Pretty sure this is missing, spent some time digging around and searching all possible hiding spots. Great spot for a cache though.
Looks like I might have to check this next time through, it has the tendency to get a buried sometimes
No luck in finding this one. We seemed to be in the right place but the cache eluded us. Enjoyed reading the history of the power station, and would never have known it was here without the cache placement.
Although the hint seemed clear I had no luck. But an interesting place to stop. Thanks.
Time to head for home after a 12 day break. We stayed last night with family in Bulls, and chose to travel to Auckland via Wanganui and SH4. We haven't travelled that route before, so had a reaasonable number of caches to find along the way. After a detour to Ohakune for some world famous chocolate eclairs (Yes! They are open today unlike other times we have stopped) we continued along SH4 until we reached the Piriaka Power Station and this cache. The cache was uncovered, so after signing we made sure it was rehidden well. Plenty of water flowing past today. TFTC
A quick find as I slowly make my way home. No muggle worries as I reached for this cache.

Yay! Found with the littles. River was raging today. What a great spot. Thanks for bringing us here.
We were on our way to Hamilton for our daughters graduation, but allowed enough time for a couple of caches along the way.
We have had a go at this one a while back but couldn't find it, but it appeared to be back in a more findable possie so we thought we'd stop by again.
This time it was a very quick and straight forward find.
We dropped off a TB and left a pet rock - a kiwi.
Thanks for setting this up cosclan

We are on vacation in New Zealand and of course we seek some caches.
Thanks for this one!

Made the stop, found parking nearby, and quickly found the cache. Log signed, and returned to its hiding place, I then walked down to the water, to appreciate the hide, and the history of the area.
Thanks cosclan for the hide, and bringing us here.

#6384. I am on my way to Auckland on a road trip. The family decided to go north by train to take in the scenery. That means I have 2 days to get there and no complaints when I stop for caches. Life is sweet. Stayed overnight at Taumarunui and now picking up local caches before heading north. This one was a nice quick stop and the hint had me looking in the correct spot immediately. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks cosclan for hiding the cache here.
Today we made a trip from Stratford to the National Park Village, just short before Whakapapa, thereby visiting many new sightseeing locations and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was between good and not so good all day long, colder in the morning but it got warmer in the afternoon. Clouds were our compagnions the whole trip.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to cosclan for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Piriaka power. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

Heading to the MEGA event in Upper Hut, Wellington, down a not so common trail for us to thin out a few caches along the way and the hopefully on the way back Monday.
Muggles were out in force due to the good sunny weather, so this one allowed me to make a find without too much attention.
Now dark so out comes the torch for a little search....came back this way Monday during the daylight....lovely spot for a cache... and a stretch.

Well we are off to the Mega and making a road trip out of this time I have off work . . . . . after stopping at Taumarunui for McDs we are back off on our way to Ohakune for the night. A quick find for us here today . . . TFTC
Found after digging in the likely place. Very well covered, have left out a little to make it easier for the next hunter. TFTC!
On my way south to Taupo for the night, and other areas for a weekend of caching. Also looking at caches that fulfill the ‘400 Challenge’ along the way. Looking for old caches too for the Jasmer challenge as well.
Nice to pull in here heading south and see this old school power plant, lovely huge Redwood tree too! Found the cache after a bit of a dig and took some fotos while I was at it.

Stopped at the rest area at the top of the hill, and was surprised that there was no cache there. This was the closest cache, so we stopped here as well. Easily found. Nice big tree. Bonus trackable as well. TFTC.
Auf dem Weg in den Tongariro Nationalpark, haben wir dieses Döschen noch gesucht und gefunden.
Didn't find anything, but was put off from looking because of the toilet paper behind
Had a fantastic day traveling down here from north of Morrinsville, climbing up Mt Ngaruahoe and back home again with my son who is over from Sydney for two weeks. We were really hoping for good weather and had a beautiful day. This was the start of our caching for the day as we couldn't afford to stop very much but made an exception here! TFTC - lovely spot
Stopped here to have a stretch on the way south and check out a piece of water I have pulled trout out of in the past.
Left the GPSr in the car and went for a wander with the hide soon spotted - TNLNSL.
Thanks for placing a cache at this historic power station cosclan.

Nice and dry cache. Never noticed this building on the few times we have driven past. Thank you.
It was very easy but we went there 6 times and wasn't there but the 7th time around it was there.
We stoped here today when we were on our way to the railcart adventure.
The coordinates have been a bit off for me. Maybe my mobile needs to adjust to New Zealand

After a fabulous weekend away at The Salvation Army's Blue Mountain Adventure Centre at nearby Raurimu helping to run a leader's team building weekend, I thought that I could stop on the way back to Auckland and grab this cache on the way. And so all of our convoy of vehicles stopped while I found this cache with a couple of others who had never heard of geocaching and who were quite curious as to what it was that I was up to. Anyway, once I arrived at GZ, I recognised it straight away as I had actually camped in this spot after a day on the river around 20 years ago... man how time flies! Anyway, thanks to your hint and a number of pairs of eyes helping out I soon had the cache in hand, log book signed, and cache put back nicely... no problems at all. I also took the trackable destined for the upcoming Mega in the South Island. While I live in Auckland, I know a number of people who are heading down to the Mega, and so I will put it in a cache in Howick for them to retrieve it from. So thank you cosclan for taking the time to set up this cache, and for reminding me of an adventure from many years ago... I really appreciate your efforts! Nice! TFTC.
An interesting spot – thanks for pointing it out. Long arms needed for this one, but a nice dry hiding hole. TFTC
Last cache of our 3-day weekend with birthday girl sveppi. Interesting location, thanks for educating us! Cache in good condition, well done.
On my way from Waitomo to Ohakune, I wanted to find some caches along the route. This one was one of them to break the journey. The cache was hidden pretty quickly. Thanks for hiding and showing!
Our journey todey goes from Tongariro to Te Awamutu. But we have enough time to found some caches near the road. So we found this one.
Thanks for showing this places and hidding the caches. Greetings from Germany!!!

This was an easy find as it was exposed so after signing log poked it back where we thought it should have been. tftc
#13747. The power station is an interesting spot; good place for a cache. TFTC.
Day 4 our North Is trip, and today we are traveling from Chateau Tongariro to Stanmore Bay. What a difference a day makes and today is warm, sunny and with blue skies which is a welcome change after a couple of drizzly days.
There were a few fishermen around so I pretended to be interested in what they were doing while StreetWalker looked for the cache. It didn't take him long and soon we were back on the road again. TFTC.

Quick find - was introducing salhud to caching, this was their first ever find! TFTC!
Another quick stop, search and replace as Team Welsh and I made our way South. T4tc
A quick easy find between showers at a quite magnificent tree by the power station. TFTC
After attending the event in Turangi we headed over to National Park then returned on the northern road back to Turangi.
What an interesting location - especially the enormous tree. thanks for bringing us to this great setting.

Oooh! Here goes another favourite point from me. What a magnificent specimen!! I wanted to hug it!! Standing there so tall and proud!! Thank you for placing a cache here cosclan to make sure we didn't miss seeing GZ today. I also took a wander down to the river and admired that as well. So all was good here. Cheers and happy caching!
What a massive redwood tree. I would have loved to have seen this during daylight.
Logged with GCDroid. After my overnight stop down the road further, I decided to back track and pick up some of the caches I had missed as I went by yesterday. This was one of them and what a magnificent specimen of a tree that is - probably planted before the power station was built.
Nice drive by cache but I cannot help wondering if it should not be classed as a micro...
Taking a drive down around the mountain for some fresh air, stopped for some caches along the way.
Nice quick find, have intended to stop here many times in the past but always had people close behind me. TFTC

I was one of a group of motivated Hamiltonian Geocachers (Cats&Dragons, HKCB & 11hpg11) who decided to head to Mount Ruapehu to complete the LOTR series of caches, along with some other geocaches in the area. This big day necessitated leaving Hamilton at 4am. We had prearranged to meet Tufty at 7am who we met up with in one of the lower car parks. Having two vehicles was fantastic and meant we didn’t have to keep backtracking and always seemed to be walking downhill. We signed the logs today WOAC which I think was decided was for Waikato Old Age Geocachers.
Even though the weather was pretty poor with steady rain for the first half of the day we still had a great time. I really enjoyed the walks which were varied and showed off the uniqueness of this part of the country. The company was great, it was my first time out with Tufty and really enjoyed getting to know him. There were certainly plenty of spots which reminded me of scenes from the Lord of the Ring’s films. A big thank you to the cache owners for taking the time to place all the geocaches we found today. We rarely had to look long before making a find thanks to accurate coordinates, sensible hides and descriptive hints.
This was one of the lasts finds of the day on our way home. TFTC.

Another HOAC mission down to the Central Plateau for the LOTR trail and anything else nearby, involving Cats&Dragons, Iammrwalker, 11HPG11 and myself, but this time Tufty tagged along too. With the new member and us all being from the Waikato the logs were all signed WOAC (Waikato Old Age Caches).
An early start from Hamilton, after a small detour to pick up a late sleeper, meant we were leaving a little after 4am. With this being the only weekend we could do this trail meant we had to dress for the weather and a few more layers were thrown on. After meeting Tufty at the arranged meeting point at 7am a quick plan was made for the day and those extra layers put on.
It was a fantastic day out even though the weather wasn't great, but it did clear up throughout the day. A massive thanks to all the CO's for the placements and for showing us more of this awesome place. All up just over 70 finds for the day and the LOTR series completed all in one day!
Heading back home now after completeing the LOTR series and a few others up the mountain. However there is always time for a few more caches, so grabbed a few on the way home that were close. No troubles with this find, thought C&D walked right over it before mrwalker made the find. Find #72 for the day.

This was the start of a great day caching with friends.
Up at 3.30am leaving home at 4.00 for a great drive down here, 70 caches for the day on the mountain. So in the company iammrwalker, HKCB & 11HPG11 (members of HOAC) we set off to the mountain. It was with great interest that we had been keeping a very close eye on the weather for the past week but of all days I think we could have looked at this appeared about the best.
Although the weather may not have been the best, being keen trampers we were decked out appropriately for just about every eventuality that the conditions may throw at us. Having access to the two vehicles defiantly made the task all that much easier (ferrying of parties between start and end of tracks). So for the day we managed to cover 460 kms (approx 23 kms tramping) and locate approximately 70 caches. A great way to being the weekend and still made it home by 7.30 pm.
Having completed the upper part of the Bruce Road and the LOTR series we collected these on the way out and before we headed back north and Home.
Thanks for the cache, Thanks for the placement

This one had been on my radar for a wee while now, been in the area a few times over the last few months but haven't had the time to attack these trails. When a plan was hatched with some other Hamilton cachers to get them all done in one day, I was a little apprehensive but I still said yes! So today our team consisted of Cats&Dragons, Iammrwalker, HKCB and Tufty and we signed the logs as WOAC to save room.
I almost missed today altogether when my alarm decided not to wake me at 3.20am for a 4am departure but luckily I got a phone call to awaken me from my slumber and it was off on the road toward the mountain. Good to catch up and hear the latest caching tales. The weather wasn't looking the greatest but nothing to put us off, just meant a few more layers of clothing. It was great to see Tufty at 7am at the trail ready to go, not put off by the rain. Having two vehicles also made it a lot easier and cut a few kms off the days total.
All in all another fantastic day out with friends, a few caches collected, a fair few kms walked and home by 7.30pm... and I think I was asleep by 8pm! Many thanks to all the cache owners who tempted us out into the wild!
An interesting place of history. Thanks for bringing us here.
Quick grab here while takin the loooooonnnngggg way home to taranaki via wanganui due to road closures. Stopping off at east park and grabs to occupy my mind. Tftc
Miss 7 found this cache with ease...a few swaps always makes it that bit more exciting...beautiful river running alongside here...tftc
Lovely big tree and it took longer to find than it should have, added my pathtag tftc
Heading south on the third leg of my holiday journey so decided to grab as many "drive by" caches as possible. Very nice little hide. TN, left a pathtag. TFTC cosclan
Drove up just as some other cachers were putting it away. Nice to meet some other cachers while on the road and met up with them again at the next cache as well. TFTC
1741 The power of water eh. Last time I was near this river was 14 mths ago when I did the 5 day paddle
Called in to check today and found cache snuggled up all good in its original hide.
I went along with kennyg22 and he said it is not where he had previously found it.
Great place for a cache. Nice shade under the big tree on a hot day too. TFTC
Overcast and drizzly day but tree afforded nice cover. Well secured cache. TFTC
This had certainly been rehidden well! It took three of us quite a bit of searching and finally the muggle found it. What a surprise! Left a bemused looking (ground)hog. A fav for the clever hide.
