Originally placed: Oct 2015
Last found: Feb 2019
Total number of finds: 820
Total time in place with no issues: 3 years, 4 months
Aside from bringing many Aussies and international tourists to this unique place in Sydney, some of the highlights have been:
* 122 favourite points
* Winning Geocaching NSW's 'Geocache of the Month' in March 2018
Since the cache went missing in Feb 2019, I discovered quickly that it was in the hands of the BDA (Barangaroo Delivery Authority). For more than 6 months, I have been trying to negotiate the use of Barangaroo for geocaching - willing to compromise on location, size of cache, frequency of cache checks, etc.
Sadly, as of late December 2019 and after many emails and phone calls back and forth, BDA (now 'Infrastructure NSW') have disallowed this geocache, despite my permit application and thorough explanation of geocaching, as well as the detailed description of what this cache achieved, the visitors it brings to the area, and my willingness to compromise.
Their main concerns:
a) potential of any items being added or placed into the cache,
b) the risks associated with (a),
c) the reputational risks associated with (a)
They have advised that their director is willing to 'revisit' this again in June 2020, but if the current situation is anything to go by, I won't be holding my breath.
So, to the visitors, to the people I surprised by tapping them on the shoulder and asking 'have you found it yet', to the cachers who loved dropping and retrieving travelbugs, and everyone who has enjoyed this cache - Thank you! Thanks for the great log entries, the photos, the impromptu meetings, the smileys, and the memories. I've enjoyed this cache as much as you have!

I provided Barangaroo Delivery Authority (BDA) with some more info last week, as they requested. I'm now waiting on a final decision from BDA management.
Due to follow-up with Barangaroo Authority this week - fingers crossed that this cache can return in some form soon.
Getting this cache back online is still on my radar. I'll have an update available by the end of this week with more details.
Any planned updates to this cache? I'd love to find an Ammo can in the city!!
Thanks for the prompt Barney. The cache is currently not at GZ but is secured elsewhere. I'm working on some paperwork with the Barangaroo Delivery Authority and will post another update here next week. With a bit of luck, hopefully this cache will be back soon!
Unfortunately, there may be a problem with this cache. Disabling until I can investigate and confirm whether or not the cache is there.
TFTC from the Kayakviking!
18 months since my last look. Cache was disabled for a bit from memory. Today a lovely walk in the sun after theatre.
A nice big find in a busy spot.

Fantastic location, thanks for bringing us here. Took us quite a while. We left a trackable here and picked up one.
Great hints, great location, nice big cache. No muggles around at 2130, really nice walk about with my wife for our first cache of 2019
On a walk around the harbor we looked for this cache, which we found after a while.
A nice big box in the middle of the city.

Hallo lieber Cache Owner/in.
Hello dear cache owner.
Youre probably wondering why Im relogging this/s cache/event after such a long time.
Im Michaela from the -Loeffelchen- team and found the cache/event with my partner Andreas and logged it together.
Now Im setting up my own account -Frau_Löffelchen- and would be happy if you would allow this log so I dont have to start all over again. It would be a shame especially because of the beautiful country points.
Thanks for the cache and many greetings says Michaela from Oberhausen.

Nice to find such a decent sized box in the middle of town. Took me a while though. Walked around that tree for a couple of minutes. It was hot as hell. I guess my geosenses were not working properly at 40 degrees in the shade. Good place for all the "travellers". TFTC!

Very well done cache. Took awhile, but then everything came together. Muggles jogging by, not paying me any attention. Travelling with Sassy Lassy. Took TBs to explore the world. Dropped two TBs that wanted to visit this continent - show them a good time, buy them a pint, and enjoy their tales and travel exploits. Time to head back and to prepare to board our ship. Happy trails. TFTC
Travelling with Bluefirebird. This is our last morning in beautiful Sydney before we board our cruiseship. We really enjoyed our time here. TFTC MrMalkovich
It took a while until we found this one. When we got the cache a massive spider forced my wife to scream. We have to admit: This was the opposite of stealthy. 1 TB in, one out. TFTC
Great one, thank you. Very nice cammo. Took a little bit of searching, but found within a few minutes.
Very neat hide, nice size of cache, great co-ords, and good camo - well worth a fave point

Having a few days more in Sydney before heading back to Sweden again. We walk around a lot, must have walked back and forth between the hotel on Williams Street and The Rocks countless times,
Anyway, the Earthcaches and the Virtuals are the ones we prioritize now, but an odd trad or multi gets in our was as well from time to time.
We took the bus to Barangaroo, visited the oberservatory and the parks, then went back by foot. Wow, it was hot.
Found after quite some time. Right where the GPS wanted it to be. Nice with a good ol' ammo box! Left the TB's for others to discover.
Many thanks for the cache and Greetings from Sweden!

This is logged in retrospect as we are finally back home in Scandinavia from a 3 week trip to Australia, having a fair backlog of founds (and not founds) to catalogue.
We had to be a quite restrictive with the Internet usage as the roaming fees are significant, so most of the logging work has to be done in retrospect based on fragmentary paper notes and photographs. Just hoping I get it all right by now...
Anyway, the time in Australia was super! Except for staying a few days in Sydney, we hired an RV for 15 days to take us a bit up north from Sydney to Brisbane and back. Only wished we could have stayed much longer and travelled much further, but one has to earn ones living as well...

Discovering Sydney by foot we visited some caches. This one was among them. Here we had to search for a while before we could sign the log.

That'll teach me to make assumptions about cache sizes without checking details. Nice hide, great size cache and beautiful GZ. Replaced without a muggle to be seen. TFTC
Had a walk around the harbour today and found this one along the way. Dropped the Kanga Mika TB here and discovered another one.
I'm glad I only had to walk down the nearby stairs to get to this one! (see pic)

An ammo can in the city. I am very impressed. Great view and nice and quiet on a Sunday morning. TFTC
Awesome hint! Wow, an ammo can in a city park. Well done! I really enjoyed this one. Great location, great hide and a great hint. Another fave.
On my last day in Sydney and even Australia, I went for a stroll around Darling Harbour, the Barangaroo Reserve, the Rocks and eventually to the Opera before it was just too hot and I had to go for some airconditioned shopping . On my way, I also past by here. It is a really nice location with a nice view and thanks to the hint I was able to quickly locate the box. Now there is a bright yellow smile on my map here too [^]. Thanks for hiding {:)]
Erin1405 and I did a round trip from Alice Springs down South along the coast and ended up in Sydney. We had a marvellous time on this amazing continent viewing a lot of new and beautiful impressions. Of course we searched and found some caches, just like this one. Thanks a lot and many greetings from Germany.
I found this cache together with B.F.Pierce during our wonderful vacation in Australia. We drove four weeks with a camper van through this amazing country from Alice Springs to Sydney. We enjoyed the great people, wildlife and countryside so much. Thank you for the great cache! Best regards from Germany!
Found during a walk in Sydney with Ingabo & Sivun. We wrote IJS standing for the first letter in our nickname.

**This was 1 of 16 caches that was found by me on the 14th of 16 caching days here in Australia. Which also was the 51st of 75 days that my travels thru southeast Asia and Oceania would last.**
Here it took me almost 10 minutes to figuring out the hint location. And in the end it turned out that i more or less had been standing on the container . So the camouflage is still good.
*Together with Ingabo, jsson and Sivun I would spend 16 days in Australia. Our journey started in Melbourne and ended in Sydney. After that I continued to New Zealand while the others headed back towards Melbourne.*
*All in all I did manage to find 263 caches, 9 types, 3 new months and many more statistical fillers.*

Since November 5th I study Englisch at ILSC for 1 month. After the school I walked around and was searching some caches. Here I found the ammo box after a long search very close to the pathway.

Found myself in Sydney for a 4 day course out in Hurstville. Study by day, cache by night (or straight after the day's activities continuing into the night). Staying downtown and commuting back and forth along the T4, inbetween there was time for Skyping with the family back home, eating, showering and sleeping. Other than that, not much else was done.
Apologies for the generic log, specific details added as noted along the way. TNLNSL TFTC

With the help of the hint I was successful. Great place for taking some Photos. Thanks for showing me this place
Thank you for such a great cache and good tips on finding it!! I spent the sunset at the observatory and came down to find it!! I downloaded all the cache details before I left WiFi and went out exploring Sydney!

#count Traveling through Australia to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today the harbour part of Sydney was on the list. Several virtual caches were her and we visited ofcourse the famous Opera House. It was a long walk through the area, going up and down streets, visting nice parks, seeing the old original houses with many cache to lead us where to go. In parralel we noted al festiveties around the worldcup in Melbourne. Even a solved puzzle was visited.
Some caches were a fast find, some we very nasty to discover. Where good hints were available, the founds were faster.
All in all, a long but satifying geocaching tourist day in Sydney
Thanks for the good hint here [:o)] Favo

Fabulous cache. Took us ever so long to work out the hint. Then gave up on lining up items and used GPS to get to GZ. And there it was at 0 metres all along. Got there the hard way obviously. Love the container - always great to find these. Lovely area and great rocks. A favourite from us. Tftc.
Over from Perth on another business trip and with my commitments today all completed a little earlier than expected I found I had some time for a walk around Barangaroo Reserve before dark - somewhere I've wanted to visit for ages So after a quick change in the hotel I jumped in an Uber and headed over. After completing the short multi nearby I then took a lovely walk around the reserve picking up the 3 trads and the virtual on the way. This was my second stop and again I was lucky with the lack of muggles and general peacefulness here today. A few joggers to avoid but with some good timing they were no bother Great to find an ammo can anytime, especially so in a busy location! After a short wander around scoping out potential hiding spots, I was pleased to hit the jackpot in the second place I looked. Location made it easy to sit and complete signing duties too which was helpful as no need to retreat somewhere quieter and risk being seen with CIH Happy to add another favourite point to the impressive tally here - great hide. In Sydney for this weekend's X-Games and doing some of the usual sights today.
This one was missing the last time we gave it a try but today it was as expected in the first place I looked.
Always good to change a DNF to a found and always good to find this type of container.

Now, we have been in Australia for sixteen days, and this is our last day. We landed in Brisbane and have driven down to Sydney. We have walked around in two days, and the last caches was the four out here. This was a beautiful area with fantastic stones in many colors and shapes. We found the cache rather quickly, thanks to a good hint. We signed the log and replaced the cache. En stor takk til CO for cachen. Greetings from Norway.
Great to find a cache of this size in the city! Making the most of the sun before it sets. Nice spot. TFTC
Found this nice Cache together with Dino and Flintstones. Thank you for putting it out and maintaining it MrMalkovich.
Today the Family went for a harbor tour with the Tas5 visitors. Fast ferries, beautiful views, lots of sun on a nice day and a number of great caches were found in the vicinity between Circular Quay and Darling Harbor.
A foto log her as we failed to being a pen. I loved the hint and even or maybe because we were so many that searched we needed it. Someone had cacked the spot and discarded the cache as something else, so the hint brought us back to that spot and make the find.
Thank you MrMalkovich for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Took me a while - it was just well camoflaged though! Great spot for an ammo can with TBs...there were quite a few to be swapped if future cachers are interested. SL&R.

Snuck down here long after all the keen athletic joggers were sound asleep in their little beds Loved having the whole place to myself, sat and found it in the first spot I looked! Loved it! One of the best Sydney caches we have ever had the privilege of finding.
Took two TBs and hopefully can pass them onto someone that can take them to their destination.
Thanks for the wonderfully placed geocache, fits in so well here.

Found it, fantastic view. Walked past this a few times but it's always a busy area. Luckily it was quiet so we took our chance. Dropped off TB which wants to go to Germany.
Our trip around the world brought us here. Thanks for hiding and caring. Happy hunting. TFTC
Today we headed over to Moore Park and then to Darling Harbour and Barangaroo, taking advantage of the cheap Sunday $2.70 per head capped Opal Card fares, to do a new Wherigo and then walk from Central Railway Station to Darling Harbour and on to Barangaroo, collecting any unfound caches along the way. Utilised Bus/Train/Bus on the way over, and Bus/Ferry/Bus for the return journey back to home.
Stopped off at the cache as we were passing and swapped a TB. Also discovered several other TB's. Loved the one that's an old 8 inch floppy disk - I can still remember using those at work many years ago!

I had taken a tb from Europe with the goal to travel the world with me to Sydney so I had to find a cache large enough to put it into. After a long conference day I found this large cache in a beautiful spot at the water. It has taken me a little while to locate it in the dark but in the end I could add my name to the log and drop off the tb. Happy trails!
