TNLN thanks.
Found @ 12:29pm on the way home to Canberra after a birthday brunch following Bowral parkrun
Cool spot! Lucky I have long arms.

#1403 Third of thirty finds on a great Sunday's driving around the Southern Highlands. Quick find after a short search. TFTC
Another great weekend away with Hoojar and The Rats. This time it was down towards Canberra with a few caches in between. This was one of many that we managed to tackle. TFTC!
When a weekend caching with the boys comes along you grab it by the horns, with kids weekend sport washed out steeba, Hoojar and myself headed south with a goal of completing the Kangaroo power trail in Kowen Forest.
Over 2 days we found 150+ caches, walked through 679 spiderwebs, saw 310 kangaroos, were surprised by 8 deer, patted 1 echidna and stepped over countless fallen, all in the name of fun.
Thanks to all the cache owners who contributed to our weekend and apologises for the generic log, but certainly doesn't detract from the hide or the fun we had.

Arrived at GZ to find this cache lying on the ground in the open. Found the log book and some swaps and returned then to the container. The log book was signed and the cache was replaced in the logical spot. Thank you Stumble's Mate for placing this cahe.
Looked like a great spot for snakes to live but they didn't show themselves to us that day.
Thanks for the cache Stumble's Mate.
