A weekend spent in West Sydney to attend 2 non geocaching events enabled us the opportunity to seek out many local labs and solved puzzles in between. A great time was had as we explored many interesting locations relying on the air conditioned car to keep us cool in the 30 plus heat. After grabbing lunch nearby we continued caching, picking up Mysteries and labcaches with renewed energy. Another history mystery solved and signed. Thanks Joshwa27 for the 'History of ' series placement.
The time has come for the Great Colo River adventure. I managed to get away from home about 10am as I have made a list of caches that I would love to find on the way up.The weather is glorious - sunny, warm and a slight breeze - just perfect for caching! However, not the same can be said for the traffic and I admit it made me adjust my list. Also it confirmed why I don't like living in the city. I arrived at the evening's event in good time, having enjoyed a successful day's caching as there were no DNFs. I even had time to start some ALs along the way. A huge thanks to all the COs who contributed to this fantastic game. This was one of the caches that I found and signed.
Up in Penrith for some long weekend fun with some of the canberra mob. Worried we may get a little rained out but the weather has held and we have had a blast. Great to be able to pick up a bunch of solved puzzles, a ton of ALs, some multis, and anything else we could find. Thanks to the COs for enabling our fun and to GLISS! Minniek, Fitzy, dty, Tankengine, joolay, aquilis, youban, sacada, contestsa. Signed today at CPI24. TFTC
Spending some time caching around the NSW/ACT southern tablelands with lots of side trips. TFTC. First day of caching Penrith with the Canberra mob (CPI24). A great day collecting lots of solved puzzles, and everything in between.Nice quick find with CPI24
What an awesome day! Tankengine, Youban and I went and had an awesome breakfast at Percy Plunkett Cafe. The food and service was really good, but the coffee was smaller than expected, but not too bad. After that we got some caches before meeting the rest of the gang (fitzy_1965, minniek, Joolay, contesta, Aquilus1, sacada, GLISS! and Nibletricecakes). We dashed from cache to cache, all we aimed for we found and only had a couple of DNFs. After an all day run around happily caching (only breaking for lunch at Zeus Kebab and Pizza House in Cranebrook Village - which hit the spot!), we headed to the Panthers Club for the event and a well earned drink! This cache: Found. Right where it said it was. Tftc!!!
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 and youban and a bunch of other Canberra invaders! Signed CPI Canberra Penrith invasion! on a caching invasion of Penrith! Thanks Joshwa27!
Up with a group from Canberra running around the Penrith area. Signing as CPI24. for Canberra Penrith Invasion. Thanks for getting me out and about Joshwa27
Find # 128215/10/2024 Caching adventures continue and trying to tick off some of the Penrith caches as well as many on the solved pile as we can. this is one such cache, found and signed CPI24 for Canberra Penrith Invaders - consisting of Joolay, Tankengine, dty73, Youban, Sacada, GLISS!, Nibletricecakes, minniek, Aquillis, and Fitzy65. All caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks Joshwa27 for History of Castlereagh
Found It!Solved this one yesterday without any problems then visited the final location and found the cache after today's CITO event.TFTC
Some interesting history in this neck of the woods, cache easily found here today and is all goodAfter visiting an event in the city today I headed out with Laighside Legends to attend a CITO and find a few caches around Penrith for a few hours. Thanks for the cache
Came back a month later after my previous visit nearby. Thank you CO Joshwa27 for your recent maintenance (overgrown bits cleared). CIH with TBs Canadian Flag, Swiss Duck, Pittiplatsc, Corona Express Cruise Ship and Bierkrug in tow.
In preparation for our tour, many mysteries of this series were solved.
Today we made a trip to Penrith and searched for some caches. The box is wet.

Puzzle solved - oldmorty and headed off in search of the cache.
Following our phones we searched where they took us - no luck.
Wait, one last look before we go empty-handed.
Think - where would this CO hide a cache - Bingo.

Today I decided to focus on finding some of the puzzles I have solved over the past months and years, but never got around to actually finding them.
An easy puzzle which was quickly solved once the correct Internet page was found.
Today the find in the field, which did not take too long. Once found I walked over to the nearby cemetery for some further finds.

We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Emu Plains for a short 4 day caching holiday, staying in a park cabin at the Ingenia Nepean River BIG4 Holiday Park at Emu Plains, and are planning to explore the areas around Emu Plains, Penrith, Glenmore Park, Cranebrook, Castlereagh, Lapstone, Glenbrook, and Blaxland. Will be concentrating our efforts on collecting the Glenmore Park Puzzle GeoArt and the Puzzled Hearts GeoArt caches, all of which we had solved before leaving home, and also hoping to complete the local Adventure Labs along the way. This was our 14th find of the day, and 87th find of the holiday.
The family's chief puzzle solver had solved this one before we departed home, so it was added to today's cache target list. It was a quick find at final GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC Joshwa27.

Great day out for caching - enjoyed the travelling with sevabo. Thanks for the cache. ★★
Beautiful day for geocaching, found it with jackjay1. Thanks for your hidden cache.
Very frustrated that I couldn't find this. New to caching and this was the first puzzle I've solved. Hoped to find the cache quickly but not this time. I'll have another go at it soon.

Out later than I'd hoped for some finds today, as I only have ten for this calendar day. Went for three and got all of them, even though darkness fell at one, and the last was a quick find in the dark - which is coming so quickly after sunset now.
Nice mix of a puzzle and two traditionals.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Nice simple puzzle.
Parked in a familiar spot and made my way to GZ. My cache senses worked well here as I homed in on the right spot straight sway, although I missed the container on first glance.
Completed signing duties and replaced. Then away to my next target.

What a fascinating cast of characters this cache contains! I knew poor Sarah's story having spent my high school days nearby and visiting her grave several times for a scare with friends. The Viscount, Fulton and Hadley all had great stories to tell also.
My own 4xg grandfather came to Sydney as a convict and worked here for Samuel Terry... but that's a story for another cache.
I had meant to take on a more physical cache this morning but a walk down days past distracted me! TFTC.

Driving around Sydney on our way to the National Folk Festival in Canberra. Had worked out coords and deviated off M7 to locate this cache. We were going from History of Richmond (found Yea) to History of Cobbity (yet to find). Makes you appreciate the M7. But we would not otherwise have come here, so thanks.
Have been visiting Sydney and today decided to do some cached in Western Sydney. Arrived at GZ and began searching. Cache found and log signed. TFTC
Last day of caching in Sydney and surrounds and the aim today was targeting some special caches and a few challenge caches. Thank you to the COs of all the caches found today - appreciate the time and effort required in placing and maintaining your caches.

This was the first of twenty finds for the day. Mizmaz and I were on a mission to complete the Hearts Series but this was a small nemesis as we tried this about a year ago but we couldn’t access it due to stinging insects and my being on crutches. We had solved the puzzle a long time ago and knew exactly where GZ was so today we were very keen to sign our names. We parked right next to GZ and after observing where the cache could be, I was keen to grab it but only whilst wearing gloves. After donning the protective equipment, and stepping very gingerly around GZ, I spied the cache. SLTNLN. TFTC.

Puzzle solved ages ago, had attempted the grab last summer but was thwarted by tiny, invisible stinging wasps. Happened to be passing today for another cache nearby when we figured we’d give it another go even though similar weather conditions increased the likelihood of the nasty critters again. This time SF (who was off crutches that impeded her assistance last time), donned the protective clothing and finalised the grab, sting free.

Found with sesblocker.
The work involved in solving this was epic. We had hoped to do all the mystery/puzzle caches while we are at Richmond for the next three days but work commitments have smashed us over the last fortnight.
We have only solved about half the Heart Series due the time constraints and puzzle complexity.
Great final coords made for a quick find.

It was our intention to make a good start on the Penrith Heart puzzle series today, but we had a few of our selected targets thwarted by sleeping geokid, pregnancy and just bad luck with muggles.
We targeted a total of 11 caches with 2 DNFs for the day.
---
Our original intentions didn't include this one, but we made the stop anyway.
A quick search from the wrong angle didn't reveal anything, a change of viewpoint and the cache stood out like a sore thumb. Signed the log and replaced this just as we had found it.

Out to collect some heart series hides and stopped on by to collect this one. Tough to find but coords pretty much spot on, no muggle neighbours seen, thus CIH once on the right side
We thought we'd pick up a few caches to wind-up the year. We'd found quite a few of the CO's hides over Christmas, so why not one more? Thanks Joshwa27.
I must say these “History of” caches can become quite addictive, we found plenty of them over the last week. I solved this one last night knowing we’d be in the area today.

3rd of 6 finds today - Castlereagh & Cranebrook
Having recently solved the last few of the Puzzled Hearts series, it was time to head out this way and start finding some. I got a few, plus some of the other caches in the area.
This one I solved around the same time as the Hearts ones, but I had to get confirmation of my GZ from the CO seeing as Evince is no longer an active site. Today, came here after "Broken Heart" and, thanks to accurate coordinates, I made an easy find. SL, replaced, and continued on to "Heartaches by the Number". TFTC.

Just a couple of hours to spare today, try for some of the local ones we have missed. TFTC quick find
Solved this one a long time ago, decided this weekend was the weekend to do it, but the old parental units were in town for the weekend, hard to get away from them, so after introducing them to Deadpool on Sunday night I slipped out and did a few caches while they slept. This was the first of the 4 I did.
An easy find and close to a fitting location.

While my geo-spouse was in Penrith on another mission (hard to believe there can be any other mission than geocaching), HappyUke and I decided to grab a lift and get some caches in the area. We could not go past the Heart series, and together solved all of the puzzles - some a cinch, others requiring a little more exploration, but we got all solved before heading up to Penrith. We had around 5 hours, which was not enough to complete the series, but we made a serious indent into the heart. There were a few wrong turns, a bit more walking than we expected, a few extra caches thrown in for good measure, but lots of fun and laughs. Thanks HappyUke for a great day caching - just what the doctor ordered to get the heart pumping!
This was the second of the and the first of the extra caches thrown in for good measure. HappyUke had solved it and it was on our way, so we stopped by for a reasonably quick find - Not the first "History of" I have found, so knew the sort of the hiding places the CO used - which was very handy!

Angel27's hubby had to be in Penrith, so she decided to grab me along the way and have a day geocaching. "Any puzzles you want me to look at ?" I asked and Angel27 said"Lets go for the Heart series". What a great call. Angel27 did the left side and I did the right. I had a good go at them but was stumped on a few, maybe it was the lack of oxygen or just I'm a newbie. Anyway I fobbed the cryptic off onto Angel27 (ahhhhh I hate crossword especially cryptic...I prefer numbers) and a PAF for the last couple. We had them all done ready for a great day of geocaching. Twenty one for the day! We still have four from the series to find, but will definitely be back to finish the series. Thanks Toriaz
I want to give a heartfelt thanks to Angel27 for a fantastic day...great weather, brilliant company, wonderful caches, many laughs and happiness into my life
This was our second for the day. I have done many of Joshwa27 history puzzles and quickly completed it and realised it was along the way with the heart series. We made a quick find. Thanks for these history ones, keep them coming.

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Solved the questions with the help of Google. Had a slight hiccup with one of the dates, but worked it out in the end. Was in Penrith this morning so headed on a side trip before heading home again. Located GZ and found the cache without any problems. Not even a passing car to interrupt my log signing and returned cache to where I found it. Enjoying the "History of..." series. TFTC
I've had this one solved for a while but just hadn't made it back to the area. But today I was destroying horcruxes nearby. Nice quick find, then I went for a walk through the cemetery to pick up some more history. TFTC
This cache has been on our "to do" list for quite a long time as the puzzle was easily solved. On arriving at GZ the cache itself was quickly located and the log was signed before replacing all where it belonged. Thanks for the history series and bring many historical facts to light.
Solved the puzzle got the green light from evince. The cache is not hard to find. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thank you *JOSHWA27* for the puzzle and for placing this cache.
The geo-widow had a shopping date with a girlfriend in Penrith today, so I tagged along ... at least for the getting there bit, because then I went caching in an area I have only minimally touched in the past ... around Cranebrook, Londonderry and Castlereagh.
I've done a few of the CO's *History of XXX* caches already and like them enough to have completed the required homework for a number of others that I know I'll get to at some point ... including this one. The only problem here was that I hadn't corrected the coords, which I didn't realise until getting to the posted coords became problematical. Fortunately, I had saved my workings as a personal note and so was able to sort things out and head to a GZ that fitted in so much more with the historical theme of the cache.
Thanks Joshwa for another fun learning experience and find in a series I am enjoying very much.

Another enjoyable history lesson from the CO, one of many of the series on either side of the hill.
A misread of the calculated coordinates, and what was to be an early find for the day became last with a double back. Of course, though, as with all in the series these coordinates were spot on - so much so, there was no drama in seeking the 'micro' container.

#511 solved the puzzle a long time ago now was a good time to get to the same area where we had been a number of times before. Got to the location for a quick find with alnic39. Thanks for the puzzle and the history of Castlereagh
The coords were worked out last weekend while my daughter played on some equipment in Richmond. This morning phlphotos and I met at the cemetery to start our usual morning cache hunt. It's a place we've both frequented for the other caches and trigs.
Out with Team Merlin to find our daily cache to keep our streak going. As we were in the area and had found the cache Burning Bushes we decided to also look for the mystery cache History of Castlereagh as we had solved this previously.
With coordinates already determined for GZ we followed the GPS until we were close to GZ. Parking very close to GZ it was a very quick find. With the cache in hand both signed the log and replaced the cache container and returned as found. Both the log and cache container are in good condition.

Out with JJCC on an morning cache run in order to find our daily cache to keep our streak going - this was the second of two finds for the day, having found the nearby Burning Bushes cache.
When this cache was first published along with the History of Windsor and History of Richmond, we worked out the coordinates straight away in an effort to have a go at FTF...but when we were ready to leave, the claims on all three caches had been made and hence there was no rush to get the cache.
Being in the area today we parked the car near to the dead centre of Castlereagh and made a very short walk to GZ. With the cache found and safely in hand we both signed our names before replacing the container as found.

#3253- I don't get notifications of mystery caches, but I heard about these and with four being within an easy distance from home, I thought I'd take a look. This was the first I worked out- one problem which was obvious by looking at it, but then still at least one error when checking evince. Checked all the information again, and found my issue-then good to go.
It was also the first of three that Nickoheap and I attempted today- a nice easy find once at GZ with spot co-ordinates. Thanks- an enjoyable exercise and way to spend the morning.

I got the notifications for these new caches and gave them a quick look over. I even managed a few answers to the Richmond one. But our weekend was filled with dance classes and performances, so I had to put the puzzles aside. Today however, with the Imp needing to be taken to North Strathfield for RAD workshops, I had a long train trip of time to devote to them. I had the three Hawkesbury ones solved and evince confirmed before we got off the train. Katoomba had to wait for the trip home!
I convinced bikerbuddy to come with me this afternoon to look for the caches. It was a lovely afternoon to be driving around this district, warm and peaceful. Castlereagh seemed the most logical for our first cache.
The cache was easy to find, with no one appearing to be around while we looked for it. I think I people should stick to daylight hours for this one, to avoid drawing attention from people in the nearby house.
Thanks for the interesting history lesson

She picked me up after her sojourn in Strathfield, and we headed for this first cache out of three published recently in the area. A quick find when we got there, although I wondered whether its proximity to a house might be an issue later on. Thanks
I solved the puzzle easily enough and made the find in the way to work.
A nice quick park and grab.
