25 September 2024 3:34pmFind# 730Nice easy find once we found our way into the cemetery.TFTC
What a quaint cemetery. The views are amazing. Surprised that there are so many newer graves for a rural area.Log replaced after I signed the last spot in the old one.TFTC
Initially the map took us to the wrong pine tree. But after a quick recalibration the coordinates were accurate and along with the hint the cache was quickly found! TFTC
Found with isopeda after the event earlier day. Headed off to focus on the Ballarat Geotour but took advantage of the locations to collect some extra caches as well. Tftc
That was a bit of a surprise. The cemetery is much larger than we expected. Nice views from up here. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Got 5 days off from work so I decided to come to Ballarat and do the Geo Tour before its gone, also grabbing random caches and Adventures labs along my journey. So thanks to all who have placed caches. Sl cache replaced.
I’ve driven past the cemetery lots of times, and I thought I’d call in today to collect the cache that resides here. Log signed and on my way. TFTC
Outnabout for some solo caching. It’s always a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Found by Rebel Acts.
with it being School holidays in Victoria I had some time spare to head to Millicent where I teamed up with the Empire for a few days caching in the area, we had a fantastic time exploring the area.
This is one of the caches found on route to SA. I always love the history that can learnt in cemeteries, the views here were fantastic.
Thanks McAdies for the cache.

Quick find whilst travelling the back roads. Lovely view from here.

Thanks for bringing us out here. Nice country resting place - views are beautiful. TFTC
One more cache to find on our back route from Ballarat to Beaufort after today’s Geotour Event in Buninyong. A long drive from the main road to the cemetery added to the atmosphere. Accurate coordinates made for a quick find. Unfortunately the used nappy in a nearby crevice of the tree spoiled our fun and we weren’t quite equipped to remove it. We do not recommend using the toilets here either. Generally it’s a beautiful, quiet country cemetery.
Out collecting smiles with AlexiKatty, and saw this one sitting there all green. Well I had to fix that, always good finding a new cache. TFTC
Driving around for our weekend cache hunt.
Found this one in a cemetery we didn’t know excited. Found with with ThaKraken.

We could think of no better way to start a new year than to go caching with ilook4geo on a slow route to attend our first event of the year.
This was one of the caches we picked up along the way. All was in good condition and the log was signed with both names. Thanks go to Mcadies for placing this cache.

Came along with goingplaces2 today to get going on the caching hunt for 2022. Found this cache with no problem and signed the log. TFTC.
Just got soggy finding Guthrie’s Falls and thought we’d do some caching to get our feet dry in the car under full pelt hot air. Lovely place, peaceful and nice views TFTC!
After a good weekend in Avoca and the surroundings enjoying the company of other Geocachers and, of course, finding quite a few caches, we headed home to the Bellarine Peninsula. It was a lovely crisp clear morning for the second morning in a row, and it boded well for caching. We have found several cemetery caches this weekend. None have had such a long driveway as Carngham. This cemetery would be a beautiful final resting place. The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache, McAdies, and it was great to meet you in Avoca on the weekend.
Catching up with a missed log
Having three events in Ballarat in one day as well as a Geo Tour that we hadn't started yet we decided to head up on the Friday and grab a few of the Geo Tour and it would also save us from getting up super early to attend the first event.
After the event we headed out this way and weren't going to go passed this one.
We always enjoy a cemetery cache and this one was certainly no exception. When the time comes this is certainly a very scenic location to have your final resting place. The cache itself turned into an easy find in the first place we looked but not the first time we looked there and we are happy to say that we got it on the second round and after adding our name to the log we went for z bit of a wander through the cemetery and were surprised by the age of the some of the graves and also saw some very elaborate headstones.
Many thanks McAdies for placing this cache in such an interesting location.

We are in Ballarat for a few days to complete the GeoTour. This was an accidental visit as we trying to find our way to the nearby GeoTour cache. So as we were passing nearby we made a slight detour and quickly located the cache. Thanks to McAdies for the cache.
What a great place to come, love reading old gravestones, give you respect for the living.
On the way to the dentist, and wanting to keep the run of days with finds going. Nice simple discovery in a lovely spot.
As we approached GZ we were enjoying the views. The cache container was in good condition and well hidden. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.
Out with Bunadoorian for a day exploring this area of Victoria which we have driven through but not stopped in. After doing some of the BSRT series in Skipton and Linton, the Labcache in Linton and having a lovely lunch in Linton - Bunadoorian and I headed north to Snake Valley to explore a bit more of Victoria. We have had a great day. We enjoyed the views on the road in to here. Bunadoorian found the cache while I was checking out some of the graves. Find 19 for today. TFTC and for bringing us here - McAdies
A morning spent in this area gathering a couple of caches.
All quiet here as I expected.
Simple find as expected.

Yep. Found it. A final "resting" place? Yeah, right, as if I'm gonna "rest" in one of these places. *Not!* There's no way I'm gonna *shuffle off this mortal coil* without a fight! There's far too much to see and do, now isn't there?
What ever! I found the sodden thing so I'm still alive and kickin'!

A really good cemetery find here
So peaceful,
but with such great views out over Mt Cole and Mt Avoca.
Why are the best views saved for the dead ?? [:o]
They are never going to appreciate them

Great views. I needed to be taller to see this one. Thanks for a great cache
Nice quick easy find for us on our way home. Thanks for placing this for us to find.
TFTC. We were out and about chasing a long multi, Did not believe my co-rods but we were sort of in the area. Besides there are caches here. We are camped at Haddon and decided to cache out this way as the caches looked interesting and we had not been out this way before. WE normally like to wander around these cemeteries but we had an eye on the weather and wanted to get back to camp before it hit.
On a few occasions, Ninny Muggins and I have tried to organise a day of caching, but other plans have always got in the way. But today the plans came together as we made our way to Beaufort to Celebrate International Caching Day with an event and some great caches around Beaufort. All 30 caches located with no DNF’s on a perfect day with blue sky.
A quick find was made allowing us to take in the last sun rays of a great day caching.
Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the Cache McAidies

Gotta love caching - it takes you to great places. Great views from this cemetery. Thanks for placing this cache.
Find #2161 for me. Found at 3.40 pm while visiting the area from Bendigo. This was a quick find for me today and an inquisitive rooster came out of nowhere to eye me off while I added my name to the logbook. This was my fourth and last find for the day. Thanks for bringing me here today McAdies and thanks for the cache!
Out this afternoon to find some caches and see some rarely seen countryside this side of Ballarat before making our way to Beaufort for this evening's New Year's Eve event.
Not sure if I have ever been to a cemetery that had views as good as this one. No wonder the locals don't want to leave!
Gps had the wanders and Mrs Perpetuallylost found this one ( and took much delight in it!)
Thx McAdies for placing a cache here!

Found It........While sitting down having breakfast this morning It was decided to head north to chase some caches. After setting off from the previous cache we came across a damsel in distress on a seldom used back road with a flat tyre on her horse float so MrH_3 sprung into action to change it for her as help was hours away and in 15 min had the tyre changed and the horse reloaded and both of us heading on our way. So after our good deed for the day arrived at the gates to the cemetery and then we pulled up near GZ and the search commenced and soon after the cache was in our hand and with the log signed we continued on our journey. Thanks McAdies for the cache and bringing us to this hidden little cemetery
no dead people seen.
We stopped for a cuppa and cake here. I was introduced to some mega cookies. Yummy. The wind was like ice.
Found as part of my 2017 Alexandra Mega experience. This cache added to the fun and enjoyment of my trek to the east and back from Adelaide. While there were a few thunder storms, there were mainly clear skies and I never saw a snake! [^]
Thanks to McAdies and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

After visiting a new Earthcache nearby, my willing chauffeur brought me to this very serene spot with a magnificent view.
I loved the huge trees, thanks so much for bringing me here to see it all.

Found by Mary & David at 1636. A FP even before Mary got out of the car. You know she loves exploring cemeteries. Take time to wander around here and think of the lives well lived or cruelly cut short. The symbolisation of the monuments is pretty obvious - the broken pillar is a life cut short (one son died aged 19). One headstone in a family plot reads "Little Georgie aged 4". You can imagine how ivy means persistence, endurance, perhaps in overcoming sickness. Look for the carved bouquet of lilies, lily of the valley, roses and buds, indicating purity, and a beautiful life for a Mother. You could really research some family history here, with many generations well represented. Our thanks to McAdies.
Came back out here today what I started yesterday. I love cemetery caches. They are so filled with history and tragedy. I roamed around for ages checking out the graves. Thanks for bringing me here
A nice quick find.
Unfortunately it was in the dark, so we didn't do a walk around,
But from what we could see from the car lights it appeared very neat.

I don't know if there has been cache creep or not, but I found the cache in a different type of tree to that in the hint. No matter as the coords were good and the cache was easy to find.

Heading toward Beaufort for the Meet & Greet Event, we were able to travel a byway rather than the highway and catch a few more smiley tokens.
Thanks McAdies for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Found as we headed home after some non caching related activities, we have never visited this cemetery, and haven't been passed this whole area since before the fires. Thanks for giving us a reason to stop and visit a new area, log retrieved, signed and replaced as found thanks for the fun,
Nice fun and easy find... but the geokids were a bit to small. We found it when the geomum stepped in. TFTC
Found in the company of Wozzle68, nice quick find after a few photos of the well hidden cemetery

Thanks McAdies for bringing us to this nice out of the way cemetery, I have been past many times but never knew it was tucked back here. A nice quck find by st37e while on a mission to pick up some unfound caches in this part of the map.
We travelled into Ballarat today for the Lake Esmond Afternoon Tea event, and decided to drive in the long way via this cemetery and cache. We both could hear the sounds of children playing yet we could see none around, not even in the distance. Probably sounds carried up by the winds, but eerie nonetheless. Walked around a bit and read some of the headstones. Thank you for bringing us here McAdies.
TFTC. Out today with Jaggedwings and the Geomutt to enjoy the sunshine and pick up some caches in the outer lying areas of Ballarat and surrounds. Found ourselves out here and exploring a very old cemetery with some fascinating history. Thanks for this one McAdies.
Nice easy find. I pulled right up to the spot and just put my hand in and got it!!! Muzza found the last one quickly and this time it was my turn. TFTC
Walked up and found it instantly. Then had a bit of a wander around this beautiful cemetery. Oldest we found was 1864, some headstones have stories how the person died - very interesting!
A nice quick find which then allowed us time to wander around the cemetery. Great history here. Thanks McAdies.
Today was all about the Skipton Cave Event, with a couple of caches before, and a few afterwards as a bonus. Found in the company of GenieJoan.
My thanks to McAdies for the cache.

An afternoon of caching saw us (me, hubby, 5 & 6 year old geokids) heading to some of those caches which we just hadn't managed to find yet. A quick find here. Some amazing houses about here too. Enjoyed a quick stroll through the cemetery. Thanks for the cache
My good caching mates the suscoe cachers suggested that we head back up the highway for another days caching around Ballarat. It did not look very promising on the way up as it was overcast and drizzling rain but on our arrival the weather cleared and we had a long dry warm day's caching.
I have not been to this area before and what a lovely spot to be buried, after signing the log it was time to head off to the next on our list.
Thanks McAdies for placing this cache.

Suscoe was in the Ballarat area today in the very good company of our caching mate Bushfire.
It was a pretty big day with an early start.
Rainy drizzle accompanied us early and then some sunny breaks found us as the day went by.
With mild temperatures we enjoyed the travels.
Well this was a surprise with such terrific views.
We wondered about living in the house not so far away when the nights were dark and stormy and the wind was whistling through the trees.
Thanks to the McAdies for placing this cache here to show the geo world this place.

With bicycles on board we headed down to Linton to ride the Ballarat Rail Trail up to Scarsdale to find the caches along that part.
On our way down we made a couple of quick stops along the way to grab a couple before we started the Trail. We have been past here many times, not realising there was a cemetary in the distance.A quick find then off to Linton we went to start the trail.

Second find of the day on my way to Beaufort for the NYE morning tea event. I left nice and early so I could beat the heat. This cemetery was a bit of a surprise. Larger than I had expected it to be. However given the age and the conditions many people used to work in in this distinct, it shouldn't be so surprising. A nice easy find before taking a walk around the grounds. Many thanks for placing this one for us to find McAdies.
