Stayed at the Leithfield Beach Campsite and looked for this one to no avail! I’m sure it is there, but could have done with the eyes of my usual geo buddy back home in Kent, UK on this one.

GZ had me at what I'd call bushes. I had a good dive into where the GC would be according to the hint, but nothing. Checked elsewhere in case the coordinates were out, but still no luck.

Nice easy find on a great day out. TFTH

Out for a Sunday adventure to celebrate the arrival of Spring.
This is such a lovely area to visit. The cache has been DNFed by a string of cachers so I have replaced it.
Small tube with pale yellow lid, wedged into the lower branch junction of the corner most tree.
A massive thank you to all of the cache owns who have spent time creating and maintaining the caches I found today.
Your efforts are appreciated.

07-Jan-17
We searched around quite a few bushes, but it wasn't much fun (vegetation was dense, and it was hard to get to the base. In the end we gave up.

07-Jan-17
Our only DNF of the day. Our GPSrs were pointing to bushes, not trees but we searched the area pretty thoroughly without success.

Really really yucky weather today - complete storm, but there were these few patches of nice sunshine between! And today was a day with only 5 on the calendar, and wanting to get that into the next darker colour, meant that I had to find at least 6 caches today!! So I decided to pop out anyway, with the hope of nicer weather in the times where I needed to be jumping out of the car!!

I ended up finding 17 caches - not too bad! But the gales were pretty intense, and I was a bit disappointed that I can't do up the zip on any of my jackets, as that made life even harder!!

Number 12. Another speedy one here, and in a very quiet spot on such a cold day.

Consec caching day # 1404

Out and about on this FREEZING winters night. Both TG and I were wondering if we are getting softer in out young age! Flip it was cold. In Amberly at 8pm the frost was already on the ground. We couldn't believe it. We did a quick cache raid to keep the Monday Mad Mission alive for this day. Rather sedate tonight but we did get out and have a few frozen laughs. Back home before 10pm. That has to be a record!
Funny wee park. The section to nowhere was interesting. Cool container, fav from me.

Thanks for the cache Nosynel.

Our recent multi day Canterbury cache raid was so successful we decided to have another one before the holidays finished. Again we got stabbed, prodded, pricked and scraped by the variety of hedges the region is so famous for. And of course we can now hold our breath a lot longer. A skill well worth developing to avoid breathing in part of the road surface every time a vehicle passes. Just over 200 finds were logged this time and a great time was had finding the caches with a variety of shapes, sizes and placements. A big thank you to all COs who made this possible.

With a few more days of holidays left we decided to head south again and find some caches we didn't have time to look for last week, plus some more off the beaten track. This was one of 51 found today as we headed homewards again.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.

Rain finally stopped and seemingly holding off......decided to head out in the mid-afternoon for some fresh air and a bit of an adventure with the boys. Rain was still holding off so the boys enjoyed spotting the weird and wonderful 'pets' over the fence and having a run around on the playground. Sweet cache container. Cheers.

One of the many caches we found on our journey from Oamaru to Picton via Molesworth Station. A mighty and enjoyable journey through NZ high country. Many thanks to the many CO for the great cache placements and for bringing us to new places. Sorry for the generic log.

A Sunday drive to Amberly Beach on a chilly late spring day. Wind was a bit cool, nice in the sun though.

A good spot for a break with the kids on a trip north, a play ground and toilet - a most excellent combo for the little ones! They had fun hunting around for the cache too, they were a bit confused by the camo though. Cheers

[green]Find 7248[/green]... Cool

Found this whilst visiting your beautiful country... Big Grin

This was a great weekend and certainly one of my top weekends spent caching... Mega events are a great way to catch up with familiar faces and meet new ones... We also enjoy the social aspect of eventsBig Grin

From the moment 'the Event' was announced we committed to attend... Planning the holiday around the Event is also something we enjoyed... This was Tomboy 711's first Mega and first time to NZ...

We saw so many beautiful places and quite a few special caches... Cool

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for my enjoyment Nosynel... Big Grin

In town for a “Mega” weekend of caching. I joined up with Yeetrees and gonefishing to form Team YGB. I really enjoyed exploring the country roads of Canterbury. We travelled a fair few Kilometres in the 4 days we were here, and had a great time, with a lot of laughs along the way. Good weather, and good company. It doesn’t get much better than that does it.

Monday. Day Four, Area 4. Today we ventured north up towards Amberley. A change of scene from the long straight roads on the plains that we had experienced in the previous days. We then headed back to Pegasus and Rangiora to round out the day with a bit of urban caching.

Thanks to all the CO’s for all the caches we found.

Cheers and TFTC

Found during the Mega weekend on bit of a tiki-tour around the Canterbury back blocks. Great weather, great caches, great fun! Thanks to all the cache owners for putting out and maintaining caches for us to find. All in all, a fun road trip with Boxhill and Yeetrees, we signed many of the logsheets as YGB to save both time and logsheet spaces. Cool

9am Found Cache - Well after a full on couple of days at the Mega Event it's time for myself and Squirrel Nutcase to head north to Picton for our sailing tonight. As we have done so many caches today have opted to cut & paste for this stage of our trip so we can get them logged. Great trip but not enough time on our side to do any more. All caches that we found today were in good condition and were able to claim them all fairly quickly. Signed logs for all these wonderful caches we came across down south, will return in the future to claim more.
Many thanks to you all.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)...

All too soon, the Mega dream came to an abrupt end... We needed to return to Picton to catch the last ferry sailing back to the North Island. If history was anything to go by, there would be many cache related stops. We tried to get away as early as possible...

We are pleased to report that almost all of the caches we stopped for were in place and in good order. Besides a bit of dampness, there was nothing of concern. This is a feat that cache owners in this area of the country can be proud of... We thank you... Thank you for bringing to our attentions areas of significance. We enjoyed discovering scenic areas, historical and social locations, and other personally meaningful spots.

As stated, we found loads of caches... If we were to write an individualised note for each one, we'd never get the logging done. Hence, there will be a lot of cutting and pasting going on... My apologies!!

Canterbury: A bit of a thematic hide here... Gap tells me he has something similar... TFTC.

FTF at 09:20. Woke to discover a HUGE list of new caches out my way! Oh the dilemma- I like to do local ones one at a time to fill in dot days- but the lure of FTF is strong. Was going to head to Amberley and get at least a couple- but it was pouring down- so I stopped to get this one- Cool cache- but got so wet, I piked on the rest. Sad Great fun tho- thanks NN
