A nice park to stop and let the kids burn some energy... unfortunately a dnf after a Good search in the area
After seeing the recent DNF's earlier in the week I messaged the CO and got the go-ahead to place a new cache if I couldn't find this cache. When visiting today I couldn't find the cache so I have replaced it with a new container.
Thanks for bringing me to this very cool location - autumn leaves are still in abundance here

Had a good look here but with no hint, we could only look in the obvious places.

No luck here. The GPS seemed to point to one area and I searched all around it checking the usual suspects. Then widened the search to nearby places. Either its gone or I disengaged the caching brain at this one.
The Central North Island, Day 5: National Park - Hamilton - Auckland
It’s Christmas Day, and the end of this incredible journey through the North Island. Today’s weather was quite a mixed bag with some rain, some sun and some wind. This didn’t dampen the mood though, as we drive North through King Country and Waikato to get a sampling of the history of the region. A very productive day throughout, despite the weather, and a great Christmas Day!
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Dropped by here as a man and his dog were passing through. Lingered around while admiring the gateway for a bit before starting to inspect the vicinity. Found it at the usual spot, so TFTC!

Been too long since I've last come back to my home town. Over from Aussie for a two week holiday and took my son down to the river to enjoy our ice creams. Checked to see if there were any caches near by .. couldn't get the one closer to the river as there was a car parked near by so decided we'll just do this one. My son is four years old and he kept saying, "where are you geocache?" As this is starting to become a hobby of his now (looking for caches). Didn't take us long to find. TFTC... brought back memories as we use to swim down here as kids.
(I did not sign the cache as I didn't have a pen on me, but I do have photos of proof of finding the cache.. please let me know if this is exceptable as I can go back and sign it if needed)

Beautiful day and the cherry blossoms are in full bloom... found log and signed... thanks for bringing us here
Alm quite today, had to wait a whike for a car to move on. Mission accomplished, this one is a wrap. Thanks for the cache from Blenheim Bear!

After starting out early this morning, heading towards Hamilton for a hopeful caching weekend and decided to get a few caches on the way. This was the second of the day the sun was just coming up. The weather was very foggy quite dangerous driving, but wanting to get caches so kept going, as i approached gz, i knew exactly where i needed to park the car without looking at the gps, turns out i was correct. Quick easy find at gz today, easily found without a hint happy to sign the log, replaced exactly where i found it, thanks for the cache.
Heading towards the next one, keeping the fingers crossed for a great easter weekend. Happy Easter to everyone.

On the road for our first venture into the North Island with our little caravan to explore this part of the country. It is not a caching expedition as such, but we do manage to stop for one or two . We’ve been on the road now for 36 days since arriving in Wellington and are now on stage 2 of our trip – ‘The Crossing’ – from the East coast to the West coast. We arrived in New Plymouth, via the Forgotten World Highway from Tauramanu, Rotorua, and Whakatane. Stage 1 was the East Coast, Gisborne, Mahia, Wairoa, Napier, Cape Kidnappers, the Wairarapa, Cape Turnagain and Cape Palliser. We’ve had a variety of weathers, but mostly ‘good’, although a few days have been a bit , Hola was a somewhat of a ‘no show’, thank goodness. We have already seen and discovered lots of interesting things about our country that are new to us. Our travels lead us to your cache, as we travelled across the island, many thanks, monkis, for bringing us here. We’ve had great fun so far and look forward to finding a couple more caches as we travel on our way. TFTC.
Found this one in the evening after the rain stopped. The local rugby team trains actually. We say TFTC and greetings from Germany.
Michaelteacher had found this last year around April. Came by on our road trip to pick this up and reduce the difference in out number of finds Feels weird signing the log without writing both our names! Tftc!

Thanks it has started raining again I am getting a bit sick of it. Out walking around collecting cache.
Out this way on our journey home from Waihi to Upper Hutt. Taumarunui marks about the half way point on our trip (four hours in, fours hours home from here) and with little DangerSAM in tow, and Gr33nslime having things to do around here, it seemed appropriate that we stop off on the way. Was nice to get out and explore the township as i had not had as much time around the place as Gr33nslime. So many little parks which makes me thing that there are a lot of caching opportunities around here waiting for a CO to take advantage of. We wanted to visit a nearby park and give DangerSAM some fresh air, so when Gr33nslime mentioned this park and the fact it was in a great area we ambled on down. The cache was easy to find in the end and in good condition. Nice simple one which was appreciated. DangerSAM was in agreeance we think. Thanks for the cache and for giving us the incentive to pop down here. Really nice little park and another corner of Taumarunui i would not have ventured into had the little extra nudge of a cache been there to motivate us.
Out visiting BeccaBrock and we decided to get a couple caches. Had an idea where this would be, so I suggested to mini BeccaBrock to have a look. I wasn't wrong
TFTC munkis, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 7 today, making this find #1638

3237 I was spending the day clearing the town of caches. Arrived at GZ and spotted a car down by the river. Decided to park down there as well and have some lunch. While having my sandwich I walked up to GZ to do a visual. Then it was back to my car for coffee and another sandwich. Thankfully the car left soon after so I was able then go and grab the cache and sign. Thanks for my placement.
Oops I signed the log as 30th. I am a day behind.

I found this geocache in the company of Cats&Dragons, HKCB and Kyb3r. We were together thanks to Cats&Dragons who had organised another one of his infamous Geocaching ‘missions’. The goal was to pick up a bunch of T5 caches along the Wanganui river via speedboat. We met at his place after work on Friday night and headed out into the night taking the kind of detours only an overachieving Geocacher can appreciate on our way to Tamaranui which is how we ended up here. We signed the log HOAC to save on space and as a reference to our crazy trip together. We did eventually get to Tamaranui at about 4am after Geocaching throughout the night. We pulled the car over, got maybe an hour and a half of uncomfortable, disrupted sleep, and then set off again to meet with six other Geocachers from Hamilton and Auckland who were joining us on the boat trip. It was certainly a memorable trip.
Found at about 4am, our second to last find before grabbing some much needed sleep.

This has been a trip that has been planned fro a few weeks with the prime objective to Jet Boat down the Wanganui River fromTaumarnui to Pipiriki the following day, but firstly we had to get there. On this trip we were heading to Mt Damper, through to "The Forgotten Highway" before heading back up to Taumarnui to clean that area out.
So setting off after work in the company of HKCB, iammrwalker and Kyb3r we headed down this way to eventually make it cross country before thinking about a bit of sleep. Signed the log as HOAC to save valuable space in the logbook
Spirits were high, concersation rediculious and plans made for future trips. By now on this trip we were deffinatly on our own and the place was all ours (it would be hours before we saw another car, and infact we only saw 3 vehicles between turning off SH3 and when we finally made it sleep time at 4.30am).
Nice quick find here although it seemed that some other was also considering sleeping in the car. Its now 4.00am and we have arrived in Taumarunui so just a chance to collect a few caches then some sleep. so far driving 300kms and been awake for 23 hours at this point.
A big thanks to all the CO's who have placed and maintained the caches in the more remote parts of New Zealand.
Thanks for the placement, Thanks for the cache

We had planned a trip a few weeks ago to Jet Boat down the Whanganui River, something that had been on my to do list for a few years now, and the time had now come to head down to Taumarunui and jump on the water. However while discussing this with C&D we decided to throw in a side mission and try and locate a few caches along the Northern end of the "Forgotten Highway" including Mt. Damper Falls and finishing with a clean out of Taumarunui the night before because as C&D constantly reminds us "sleep is for the weak!".
So we set off at 5.30pm Friday night, with Iammrwalker and Kyb3r in tow heading to the first cache of the trip. This side mission turned out to be very successful with us completing everything we wanted with a few hours of darkness left to grab an hour or two of sleep before making our way to the Jet Boat. We signed the logbooks with HOAC a group caching name we use from time to time. A big thanks to all the CO's whose caches we found on this side mission.
Thanks for the hide.

Nice and easy. A few little friends guarding it but nothing I was scared of tftc
Yes, I agree that this is a beautiful spot. I quickly figured out where the cache was hiding.
This was our very first cache! our kids loved the thrill of looking for something they have never seen before, and when they eventually found it they were over the moon! we even had a picnic dinner to mask the hunting hehehe TFTC.
Was raining and gps not working well but managed to find it thanks! Good activity when visiting a new town!
Thanks. Enjoyed finding this one .... as always. Very quiet down this part of town today.
Staying the night in town so had a chance to explore some of the area and find a few caches. Quick find on a very hot day - tftc
Without reading the page or looking at the coordinates properly, i started the search in all regular obvious places. But no luck. Then i realized that iam a few meters away.. Oh ok.. corrected myself and headed to the right spot to find the cache lying right there under a small stone. tftc.
I don't think that people should place caches without a clue and/or description of the container UNLESS it's a multi or mystery cache. This is not a mystery or multi cache so I personally think it should have a hint and/or at least a basic description.
We arrived and searched for about five minutes but nothing. We were about to give up when I read a log that led to my dad finding it.
My Idea? Put this in your cache description. It will make it nicer for future cachers
Cache is a small pill container

Staying in the local area but needed to exercise Mob dog so a nice safe place for him. Mrs Mob found this after I got distracted by bigger things. Mob dog kept a look out. TFTC.
We continued our little drive around Taumarunui today signing off the odd cache here and there.
Cheers for the cache.

A delightful riverside park awaits beyond the gates
I didn't have to travel far beyond said gates to find this cache !!
Just like a cherry this cache has a stone

Stopped here for lunch then went for a stroll with the geodog. A bit soggy under foot in places but managed to get there and back without too much mess.
Had lunch in town and saw these 2 caches. The cherry trees on the way have been glorious so we wandered down. The trees here are different varieties and seem to mostly bloom later. Should be pretty for awhile. NINO TFTC
2.10pm found just as it started to rain. but the cherry trees were lovely. Tftc M&P

Heading up the line for a week of r&r and taking a couple of days to get to my destination, caching on the way. Despite visiting the nearby rugby club for many a 21st, I never new this beautiful spot existed. Cherry trees just starting to blossom. Must be amazing when they are all in flower. Quick find. Tftc
Been here before for another cache a while ago now, lovely area they were setting up for something, but managed to be stealthy and sign the log. Tftc
Replaced cache container and added new waterproof logbook so should be good to go for quite a while
One muggle around who asked if we were there to look at the ducks on the rugby field, to which we confidently said Yes. TFTC
First find in Taumarunui while down here to do the Forgotten World Adventure. TFTC
Awesome quick find with the family well done. Log is full so we added a signed paper for our proof
Easy find. Added extra waterproof sheet to log & stapled all together including last log on supermarket docket. Nice spot. TFTC
I haven't yet managed to get over the change logbook due to health issues but it is on my list of ones to do hopefully next week!
Time to leave Ohakune in the direction of Auckland. After getting gas I decided to take a detour to collect this one. TFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... A cache-hunting road trip into the King Country. The day started out bright and sunny, but the dark clouds rolled in as soon as we crossed over the hills on Highway 41...
A quick find on this one... Gap parked a few metres away from it. The coordinates were accurate enough for me to say where the cache would be while still seated in the car... And I was right. TFTC.
