Spending a few days in Geelong I decided that today I would target the Fun For Kids Trail especially as I need some more Regular size caches to complete a challenge. It was a beautiful day after a somewhat chilly start and the road was clear of traffic except for about four deadly treadlies riding past. Then a bit later on a few cars sped through. It appeared that these may have been on a rally. A successful day finding a variety of caches in a variety of hides.
As I continued my walk along the dirt road nearing GZ, I could see an oncoming motorcyclist muggle approaching in the distance. As we got closer to each other, he slowed down and asked me if I was alright. After a quick and friendly chat, and assuring him I was fine, we both continued on our separate ways, him on his bike and me continuing my walk. However, it then dawned on me that I had forgotten just how close I was to GZ when he stopped for a chat. I checked my GPS which showed I had overshot GZ by about 100m. I quickly backtracked and darted off the road towards GZ. Once at GZ, the cache was quickly located and the log was signed. TFTC
FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Out hunting the Fun for Kids series today with Team_Roberts1. Quick find on this one, thanks to suehut for this one
This was our series to get today, out with deanside who kindly offered her 4wd to take us on the tracks.Had a great day but didn't get them all, due to not just sticking to the series but stopping for others nearby. Thanks fir a great series.
A great day caching in the company of ConnieandRick. Lots of laughs, great caches, most easy to findThanks suehut for bringing me here and contributing to this great game for others to enjoy. Happy trails, Deanside
Having skipped the multi due to low signal in the area, I moved onto number 5 which was also easy to findthanks for the cachePika
No kids in my caching team, it's just me, however I had a great time in the area today grabbing about 20 in the series, with one DNF. I enjoyed all the different containers for each cache, along with the fun multis and puzzles. All up, a good hour or so driving through the forest.
Thanks for the series suehut and deshut.....a lot of work has obviously gone into them. All caches that were found, were without any issues and are in good condition.

We are enjoying being out in the forest today and finding these caches. Thanks for the cache.

Out for a lovely sunny day on the long weekend to try this trail with the geo-kids.
We live close but have never been here so decided we would give it a shot.
Nice easy find and lots of swaps for the kids. TFTC.

Hoping to get some caching done today I came here with my geodaughter. All was good until we were nearing GZ and then the flies appeared. They are relentless! The cache is in good condition and are the log and contents. I was so put off by the buzzing sound of the flies that I dated the log as 26 July 2023… oops! I can assure you that I can’t time travel into the future. TFTC
Haven’t been at this side of Bacchus Marsh before I think I’ll be coming back again
Heading down to Torquay with Bogonghazy. Nice hide. Thanks for placing the geocache
Very fast find, could see from the car, so we covered it over a little better. Tftc
We decided on a trip to the Brisbane Ranges to take some time to be in the bush and go searching for some caches. The weather was started off being a bit windy and quite sunny. We stopped during this series twice to have lunch the first time and a cup of tea the second time. Each time the weather was lovely when we stopped, and it started raining as we were packing up. We had hoped to find the whole Fun for Kids series today, but we ran out of daylight. We will be back sometime soon to fill in the gaps. All cache we found was in excellent condition, and this would be a fantastic series to do with children. Thank you, suehut and deshut, for this excellent series.
Decided it was time to hit up Brisbane Rangers for a look/cache. Teamed up with Memorychip and spent the night camping like we used to do when we lived in Kununurra. We wished the weather was the same as Kununurra because it was bloody freezing. To make it worse we were riding so the feeling in our fingers was minimal ( should of brought gloves). The scenery and wildlife in this area is a must see. Thanks for all the effort in planting these caches
A nice easy one here, unfortunately the grass trees have really copped it tho. Many just falling apart.
With The ring of Swiss cheese coming down we could now catch up with our Metro Mates, so once again I teamed up with Omegaman1971 and headed to the Geelong area to do some of the many labs and several caches in the area. We had a great time exploring the area. Today We started in Geelong but got a little frustrated with suburban caching so we headed to the Brisbane Ranges to do the Fun for kids trail.
This was one of the caches we found today.
Thanks suehut for the cache.

Really enjoyed this series, great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Was a shame that some of the logs were water damaged and a few offline.

The vegetation around here is so spectacular! I've been taking a lot of photos, with the intention of sitting down and identifying them in the coming weeks! I've seen some beautiful flowers, interesting peas, and plenty of magnificent trees! Thanks!
I came out to the Brisbane Ranges for a number of reasons today. I wanted to find 18 caches to get to my 1000 find (this is my 7th today), to see some beautiful vegetation, to get out of the house and suburbs in this uncertain time of COVID-19, and to find some larger and interesting caches! I'd been looking at this series for ages, and it ticked all my boxes. After a reshuffle in the morning due to my car being unsuitable for the southern end, I'm working my way down. Thanks for an incredible series suehut and deshut, a truly excellent idea!

Continuing the series of caches that Master 8 and Miss 6 were dead keen on doing themselves. A fairly easy find, GZ quite obvious from a distance. TFTC.
Spent a glorious day out in the Ranges collecting the caches in this series plus a few extras, most were found fairly quickly whilst others took a little longer , my GPSr had me looking 7 - 10m from where I actually located most of them.

Had a great time with the kids driving through the Brisbane Ranges finding caches as we went.
Plenty of fun hides and lots of swag was traded.
My word there are a lot of pokemon hiding in these caches.

Easy find. I made suggestions of where to look by calling out and half muggle mum found it for me to sign.
Out and about with annabella02, hunting gems , good long day that finished in the dark , many tftc's
Day caching with sassieold55 to collect a few gems, we had a good day, we had a couple of DNFs and missed the multis as we started the series late and finished in the dark with torches and for the two and a half drive home Thanks for the series suehut and deshut
Found it, thank you for this great series, lots to see along the way and very peaceful. Thanks for hiding this series.
Fun for kids and adults alike! A good trail with some clever caches, lots of interest to keep us going and some good scenery along the way. TFTC
Made my way back through the area on a Sunday afternoon to keep clearing out a few more of this series I didn’t get the first time. A sunny afternoon drive, audio book and the geowhippet Reggie for company. Couldn’t have asked for a better study break in what is fast becoming one of my favourite places. Thanks for this series!
The day has warmed up and there is a nice breeze thru the trees each time we get out of the car. We really enjoyed exploring the Brisbane Ranges and appreciate the effort and variety of your caches.
Found with Beaker on our way home from a night away in Melbourne for a rock concert. Thanks
Quick find today with FerociousFlea whilst in the area after seeing a concert in Melbourne last night. Nice and easy...loved this series. What a fantastic idea!!

Made a start on this series just to finish the day after caching through Gordon, The Bungal Forest, Ballan and then the Legends Series. 42 caches for the day and the first 10 found this series here.
I haven't been to the Brisbane Ranges in over 25 years when i used to bushwalk for native orchids, of which i found many in this area.
Apologies for the generic log as these caches, although easy to find, were no less interesting with a great variety of hiding styles and the big cache sizes were very welcome. No wonder the kids enjoy them, i certainly did and I'll be back for more.
Thx to deshut and suehut for the great caches here.

My sixth day of a 9 day caching road trip holiday.
Today I had set out to finish what I had intended to do yesterday before I ran out of energy (and comfort levels due to my wet shoes) and find my 11,000th cache. I had the specific one chosen, and coincidently there were many caching trails on the way.
In the end I managed to find 72 today.
Thanks for the caches.

A caching day out with +Wife and our Geomutts, EveTheStaffy and MaxTheCollie.
Returning to this series for the first time since July.
We came in on the wrong track and passed a walker then we spotted an eastern grey kangaroo. We came to the end of the road with a big number "10" up in a tree and "Private Property signs.
Heading back out we found the correct turnoff and began caching.
This was our first find along here today.
Thanks for the series of neat caches suehut and deshut.
It's a shame our "kids" are all grown up but we had fun all the same.

Out for a drive in the Brisbane Ranges, we followed the trail from Bacchus Marsh to find some large caches towards a challenge. It started off being easy, but as we progressed the road became tricky, still we persevered.
Slightly different smaller cache. Thanks deshut and suehut.

Yesterday we decided to go geocaching and after having this series on our list for a while we pack geokid and geotoddler into the car with a picnic and headed off and boy was it fun. We didn't get to finish it because the grand final was on and geodad and the boys were complaining it was getting too cold but we at least ticked off some of it.

Out for the day with my brother Snap Happy, cleaning up fun for kids series, that has been on the radar for some time. We also managed to grab a few extra caches along the way. We discovered many great and clever hides and had no DNF's amongst the finds. Some interesting scenery, in an area I don't normally travel. We didn't have any kids with us today but we still had a very successful day, with some laughs and good company.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.
Thanks suehut for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Went to Ascot today ( no, not the one in Britain) and on the way home decided to fix this one. Log was damp and so was the kids log, so 2 new logs in a baggy, otherwise this cache is fine and ready to be found.

11:38, August 5, 2018, #862, out with AliFS and OzHockeyChick doing a few in this area. Nice quick find, the container was wet inside and so was the log book but we found a dryer spot and signed it. Thanks suehut and deshut. TFTC.

I've noticed this cache is carrying a maintenance log which really does need to be addressed by the cache owner.
The guidelines indicated that regular visits to check on the cache, as well as prompt attention to any logs that indicate there is a problem, are part of the [**cache owners responsibilities.**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#listingmaintenance) If you can't attend to the issue promptly, then you need to [**Disable it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235) - I have Disabled it for you this time.
**Can you please respond to this situation (or indicated your intention) by 20th July,** so others know exactly what is happening with this cache?
You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:
- Repair and/or Replace your cache or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.
- If you don't plan on fixing it up then please [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
- If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (by 20th July). Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, it is likely that I will need to Archive it on the basis that it has been abandoned. Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the instructions posted above.

Dippa46 and I spent a most enjoyable day converting green to yellow on the map and having fun completing the various requirements for each cache. Log was very wet......TFTC
Went out for a days search to see what we, MazzyMay and me, could find. We managed to find this one. TFTC.
What a wonderful day to go geocaching - sun shining and good company with Bunadoorian. Back to try and find more of the Legends series and then to start the Kids for fun series. TFTC suehut and deshut. 9 of 30 today. So glad I had gone shopping for some swag and books for this series!
Tftc cache is set and so is log. I'm busy trying to get the prickles off me from the last cache lol
Despite having no kids with us, we had a great morning finding these fabulous caches along the track. Such a pretty place , and a simply superb series for the geokids! TFTC

Today I headed West to attend, Come & Visit Parkville Nov 2018 - Wyndam Vale with biggles1024 but once that was over we then headed out to the Brisbane rangers to tackle a couple of different series, fun for kids was first followed by the Legends! series.
We started from the south and counted down to number 1 as we headed along this at times very rough and other time very good road.
At times the coordinates were very good and other times for us they were out a bit but in the end we were able to find them all and this series was completed.

**Find #3049**
**Traditional Cache Find #2099**
An early start was needed to head across the city to attend the "Come & Visit Parkville Nov 2018 - Wyndam Vale" event with SteMicMitSar and also find a number of caches in the area.
This looked like a fun series and with a number of Large containers to be found, was too tempting to pass up. We moved from the last to the first. Most were quick finds, but some needed cacher sense rather than our GPS's as the co-ords were at times up to 11m out for us today. The area was very quiet and only a small number of vehicles and people were encountered during the day.
