An easy find here and the last one on our hike today

11-Aug-24
Spending a few days in Geelong I decided that today I would target the Fun For Kids Trail especially as I need some more Regular size caches to complete a challenge. It was a beautiful day after a somewhat chilly start and the road was clear of traffic except for about four deadly treadlies riding past. Then a bit later on a few cars sped through. It appeared that these may have been on a rally. A successful day finding a variety of caches in a variety of hides. A favourite point awarded to this cache as I am sure the kids would love it.

Out for the day with ConnieandRick, decided to finish of the Kids series as well as a few in this area we hadnt done. As usual a fun day. Took the Geopups with us which was nice as mine hasnt traveled with me for some time. She seemed to enjoy it, as did we. A great way to lead into Xmas as I love driving around this area and nice to give theCruiser a run. I used to live a lucky dip when I was a kid but I always thought the boys had better prizes than the girls. And still do lolThanks deshut for bringing me here and contributing to this great game for others to enjoy. Happy trails, Deanside

22-Dec-23
Having a wonderful day out with deanside, laughing and enjoying the lovely weather away from the Xmas crowds. We'd started this series from the other end around 3 weeks ago and this time tackled it from the south. All found although one was very elusive. I think we might have signed a few in the kids log, then realised our mistakes. Thanks for a great series.

Super BIG cache! This cache was fun and we are giving it a favourite. The whole series has been a lot of fun so thank you both very much for all your time and effort

Another trip out to the ranges to grab a few more in this neat series, with all but one found on today's run. A good winters day to be out here...even managed to see the sun most of the time.

Thanks deshut and suehut...caches found were all in good shape. Fav point added.

Decided today was the day to head out and try and collect a bunch of smiley faces. I've been out this way before so it was a no brainer to come back. I could see this one from the road so I made sure I added some more cover to it.Thanks for the effort in all the caches you've placed out here Smile

We decided on a trip to the Brisbane Ranges to take some time to be in the bush and go searching for some caches. The weather was started off being a bit windy and quite sunny. We stopped during this series twice to have lunch the first time and a cup of tea the second time. Each time the weather was lovely when we stopped, and it started raining as we were packing up. We had hoped to find the whole Fun for Kids series today, but we ran out of daylight. We will be back sometime soon to fill in the gaps. All cache we found was in excellent condition, and this would be a fantastic series to do with children. Thank you, suehut and deshut, for this excellent series.

14-Aug-21
Headed out today after being released from regional lockdown. Cowgirl_101 and I were hoping to complete the Fun for Kids trail which we started back in 2018! Thanks suehut and deshut for the amount of work you have put into this series.
We obviously timed this trip perfectly as we came across many replacement logs from the day before. We found this one very easily as there were fellow cachers when we arrived. Cache and log found in great condition.

14-Aug-21
Found with my kids and niece on one of the first sunny days this side of winter! They were so excited! Tftc!

13-Aug-21
A cache containing about 10 rather flimsy looking smaller containers, which have been treated really well by the kids that have the task of choosing a lucky dip. Cache and contents fine, and we were impressed that the quality of trades was at a high standard.

22-May-21
This hollow was home to a sleeping echidna! Aysen spotted this, and don't know how he did as so well concealed. Hid cache at back of the tree given didn't want to disturb the occupant. Thanks!

Lucky for some. Tftc

With The ring of Swiss cheese coming down we could now catch up with our Metro Mates, so once again I teamed up with Omegaman1971 and headed to the Geelong area to do some of the many labs and several caches in the area. We had a great time exploring the area. Today We started in Geelong but got a little frustrated with suburban caching so we headed to the Brisbane Ranges to do the Fun for kids trail.

This was one of the caches we found today.

Thanks deshut for the cache.

Was a shame that some of the logs were water damaged and a few offline.

Back here for the 3rd time to finish off the Fun for Kids series this afternoon. Always a pleasure coming back to the Brisbane Ranges National Park. Care was taken with each cache - sanitised our hands before handling each cache. TFTC.

What a better chance then to grab a series of caches then a public holiday. Only 3 of The Famous Geo5 Crew made the journey to the Brisbane Ranges but 9 Year-Old, Geo-Dan joined the older two and got an absolute bliss out of the day. Another solo run and my older eyes couldn't spot this one on the first round of searching. There it was clear as day light on my second search. Younger one was in the car so just signing the cache this time, looked like a cool lucky dip set up as well

Thanks for bringing us to these amazing caches in majestical wildlife deshut

My sixth day of a 9 day caching road trip holiday.
Today I had set out to finish what I had intended to do yesterday before I ran out of energy (and comfort levels due to my wet shoes) and find my 11,000th cache. I had the specific one chosen, and coincidently there were many caching trails on the way.
In the end I managed to find 72 today.

Thanks for the caches.

Out for a drive in the Brisbane Ranges, we followed the trail from Bacchus Marsh to find some large caches towards a challenge. It started off being easy, but as we progressed the road became tricky, still we persevered.
What fun for kids. Thanks deshut and suehut.

Out for the day with my brother Snap Happy, cleaning up fun for kids series, that has been on the radar for some time. We also managed to grab a few extra caches along the way. We discovered many great and clever hides and had no DNF's amongst the finds. Some interesting scenery, in an area I don't normally travel. We didn't have any kids with us today but we still had a very successful day, with some laughs and good company.

Love all these large size containers.

I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Thanks deshut for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

What a great idea! Logged as SKK. Out and about with kenare and kenbryl on this wet and windy day, having fun finding some more caches in this series. Cigc. Tftc

08-Jul-18
I really like the concept of this cache. Logged as SKK.
Kenbryl asked if we could dag in our pjs for 1 whole day of the school holidays and I agreed, but we have busy holidays organised so we compromised, we agreed that we could go caching in our pjs for some more of this series. Last night we went out for an impromptu cache run wearing our pjs, so today was a normal clothes cache day trip. Sean.75 didn't agree with the pjs but, so we couldn't have him be the odd one out. We found some more of this series but have still left enough to come back again soon. Tftc

Logged as SKK.
Sean.75, kenare along with a few other cachers came down this way to start the series ages ago. We decided last night that we could head here again today to convert a few more dots to smileys. I'm really enjoying the series. Tftc

*19/5/18, Found @ 2:06 pm, Find # 7856.*

Today I headed West to attend, Come & Visit Parkville Nov 2018 - Wyndam Vale with biggles1024 but once that was over we then headed out to the Brisbane rangers to tackle a couple of different series, fun for kids was first followed by the Legends! series.
We started from the south and counted down to number 1 as we headed along this at times very rough and other time very good road.
At times the coordinates were very good and other times for us they were out a bit but in the end we were able to find them all and this series was completed.

**Thanks to deshut and suehut for placing this cache.**

**Find #3027**
**Traditional Cache Find #2081**

An early start was needed to head across the city to attend the "Come & Visit Parkville Nov 2018 - Wyndam Vale" event with SteMicMitSar and also find a number of caches in the area.
This looked like a fun series and with a number of Large containers to be found, was too tempting to pass up. We moved from the last to the first. Most were quick finds, but some needed cacher sense rather than our GPS's as the co-ords were at times up to 11m out for us today. The area was very quiet and only a small number of vehicles and people were encountered during the day.

**Thank-you to deshut for placing this geocache**

Found on 6 May 2018 at 3:49 pm.
This afternoon we headed out to do the Legends series and then continue on through the Brisbane Ranges to the fun for kids series as well to get another day of 50+ finds for a challenge we are working on. We were pretty successful, only one DNF on the Pacman Legends Letterbox cache and all others found.
It was pretty quiet today but a couple of times some ancient vintage motorcycles came through on a cruise. Why you would choose these dirt roads I do not know.
The other reason we wanted to do this trail is because we are slowly working on a challenge cache that requires 100 large size caches so this helped greatly.
As we got to each multi we swapped between puzzle solvers/clue gatherers while the other one randomly searched. We found a few finals like this today before the puzzle solving was finished. Not sure if that make us bad puzzle solvers or good searchers?

Took nothing from the lucky dip, just signed the log.
Thanks deshut and suehut for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Someone has been spending way too much of her time staring into the screen of the laptop, so it was suggested that we go and find some fun Geocaches. As this series has the words "kids" and "fun" in their titles, they seemed to fit the bill. So, lunches, snacks and swaps packed, off we trooped. To her credit, ZombeeFish only complained about being bored during the drive out here about seven times...

So after enduring kilometre after kilometre of freeway "safety works", and dealing with a few Legends on the way in, we reached the main attraction.

And they were exactly as advertised. Good sized, fun containers with plenty of swaps, enough trickery mixed in to keep the kids (and occasionally the adults) on their toes. Most of the time, I acted as chauffeur and let ZombeeFish work out where the hides were, sometimes with comical results.

deshut and suehut, as with most series, this is a generic log, with occasional colour. We got to #27 together, with the occasional nudge to continue, and it was dark for the last few. Thanks for some father and daughter entertainment.

Now, someone gets to stare at the computer screen sometime soon, to log her impressive total of 33 finds for the day. Ah, well, that's the bonus of having your own account, eh.

This morning it was wet and during the day quite heavy downpours kept everything very wet. It wasn't long before my footwear was wet and there was water gravel and mud inside my vehicle. But with all these fun caches to tempt me I continued to enjoy them. A fantastic series and only sorry that I had no geokids to enjoy them also. TFTC suehut and deshut. Loved the idea of this lucky dip. What fin for kids

Another great day out in the Brisbane Ranges. Such a strange highway where I also have some geocache hidden (but not on this site), so I know the area well and it's a great place to get out for a day driving or strolling.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today.

I always ask the kids at the end of a days caching what their favorite cache of the day was. Both of them said that this was it. Very rare for them both to pick the same one as well. Darcy was great here going with her original choice but Ryan wanted to go through 3 boxes until he found something that he liked. A favorite from us. TFTC.

Team Gunks headed out today for a family day caching and exploring. The kids had not been so keen on caching in recent time, they loved it when younger but had lost a little interest. Hopefully these series and some others on the way.
Well as soon as we got started and all the cache were fully off goodies the swaps came out and the running and mayhem to find each cache first started. I think we double swapped and treble swapped at some and loaded a few up that were light on goodies.
I also thought this would be too many cache for one outing but we did the lots!
Not too much wild life about, just saw a wallabie and some small lizards.
"Little River" was a bit of an exaggeration, no water! Stopper there for our picnic.
Had a great day out, thanks for bringing us here for an explore. and TFTC.

We've been wanting to get back to complete this series since last year and thought we better make the most of this beautiful sunny afternoon.

Thanks for placing and maintaining the most amazing series for kids Smile

We had so much fun with all the creative caches and couldn't wait to see what was going to be next!!!

Fun for Kids is really a good series that kids can find, but we can't let the kids have all the fun, can we? We big kids like playing and having fun, too. We were impressed with the variety of containers, all the lovely goodies and the activities to do along the way. Wonder what would have been in the packages. We found all the containers we looked for and are happy to collect these smileys all on one day. Thank you to deshut for a great series.

Find #2654

I had a busy Boxing Day afternoon and evening caching to the north west of Melbourne. After attending an event in Melton I worked through TSS V2, the Legends series and Fun for Kids as well as other assorted caches along the way. I had found the last 8 of the Fun for Kids series previously so this was my chance to tackle the rest of them. I rattled through them pretty quickly before dark fell so apologies for the largely generic logs. Obviously getting tired here as I was totally thrown by the number change and busily checked to see if I had missed one! Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and for a great series suehut and deshut.

Find No. 1582. Found with FUF009 at 1.19pm.

We decided to have a caching day so off we went down to the Brisbane Ranges to do the 'Fun for Kids' Trail and a few others along the way. FUF009 came along with us to get a few smilies as well.

We started at number 36 and worked our way backwards by number. At each stop we'd have a race to see who would find it first. Some were easily spotted while others took a bit more time to locate. A fun trail to do and one we all enjoyed doing.

What a novel idea, another cache where you can have lots of fun at. A fav point from us given to this one.
