Seems that to continue the road they have closed this bit until works are finished so best to archive.
Yeah nah. Not all that happy searching in an area that said no trespassing and 24 hour surveillance and all that kind of stuff. I guess we would have been much happier had we found the cache but - - - them's the breaks .
A hard find in the dark lots of rabbits and had to borrow pen from site safe box tftc
In the area so made the quick detour and grabbed the cache. Nice quick find. Admired all the pukekos and rabbits running around. Looks like their homes might soon disappear. Thanks for the cache.
I was wondering if I was being dropped off at the nearby establishment. Whew. No way. Lots of pukekos with chicks.

I was in and around Waikanae this evening, and thought I'd take advantage of the opportunity to try for some caches away from home to get my numbers up towards the magic 1000 which I will be hoping will be the WENZ Mega event itself this coming Saturday.
By the time I got to this one, the light was fading fast and the street lamps were on. That meant that there was no-one about to disturb my searching, but also made the act of searching a bit more difficult.
I had thought that GZ was an obvious location, but after 5 minutes I had turned up nothing. I widened the searching without luck, before going back to my first choice of locations, dropping to my hands and knees and manually going through the grass carefully. That was when I discovered the pill container, just lying in the grass. On opening it up, I found it to be completely empty. No log to be signed. I have taken a photo, which I will send to the CO shortly for verification of whether this is indeed the cache container or not.
Rather than just leave it lying around, I replaced it more akin to the Hint using a device which I believe was most likely how the original cache container was secured originally.
Thank you for placing all your caches, and I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news about this one.

Another new subdivision. .. wonder where all the pukekos are going to go. Will come back with pen to sign the log.
It won't be long now until this isn't the end of the road! So many houses being built here. Girls enjoyed bunny spotting - there were lots around. TFTC.
No digger spotted today but then we are 18 months too late I guess. Spotted a very cutsie Harcourts sale offices however, really well done. A quick find, in fact the other team member was out of the car and made the grab, even without the GPSr!

Found with team cacher zboy wonder while we nailed some random KC cache hides. This was one of those.
Straightforward find; all in order, log signed, cache then safely re-hidden, just as found.

didn't take us too long to find, we were a bit worried after the last person had a DNF, but the hint was helpful and we found without too much trouble at all
9.20am. This one needed crossing off and today i worked how to get there and did the deed.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
On way back from Wgtn and thought i must have another look as i hear it may be archived soon as the road goes ...?? The old shed has now gone and the the whole area has been cleaned. Luckily the ground today was dry and solid and no workers around by now so it was a straight forward find, sign and replace with out any muggles at all Thank you for this cache and another smiley face.
I did take a photo of the cleared area. which i will post.

Only find out of three attempted today, although in one case I didn't have time for a good search and there were muggles nearby.
Fortunately though there was quite a bit of work going on with excavation etc it was away from GZ area and the nearby machinery was not in use. I suspect that on a weekday and maybe some other times it may be impossible to do this cache without being observed. Although cache is accessible without trespassing on the construction site you would probably be regarded suspiciously by the workers.
Unfortunately I put my foot in some smelly mud at GZ!

Exactly where you would expect to find it. In good condition. Because of the construction work things were pretty muddy so I ended up climbing along the fence Tftc
No problems here for me today. The coast was clear and the cache was hidden pretty much as I guessed it would be.
Busy on a weekday with all the new developments, but managed to find without being noticed by local workers. TFTC
Replaced the missing container - probably wont last here long now as a lot of construction work going on.
this was the only other DNF for the day. instead i sunk up to my ankles in the soft mud. contractors had dumped fresh soil here and with the rain id was very very soft so luckily i did have gumboots.!!!! it is the end of the road for now but not for long!!!
A quick grab of a few caches after completeing the Akatarawa traverse.

Had to get out and grab two more caches just to round the numbers up! This was the closest so gotcha.
Won't be long and this cache will have a house next to it! As it is there is now a new house looking onto GZ.
Thanks tmann421.

Cache # 3,767 - a very quick find, even with some builders not too far away. So many people around, including folks who live here, that no one paid any attention at all. TNLNSL. Had to avoid the massive mud puddles near cache from all the vehicles chewing up the turf! TFTC!
Consecutive caching day # 1,460

Came up the coast today to knock off some of the Waikanae caches. A quick find even when there were workmen working adjacently. All in order. TFTC
I was making myself towards the bridge cache but there were muggles everywhere so I kept driving to see where the road went. Well, the road came to an end. I stopped to check what caches were around and this was right here. The GPS led be directly to the cache for an immediate find. A magpie was strutting around in the field but of course it flew off the second I pointed a camera at it. TFTC.
#8923. A rainy day visit to Waikanae today. There were construction activities a little distance away, but fortunately GZ itself was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. Nice hide. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

TFTC. Always good to get a smiley after a DNF. Bet this area changes over the next few years....
Called here while in the area this afternoon, found the cache quickly in the first place checked. Signed log, TFTC
Another good find here while out and about collecting some caches.

A quick find while in the area today. No problems with the cache which is all in good order. Thanks for the cache.
{FTF} What a good start to the New Year, an FTF! I was even unperturbed by the pouring rain to grab this one. This area is developing surprisingly quickly - I wonder if the new Expressway is encouraging more and more people to move to the Kapiti Coast? Thanks for placing this cache.
Braved the horrible weather to find this one, unfortunately we weren't the first here so 2TF for us. Across the road there are a few very friendly cows that kept us company whilst searching Thanks for the cache!
