Reperio 17:04Heading home from Newcastle today after a short overnight trip, and this was the last cache of the day, in such a nice historical location. The log is a little wet on this one so will need to be replaced at some point.Gratias Joshwa27As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Here for a wedding, and had time to be able to walk over the road for this cache. Unfortunately the others were a bit far on foot given the timing. TFTC.
Found OCW jennyfromthefarm today. TFTC
Found a while back, just catching up on logs

Found this one and had a good look across the road at collits inn, built by my ancestors. Shame it didn’t get handed down in the family. TFTC and for bringing us to this nice area with easy terrain caches today.
Beautiful morning in Hartley Vale. Moved cache back to where the hint says it should be as it was still close to 30m away on the wrong side of the creek. Right on 0m now. TFTC
Found it laying on the ground 30m from were it was ment to be...have contacted owner we but it in a stump so the owner can relocate it back to were it should be...

Another father/son afternoon of caching 'til we run out of light'.... Our main aim was Mount York, but a track closure gave us extra time so we headed down the pass again into Hartley, grabbing another 5 finds before it was too dark (and cold).
A quick find at GZ, a barking dog across the road meant we didn't really hang around long to check out the inn.... bashed our way in through the grass, and took the much flatter geotrail out... TFTC!

On our way back home and stopped off to find a few more traditional caches. Parked up near the Inn and walked down to GZ. Spent a good 20 minutes searching but unfortunately could not find the cache today. Thanks for the hunt Joshwa27, we will be back.
Surgical precision needed to reach this cache - made for a good laugh. Wire hook added.
Area has recently been cleared & large branches have been removed from trees. Maybe someone could check if the cache is still in place?
First night of a 3 week campervan trip. made use of free overnight parking at Lockyer Trail Head, and took the GeoDog for a walk. The super tall grass was a bit much for her for the last 20m
Was passing by for a Sunday drive as there is a tower in Flagstack close by. Finally stopped for the cache. Gotta enjoy the long grass when the wife says watch out for snakes. TFTC.
Quick find and sign.
The old inn is looking well kept.

Parked opposite the inn and I made my way down to GZ while geowife investigated the historic inn. Quick find and cache was in good condition. TFTC Joshwa27
Was camping in the local area and thought we'd find the nearby cache before sunset. Wasn't sure of the significance of GZ, until we looked back at the road from the fence and saw aspects of the historical area. Had a chat to a local, up the road a bit, and was provided with more insight into the history of the area. Very interesting! Tftc
Grabbed this one on the way home after a morning's birdwatching at "Ti Willa" with a BMBO group.
Just as I had at the Blackman/Merrick Private Cemetery, I overshot the mark here and once again had to do a u-turn to get back to GZ ... just as well the roads around here are pretty quiet. No problems once I got to the right spot, though, and the cache was quickly brought to hand.
Thanks for this cache Joshwa27 and for giving us the story of this interesting place.

A quick stop during my caching in the Blue Mountains! I really like the whole area here a bit further away from the busy Katoomba. Had some really asome views today and been to a lot of locations I had not been before!

I drove to the Blue Mountains for a long weekend of canyoning and walking and sought out some of the caches along the way. This cache was a straightforward finds being on the coordinates. What an interesting piece of history! Thank you Joshwa27 for installing and maintaining this cache.
Found at 1:27:00 PM:
We came down from the Darling Causeway on our way to Hassans Walls and stopped at this one. A quick and easy find.
Thanks Joshwa27

Collitts Inn used to be a favourite destination for our family's special occasions, but since it closed as a restaurant, we hadn't been this way. We had a pleasant drive down from Mt Victoria, remembering once cycling the same route (quite a scary experience) We made a quick find and continued on our way. TFTC JOSHWA
As Mt York campsite was full of climbers we headed down the hill to find a camp around here and collected the cache on the next day. Thanks.
Braced for a tricky one but this one was located quickly and easily. Love the camo. TFTC.
A quick easy find... Our fifth for the afternoon!
Signed log, left some booty and replaced the cache...

the rain had started as we parked way to far away from the cache and ended up walking down to it, just a drizzle luckily. the Maremma's across the road were not so impressed with our being there but were content to bark and watch while we wandered down to the cache.

Must take better notes next time. Memory isn't the best on this one. Must take more photos as I go.
We had decided that we would pick up some more JOSHWA27 caches from our list of completed puzzles. We still have a lot to work out but it is fun researching the answers. We also have some traditional caches on the list for the day. Thank you for your contribution to the caching world.
Bit of a walk fr9m the inns car park... but a quick geab on a easter cache hunt... tftc
TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Funny, I never noticed this place last time I was here. I had ridden down the trail from Mt York, and was expecting to find a cache at the other pub up the road. Still...TFTC
Out and about with the Whitemushroom, no problem finding the cache, good coords helped.
Thank you for the cache and history lesson.
Thank you for the cache and history lesson.
A short explore with rogerw3 at Mt Victoria of the Ross and Forgotten caves tracks left time for a short drive to Hartley Vale.
For the past days the 'mushroom has been fascinated with the CO (Joshwa27) caches and the history that has been generously provided ... as it is for this cache.
Not quite a drive by, but certainly a drive up to, seek, find, log.

The coords were perfect 4 me. Had no idea it was a guest house thing. Nice and easy was the find. Tftc
A really quick and easy find as it was out in the open. Returned the cache to its proper hiding spot. Cache and log in good shape. Found with clm2760. Tftc

After finding the caches at Hassans Wall, we came back for this one. My car GPS wanted to go an interesting route, but I ignored it and went the direct way.
The cache was a quick find.
We saw a historical marker sign just down the road, indicating aboriginal axe sharpening grooves, but couldn't see anything that matched that description.
Thanks

A quick find while driving around the area. A spot I have driven past many times. Thanks for the history.

We are spending a week in the Lithgow area for the September School holidays, staying at the Lithgow Caravan Park. This was our 6th find of the day, 35th find of the holiday.
Well this one gave us a bit of trouble. We knew it was near the Collitts Inn as it showed up on the laptop geomap but, as it had been published AFTER we had generated our pocket queries prior to our holiday departure, it did not show up on any of our 3 GPSr's. So the only solution was to fire up the laptop (roadside), find a wireless internet signal, and download the required GPX files to load into one of our GPSr's. (Unfortunately we didn't have a smartphone).
Initially had heaps of trouble getting an internet connection , I pity the locals around here, but finally got a slow connection and downloaded the required file. A quick USB upload into the GPSr and we were in business. A bit of roadside fun that took us about half an hour to sort out. Luckily I had all of the hardware in the geomobile. The things we do in the name of geocaching.
Anyway, after all that we finally moved the short distance to GZ for a super quick find. Swapped a small "Hello Kitty" figurine for a smiley badge and a coloured dice. Also took a few photos of the nice old Collitts Inn building. So pleased it didn't all end with a DNF.
Thanks Joshwa27 for the new cache, and the little bit of roadside fun

This was the last of five caches I found today while with the WaywardWoman. We did twelve in total, but the rest I had already previously logged. I did the CO's nearby cemetery cache only last weekend, and then this cache was published only a day or so later. Doesn't that always happen? We were in the area today, so we decided to detour to log this. It was a nice easy find. Thanks
#3266- This was my last of ten caches I did with bikerbuddy today, while on a round trip from home in Springwood to Lithgow and back. It was a nice easy one and luckily the road work gave us no grief. I thought more people had signed the log than just one, but perhaps I was mistaken. Thanks
