Find #2114
We ducked out this morning before the rest of the family were active, and cached around the Wentworth Falls area. We finished our list then 'ad libbed' it back to Leura via Lawson finding some other cool spots in the process. A nice little haul of 15 finds and 2 trigs before lunch....
Spotted quickly, the cache was on the ground, presumably next to its hide.... Restashed in the SPOR.... TFTC blissbaby

Found on way back to Sydney after spending a couple of nights in the blue mountains
Easy find on a cloudy day while getting some exercise. Cache in good order. Loved seeing Darwin's tree. TFTC
Finally undid my dnf. I was still looking in the wrong spot again different from last time until my other half spotted it twenty metres back. TFTC.
A quick find for frazeydaze after walking up from the Performance cache. TFTC Blissbaby.
Looked all over. With geo dogs and geofriend but ran out of time and the gps kept telling us porkies.
Quick stop as we're making our way back home and grabbing some caches along the way. TFTC
Found but needs maintenance. Found the geocache but there was no lid and the log book was a few metres away.. no wonder it took a while to find! TFTC
Found it after a big hunt. GPS a little off. Original one may have gone missing??
Hi there blissbaby.
We found your cache **"Darwin's Tree"** at 10:30:55 PM today. (This makes our find count 17662).
Today blissbaby was our chauffeur - she's a great guide. Her local knowledge is absolutely fantastic, and it is certainly great to be a passenger because, we see a lot more when we aren't driving. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area. The places she took us were fantastic and the views along the ridge line were absolutely spectacular. We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes hidden along the way. Today we found 16 caches (& DNF'd 2). Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
We discovered that this cache actually wasn't in our GPS, and the iPhone had us serching around the wrong tree.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Seems like the dogs love this park. After a tough Wentworth falls walk found cache. TFTC.
Sword guys...lol. Saw them bowing to each other just as we got here and thought it was a cult until we saw the sticks and realised it was some kind of sword club.
C found the cache again. She's on a roll.
Was not near the half bridge closer to field.

It's a beautiful sunny Winter's morning. On a weekend away with friends, and discovered there are 5 very convenient caches close by. This is number 3 and I love the history associated with this one.
(Don't use my photo as a location finder, I moved it for seclusion during signing)
Thanks

On a drive into the mountains stopped here for a break. Second of three finds taking a stroll around the park. tftc
this one eluded me for a bit until I checked using my backup GPSr (mobile phone) and found coordinates had been changed. Simple find after that.

I came up to the mountains by train today for the Winter Caching in the Bluies event. On the way to the park I grabbed a few caches along the way.
Well it wasn't really along the way but not too far away and a good chance to give the new GPS a run.
As I approached GZ a muggle approached walking his dog. I thought I'd just stand and wait till he passed then I him looking at a device and looking around. Turns out he was checking out a few caches while his kids played soccer on the adjacent oval.
I spotted the cache easily, signed the log, visited some TBs and replaced everything then headed off for another cache in this park.

After attending the Winter Caching in the Bluies event at the lake we decided to pick up a few caches in the area before heading on home again. These caches in the park were close enough and easy to get to, so we had them in our sights.
As we parked we noticed a group of people training in swordsmanship in the park. They were using the traditional katana and bokken (wooden version) swords. We watched the briefly before heading on towards GZ, following the compass on the GPSr.
It's interesting seeing where Darwin had been, and coming upon places where this famous man also spent a bit of time. I've also been to a spot in Cape Town, South Africa, where he walked. He certainly got around the world, albeit a lot slower than one can do it these days with modern transport.
How sad that there are no above-ground remains of the inn that once stood here. Alas, the New World and Colonies have not been that good about preserving their heritage as has been the case in Europe, where one can see buildings that are a thousand years old and that are still in good condition (people even live in them).
It didn't take long to spot the container -- nice and large one, too. I got my little son to retrieve it for us. I left my signature small wire dog, signed the log and then asked him to return the bucket to its hiding place. Then onward to the next one on the other side of the field.

#3965 (3 of 5 today)
Up in the Blue Mountains to try to complete a First2Find on a long multi started a few days ago. With that out of the way decision was made to grab another multi with a high-ish D/T rating, then finish off with some Park & Grabs.
We went for 6 and found 5 before heading home.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
We looked at the info sign before heading to GZ. The iPhone was pointing to one spot but *JordsAU** found it in another likely area a short distance away.
We completed signing duties and replaced.
The kids at the athletics carnival are pretty much all gone now, so we headed for our next target.

The co-ords placed me in the middle of a patch of open ground, and I couldn't see anywhere to hide a cache here. Had a bit of a search around the area until I got saturated from walking around in the wet grass and gave up. Interesting place though.
Coordinates changed from:

Coordinates changed to:

Distance from original: 75.3 feet or 23.0 meters.
came to do some maintenance on my nearby caches and realised this needed shifting too.

It was lying around in amongst some wood that people were using to build a bridge may need to be relocated
Came to the mountains to help my mother in law with some hedge trimming and gardening. Parked and walked towards GZ. There had been some rain and the grass was wet as I stepped through knee high weeds and grass. Got to GZ, found a kid hangout and then found the cache. SL and replaced. TFTC.
Headed up to the Blue Mountains today on a maintenance visit to our aircraft Route Surveillance Radar installation at Mount Boyce (near Blackheath). Left home nice & early (at 5:25 am) to beat the Sydney peak hour traffic madness, and also to allow for plenty of caching time along the way. This was the 20th of 26 finds ( plus 2 DNF’s) for the day.
Parked the geomobile in the car parking area off Matcham Avenue, and then headed across Pitt Park to GZ. Quickly spotted the generously sized cache container, TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC blissbaby.

Final of the day after beautiful walks in the Blue Mountains TFTC from Switzerland
This was the second cache we found after the wonderful walk on the National Pass. Really nice place. Thanks for the hide and best regards from Switzerland.
7/10/16. 9:08 AM. Cache #4280.
4th of 6 finds (& 1 DNF) this morning in Wentworth Falls.
After finding "Performance", I returned to the car to proceed to my next cache, then realised this one was in walking distance, so back out of the car and across the corner of the oval to the info signs. An interesting read.
Followed the fence line to GZ and then made an easy find. Signed log, replaced as found and then continued on foot to "Dogs Unleashed". TFTC.

After a cold but relaxing stay in Leura for the weekend, it was now time to pack up and head home to sunny Western Sydney.
We really liked the history.
This is some of the surprises that Geocaching can bring you too.

Having finished the nearby Performance, the team and I proceeded north, and after a quick hop and a walk found the GZ, and the cache quickly after. Took a swappable of some acoustic quality out and put in four or five swappable a of (hopefully) equal value. The log was signed, and the cache re-hid. Quite a lovely cache, and well-placed for us to enjoy the significance of the nearby tree. Thanks for bringing us here!
