This one was definitely the most tedious to reach so far

16-Jun-24
Nice walk even found it in the dark tftc

24-Mar-24
A quick find during my long run today! Thanks for the cache

17-Mar-24
Whys that even growing here?

27-Jan-24
OK, so I found a little set of old drafts, going back nearly 12 months, that I have missed completing. I won't remember anything useful about at least some of them at this stage. But I do remember I found them and they were cool and they were in good shape and I am really grateful to the cache owners for their efforts and for helping to keep this game so much fund and... yeah. TFTC Smile

26-Nov-23
This was my second visit to this cache, and today it was a success! I found a small hint in another log and it made my search much easier. After a recent run-in with some leeches, I wasn't a huge fan of crawling about, but it had to be done. Thanks for placing this series.

08-Nov-23
A bit of a ride around the top part of Lysterfield Park to collect a few caches.Lovely weather, but a few very steep hills - glad I had an e-MTB.Luckily Doris was a good colour to spot from a distance, I wasn't looking forward to a bison in the bush.Forgot to get the clue! I seem to make a habit of that. Thanks, Robmc.

20-Aug-23
What if venomous animals developed geocaches as decoys to lure in unsuspecting catchers before preying on them? Just think about it... Smile

Thank you for the fun cache!

24-Jun-23
Found it! Continuing on my walk today through Lysterfield Park and neared GZ and headed off track to find the cache. At GZ I had a wide choice of invasive species to choose from and I managed to find the correct one first go. TFTC SL and gathered the clue although I’m not sure if I still have the others that I found. Oh well.

26-Mar-23
it is great to be out here today walking around.I live close by but never come out this way. It is great out here

26-Mar-23
Just like a Jitterbug there was a bit of Crawling around going on to find this cache, trying to work out what the clue was referring too took alot of guess work, but got there in the end. Very cute cache gaurdian.

08-Feb-23
Thank you The Rustys for placing and maintaining Doris - JITTERBUGS SERIES for us to find today.

Find # 1614.

New the bush when I saw it

26-Nov-22
Unfortunately this is a no for me. I tried to find it, but I'm not 100% up to date on my foreign species list for the park. If I'm in the area in the future, I'll have another look.

20-Sep-22
Ride, walk rest, repeat was the routine for me today. Damn hills!
Took a little finding as the GPS was a bit erratic due to the trees.
Thanks to The Rusty's

08-Sep-22
Found it TFTC

07-Sep-22
The weather this week continues to be amazing and so today I decided to make the most of it. It was finally time to finish off the NHL series I had started over a year ago and gather some other nearby caches.

Deciding I hadn’t completed enough walking, I diverted past these couple of caches. This one took a little search but I soon got the bug and the cache popped out.

Thanks The Rustys for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Another stop for a cache on my walk. May have lost my pen around here but could not find on return and getting dark so have to keep going

Thanks The Rustys for the cache.
Found at 5:23 pm on 20/8/2022.
Find # 2527

04-Jul-22
Almost gave up.
Spotted in the end and clue retrieved.
Scooting my way through the park today.
About to tackle the first big hill.

13-May-22
Out with xambo4u we cached in the Harkaway area.
We had to change plans when we discovered the gates to Cardinia Dam were locked (and would stay so for the next 5 weeks) while they repaired the dam wall.
We needed to find a couple more caches in the Jitterbug series to be able to do the puzzle. A great drive in and beautiful walk to GZ, where we found the cache and the clue. Thanks The Rusty’s.

13-May-22
Out and about with echidna44 for another enjoyable day of caching and chatting. Our plan for the day being to get to Cardenia Reservoir to finish off we started some time ago. We needed this one to finished of a mystery there. Very impressed with the housing here. They would need a car to get to the bbq. No real path but traversed up and found the pesky little critter. Very well hidden, not where we started to look at all. Another clue, on one more to go. Thanks for the series The Rustys we shall return o complete when gates are open.

21-Feb-22
As always with these cheeky bugs, once you've got the right angle they jump right out at you! Today was no exception, it just took me a while to find the right angle haha!
It was a beautiful morning in the park and now that everyone has gone back to work and school it felt like I had the place to myself. The last time I wandered near here I saw a very cute echidna but he wasn't out today.
When I finally went to sign the log I think it signed me more than I signed it as I ended up with ink all over my fingers hahaha! Thankfully someone had written the clue on the newest piece of paper as the old one is falling to pieces.
Thanks for the cache!

19-Feb-22
Lost my mojo after several finds today. Oh well, will come back here again.

06-Jul-21
Weather was cool and the ground was wet underfoot from early morning rain but still it was great to be out and about today for a walk around Lysterfield Park

This was the 4th of 5 finds
Great to be able to tick another off in this series
All found in excellent condition
Many thanx to The Rusty's

20-Jun-21
Was a tricky one to find. E was the one who did but was then recovering to log was also difficult. HN

19-Jun-21
Clambered over and under many fallen logs along the quarry track today, due to the recent big storm. Got to the right spot, then trekked off the path to forage around for this one -- very awkward to get at, but we found it. Grabbed the clue (which I usually forget to do). TFTC

09-Jun-21
Yep, 5 in one night

27-Sep-20
Good little find while walking through the bush Smile

23-Jul-20
Found @14:20 #7267
Day 20/365. I think now I am mad to be attempting a 365 streak during these crazy times... I was masked up so with this extra camo I made the simple approach to GZ where it took a few minutes to spot the cache. A rather grey cold day which felt a little depresing. Anyway the task is done and this exercise is keeping me sane.... Clue noted.
TFTC The Rusty's

17-Nov-19
Cheers for the find. We are very tired after a long walk through Lysterfield Park. Just a few minutes away from the car but had to stop for this last cache.

13-Oct-19
The fourth of 8 caches today with Fitzelfleas and geochild. Enjoyed exploring this end of Lysterfield - beautiful views to be had along the way Smile TFTC

13-Oct-19
Pretty! And great walk up to this one. I’ve never really explored Lysterfield before. Lots of interesting rocks around. TFTC

27-Sep-19
Found early on a lovely morning. My second find in this series. In good condition and clue noted. As mentioned by the previous finder, when using the phone app, this cache disappears when zooming in. Must be a 'bug' in the app.

11-Sep-19
Had some time to kill before work this morning. Dropped GeoboyB12 at nearby school and looked for any green local caches. Spotted this one on a path we had walked many times. Strangely enough when I zoom in on this cache it disappears. If I zoom oioutt re-appears. Clearly never noticed that before. Took me about 10 minutes. I was trying to keep my feet dry... that mission failed. Finally spotted the little blighter. If to get dry shoes and socks and head to work.

07-Sep-19
Out on a cold spring day.
Great cache
Thanking for bringing me here
Cycling Guy

28-Jul-19
A quick find with the geokids and Earle1. The geokids had fun climbing on some nearby logs. Tftc

28-Jul-19
Out with hudsonrubyeg enjoying a fantastic day for winter. The view here amazing. Grandson loves this series. Tftc

16-Jun-19
GeoKod loves Doris just sitting there! TFTC!

26-Jan-19
Found out on a small Australia Day geo loop in this corner of the park this afternoon. This cache was on our return loop and require a small detour off the main path. Cache spotted by youngest geokids and log was soon signed. Thanks for the placement, enjoyed the walk in here.

31-Dec-18
I see you hiding there, you jittery lil thing.
My but aren't you cute.
In most species the male is the most colourful.
I think your mate must be quite spectacular then.
Happy New Year to you Doris.

31-Dec-18
Ah Doris, you are a pretty bug.
Hiding there, waiting for us to visit you.
Thanks to The Rusty's for the cache.

26-Dec-18
This one was a nice walk in, and took a few moments to locate, even though I was looking in the right area.

I really should finish up this series - only one clue left to find. That said, I suspect some of the earlier ones I found I'll have the clue on my old phone so I may need to refind the caches.

22-Dec-18
We parked at the picnic grounds in Churchill Park and rode around up and down hills, and past here where we stopped for a hunt and another find. A nice easy find due to good coordinates.
Thanks

11-Nov-18
Found on a beautiful arvo in a spectacular spot. Cheers for bringing us here. Loved the hunt.

11-Nov-18
Running about doing a few chores. Passing near to here so I decided to reward myself with a couple of caches.
Found Doris hanging about. Signed her visitors book and moved on. cute!

10-Aug-18
Once we stopped looking at the wrong trees this was an easy find. Clue obtained and eventually we will complete the series. Tftc

29-Jul-18
Have never been to this side of the park before, so thanks for bringing us here. Yesterday the weather was beautiful, today Doris will be swinging her little heart out. Thanks, The Rusty’s.

10-Jun-18
As we approached GZ, we used the hint to help locate the cache. Good to be able to find Doris. TFTC The Rusty's.

06-Jun-18
It’s awhile since I’ve been here for MTB so out to explore, find a few caches and see what has changed - more management for starters. Great time of day and plenty of resident Roos for company. TFTC

12-May-18
Nice quick easy find in this beautiful park. I have found quite a few of these now, might have to gun for the final soon! Tftc

06-May-18
The strange thing about this cache, is it doesn't show up on my map. I did others in this series and realised that there was this one too,and the only way I could see it was by searching for it. I have been past here many times, not realising there was a cache here.
I went for a two hour walk through lysterfield with my boyfriend and his best mate, it was a beautiful mild autumn day. It took me a little while to find this because my GPS was jumping around and there were a few introduced species, not just the one in the nearby area. One of the guys spotted it before I did, even being newbies that they are.

23-Mar-18
I was in this area today providing support to a team of cachers on the Oxfam Trailwalker event. There was some time before I was due at the next checkpoint so I was able to head to this part of the park and pick off a few caches that I hadn’t previously found. This was my second find of four and as it was the furthest from where I entered the park I headed out to here on a hot day. Once I identified the correct flora this was a quick find. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache The Rustys. I’ve not been following this series but clue noted for future reference.

Fun, walk thru the bush, search. Cool
Found it.
Thanks The Rustys Wink

13-Mar-18
Out for the caching day with crank1 on a perfect weather. Nice view of country style houses and hills. Easy to found. Thanks The Rusty's for the cache.

11-Feb-18
Grabbed the clue, I think I forgot to get a clue from the last jitterbug! Yikes.

11-Feb-18
Found with Danoz. TFTC

26-Sep-17
Just catching up on logs... Found during the school holidays with a non-cacher friend. This is a part of the park we haven't explored yet.

Thanks The Rustys fro bringing us here Smile

23-Sep-17
I found Doris in good condition, happily resting on her branch. I tried to have a conversation with her, only she blanked me. So rude. Regardless I reached in, grabbed the log, signed and returned, all while she was ignoring me. TFTC The Rustys

09-Aug-17
Was in the area with buddyclub to pick up the last of the NHL series and decided to drop over here to check out Jurassic Park. This was close to where we parked so thought we'd grab it as well. Eventually found it. Tftc

09-Aug-17
Grabbed the nearby Jurassic Park so thought we should come and get this too, being so close and all. Now need to get the other jitterbugs. Tftc

06-Aug-17
After finding the nearby cache we walked up here for the smilie, the nearby properties are incredible! Lots of rabbits darting from our path and a shy kangaroo watched us intently as we followed Mr 12 who still struggles to read directions on the phone. He lead us straight passed gz until I called him back as I'd spotted the hint. Tftc, a quick find on a long walk as we were walking at toddler pace.

08-Jun-17
Parked at a spot that I have been to a couple of times before when caching. Enjoyed the stroll and an easy enough find thanks to the hint. Thanks to The Rusty's.

30-Apr-17
Geokids found this one today. First one for us in this series.

23-Apr-17
Out for some time with my geoson. Found this one on the way to do some cache maintenance

30-Nov-16
Another day out caching with Pprass, we had to finish off the NHL series and picked up a few other great caches in the area, we used electric bikes for some of them and others we walked. Thanks The Rustys for the cache.

30-Nov-16
Found at 10:15 AM GAFF5 in the company of Rebel Acts.
A little harder to spot as the foliage is growing very well around here. We thought that the Terrain was a tad more than a 2.0 especially with all of the fallen timber strewn around. We picked up the code, but unfortunately there is no way that we will be finishing off the series while visiting from Port Macquarie.
Thanks The Rustys.

29-Nov-16
Today we explored Berwick and surrounds using geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. An easy find and collected the required clue for the final cache.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

25-Oct-16
Amazingly this is my fourth find in the series without really meaning to come across them. Clearly the CO has placed them in exactly the right spots for various walks around this part of Melbourne.
What's more the CO has craftily spaced her hides such that each one leads onto the next so that Finding Fantasia has a regular stream of visitors despite a decent set of elevation/descent profile for the average cacher and being a fair distance from the nearest parking spot. VERRRY sneaky but in the best way possible.
I think I'm going to put her on the list of hiders whom I must find all of their caches because their caches tick a few boxes of what I think make geocaching such an enjoyable hobby/sport.

02-Oct-16
Ha no idea that this bush track existed so close to our home! Doris was ravishing in red. Tftc!

26-Sep-16
Was at another rustys hide and made the short walk to this one, a quick find today.
T4TC.

#202 - 3.10pm
Doris is the 3rd Jitterbug I've encountered, though I must confess to it being an unexpected pleasure. I was up this way for the first time looking for a few last minute Geosportz points, lol. But how could I resist a quick rendezvous with the delightful Doris?!

Think I signed in the wrong spot, so ended up signing both sides of the log. Whoops.

First time I've seen the amazing views from these tracks. Thanks for getting me one step closer to the extravaganza, Rustys. Loving the series.
Smile

11-Aug-16
Reasonably quick find - once we sorted out the best way to approach. TFTC

08-Aug-16
Found with the McTreasure Seekers, tftc

Out collecting some of the NHL Series last night and did the extra couple of k's to pick up[ this cache. TFTC

28-Jun-16
Picking up some NHL mysteries. Grabbed this kinda on the way. Tftc

26-Jun-16
It was a long day for my youngest daughter who had spent a full day caching with me so I was surprised when she agreed to two more finds on the way home. Not waiting for her to change her mind I headed straight towards this cache. We aimed for this one first and after spotting some Kangaroos we moved on to the cache which was spotted very quickly by my daughter much to her delight. Another in this series down and another clue collected. TFTC

30-Apr-16
Second find of the day. Wandered along from the previous GZ enjoying the peace and quiet. Once my GPS caught up I realised where I needed to head to, but the combination of wet ground and shorts made me a little worried about leeches. As I picked my way across to GZ, stopping every few meters to do a leech check, I zeroed in on the likely hiding place for Doris. She didn't seem too bothered in being disturbed and let me sign the cache. Once replaced, I made my way back to the track and encountered a Roo... bit of a standoff at first but I went one way and he went the other. Only one more in this series to find Smile
TFTC!

23-Apr-16
I had been hanging out for the weekend to do some geocaching with my GeoDaughter. We drove as far as we could up the dirt road and then continued on foot stopping to take in the view and admire the wildlife. After finding Jurassic Park my GeoDaughter was eager for the next find. We couldn't leave without doing Doris. We bush bashed our way to GZ. Doris was quickly spotted but of course the cache was left to me to retrieve as my GeoDaughter wasn't to keen on insects. I quickly signed the log and replaced the cache as the wasp near by was a little off-putting. We retreated back to the track and headed off to find the big rock. We will definitely be back to finish the rest of the Jitterbugs series tftc

29-Mar-16
Found on a cool morning with the Haines crew

29-Mar-16
Our first cache for the day and our second for this series. It's always nice to do more than on in a location so we were happy this one was here when we came out to do jurrasic park nearby. Can't imagine what the houses here are worth. What a view they get for being so close to the city. The kids were happy to meet Doris.

29-Mar-16
As it turned out this was our last cache for the day - a later requirement for the RACV stopped me here, but back to the story.

We head up and around to find Doris. I love the name Doris. I had a great aunt named that, and these names will hopefully come back again - along with Vera, Winnifred and Delores. I dont feel so strongly that I use them for my own children, but some other people can do that for me. As a favour.

We got to the point where we have to face a face full of foliage. We know that now, we accept it, we bend over and take it. Madam.

So we walk in and start to look in likely places. We get there, with time and find Doris. Resplendent in her home.

I sign with wearable stationery, and we start the trek back to the car that is in someones drive, because I cant find an official carpark. (I obviously don't look too much like a nutter, for the favour to be bestowed upon me). A large dog defends his back yard, noisily as we pass. A rabbit the other side of the fence sticks its little bunny fingers up at the dog and hops lazily away to a burrow.

I'll leave the details of the RACV call out for now - but I will say as we finally pulled back into our road, after some wrong turns that I will gloss over, I received a well deserved round of applause. I pass that on to you, with respect, dear friend.

Love your work.

Be back soon to admire more of it.

14-Mar-16
Nice. Second bug cache for us. Thanks.

11-Mar-16
We are all on this journey, and so I found this one, but no jitter bugging for me today, but will continue the journey for a short while longer.. Collected the clue but not sure if we will finish the series as the journey will take us to untold places... Tftc

17-Feb-16
Found by Mary & David at 1730. This one wasn't far from our previous find, so continued the walk. Found the novel hide after a short search. We do like finding more than one cache for one car parking spot. Our thanks to The Rusty's.

31-Jan-16
With the cars washed and the lawns mowed I took the two geokids on a short drive to this park to spot a kangaroo or two and to give the geowife a fighting chance of mopping the floors. I parked at the top of the hill and a short walk and a few kangaroos later and we had the cache in our hand. The kids liked the container, tftc

25-Jan-16
Decided to pick this one up as close to another cache, geowife spotted on way down. Now will go do rest of series

22-Jan-16
Ok ! This is the last one tonight. It's 11:15 and I need to find it quick, alas it took me a very long time. Super little cache, that was hiding from my view for a while even when I had the right bush ! Thanks Smile

11-Jan-16
Back on weekly caching adventures with Robin yang. Quick find once at gz11, which is good because it started raining. 11 January 2016 7:42 pm tftc

11-Jan-16
On a blustery Monday afternoon 4evatinks and I made some time to go caching together. Dark clouds lined the sky and foul weather was a real threat but having not cached for over a week, I was desperate for an injection of caching joy. We headed over to Lysterfield and targeted the Jitterbug series. After finding Horace earlier in the month, was keen to find his friend Doris. We drove close to GZ & parked at the top of the hill. Rabbits were in abundance as were storm clouds and after grabbing a pen and phones we headed off.

The walk in was beautiful aside from the drops of rain and we soon found ourselves at GZ. Thanks to the hint, we spotted something "introduced" and after a quick search had the cache in hand. Doris was very cute and glad to tick off my second in the series. Clue noted, all replaced as found. Lovely location & hide The Rusty's!

Coordinates changed from:
S 37° 55.880 E 145° 17.000

Coordinates changed to:
S 37° 55.876 E 145° 16.992

Distance from original: 45.2 feet or 13.8 meters.
Lots of trees down and Doris' home was destroyed so she has been moved.

07-Jan-16
Interesting that sarejuergi mentions tree-cutting, because when I found Doris yesterday she was upside down, the branch she inhabits having been been snapped by a nearby tree that has fallen right on top of hers! Somehow I neglected to visit The Rusty's two trads here when I ducked into the same entrance for a puzzle GZ a couple of months ago. No idea why, They tend to be fun. This one included, even if she is in distress somewhat. Thanks The Rusty's!

07-Jan-16
After finding Cyril we then drove up a dusty road to park nearby and try and find this cache.....WOW didn't know people lived up here...there houses and views are amazing!
Anyway we arrived within 100m to find workers cutting down some trees...right along the path where we needed to be. They asked us if we were wanting to walk down the path and hubby answers "nah we actually just want to walk to around where you are working". They said they would be about 10-15mins and then if would be fine for us to walk there. (I later said to hubby why didn't you say yes we just wanted to walk down the path as now they must REALLY think we are strange and he said he was just being honest cause that is where he wanted to walk to (that's the German in him...right to the point).....I said we might as well then tell them we are geocaching). Anyway we headed the other direction for the kids to show us a cache they had previously found with friends. 15mins later they were still working so we decided to leave and come back another day. Hope they didn't cut down any tree near Doris!

TFTC, nice little one in such a big area, love the bug with it.
