#12917 - 2:54:00 PM; Day 2 of the Wang Mega tour with Sol de lune. A quick visit to the Mega venue was followed by a couple more caches in town before heading out to finish off the Ned Kelly Helmet series (almost!). We enjoyed lunch at the Glenrowan Bakehouse, then hit the trails to the south before pointing ourselves north then west towards Echuca via Shepparton . After passing through the wetlands, we stopped for a couple along the northern shores before hitting the silo art trail. No real problems here getting to the cache and adding our names to the log. TFTC docNwitchjy
Day 2 of the Mega for LuckyL10n and myself and after grabbing one or two more caches in Wang, we headed down to the NKH series to finish these off before heading off to Echuca on our round trip to Mildura before heading home.
On the way to Echuca we grabbed another 20 odd caches, while also visitng some of the silo art around the area as well Lake Mokoan for a few caches in there. A couple of interesting features were spotted, a bit of history learnt and a few dirt tracks where the AWD preformed very well.
Thanks to all the CO's of the caches we found. Most logs were signed SDL and L.L10n.

Honestly, we just grabbed for this one while it still exists.
The manky old log had dried out enough to peel apart and sign so we did.
No point fixing it up as no docNwitchjy caches are maintained anymore.
It's kind of sad to see these older caches disappear, but I guess the board has to eventually be reset.
Thanks for the smiley.

Dalerious and I thought we would visit this cache and sign the log before it disappears off the radar. The log was signable, but you could see that it had been wet in the past. There is no lid on the container what so ever. Thank you DocNwitchjy for providing this cache in a picturesque part of our corner of our world .

Hi there docNwitchjy,
One or more logs indicate that this cache appears to be in need of owner intervention, so it is being temporarily disabled. This is to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache are investigated/addressed.
Whilst it is recognized that as a result of the current Covid-19 situation, it might not be possible for a Cache Owner to just pop out and check on a cache straight away, we still need to know that you are on top of the issue. **You do need to respond within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this cache. Please don't let a lack of communication kill this placement.**
#What you should do now:-#
- Should you feel it safe for you to maintain and address this cache now, AND your regional Health and Governmental authorities allow it, please feel free to do so.
- **Alternatively,** what you need to do is place a 'Write Note' log indicating an expected date when you you hope you might be able to attend to the issue/s.
**The Write Note log should be placed within 14 days.**
#Please Note#
When a Reviewer next looks in on this cache, if there is no acknowledgment from the CO as requested above, the Reviewer will assume the cache has been abandoned and process accordingly.

1 of 4 caches found today along the western shore. Unwriteable log though.
Thanks

We had a lovely wander around the Wetlands, after a delicious lunch at the Cafe. It seems this cache is still in desperate need of some TLC from the CO, but we don’t think they are living in the area anymore. We have had no response from them.
Another area I haven’t been to before. Maintenance needed. Lid broken and log wet. Couldn’t sign.

Given previous logs, we are simply reinforcing the previous NM log. This cache appears to be in urgent need of owner attention.
The contents are soggy and the container is broken, so no longer weatherproof and needs to be replaced please.

Another great day on the trails of the amazing Winton Wetlands. Comprehensive information boards gave us a great understanding of the fascinating history, culture and ecology. A vast change since we moved away from the area some 40 odd years back.
**FEEDBACK TO CO** As others have said some serious TLC is needed here, the container is broken & the log sodden, both need replacing.
Our thanks to docNwitchjy for placing caches in interesting locations.

Out wandering in the Wetlands on this cold, blustery day and came across this poor sad- looking cache container! Some timely maintenance by its owner is definitely needed. Not only is the cache container in a bad way, but also the tree that it is hiding near.
I made the walk longer than it needed to be but fortunately it is a nice day out. Log is dry but has very clearly been wet and is a little fragile. Tftc
Staying in Shepparton for a few days with the kids and SMS83 and her kids. We hit up some unfound caches as we explored the town and ventured further afield. Today we hit up silo art, wetlands and bushrangers! Thanks for the cache.
An easy find here on my tour of Winton Wetlands today. The lid is broken.

Please consider replacing the cache container. Lid is completely broken and log is wet. TFTC.
Thanks for introducing me to this part of the Wetlands. I love coming here in the different seasons and seeing the different colours that come out each month
Our first find in the Winton wetlands. Taking a bicycle ride around today so hoping to snag a few. Thanks for the hide.
Almost a drive by after visiting ‘Meg’ Will be back later for a ride and this little clutch of caches close by. TFTC
Took quite a bit of time. Just before I was gonna give up, a glance out of the corner of the eye told me that I found it.
Well maintained. Thank you
Well maintained. Thank you
Day one of my holidays, heading to Wangaratta for a couple of nights. This was a nice and quick find on my way out of the wetlands.
My thanks for the cache, docNwitchjy.

GPS was a bit all over the shop but we got it in the end
Found with Sas, Milliemouse and Chels with Big Daddy as support in the car haha

Very nice hide. It took a little while and a very thorough search of gz but we found it eventually. Tftc.
Looked around for a while. Couldn't find it. Will go back again next time I'm over that way.
Out for a day of walking, bird watching and geocaching at Winton Wetlands. We've never been here before and our visit was quite an eyeopener.
This was our first cache for the day.
This was our first cache for the day.
Caching in and around the area, we picked up a few caches in the area and this was one of them. We enjoyed our visit to this new area.
An easy find at GZ, cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

We walked from the parking area and were so busy checking things out that we passed GZ, we smartly turned around and went back and spotted the cache as we arrived at GZ, it was meant to be that we walked past we are sure. The cache is in good condition. SL TFTC
Melbourne to Benalla an overnight stop.
We stopped & found a few caches on the way to the Winton Wetlands which is not so wet at the moment. After visiting the dam wall we continued & done a short walk along the edfe of the lake.
As we returned to our caravan the rain started falling but not enough to change the conditions here.
Found numerous caches types & an assortment of sizes in some great locations.

After a little bit of going around in circles and playing dodge the ants, had this one. With nyochi.
We did the divide and conquer to maximise our caching time here today. Mr LW and 3 of the juniors headed one way while Mrs LW and 2 juniors went the other. It was a beautiful day for caching. This was the first find by Mrs LW with Little Miss E and D. Thanks for the hide.
Driven by a need to get more steps for Steptember I hiked out here in the spring heat to grab one more cache. Had a quick glance at Gz but no luck. Cooled off a Sec in the shade, and then made a fast find. Cache in good condition. Now to find a dash of ant free shade for a cool drink before the hike back.. may be a challenge! Thanks for the chance to explore this beautiful area! Tftc

I am finally getting to the end of the course that keeps dragging me back to Shepparton and thought I needed to pick up a few more caches in the area. Found this on the trip back to visit friends in Wangaratta. Thanks for all the caches and the people that put them out for myself and others to find.
I had an inkling as to where this might be as we got closer but I was actually surprised to see it highly visible so I gave it a bit more camo and a hide away after signing the log. The log was a little wet but still was able to be written on. Also for parents taking their kids to this their is a dead turtle quite close to GZ.

Found by Mary & David at 1110. The rain is falling gently again. So much for our wonderful day of caching out on the 'dry' lake. Plenty of bird life about that was an added pleasure. Our thanks to docNwitchjy.
A fun spot to head for on the pushie today
Not much walking needed [^]
And a quick cache find was mine all mine [^]

An afternoon spent grabbing a couple of caches around Winton. Geokid#3 loved this area as he could get out and about on the bike.. like others I walked around in circles a couple of times before locating the cache.. tftc
Cool. Wet cold day 8° it really cold out now. Out and about with Sorceysal & 6Hinemoa2. Cache in good condition . TFTC Cheers
The reason for our trip today was to get these caches. Arrived at the parking spot and thankfully the rain had stopped. A bit of lunch, a cuppa, coats on and off on a most enjoyable walk around these wetlands. Saw lots of wildlife and this is obviously an extremely healthy area even if there is little water. A quick find Thanks docNwitchjy for bringing us here today.
Heading up here to Winton Wetlands with sorceysal and 08151605 to collect a few caches. We parked in the designated place and ate some lunch, donned our jackets, hats and gloves and then headed off.
Fortunately the rain held off while we discovered the hides at the various highlighted areas in the wetlands. We did see, some birds, bird prints, plenty of kangaroos, and even a wild duck! No pelicans today though. Our imagination ran wild with some of the' tree characters' as we approached each area. That kept us entertained.
By the time we returned to the car we were quite warm and glad of the rest.
Of course, it was then that the rain started again. We were so lucky!

I decided as I was down this way for work again I would have another crack at these awesome caches, the kangaroos were watching me very closely as I wandered around today but light was against me so I didn’t get all that I wanted but I thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful walk around the wetlands for the day - TFTC docNwitchjy, I really enjoyed it!
Found after a stop on a car club drive. Very peaceful and interesting area. TFTC
After a long walk in on the dry wetlands, it was heaven to get to this cache in the comfort of the car.
Thanks for the placement here.
Thanks for the placement here.
A short walk from one end of the woodlands trail from the Hub end of the track and found the cache with the use of our finding devicesand torches. It seemed well protected from attack from critters that might come across it and move or want to break into it. We were soon back in the car and onto our next cache.
Sitting at my computer during these Covid lockdowns, I am trying to catch up on a few logs that I haven't sent in yet.
Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late log, something I am notorious for. Thank you for adding to the adventure that is geocaching.
Thanks docNwitchjy (F=865 H=33) for the cache.

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. We took advantage of the public holiday and the fact that the wetlands weren't wet to get a few caches today. We parked the car and wandered down to this one, our first for the day. TFTC
We found this little cache while I was walking around the wetlands with SciFiRulz. TFTC
Took advantage of the beautiful day and had lunch at the hub before going for a walk. Found nice and easy safe and sound. Now on further to see some turtles
After a delicious lunch at the Hub café we couldn't resist coming back for the nearby caches. Found this little woodland one at 3:45pm. SL Took: flower ring Left: pathtag. TFTC
