A cold and breezy Sunday was perfect for muggle free conditions today. This helped a lot as I was heading out to try my luck with some of the many Queanbeyan parks caches. Dark clouds appeared at one stage & I thought I might be in for a drenching, but they passed by without issue.
Didn't find this one.
Thanks anyway Oz KEG

When a weekend caching with the boys comes along you grab it by the horns, with kids weekend sport washed out steeba, Hoojar and myself headed south with a goal of completing the Kangaroo power trail in Kowen Forest.
Over 2 days we found 150+ caches, walked through 679 spiderwebs, saw 310 kangaroos, were surprised by 8 deer, patted 1 echidna and stepped over countless fallen, all in the name of fun.
Thanks to all the cache owners who contributed to our weekend and apologises for the generic log, but certainly doesn't detract from the hide or the fun we had.

Another great weekend away with Hoojar and The Rats. This time it was down towards Canberra with a few caches in between. This was one of many that we managed to tackle. TFTC!
Another fantastic weekend away with The Rats and Steeba.
We had been trying for some time to get the timing right to head back to the ACT to knock over the Kowen 'Roo series. On our previous attempt, the Forest was closed. We thought the same would happen this weekend, when we realised that we were clashing with the Mont 24, so we came up with Plan B.
However, Steeba came through with the goods, access was granted, and even a Permit to drive and camp in the Forest was obtained... Excellent! So our plans changed at the very last minute, and we were back on for The 'Roo.
We found about 150 caches over the weekend, the three of us, along with Juno my geo-puppy. We walked, cached, talked and generally had an excellent time, as we always do on our caching trips away. We especially walked through some beautiful scrub in Goulburn and Kowen.
Thank you to all of the cache owners that placed caches that we found over the course of our trip. Sorry about the generic logging, I promise it does not reflect my enjoyment of your cache!
Cheers

Made my way here today before I headed home. I was lucky I got a hint about this one a bit ago so I didn't take long to find but it still had me looking
Good hide Oz Keg and thank you

5142. An afternoon recce to Queanbeyan for a few of these park caches. A muggle free park and a reasonably quick find. I returned it a little better as per the attachment.
Thanks for the cache and the fun.

11905. Found during a Saturday afternoon run with AngelG27.
After an hour relaxing at home after my morning run AngelG27 picked me up for another mini-run this afternoon. Next stop for the day. I also missed this one in January as the dog was going off big time. Today we were ultra quiet and made a quick find - Yay ! Signed log, replaced the cache and we headed off to the next one.
Thanks again Oz Keg !! Slowly getting through them...

Went on a mini mission with Fitzy_1965 in the afternoon to grab a few caches. It was a relaxed afternoon with Fitzy doing the navigation and me driving. A nice way to wile away a sunny spring afternoon!
sixth cache of the afternoon - and another one I had previously DNF'd. This time, we did not search too long, before Fitzy spotted it, slightly easier to see than others in the series. Another DNF wiped from the lists!
Thanks Oz Keg!

Headed out to Queanbeyan to tackle a few more in parks series with LuckyL10n....and this was our first stop. Off to a go start as we had this one fairly quickly. Log was signed and cache replaced and we were off to the next one.....
Thanks Oz KEG....
Thanks Oz KEG....
#4604 - 12:30; I needed to head over to Queanbeyan today to seek out a part for the geoteen's jalopy. I mentioned the mission and the possibility of a spot of caching to Sol de lune when we had lunch yesterday and so a plan was hatched to collect a few more in this series. This was our first stop and after a bit of a look around, we soon had the cache in hand and log signed and the mission was underway. TFTC Oz KEG

I found it a few days ago but was unable to open it to sign the log. Today I stopped by with the Reluctant Geo-spouse and the toolkit. All good. It was just on very tight (not threaded or anything). Watch out for nasty 3 cornered bindies at GZ, I had to carry the Ridgeo-pup out of the area [B)] TFTC Oz KEG, a nicely hidden Urban cache

Well I DID actually find it, but I couldn't get it open.
I shall keep a watch and let the next finder loosen it for me

Meehan, one of our heroes from the Shoalhaven. He explored the Shoalhaven river. Enjoyed the park. TFTC
I'm out on a hot afternoon with some ice water and the GeoSchnauzers. I parked on near a path through houses to the park. The GeoSchnauzers and I then walked along the path to the park, found no muggles, and searched for the cache. The GeoSchnauzers would have provided excellent cover had I needed it, but with no-one around, there was no need. Signed the log, walked back to the car, and had some ice water. Nice hide. Thanks, Oz Keg.
Decided to head out today with the geopups and clean up some in the Queanbeyan area, we had been neglecting our fur kids while looking after everyone else's so they joined us today for a romp in some of the Queanbeyan parks. Think they forgive us now.
After another one with a few DNF's on it we thought we would try our luck since the CO confirmed all was good.
Quick find at GZ and off to the next one.

Went on a last minute caching run to QBN with MTRAX today. We mostly tackled the QBN parks series, with mixed success. I tackled 13 caches and found only 8, MTRAX found a few more - ones I had already found
After a bit of a search we found the sneaky little thing. Not an easy hide to find. TFTC Oz KEG.
Searched high and low but unfortunately had to walk away empty handed on this one. Spent a while searching for this one but wasnt able to claim my smiley here. Maybe next time, thanks anyways Oz KEG
After returning from South Australia I decided to make one last day of it before heading back to work. I was able to get one park I missed last time along with a whole swag of new ones and one other cache at a park that is not a park cache. A great morning.
Thanks.

Another fairly quick drive-by in this series. We could never have imagined there would be so many parks in Queanbeyan
Thanks Oz keg

4/10 We spotted the tell tale sign and quickly had the cache in hand. These ones can be very tricky and have bamboozled us in the past! Another park ticked off , TFTC
Had left this one for a rainy day, but since there has been no rain recently, I decided to find it. The humungus dog on the way in woke the whole suburb, but shut up once I started searching at GZ. Found in 5 minutes. Glad there was noone at the playground.

Went out for a drive as soon as these caches got published. Got two firsts and three seconds. Fortunately, no kids were using the play equipment while I searched as that would have been exceedingly awkward.

# 1757 Sorry for taking so long to add some details to all these logs, and sorry for making them all generic logs with only a little bit of detail on each cache.
We have been trying to keep the streak of finding a cache every day going. We were around the 200 day mark and it wasn't getting any easier. Actually, the daily find isn't that hard but it does take the fun out of the hunt so we have been far less likely to go out on an afternoon of finding bulk caches. Anyway, we found something to make the daily find even more challenging. Try moving house at the same time......
Over the past two to three weeks we have been packing, moving and then trying to unpack, all while working full time. The daily find has been difficult but thankfully, the is no shortage of caches to find.
Now we have the internet on at the new house, I will try and keep our logs up to date.
