Logs
Bee watching near GZ had me making strategic moves - out late in arvo and they were coming home to roost in their little crevice. I figured I’d be doing some rock scrambling so his trusty treadles off the track and wandered over. Phew - returned safely. After a big trip from homebase about 3500 km out east we are making our way south enroute to home via this inland route. TFTC and the FUN!
Stranded in Newman due to flooded roads. You can use the time to look for a few more doses. Thank you for the fun.
Had some time to kill this morning, so headed up to radio Hill for some caches. Popped in to grab this one with Ashjjj and admires the views. TFTC
Definetly a track and a climb but worth it to grab. Still there even tho there are DNF's around .
Yep, should've checked the terrain before trying this. One to do if the missus isn't around, me thinks. Great spot. Thanks for the hunt
Ran out of battery when we were up this way 2018 so came gave to retrieve the last of the lookout caches. Unfortunately did not find but also unfortunately accidentally scared an owl and wallaby.
Out for a morning run to these caches but out of the three of them I only found one and this wasn't one of them.
I explored the cave from top to bottom but didn't spot it. So many hidey holes

A tricky spot to negotiate but this is the type of caching geo-hubby thrives on. Found container 9mts down from top in good condition. Thanks jasenjanine
Out today finding some caches jasenjaninei found your cache Whale Watching this is find number 1374 for me TFTH
Arrived in Newman with Cravo10 after a very long day driving, this was the only one we went for today as all that C10 needed in the area that was accessible by his car.

Arrived in Newman today around 4.30pm after setting off from home at 3am this morning, the aim is to head to Karijini for the next few nights for a little getaway.
We travelled around 1300km today, met one other Geocaching team in Mt Magnet and managed 5 finds for the day. This one had me on the edge, last time I was here there was a snake guarding the cache close by this time a bee hive! The walk to the cache was not ideal in thongs however soon made the find minus a bee sting or a snake bite. TFTH J+J have a Fav point

After 3 x Bee stings, from 2 different approaches, bravado gave in to common sense and I waived the white flag. Thanks for the climb.
pug002 found it on 11/8/2018 on our trip north. Todays logs we have been putting 10th, we have lost a day somewhere Looks like another day of mountain goating. Yep Geo hubby said this old goat is finding the mountains too hard lol. Geo Hubby found a Westrac oil test container the last log in it was fairways drivers. TFTC jasenjanine
Quick find with help of the photo spoiler. Mine tour up next. Seem to have found the replacement cache as kyzabra is the only scribble in the log. TFTH SL cheers
We nearly gave up thinking this was too risky for us old codgers, but spotted an easier way and there was the tell tale sign. TFTC
Wow and a fave from us, took a bit of clambouring around up here but then we found it!! No sign of a beehive here! Suspect we may have found the original, last log is 2016! Black tube with yellow lid???? Anyway TFTC and a great view of the mine!
On another work trip, I convinced my muggle colleague to visit the look but there were alterior motives. I needed to turn my frown upside down.
A DNF over a year ago needed to be fixed.
After initially approaching from the wrong direction, a gentle in the right direction from the CO with a PAF led me down the right path and to a find. About 3-4 metres from the still active beehive.
A fav from me for a challenge to find here.

Dropped by this cache today, and expected it to be missing after the recent DNF's. It had most definitely disappeared somehow, and the bees had multiplied in numbers 10 fold
I placed a new 200ml sistema in a place very nearby ... a little further away from the bees this time. It's only about 4-5 m to the left of the old hide, so I have left the co-ords the same
Happy Hunting [^]

I wasn't expecting much, judging by recent logs, but I was in the vicinity and I may not be back to Newman for several years, if ever, so what the hey!. I followed my GPSr to the edge of a precipice and figured the cache was below, so I back-tracked to find a way to get down to the level of the cache. As soon as I got near, I heard the sound of the bees. I checked out a couple of likely spots, but the second bee sting on my (bald) head made me call it a day. If the cache is still there, it will take a more intrepid soul than me to retrieve it. TFTC jasenjanine.
I was flying home to Melbourne today and as the way my work unfolded meant that I may not need to come back here, as I was up bright and early I thought I would give this one another try. This morning my GPS took me to another location...much closer to where I had finished two days. I retraced my steps to "the bees" and started studying the "spoiler photo".
I was just getting to the point of deciding that maybe I was in the right place when a couple of bees discovered me...and made it know that they thought I was definitely in the wrong place! A couple of stings later I was far enough away to be safe...and far enough away to decide I really didn't need this cache today.
If I am ever back in town I will have to give it another try...but only if the bees have moved on.
Jasenjanine thanks anyway for the challenge...can't blame you for the bees.

This one had me beaten today.
Searched on various levels and in many holes.
Will have to return next trip

Four Terrain 3+ caches before breakfast seemed like a good achievement so I came looking for this one. My GPS had me standing on the edge at the top...having read the Hint, this was clearly not right. I maneuvered my way around looking for a way down. I thought I had found a good route...until I got to "the bees". At this point my GPS was telling me that I still had 15 metres to go...and no way of getting there. My watch was also telling me that it was time for breakfast if I didn't want to be late for work so I left thinking that I might be back on my next work trip up here.
O bugga! Looked & looked after quite a climb down & then up the other side, but no bees, no cache today. Loved the walkabout all the same, so very different from home in NZ. Love the Pilbara!!
Cachers 1 - Bees 0. There is something quite obviously wrong with me - the Bees left me alone while I retrieved, signed then replaced the cache, so I can report SL, NS (No Stings). Thanks to jasenjanine for the cache. A great placement so another FP from me for this cache.
Well if want a cach that tests human survival this is the one.early start up the hill.start walking to the cliff edge spinifex stabbing you on the leg.loose rocks to fall over.start climbing down to wards ground zero. Found it reach out to log.then the bees from hell decide no you dont.time to get out of here so here is the picture.angry bees stinging cliff edge.dont fall off .rock a tripping . Spinifex a stabbing .bang there goes to head set .bees still stinging 1 arm.1 x ear 1 x wrist.made it up hill. Laughing as partner has one chasing her purple hair.finally bee gives up .now partner has to pick stingers out of ear wrist arm but no this is not the end . Head set $100. So suck it up big boy.quietly make my way back down.find head set make it out alive .time for ice pack stingers are starting to become painfull.so i did not sign log but are still alive so claiming this one.TFTFC
Well.....found this cache... but can't get near enough to sign the log. After a few nasty stings we retreated... but claiming a smilie for it. TFTC
Not for us this day because there were so many bees near the location of the cache that we found it dangerous ...

Hi there jasenjanine.
We found your cache **"Whale Watching"** at 2:15:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 14290.
We are travelling from Darwin to Geraldton via the inland route - Newman, Meekatharra, Mount Magnet, etc & thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the mountain today. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places.
We thought they were getting easier - this one surely proved to be the exception. Maybe we just chose the wrong route.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 6 metres from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Fabulous views of the mine from here !!
I cannot imagine that there was a bg hill here now
BHP sure flattened it and then some !! [^]
I hope Japan and China are happy
After some whale watching,
far away from the coast,
I scrambled down the rocks to track down a cache
I'm glad I read the notes carefully,
otherwise I would have kept on going to the bottom of the cliff
Cache found in a small cave behind the tell-tale rocks
TFTC.

Wow. This took some finding. It helps to be on the right level which I wasn't for a considerable amount of time. Eventually I found my way up and then down again and finally I looked in the correct tiny cave. Thanks for this cache. I'm hoping it fills another square in my D/T grid.
After not finding it yesterday, I went back and loaded the picture into my GPS and found it this morning with the help of the photo. The odd bee or two is a give away as to where the cache is hidden. Dropped off a plastic motorbike.
Thank you for the cache and the hide jasenjanine.

Saw this pop up on a FB conversation on Geocaching WA. Now while I'm nearly 1000km away, part of our team, Geoson is working in Newman. Knowing it was a rare day off I sent a text and sure enough he was out the door. (Of the pub- as seems to be a common social activity in Newman). Several phone calls followed and lots of huffing and puffing. Then the joyous call we wanted. "I've got it!" Apparently there is a nest of bees quite close which caused some concern but other than that Geoson was very impressed. Thanks for hiding.
