Was not planned and did not have any maintenance goods with me, but seeing as I was passing by the area I called in tonight, to see what is needed to fix this one up.
Dried out log book as best I could (by the exhaust of the ute).

next time pass (looking like mid September) I'll drop off a whole new container, log and swag.

Will leave active for the time being. Unless I get another "Soggy logbook" log

TFTC. We had an appointment in Avoca today so we decided to do a cache run in the nearby Percydale Goldmining Area. Coming of the bitumen onto the gravel we had a great time traversing the tracks. This was the first of nine for the day. Great bit of history and the Kerosene shed was a highlight. The cache was easily found. The logbook is a bit damp.

We're out for a Sunday drive, a picnic and a few geocaches. This is a truly impressive remnant of our history. Thanks

Suscoe was heading north west today to find some caches that we had been watching for a while.
It was a pleasant day with some cloud, a good bit of sun and lots of terrific caches.
The countryside was looking great, things are starting to dry out up this way.
Thanks to Rustymac75 for this hide, a quick find here and no prickles to worry about.
What a beaut old place across the road.

After the previous dnf we were pleased to quickly find this one, and there was just enough light left to look at the cottage from over the fence. And to wonder what the rooms were. Then, back at our accommodation we saw the story about the cottage and so the history tour was completed pleasingly. Thanks for all your efforts to take us through this area by putting the caches in such good places.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.

Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.

Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

Thanks Rustymac75 for placing this cache.

What a beautiful old building. My muggle prospecting husband has been up around this area and knew this building was here but I was unaware of it existence. Had a short look for cache whilst trying not to get prickled. Soon had cache spotted. It again had some water in it but log book was dry enough to log cache. Added fav point. TFTC.

Heading home from St. Arnaud on this freezing blustery day. After helping the CFA winch a tree off the highway , we decided to head into the Percydale area and clean up the caches while learning about the history of the mining here.
We found this cache after a few gorse prickles got us and added our name to the log book.
Thanks Rustymac75 for sharing some more history with us.

Find No. 1388. Found at 5.30pm

A trip to Percydale after work in the geoute with geodog Penny on board and FUF009 came along for the drive. Our aim was to do the earthcache then we grabbed a few along the way as we were heading home.

From the last cache 'Pretty Pines' Mr Tyred n Cranky decided to walk Penny up the road to locate this one. I had to drive the ute. Found it but a very prickly find.

Cache needs some attention as contents were badly waterlogged.

Out and about with Glanville Girls, Wozzle68 & ChooknChunk for a day of caching in the area.

After a stop for lunch in Avoca we continued our find tally with this one, we were about to give up hope when Glanville Girls spotted the well concealed container

A plan was hatch today to meet up with chooknchunk, ST37E and Wozzle68 to tackle some of the caches in and around the Avoca region. What a fantastic day we had!
This was our first hide after lunch and we almost DNFed this one, until a last sweep of the area revealed the hide. Loved the cottage. Thanks Rustymac75

14-May-16
Enjoyed a fabulous day today under clear autumn skies in the beautiful Avoca Hills and Percydale area, in the company of Wozzle68, ST37E and the Glanville Girls.

After 4WDing in the hills, we stopped for lunch at the pie shop (of course), and then headed out to explore Percydale. We had picked up a brochure about this historic area a long time ago and have been keen to visit it ever since. It is not common to see original structures like this, so it is good that this cottage has heritage listing and will be preserved.

The cache hunt took a while and we were in the process of calling it, when Glanville Girls spotted something. We are sure we had looked there before! TFTC and for bringing us here Rustymac75

TFTC. Out of a road trip to Avoca, another smile gained on a great day. This is a great old piece of history and surely something we would not have found without this hobby and your effects in placing this cache. Thanks again Rustymac75

In Avoca today with the geokids (aged 4 & 6) and hubby for a family birthday. Arriving a little earlier (on purpose by me) allowed for a few quick caches. Amazing what you find along old country roads. Would be cool to see more places the local historical society suggest (or are on their trail). Thanks for the cache and new experiences Smile

Find # 2561 @ 1212 H

Time for a solo road trip, well a short one this time. Decided to head off to the Pyrenees Ranges to grab the 2WD friendly caches and check out the camping grounds.

such an interesting structure and history to boot, for not for geocaching I would not have had the chance to admire.

Have missed logging quite a few caches, trying to catch up.
Regards The Coffee's.

18-Oct-15
Found by Mary & David, in company with The Coffees and Team Crackers, at 1415. We came via Higgins Lane and enjoyed the old track, Hard to imagine the running water that would cause such erosion. Think we have driven by here before, but so good to have an excuse to return. Mrs Daley must have been happy to move in here. A favourite from us. Our thanks to Rustymac75.

18-Oct-15
After a very enjoyable day yesterday of caches and events we again teamed up with maccamob and Mrs Coffee to find a few more caches before we went our separate ways on the way home.
We check the time and realised that we all could still find a few more caches before we had to be home so the decision was made to head for Avoca and the new caches there.
What a lovely old cottage this, the roses were in full bloom making for a very good photo opportunity.
The girls checked out the cottage whilst David negotiated the natural barrier to find the cache.
Many Thanks for the cacheRustymac75.

You wouldn't want to be tall, would you?

This is the sort of place that would suit someone with short, stumpy Scottish legs, like me.

An amazing location with some incredible old style construction techniques.

I think next time I might give the phone number on the gate a ring and see if I can get a tour, it looks great.

I spent a fair bit of time observing this place from the road before I realised that I was here to find a cache.

The cache's location really took my back to my childhood as we used to make defensive forts out of this material that surrounds GZ and then try to push each other into the said walls.

I saw these pop up yesterday but I was out of town until late. After dropping the kids off at school, I checked to see they were still un-found online so I loaded up the GPS and headed out.
A great little area and historic cottage. Yay! A blank log! Thanks for bring me to this beaut spot Rustymac75 and TFTC.
