Traveling around South Island And today doing caches between Invercargill And Cromwell. Arrived at GZ And fpund cache. TFTC
Travelling today from Invercargill to Cromwell and stopping for caches and ALs along the way. Many thanks to the COs for placing the caches for us to find.
Stopped to look for this one on our way from Gore to Lawrence this afternoon. We managed to pick up a couple of caches in other places but not this one. Had a reasonably thorough search but couldnt find it. Presumably its hiding there somewhere. Id be very interested in knowing where because it certainly eluded us!
Second time lucky. Came through here on Friday but no success. This time looked some more. And yay smiley. Found with BlazeGJG. Tftc
Stopping for a pie at the four squat across the road and quickly grabbed this one. TFTC
On road trip south, on a road we have never driven down despite 20 years of south Island living, glad you joined us for the trip
Well that was a bit scary fell off the edge of the concrete platform, but hey all in the course of geocaching- TFTC
After an enjoyable pot luck lunch at my Aunty's catching up with the cousins, I thought why not go get a couple of smiley's before heading home. A nice PnG, all in good order. TFTC
While doing the nearby AdLab I grabbed this... no issues here! Now to head up to grab the bonus then up to actually do some work.TFTC Natalie247, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 3 find(s) of 6 today, making this find #4379
Our last cache for the day, after a lovely drive through the countryside with MrMagoo72 and Flamingo4850. I was looking in the wrong place, but MrMagoo72 came up with the goods.
TFTC.
TFTC.
I would have been rude not to claim this cache while doing the AL series!
Thanks for the explicit hint.
Thanks for the explicit hint.
A quick stop in Tapanui for a rest/ some nourishment/ buy the winning lotto ticket and find the cache.
A trip down south the inland route took us through this lovely wee town. Mr. had previously worked in the area and had made us watch the movie again! So he took Miss into the store to see the film info. A fun wee cache in a quiet spot. Tftc
Came here for a couple of FTF’s. Needed to use the nearby facilities so had to have a quick look for this one. A quick look is all it took to have the cache in hand.
Thanks for the cache, Natalie247

My last cache for the day or night as it is 9.40pm. Found at last with some help. Tftc
On previous occasions when we have wanted to look for this cache there were school pupils all lined up for the toilets. Today being Saturday and still the school holidays, we had the area to ourselves for a successful hunt.
#10,453. I am slowly making my way back to Invercargill after crossing inland from Dunedin via Waipori Falls Road and Lawrence. Tapanui is a new town for me to visit. I have only heard of it in relation to Tapanui flu.

Today the community was still very quiet although the adjacent facilities were being well used. Didn't take too long to locate the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced the container where found. Thanks Natalie247 for hiding it here.

I'm driving logistics support for a bunch of crazies on a 4 day cycle tour (average 110km/day, no e-bikes!), which gives me time for a few geocaches.
The tour stopped overnight in Tapanui, this was a quick find in the morning after the riders left.

It is strongly recommend that whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces and geocaching should not be done at this time; https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/New+Zealand
To remove temptation, I am disabling this cache and ask kindly that you do not find this cache during lockdown.
Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. Or if you live near a multi you can walk the trail and save the find for another day. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.

Good place to stop with VDH56 as most of us used the nearby toilets. (Too much details I know).
I now have been to the 'heart' of where the tapanui flu came from although it is now called
ME. We were down in Invercargill for a week or so and i managed to get out and locate quite a few caches around this area. Most were finds but there were a couple of D N F and a couple of "help" e mails to owners etc and i finally located them . I really enjoyed Invercargill as it was a good and easy size to drive around esp after 6.00pm when i often went out for an hour or so- there was very little traffic and very easy parking often right near G Z. I hope i have not muddles too many of these cache as some i did log earlier on and others have had to wait .
Thank you for these caches

Road tripping with the Dunedin Crew and stopped off at this very busy spot in the middle of town. Who knew Tapanui could be so busy... had a bit of trouble finding the cache at first, even the CO couldn't find it. We did eventually find it, but the container had changed from what it previously was, and it is now located in a different position (but one that vertically challenged folks will have no trouble accessing). Thanks Natalie for the cache
Out on a roadie with Guwapo dakotacats, Natalie247 to a celebration event in west Otago. 9th for the day. Busy in the town today. Its been a few years since I was here last. TFTC Natalie247
Out on a roadie with Guwapo dakotacats and Eve07 to pick up a few caches on our way to a celebration event in west Otago where we will meet up with Southland Geocachers.
Checked and plenty of room in logbook for more names.
***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***
[NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!
I had a DNF a while ago, so time to change blue face to yellow.
On our way up to the community event today GZ was humming. Don't know what was happening but no carparks nearby, so just carried on through.
Managed the find on the way back. Looks like a new log and container since my DNF, so I don't know if it wasn't there of if I was cache blind.
Not that it matters, cos today it was a quick find with noone around. Yay.
Thanks for the smilie Natalie247.

Out on a roadie with dakotacats, Natalie247, and Eve07. Very busy at GZ on the first pass, came back after the DNF on the nearby cache and less busy. Quick find, not worrying about the muggles, what better disguise than a bunch of tourists looking at an information board! Salamat!
Easy find. Hot day in Tapanui. Quick stop at the local toilets have a good excuse to look at the info boards around and grab the cache. Lovely spot
28° today so a cooling beer in the local and a quick cache on the way back to the NZMCA pop.TFTC
Cache 426 ️ Nice quick park and grab that’s in excellent condition. Easy find. T4TC

Great way to start the year! After spending the night nearby in a house with the most amazing collection of books, we were ready to head out for more adventures. But to leave town without stopping by would have been rude! Quick find with many eyes! TFTC!!
A nice quick find today. Cheers.
Time to have a holiday road trip, and today we started the road home, via Alexandra, to collect a few TMGT and other caches.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers
