Our final day today in the Yass area, and after breaking camp, decided to cache our way out of Yass, and grab some higher D/T's finally. This was just there, so grab it whilst we can. Monday of the Long wekend. TFTC.
Tried searching for this one from both sides. One is certainly easier than the other!
We moved a whole 60km today from Harden to Yass and are looking forward to the plethora of caches in the area. We were set up by lunchtime, so after a bit of shopping and a quick lunch we headed out into town to do some caching.
We found a variety of caches including trads and multis, as well as completing the Adventure Lab. It was tough going at times with some challenging hides and a few DNFs. Also some high Ts that were beyond us!
The weather was cold with a chilling wind to boot, but better than sitting in the van.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache team.wallace.

TFTC. We have been at the Showgrounds for the last three days. Thought we should find this one before we left this morning. Found without too much trouble. The paper logbook was a sodden mess. We replaced it with some write in rain paper.
TFTC. A nice quick find. Couldn’t sign as it was too wet. I’ll send you a photo to prove I found it. Got wet feet in the process. We pulled into the showground, got the van organised and down the rain came. What a thunderstorm. Gone within the hour. Still hear rumblings. I’m visiting from the Hunter Valley
I brought So out for a party in Yass so instead of driving to Canberra and back it was time to collect some of the caches that have popped up since I last cached in Yass.
Once on the correct side this was a nice easy find. Ju once her first ribbon here with one of Grandad's horses when she was about 6.
The 'O' ring is missing from the container though and the log is very wet. TFTC

Once I got on the right side it was a quick find although, as noted previously, the log was quite damp. Just managed to sign my initials though. TFTC team.wallace
A quick enough find once at the GZ. Log book was extremely damp and I just managed to log my name. Just! TFTC.
Found @ 1:20pm with hccatcher11415
Eagle-eyed hccatcher spotted this one. The log is very damp but we were able to write our names on it.
Thanks again team.wallace

allrounder and I were out to have a look at a few fishing spots and decided to find a couple caches that were out in open with no one about. A quick find.

It took us a few minutes to locate this cache for, despite reasonably accurate coordinates there were numerous places to check and the cache blended very well into the area. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks team.wallace for the cache.
We opted for inside but it could have been found from outside. Tricky little thing. TFTC!
Thanks team.Wallace for this geocache. We’re in our van about 40 metres away from this one. Searched from outside the fence first but success came from inside.
Found during the 1st day of our family trip away. Definitely easier to get to from the outside of the fence. Quick retrieval and with a new log, I felt very special TFTC.

Found on a caching expedition out to Yass with sebass19: from 9:30am to 7pm, 51 caches! Had Queen stuck in my head whilst finding this! Tried a few approaches to finding this cache; soon enough we had the cache spotted. And yes, to clarify, people are 100% able to get this cache from outside the fence. Nicely hidden; and a cool location to visit. TFTC team.wallace!

Up in Yass for work and had time before dinner for a walk to look for caches - in the end end hot less than half, too many people or too dark. This is the third I looked for but the first found. Followed the advice and looked inside - would be found but grass is much shorter that side. Signed the log in torch light but all good here.

Staying at the Yass showground so this was a cache close by that we did. Nice one. Thanks to team.wallace for arranging this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Geo girl on fire this morning
Initial thoughts was it was a bit overgrown. A previous log said it was spotted from the showground side so in I went and still couldn’t find it. It was only when we decided we’d move on but the caging gods shone on us (well, the shiny cache) and then we nabbed it!
Some campers just down the way soaking up the serenity

Found at 11:44 AM GAFF1.
We couldn't find this cache 3 years ago to the day and we said this in our log "For a 1.5/1.5 hide it was a bit too tough. Lots of grass and so we left it." Well the conditions have become worse with the tree branches, but we persevered and got to it from the showgrounds side.
Thanks team.wallace

Found it .....area a bit if a rubbish tip But, hey, all good great cache Cheers & Thanks
A few days caching in the ACT and surrounds with Steeba and The Rats, another trip away like countless others that we have done before. We got the dates, we did the planning, we worked out a route. But there was one thing that we could not plan for; the weather.
The caches were excellent. The company faultless. The weather; atrocious. High winds, cold, sleet, rain, mush, icy, snow, we had it all! But we endured, and had a fantastic time regardless. Did I mention that it was cold? Bone chillingly cold. I am not sure my fingers have as yet recovered! Some roads were even closed due to snow, curtailing our route and resulting in some last-minute changes.
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

A very chilly couple of days in and around the ACT with The Rats and Hoojar- most of the time the temperature didn't peak above 4 degrees! Amongst the sleet, rain, wind and cold however we made plenty of finds on mainly a number of power trails. TFTC!

As we are camping in Yass for a short time, we thought we would pick up a few caches around the district with ilook4geo. It has been a very cold day with a gale force icy blast coming straight from the Antarctic region, so we cut the caching run short, being more interested in thawing out and hibernating.
Each cache we found had initials added to the log and was replaced hurriedly so we could get back to the car and out of the wind. Thank you to team.wallace for this cache placement.

Out on a cache hunting day with goingplaces2 and it was a v-e-r-y cold and windy day. We found enough to make the day worthwhile before heading back to camp to warm up again. Each log signed, all replaced. TFTC.
Found by Mary and David at 16:40. Today, we cached a loop from Yass along the Yass River Road, and returning along Greenwood Road, Hillview Drive and the Barton Highway. The lovely weather continued and we enjoyed the quiet back roads. Such an evocative sentence. Had a look on one side of the fence, but found it easily from the other side. Our thanks to team.wallace.
Second day in Yass. A great clear and chilly morning. Early Sunday is always a good time for caching and quick progress was made.

Passing through this lovely town and decided to grab a few caches here.
I was on one side and Mrs Coongoola was on the other. She found it but it WAS on my side.
Thanks for placing this cache team.wallace . We visited this cache at 10:41 a.m..

Also joined up with lgoody, Tassie Trekkers & Gullivers Travels for these trails.
Many nice trails, scenery and lush pastures around here.

On a road trip with our caravan and heading to Queanbeyan Ozmega event. Staying in Yass for a few days of geocaching. Stopped to locate the cache. A quick find. TFTC
After a successful few days in the Surrounds of Tarago, we decided to head over this side and pick up a few here before heading into canberra. Our first for the day after setting up the caravan at the showgrounds, heading off for some late breakfast/brunch. Early smiley to set the tone.

I'm not sure why we haven't found this one on previous visits - perhaps there were too many muggles around. Today there was a nice lady mowing the grass in the vicinity, but after taking a brief interest in us parking inside in the shade she continued on and we made the find without being watched. Thanks for the hide team.wallace.
Out with smittengranny chasing GA caches and could not go past picking this up. SG already has it but not me. Quick stop for lunch in the shade. Its seriously getting hot though. The aircon is awesome. Cache in good condition TFTC
We’re staying a couple of nights at the show ground in our caravan. How convenient it was to find and sign the log. Cache is in good condition. Thanks for placing it for us and others to find.
Cheers and happy caching!

And so it does! Thanks again for all these caches team.wallace!
Today I decided to stay away from PTs so I drove out to Yass to see how many smilies I could add to my tally. I had a fabulous day with no DNFs though at times I came close to walking away from the more difficult finds.
Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches for us all to find. My name has been added to all the logs, though mostly as SG. TNLN. .

Quick find with Justjessie as we work towards finding all the Yass caches. Today we did all of what was left on the North side of the main road though town. TFTC.
In Yass with SES for training and was happy to head out with a car full of cachers. A quick search in the obvious places and cache was soon in hand, log was a little damp
Down in Yass for the weekend with SES. We headed out after our days training to grab a few caches by night. With a handful of caching buddies we had a good night traversing the area.
Even by night this one didnt pose a problem for us.
Thanks

Travelling home from our two caravan rally events. Camping in the showgrounds.
Tried this one last night just on dusk. Wasn't having any luck and it too quickly got dark. Went back this morning. Still took a little while, but eventually got it.

We must have been blind (or tired) yesterday to miss this one but it was soon found today and logged. Write in the rain logs still work even though the cache was very wet. TFTC
Searched in the wrong place yesterday and came back to have another go. We spotted it almost straight away and we were able to be back on the road before the walking muggle was too close. TFTC
All the Tree coverage made zooming into GZ very tricky but got there in the end .
Sneaky hide and well camo -ed amongst the items at GZ.
Many thanks for the hide.

Cache 2795 on 26/8/17
Darksidedan and I headed out to Yass again to collect a few more caches on a fabulous sunny Saturday morning. We both found around 40 caches for the day - a good haul given we were not in a hurry and headed back to the ACT at lunchtime. Another fun filed day with lots of chatter and birds. If not otherwise indicated, all caches found in reasonable order and in short time.
There were happenings at the show grounds, so we only went in for the find on our third pass by the posted coords. Quick find by Darksidedan!
Thanks team.wallace for the cache!

*Our last day in Yass, in the good company of Suscoe, we concentrated on finding caches within a 5 km radius of the town. That still set us quite a high target for the day. Just as the rain started, we signed our final log - 44/44 smiley tokens!!*
A quick stop, the only animals on show today were sheep.
**Note to CO:** The log is quite damp as the container has lost an O ring. Needs some TLC please.
Thanks team.wallace for placing caches, for everyone's enjoyment.

Suscoe and Phetlern were out and about for our last day of caching in the Yass area.
The day started cool and a little cloudy, but it was fine until the last cache was found and then a thunder storm rolled across from the western hills. Great timing we reckoned.
A really pleasant day of town and nearby caching with a good mixture of hides and fun on the way around the roads.
Thanks to team.wallace again for another hide, the gates are shut with sheep grazing in the showgrounds. Found nice and quickly.

Seems cachers blindness has struck me today, missing a lot of caches that luckily dty73 is finding! After walking right to this one despite it being right in front of me I missed it. After a search around also coming up empty returned and there it was sitting right there! Glad to have got it in the end. Log is damp and ripped. Has room but not in the best condition. Thanks for the cache team.wallace.
Aquilus1 found this one while I smiled at Goldenwattles story from a while back. Yes, we found it from the out side. Was easy to see from a distance, but today Aquilus1 was thinking she should have gone to Specsavers ; ) She still found it in the end. Tftc team.wallace!!!
5429. I popped over to Yass to see the Yass Magpies have a run. Just so happens I had some time to grab a cache or two as well. This one was discovered with out any dramas. Nice to be back. Definitely not as nasty this time.
