Making our way towards home over the next few weeks travelling with 2 dogs and a cat we have found caching a great way to give the fur babies a break. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining.
Found the cache quickly but with the attachment unattached. Now attached. TFTC LiB.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 10 - Cleve to Port Lincoln via Port Neill and Tumby Bay. My short days continue and I spent a bit of time around Cleve before I got under way. Plenty of roadside caches along the highways. I ventured into Pot Neill, Tumby Bay and Port Louth to check out the villages. As ever I would have loved to have stopped for lunch or dinner in each one, but I stuck to the plan and made it to the caravan park in Port Lincoln. Once I was set up I went and did a few more caches on the edge of town. A couple more Counties today. I'll spend another day here tomorrow before heading North West to th Nullabor over a few days after that.As I drove from Cleve I stopped at many but not all of the roadside caches. They all went smoothly except one. Oh well, can't get them all .. Or so they tell me.Thanks for the cache LB46614.19 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & International Geocaching Day 2019 A#413**Albida**
On my way to Port Lincoln for 3 nights. Haven't been down this way before so going to have a bit of a look around. First impressions are very good
Travelling home from Pt Lincoln and time to pick up another two caches for the way home. A nice quick find here and back on the road. TFTC!
When we found the container it was a sad and soggy mess, so have replaced the container and placed it back where we assume it came from. I replacement logbook has also been put in the new container.
Found nice and easily but the container was a soggy mess. we were carrying some spares so weve replaced the container. Tftc
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Visiting Tumby Bay today, Im a big bilby fan so had to stop for this one. For anyone interested, Google Save The Bilby to learn more about the work being done in Charleville,QLD to protect them. Tftc
Ocw the Bebes. Container is broken and found log and plastic bag on floor. Placed in appropriate location best I could but needs to be replaced. Tftx

All this week...
(Go west) Life is peaceful there.

(Go west) To find caches new.

Country, Coffee, Cats, Champagne, Chocolate, and Caching...
Careful caching as always with Jack helping, wherever we go.
It's a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and objects falling from trees
...... but a cache a day still keeps the boredom away
--------
Most of our caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp )
----------
Make sure that Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - clean and cache the countryside
It's awesome of all those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas,
in sensible safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!!

The end. For now...

Found as we headed south towards Port Lincoln during a trip to Eyre Peninsula for a few days. Camped out at Lipson Bay for the night. Another quick roadside stop. Thanks for the cache LiB!
Nice find on my way to pt lincoln, container has disintegrated but log is still dry at this stage. TFTC
Another cache found during our 2022 South Australia adventure using Geocaching as our guide.
Thanks LíB, we appreciated the hint here.

Port Lincoln to Adelaide road trip.
Day One: Port Lincoln to Cleve.
The East Coast has barely even started drying out but conditions here are perfect.
Roads aren’t busy either.
Thanks to all the COs for making the Eyre Peninsula a great caching destination.
I’m in a hire car and without my regular emergency supplies. I’ve got a zip lock bag and a blank piece of paper. Hope this suffices until the next, hopefully better prepared cacher happens along.
Thanks LíB

I'd be grateful if a helpful geocacher could pop in a dry log. If the cache is damaged please let me know & I will archive.
A quick find here, good hint and coords. Cache was wet and logbook soaked, unable to sign.
Thanks for the cache.

Day 4 had me travelling from Arno Bay through Port Lincoln and back up the peninsula through Lock, Kimba etc back to Port Augusta where I lay my head for the night.

Day of caching around Tumby Bay area. Not your typical summer day for fishing. Cool and windy. Quickly located. Log wet. Tftc
Paper rather damp. Staying at Tumby Bay CP. went for a drive to Lipson & Ungarra & picked up a few caches on the way. Tftc
TFTC. Think I’ll stay in the car so Wolly can get one !
Happy caching and safe travels!

A 2 week tour of the West Coast started in Streaky Bay, then to Coffin Bay, then to Tumby Bay and finally a couple of days in Whyalla.
All caches were in good condition unless I've posted a Needs Maintenance log.
A windy day as we toured the back blocks of Tumby Bay.

gridge98 & Davidwazza report that this cache & log book are in okay condition, no wet log.
Thanks boys!
Thanks boys!
This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.
Today leaving Whyalla, we headed down the Lincoln Highway, passing through Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay, Port Neill, and Tumby Bay. Just prior to lunch, we also completed the *Cleve Cleaver* geoart trail. A rather long day of geocaching numbers, but the inland and coastal towns were enjoyable to visit, along with the various picturesque beaches along the way.
Another highway roadside cache. The CO said that this logbook may be wet, but the cache container and logbook were in good shape. The only minor issue that was wrong was the logbook was kind of tattery, but the logbook was certainly dry. Thanks 3LG/@LíB for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Stopped by this one on the road, a quick find was made cache is all good
Today davidwazza and I made our way from Whyalla to Port Lincoln as part of a weekend away to clean up as much as we could. Today was filled with some good and bad times, plus a few car issues along the way but all in all a great day out and 105 caches found in total.
Thanks for the cache

A day in Tumby Bay to explore, not enough time to visit all today but did find a few as well as exploring the wall art around town, after dinner we decided we would do a few more caches by torchlight as we returned to our accomadation at Port Neil. Torchlight searching makes these a little easier to find and one step closer to completing this animal fact series

Thank you for a slightly different hiding place to the ones we have found so far.
Again, despite accurate coordinates, it took a few minutes of hunting by both of us to locate this well hidden cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks LIB for the cache.
Found at 1:02 PM GAFF1.
Odd how that container has let water in - same as any other and there is no sign of a crack or leak?
Thanks LíB

Day 3. heading in the direction of Port Lincoln for some 4 x 4 caches in the national parks and the kayak caches down there. Also targeting letterbox and earth caches on route plus the odd multi. I will even make Port Lincoln today. Only stopping for the caches that are bigger than a micro. quick find at gz.
The geo-godchildren are staying for a couple of weeks so we grabbed my best friend, packed a picnic and off we went on a day long geo-adventure! This was the first one we found along the way, tricky little hide! TNLNSL TFTC!
Today was another day of fun caching on the Eyre Peninsula with ilook4geo. This was a nice quick and easy find and both team names were soon added to the log. All was in good condition with the log as well as the container. Thanks go to 3LG for another cache in the Animal Facts E P series.
Today I travelled from Port Lincoln to Port Augusta. There were so many caches along the way, especially around Whyalla, that I had to be very selective. I chose Silo caches (in the vain hope of finding some Silo Art), caches with a large number of favourites, and them some random ones to fill in the long stretches. I'm getting familiar with the Modus Operandi of these AF caches. Nice quick find.
My thanks to 3LG for the cache.

Travelling Australia since March 2014 it has been a while since in SA but enjoying this visit greatly.
After a great sleep last night at Carrow Wells, Port Neill which was so friendly with a great deal at the store for Fathers Day and awesome tourist signage around. Today it was moving day to Port Lincoln, but we decided to stopover in Tumby Bay first and have a good explore. What a pretty town, which had a great vibe to it. The sun came out for a good portion of the day too.
Seems some of these caches here are having a few problems with the host growing and the containers now being squeezed!
Had to replace the container here but all good now as per the hint

Found with a couple of holes nibbled near the bottom - doubt it was bilbies tho Log should be ok as long as it's not pushed right to the end. TFTC
A nice easy park and grab. The only bilbys I’ve tasted tasted like chocolate.
Thanks for the cache 3LG. Found on 15 Aug 2017 at 12:59 pm. Find #4990.

Warning this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. And learning about animals.
Quick easy find with VCM. Container in good condition and log book dry. TNLNSL. TFTC #ttmug??
#1170 Thirteenth of seventeen finds on Day 10 of my South Australian geocaching road trip. Nice easy find after a short search. TFTC.
Aahh, bilbies. Almost as cute as meercats. We did visit a bilby enclosure once in our travels through far western Qld. TFTC.
Saw on my list, that I needed to find a cache today to aid in my quest to find a cache for every day of the year, might take me a few years but I'll get there! Quick find in the dark on the way home from a relay for life fundraising sausage sizzle! TFTC.
CPwanderer, GoodLook and I headed off for a weekend in Port Lincoln via an overnight stop in Whyalla
Our weekend was unexpectedly extended by a day due to illness and so my tally at the end of the 'weekend' was 168 cache finds
Sadly this was marred by a massive 28 DNFs
Port Lincoln, despite being virgin caching territory for all 3 of us, did not provide us with the pleasure that we had anticipated
So many of the caches were bison tubes and those that we did find, quite often were in places where a larger cache could have been hidden The other issue was the lack of maintenance on many caches
There are people trying their best to maintain the 'wheres wolly' cache hides however their resources are stretched thinly..... so if you are heading over, please pack heaps of cache maintenance containers, bags and log books and help out where you can. [^]
That being said, the trip was still a blast and some great caches were found and great views were seen!
Another quick find but yet again we did not see the namesake animal here, although we did find the cache

Easily located as we headed into Port Lincoln!!
This was one of the caches found on a three day odyssey on the Eyre Peninsula! Myself, GoodLook and locuscache had never cached south of the Cowell/Cleve area so we had high hopes of some great caching. We worked our way down through Port Neil and Tumby Bay and grabbed those along the highway plus a few a little further afield.
Our time in and around Port Lincoln was frustrating. Lots very small micros, lots of very rusty tins and more dnfs than ive ever had in a day before this. We were very fortunate that local cacher , Roming Wendy joined as. Her expert knowledge of the town certainly helped. A medical issue had us stay a third day. This worked out very well as we could do some relaxed caching on our way home.
A special thanks to Roming wendy for her help and to those who hid caches in the area … particularly the Geo-Ambos, Wheres Wolly and Viper321. Special thanks also to my “mildly obsessive” caching buddies on this trip …………………………… amazing fun!!

Found whilst on a road trip with CPwanderer and Locus Cache, with the aim of the weekend to cache in and around Port Lincoln - fresh territory for us all. We certainly had a great time, however with a DNF rate of about 40% [:(!], it was tough going! We did however thoroughly enjoy the beautiful locations and scenery.
After joking all day on the Sunday we should spend another night in Pt Lincoln, circumstances presented that meant we needed to extend our time away! We took it slowly on the way home which enabled us to once again visit some terrific places
Thanks for the cache

Hi there 3LG.
We found your cache **"Animal Facts E P : Greater bilby"** at 2:21:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 13763.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the local area. We usually start the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then take a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. Today we started in Tumby Bay and ended up finding 11 & DNFing 0.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

A quick find as we headed home from our Easter Weekend down in Lincoln. Nice to find these seeing as we're maintaining them. Kept the logs short to save paper. TFTC
