Well today Im the walking wounded after my accident at a D/T cache Sunday night. Ended up with right arm in plaster and black eye. Outnabout with Chamad, Snickersallan, Ardom & Bluewattle on my first ever trip across the ditch. Log signed as QLD+1 to save some space. After a week of caching around Brisbane and at events last month with other Geo friends, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to hop on board for a NZ Mega adventure. Another great day for caching. ?? Day two- Geo Toroa DunedinStill cold, wet and rainy With Queensland buddies, Snickersallan, chamad and WollastonSigned log as QLD+1Thanks for creating and placing for our enjoyment
Here in the land of the king white cloud to attend the mega in Dunedin. Many thanks to all those involved in the organisation! Today we targeted some of the DT puzzles plus a few unusual caches as extras. Much better weather and some scary roads . Travelling and caching as a group Qld+1. Cheers
The road was in flood just past GZ, luckily we were planning on a u-turn here anyway. The puddle in front of gz made it difficult while trying to keep feet reasonably dry. Log signed as PC & N or vice versa. Thanks Onslow Fisherman#17373
Marchwood, AlunB and I found this one while binge caching the airplane series. TFTC.
Team SEAC consisting of HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-crane, UncleSam, Keylev and ourselves headed to Dunedin for the 2024 MEGA!All logs were signed as SEAC to save paper (except where specific signing requirements were requested)Thanks to all the CO's who had maintained the caches as we found a majority with fresh paper and containers!TFTC
Here for a fun weekend with friends from Auckland to attend the 2024 Mega. All logs signed SEAC as a group. Very sorry for the generic plain logs. Thanks to all cache owners for placing the caches.
What an incredible day it was. This morning Kittykatch, Joolay, barb2e and I cached our way to the airport. Here we met up with Binliner to attack the Plane/Jet series, which we had solved before leaving Australia. We found every cache that we tried for, and this was one. The logs were all signed CCD (Canberra Cachers Dunedin). A huge thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches. You add so much to our game. ??
Down for the mega and today was the day to complete the aeroplane series and of course some additional ones!! Wasn't quite where I expected it to be but soon had it in hand. Thanks for the cache. Signed as Team SEAC (South East Auckland Crew)
We are in Dunedin this weekend for the Mega with Stik-a-Crane, UncleSam, KeyLev, and NZTravellers. We have signed all logs as team SEAC to save space, especially as we know this weekend will be busy for all caches. We have landed, picked up the cars and the plane geoart and any other trads, multis, or puzzles we have solved are the targets for the day. We have had an amazing time and had very few DNF's for a very successful day with lots of laughs and memories made.
Attending the Dunedin Mega this weekend. Out caching today with Agazo and AlunB. Signed logs as AMA.Our plan was to complete the aeroplane artwork and any other caches that we stumbled upon enroute.TFTC
Day dawned fine and dry after some rain through the night so was looking good for our plans for the day.A great morning spent collecting all our solved puzzles for the plane. Started at the airport with Smittengranny after meeting Binliner off his flight and then we teamed up with Joolay and Kittykatch. Had no problems with most of the finds and certainly enjoyed a few stops at the Outram cafe. Caches signed as CCD for Canberra Cachers Dunedin. After a lunch break (at the Outram cafe of course) Binliner headed off into town and Joolay, Kittykatch, Smittengranny and I took advantage of some hours left in the day and decided to chase some DT caches that we had managed to solve before the threatening skies chased us away. Some great country out here and lots of good views to capture as well. Tftc
Arrived today from the Northern Island to attend Geo Toroa (Mega), as a group consisting of myself, HeMaLuDy, UncleSamNZ, keylev, NZ Travellers, and of course it would be rude to not locate caches as we left the airport heading into our accommodation in Dunedin.Signed in as SEAC to save logbook space and on our way to the next hide.TFTC.
After arriving on an early flight, teamed up with smittengranny, barb2e, Joolay and Kittykatch for an enjoyable mornings caching session around the airport region. Signed as CCD (Canberra cachers Dunedin)Exchanged anecdotes with some local farmers who kept us entertained and were generally supportive of our mission. Thanks for placing these caches for our enjoyment and welcoming us to Dunedin.
So happy the weather is perfect for doing this trail.Day 4 and meeting up with Binliner, smittengranny and barb2e. Signing as CCD for Canberra Cachers Dunedin. Finally back in NZ and this time for a Mega. Starting in Christchurch before heading south. Lots to see and do with Kittykatch and Grimraider. Will be joining with others as the days go on.Thanks for getting me out and about Onslow Fisherman
Down in Dunedin for the Mega event. Travelling with Davidsonclan and McJandals. Really fun to be out and about with the team and catching up with other cachers friends m everywhere. Thanks to all the organisers and all the COs for some great caches. It is certainly a lovely area of New Zealand TFTC
Down here for the Dunedin Geo Toroa Event from the sunny Bay of Plenty,Tauranga and are with some of Team BoP. Great to get together with our fellow cachers. Signed Logs MDF. (McJandals,Davidson clan & NZ Flossy)I am logging using the Cachly App and using their template option which helps with my memory for logging. I genuinely thank every CO for their time and effort put into these caches. Much appreciated.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega this weekend with McJandals and NZFLOSSY. Signed the log sheet MDF Thanks for the cache.
Back in our hometown for a weekend of MEGA adventures.Luckily great weather on our first day meandering around TFTC.
Visiting Dunedin for my first Mega Event, on tour with flossieteacake. Had a great time, despite the weather. We had all seasons: sunburn and (almost) frostbite!Great to catch up with caching friends, new and old, and to explore Dunedin in more depth.Thank you to all the COs for making their caches available after the recent floods and thanks to TeamOtago for all their work to ensure a successful Mega!TFTC Onslow Fisherman?? ,';*={thanks}-*;', ,;:*(thanks}:*;*:{thanks}*:;, ,;{thanks}:;:*{thanks}:;:{thanks);, `;:{thanks};:{thanks}:;{thanks}:;' `*&;:{thanks}:;:{thanks},:;&*' `-+;:*{thanks}*:;+-` `-\\\||///-' __ \\||// __ / `------' \ | }-(______)-{ | \___/ |||| \___/ /_, |||| ,_\ \| |/
We arrived this morning ready to cache a bit before this weekend's Mega. I was designated driver so maplerosenz tried to spot the likely host for this cache. As I pulled up alongside it was obvious where it should be hidden.
Back home in Taranaki after a massive 5 days at the Dunedin Mega with MrMuggleNZ and its time to start logging my findsall 226 of themso wish me luck. Only 2 DNFs the whole time we were here so thats a testament to the dedication of the local cache owners and their maintenance prior to this event. This was a quick find in the long grass..was able to cover it up again like no one was even here. TFTC
An easy find on a beautiful afternoon. I stopped by here on my way home from the airport run.
Out and about on day 10 of my South Island Tour and day 4 of "Wellingtonions Gone South: Dunedin Edition" with NZ_B, TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri. The target of this day was cleaning up the plane. All logs signed as MINT. TFTC
A visit to Dunedin by Wellington geocachers NZ_B, Itchyfeet2020, TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Taybeen NZ, and myself. Signing as Team MINT, targeting old caches, Wherigos, and whatever else we can find.Found this one while completing the Airplane series. All good in container. Tftc!
A group of friends have traveled together to Dunedin to collectively target a whole bunch of caches, primarily because of their value in terms of Jasmer Grid filling, or for certain Challenge Caches that we have elected to try to achieve.M.M.I.N.T.T are Mr-Mcgoo, matagouri, Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, taybee nz and TwigNZ. Some logs were signed this way, some were signed as M.I.N.T for expediency, and some (mainly Challenge Caches) were signed with individual names.Day 4, our last day before heading home this evening, and the main focus of our day would be hitting the Plane geoart series. We had no idea whether we would get to complete it today, but having met the CO for a drink last night we hoped we would. This was effectively a quick park 'n' grab. Driving up to GZ it was clear to see where we needed to search, but which one? NZ_B chose one, and Mr-Mcgoo went to the other, and came up smiling No problems here, so everything was replaced as found once our team name was added to the log.Thank you for putting out this cache for all to find.
Day 4 of the Wellywood Adventure to Dunedin, with 6 wellington cachers in town. The trip had been in the planning for a while - especially to get Sutton Lake, the Old School Challenge and other personal goals. The backup plan had always been - "lets get the plane solved in case we have time". Today was that day.Stopped for this one to since we were in the vicinity. At GZ the name became clear - a fun one thank you Onslow Fishermen. NZ_B and Mr-McGoo duked it out here with Mr-McGoo getting the win. All caches signed as Team M.I.N.T.
(# 8370) The Wellington crew are on another mission. Included are Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, TwigNZ, Matagouri and TaybeeNZ. As usual quite a bit of hilarity. Day 4 was more centred primarily on the Airplane series down towards the airport. Signed as MINT.Thanks Onslow Fisherman for bringing me here.
And went to the other one and didnt find it!!Day 4 of The Wellingtonians are in Dunedin tour with TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri, as well as TaybeeNZ who decided to have a few days of his South Island tour with us. We are targeting specific caches -oldies, wherigos (thanks to the Seagnoids new caches on the Wainuiomata Hill road in Lower Hutt), a certain jet and hopefully a certain bird. Of course, there will be days of laughter, no doubt at my expense During our time here, all found caches were signed as MINT, regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 5 of us hadn't found it previously, or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Onslow Fisherman.

There were a few workmen up the road, painting bridges etc, but luckily they weren't looking our way as MrMagoo72 and I went in search of this one. Soon found well tucked in. TFTC.
We are down on holiday and out finding some airplane puzzle caches and any other in the area. Great title and thanks for the cache Onslow Fisherman.
Today was Day2 of signing off some of the Airport Mystery caches. Oh another trad that just had to be got out of the way. Thanks Onslow Fisherman.
So that's what those things are! On our Monday caching drive today we have seen quite a few of these things. The same dog walkers almost caught up with us again, only to turn tail ( no pun intended) once the rain started. Found with Debsnz. Thanks for this one.
Pulled up beside a couple of nice 'bent' specimens and the decision which to investigate first was a priority as a couple of dog walking muggles approached. Thankfully the find didn't take long and the dog walkers had turned around before they reached us. Found with Spoonz2
I traveled south to meet up with the rest of the Southern Flight Crew, and together we set off on a bumpy adventure to collect the aeroplane series nearby. TFTC
Found with Troodles, StreetWalkerNZ and Mrs KC on a hot day while out searching for most of the GeoArt aeroplane series. As you say, a very distinctive feature, although I had never known the reason for their existence. Thanks for the info.
TNLN. TFTC.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ, KiwiChris and Mrs KiwiChris after lunch in Mosgiel as we attempt to find as many of the new airplane geoart as possible on a warm and sunny Dunedin day.
Well worth a cache! Didn't take long to sniff out the cache. TFTC.

#20657. Good to include an OF cache in today's haul (which mainly consisted of geo-art caches). TFTC.
Out and about on a roadie to Mosgiel and surrounds with TaniaD, hunting up some unfound caches from my previous visits, time running out on those treks as plenty around here to get.
On the backroads heading home, definately had to grab another of OFs caches. Interesting bendy thing..Replaced log baggy wanna keep his special caches going x

Cache 743 On an Impromptu caching trip with Wombats4 we decided a day trip to Mosgiel was the go so up we got in the frosty morning and made the trip up from Invercargill, it took a little while for the warm to come but Mosgiel put on perfect weather for us.
Almost back on the main road finishing up our little day trip got to GZ and the area is definitely bent…… I wonder what the bent things were used for maybe gates??? Definitely can’t miss that hint. Cache was a quick easy park and grab, Wombats replaced the internal baggy to keep this cache in top top shape and going for more years to come. The view towards the hills here is stunning very relaxing T4TC

Last one for our afternoon drive. Straightforward find and love these insights which otherwise would drive on past without much if any thought. TFTC
Heading home from a Guiding training a little further north.
Took the opportunity to tick off another wonder of the world for the current souvenir.
Have seen a few of these around the place - and now they make sense.
Thanks for the smilie Onslow Fisherman, and those who now maintain.

After a great event and picking up the wonders of the world modern we did our homework and armed with our list a very early start to pick a needed D T .
We then worked our way though the list and enjoy the stunning views.
Last time I was in Dunedin I was spending all day at the hospital as annielin was under the weather.
So not much time for geocaching.
Today is time to explore and enjoy Dunedin for all its glory on a stunning morning with no wind .
No homeward bound we will grab a few to add to the fun
A quick search soon had the goods in hand and with log signed returned to hide.
Now time to find the rest of the list .
Thanks for the hide

Pretty straightforward cache to find. Good to learn a thing or two from these caches, thank you
Quickly found. Emptied water out of container and dried contents. Log ok. Tftc
Parked. Waited while a muggle did a stupid turn past me because they went there wrong way. Quickly retrieved and returned. Tftc.
After a hairraising landing on second try, I was finally ready to grab a few. I thought that rather than rushing into town, it would be more useful to use the daylight near the airport Quick find here in the wanig light, TFTC!!
Muggle with a SUV towing a log-splitter came out of gate nearly opposite (took a pretend phone call). Had barely retreive and returned when he returned without log-splitter and looked like he was back for his trailer load of wood. TFTC
