Spending a day caching around Maidenwell on all the roads less travelled
Lots of controlled burns recently, can still smell the smokiness as we drive along the roads.
The tree has been given a fair old haircut as have others, of all the trees in the park

TFTC. Travelling through on our way to Albury/Wodonga to retrieve our Motorhome. Stopping every so often for a break and to find a cache. Hoping to come back this way in a few days to better explore .
Tftc, day out from Kingaroy to collect a few smilies.
Nice weather, not to hot. Plenty of long grass.

Staying at the Bunya Mountains, but as it was raining this morning up there, we ventured out on a little road trip north and west for the day.
Kumbia was our first stop. We traversed the bright green grass to the likely hiding spot for the cache & soon retrieved it from its hideout.

I found this but it was almost impossible to retrieve. Miraculously, I fluked it, but it might pay to be aware that this container could disappear entirely.

# 2376 - Another find during a monthly trip with the motorhome.
We stopped overnight at the Apex park in this lovely little town and went for a walk the next day. Always great when you have a reason for a walk.
Hubby found this one. Sometimes I am just cache blind!

It was lunch time so we parked under some shady trees, right on top of an ants nest - very large ants - guess who got bitten? Me of course - I am an ant magnate. Anyway wandered over to the cache site and Significant Other made the discovery. Are we a team or what????
Log signed and cache carefully replaced. Back to the car for our picnic lunch. TFTC

Another cache that had room for us to park the caravan, a short walk later and we had the cache
Found and had a pair of sulphur crested cockys watching and making a huge racket...
Travelling thru to Wondai and picking up caches where possible to pull up with a caravan. All good with this one. Thanks Fisher Clan. Find # 1078

My husband and I decided to come up here from Brisbane and stay at the accomadation centre nearby in possum lodge. It's the first weekend allowed after lockdown during covid19. Today we went to kingaroy after our morning 10km Bush walk. It was great to find some caches along the way. Great hint and nice little town. Thanks for placing this cache here for us to enjoy .
It was time to move along the road again with the caravan in tow. This cache was found with ilook4geo and both names were added to the log. All was then put back as found to await the next finder. A nice quick and easy find is good while travelling. Many thanks go to Fisher Clan for putting this cache into play.
Our travels took us further west today, along with goingplaces2. Picked up a selection of caches, signed each log and replaced as found. TFTC.
Grabbing a few strays while out this way while MrGravel has some extra time. Will return in a couple of days for the dirt roads when we have another respite day
This one was a clever hide and no wasps in sight

We are on an eight day trip to Hervey Bay. We saw the most amazing wild creatures close up at Hervey Bay. Whales are ugly but still so wonderful. We also saw some beautiful countryside, although everywhere is in dire need of rain. Thanks for your cache which helped us take a break from driving and have fun at the same time.
We had time for a little caching as we travelled from Bathurst to Hervey Bay and back to see the whales. We thoroughly enjoyed both and are grateful for the caches which helped make the trip more enjoyable.
Found by Mary and David at 1120. We really have to do some research when we get home to find out more about his exploration. We stayed in the Burke and Wills motel in Kingaroy last night, and dined at the Explorers Restaurant. Our thanks to Fisher Clan.
Found the tree I think it's in, but lots of wasps there, so I'll try another time
Quaint little town its growth obviously suffering due to its proximity to Kingaroy. Easy little park and grab. TFTC
While camping in the Nanango area with my geodog Scruffy, we just had to get out & about finding some caches in the surrounding areas.
The hint said - 'bark' - so I tried to get Scruff to .. but she just looked at me ,
In the end I decided to find the cache the usual way ..
All Good .. TFTC ..

Day two of our “Raising Hell in Maidenwell” false start cache run…
Our “Raising Hell in Maidenwell” cache run, it was supposed to be a car show but incorrect info on the website had Scooby Doo (Subaru Outback) and the Mystery Machine (Caravan & Mobile Geo HQ), stacked, loaded and ready to go on the wrong weekend. With Mr RF hanging for a day off and a trip anywhere, we decided to change the weekend into a cache run with a visit to the Maidenwell Hotel Saturday night for the monthly “Pig on a Spit”. Basing the Mystery Machine (Van) in the pubs free camping area Friday afternoon for a Sunday departure we headed off to do some caches.
Back on track after getting the run around by the GPS selecting let’s say an interesting way to get to the previous cache.
As this one had had a couple of DNFs I read the logs and seemed to come to a common theme… BEE ware. We probably violated some local by-law and drove pretty close to the GX from the sports ground side. Deciding the other inhabitants of the tree were Aussie natives and not known to be aggressive, I retrieved the cache and signed the log.
We took nothing but memories; we left nothing but footprints and our tag.
The hide is excellent, the container is in good nick and the log is in good condition and ready for the next finder.
Thanks for the cache Fisher Clan.
Cheers

My GPS directed me to a tree but, once I saw the wasp nest in the tree, I was out of there!
Out and about with Ranibaskale finding a few caches and enjoying the scenery. Stopped to find this sneaky hide, and signed the log. Thanks for the cache, Fisher Clan.
Geo-Mamma was all over this one! LOL ...

Passing through on route to Kingaroy. Remembered there were caches nearby and opened the app in time to turn down the street. Nice quick find. Good to get out of the car and stretch. T4tc
Spend 2 months working in kumbia before, after being away for a month I am back and finally went out to find this one! Quick find.
In the company of troobloo, travelling back to VIC with our vans, we were getting very tired and irritable due to the heat (37°) and storms were threatening to break loose.
We decided to stretch the legs and find a cache and this one happened to be the lucky fellow that we visited
I didn't know where I put my GPS so we toddled off using the phone. I personally hate phone caching but I gave it a go. The compass was going haywire...this way....that way...even that way....back that way...and it went on. We tuned in to our geo-senses and made our way to a spot that we thought looked pretty good. We circled the tree a few times and noticed a beehive and they were starting to exit their homes....they didn't want us there at all. Anyway we found the cache, did our duties and headed back to the car, thanks for the fun Fisher Clan!

Lovely area. We're taking advantage of overnight stopover provided for travellers. Nice easy find once near GZ. TFTC
Again good co ords led to us finding this cache. Noticed the neighbours were keeping an eye on us!!!
Chinchilla - Kumbia
After setting up camp at the rest area we headed out into the country roads looking for the caches.
We spent an afternoon tiki touring the area. Most were easily found, good hints given

We decided to head off for a couple of days in the caravan and do some caching while our non geocaching friends were red clawing on the Bjelke Peterson Dam. We loved the rural countryside we encountered and while we were on our rounds we did maintenance as we went given that we were there at gz and sometimes it is not so easy for the owner to attend. Thanks to Fisher Clan for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the location.
Found at 1608. Found while on a geocaching expedition in my favourite region for a couple of days. A quick Drive by. TFTC.

Up in the Kingaroy and Nanango area for the Nanango Event. After the Event on the Saturday, spent 3 days chasing caches around the countryside and also in the towns. Seeing the different type of caches the CO's puts out in different locations that you would not do if you did not geocache. Thank you CO for bringing us to these spots. TFTC
Our GPS thought there was a road down through this straight row of trees. Nup - it doesn't exist. Must be just gazetted. We therefore found we walked in to GZ the longer way, but hey, it's good exercise isn't it. Found the cache safe and well and gratefully signed the logbook. Cheers Fisher Clan! [^][^]
Had an enjoyable weekend including attending Nanango's first Ever Event and searching for lots of caches. Saw wonderful scenery as well as wildlife on our travels through the back roads of the South Burnett. Thank you to all the COs who place the caches in these fascinating spots.
It was getting late by the time we arrived in Kumbia - we had planned on being here somewhere around 2.00pm, but a number of DNFs on today's run has us running way behind time.
Fortunately, there was no one around today, so this was a muggle-free hunt in a pleasant country town park.
Found at 5:00pm on 3rd December 2015. TFTC.

Found at 10.41hrs. On a shopping trip from the Bunyas to Kingaroy. Time to get some of these caches we keep passing every time we go the Bunyas. Never knew this park was here. Always just drive straight through Kumbia. Removed some lollies that were in the cache.
Nice and easy find.
