Was an awesome day to get out of the house, kids were very excited about our first find. Thanks heaps
Cool, il come back with a pen to date my finding and a something for the next finder
I think it’s been taken. You can see where it was sitting but it has been taken.
Dnf on my 6 weeks long holiday.
I was searching all the stumps, trees, bushes, grass here for about 15 minutes and then, feeling frustrated from wasted time, I just decided to leave this location and keep geogoing .

The co-ordinates on my phone were a little off on this one, but Kimbathelion soon had it in hand
Walked across a a huge tree trunk bridge to get on the right side. Wrong stumps initially but then found the cache. Tftc
Tftc great day down from the far north found the travel bug (VRZE2V) which I will relocate on the way home
A stroll from the camping area by the bowling club. Cache was a quick find. Thanks.
In Kawerau supporting a friend who was competing in the 102km Ultra event. Out for a quick walk, after the start, to find some caches before heading back into Rotorua. Found both the original & the temporary and have added them together. TFTC
Well we found its hidy hole but it remaind elusive as someone had removed it temporoarily. Not fair!! We left our calling card to proved we have been here. Cheers .
Day 17 - Sunday 3 January 2021 - Opotiki - Kawarau - Rotorua today. Catching up with The Seagnoids Mum later today. With the heavy rains today the road to Taneatua was flooded so had to go via Whakatane to Kawarau.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

After stopping her for the virtual, alas no time to do much more, we hopped over here. Some rotten sod had walked off with this cache (see the log before ours). But we found where it was hidden so left a very temporary replacement cache. Hope it was returned! Might pay for a CO check, as the last logger has not logged that it was returned.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

Quite an easy find, logged my name and took it home, I had no pen so that’s why, it will be there by January 2nd or 1st. Thank you Murray N Janet
Started off on the wrong side but back tracked walked across the log and soon found the cache. Another lovely little park. TFTC
Find number 7085. While wandering around trying to gather information for the nearby virtual i noticed this one. I gingerly crossed the bridge as it was wet and slippery. Cache found out in the open So I tucked it away under cover. Thank you for the placement.
Nice easy find!
LOVED crossing the log to get over the stream
Celebrated my 60th cache!

It took a while to find. I enjoyed crossing the log bridge. I am on a North Island Figure of Eight your. For the first 4 days I spend time in the Bay of Plenty with my husband JDScout. We are basing ourselves in Rotorua during this time.
Thanks Murray'n'Janet for creating this hide. It was find 8913 for me.

This one took me a while as my gps must have been out. I found using the hint but 8 meters away in the other bushes. TFTC
As our plan change again for today We decided to head to Whakatane Thanks to CO for a great day
Nice wee hide

Came to get this one after completing the requirements of the nearby virtual. This was a bit easier than that and in such a lovely location too. Logs told us where we need to be and we followed that advice. Looked slghtly off the gps coordinates to start with but once the geosenses kicked in Mrs Tulei was right on where to look and got it. Thanks for the cache, all is find here.
Was sent to Kawerau today for work. Have never been here before, so after I'd finished the job, I forfeited my lunch break to find a few caches.
Crossed the cool natural bridge and made quick work of the find after expanding my search from GZ.
It's a nice area.
Thanks for bringing me here.

Out and about grabbing a few caches while visiting the area, great spot for a dog walk, no problem with the find TFTC.
I'd had an itch to head this way for a while now so I contacted my mid week caching partner Mc Jandals and proposed a nice little clean up of the area. We had quite the adventure today caching from dawn till dusk finding some really neat caches in some beautiful areas. I managed to walk away with 23 caches with the highlights being the Tarawera Falls and our checky virtual FTF.
This cache proved to be a little tricky as the GPS was bouncing around but I got there in the end. Cache was found in good condition thanks to a logical placement and a straight forward hint. The bridge over the stream was pretty neat too. In the end - a really good day with really good company. Cheers Murray'n'Janet - appreciate your work

2nd attempt and had to read back a few logs. Daughter found this one. Great hide thank you
Coordinates changed from:
S 38° 5.270 E 176° 41.905
Coordinates changed to:
S 38° 5.268 E 176° 41.905
Distance from original: 12.0 feet or 3.7 meters.
Rechecked this after a cacher reported it was way out. Checked it out and it was few meters out so have updated the coordinates.

This one has been bugging me for a while as we couldn't find this last time we were here. We searched systematically around gz with no luck. Searched further afield and still no luck. Went over the same old hoping for magic, but no. Then I read an old log about distance from the water so expanded even further and then yes, there it was!!! Whew thanks goodness. Thanks for the cache Murray'n'Janet.
It took ages and a couple of attempts to find this ...no wonder the co ords are way out...at least 18 meters..finally got it by using clue and process of "stump" elimination as there are plenty of them lol thanks Murray and Janet for the cache
Easy find once the right stump was found. Log in good condition. Lots of bubbling from nearby stream.
In Kawerau with the motorhome, great place to stay! Enjoyed the hot pools yesterday. Finding a few caches before we head off.
Took us a few minutes to find and locate the right stump lol but it’s there paper needs to be replaced though as it was wet. Thanks for the cache!
After crossing the interesting bridge from Glasgow St, we searched several hint items in the vicinity of the coordinates, but without success. We found only one spot big enough for a small cache, but it was empty.
Got to GZ fairly easily... and loved seeing all the geothermal activity in the river. Used the hint and spotted several areas where you could hide a cache before finding it. What a neat place to bring us. Next time I will have to bring my togs. Meet a lovely local lady walking her dog and she told us heaps about the area too. TFTC
We left home Friday night headed to Wanganui to visit our daughter then Saturday morning headed to wards Rotorua and grabbing a cache or two along the way. Today we got up early and decided on the route we were going to take starting at 8.05am, no sleep in for me today. Found the cache signed the log and placed it back exactly where we found it. such a nice area to visit thank you for placing a cache here made us visit the area and enjoy the sits and the stunning scenory. TFTC now onto find the next cache a few muggles around today lovely spot
What a bizarre place! From the smell and the almost post-apocalyptic landscape, you'd imagine you were still in Rotorua. A reminder of how geologically unstable this region is. TFTC .
Heading home from Whakatane and some R&R with the family. ...stopping for a few caches enroute.
Spent the night here in a friends campervan. ...great little spot and really nice hot pools. ..which are free to boot...
