On my way to the blue mountains for a midweek caching trip. Only a few caches on the way. Then in the Mountains was all over the place between Lawson and Lithgow. Well last minute change after all those puzzles solved last night, I also had to detour via Portland.TFTC Wilbert67
This one took me a bit ..... Had all the answers, and still, it didn't add up.....and then boom it hit me what I was doing wrong Jumped in the car and went straight to it TFTC
Find# 11409Nice easy find.We are in town for business. However, we have a free day to create some "Smileys".TFTC Joshwa27 27 June 2024
Found it on a quick trip up to Lithgow and back from Melbourneish to attend a funeral here today.Stayed in Bathurst overnight which gave Mrs Riddell a chance to work out some Puzzles in Lithgow as we would have about an hours opportunity to grab some caches before the service. The puzzle was straightforward but Mrs Riddells heart sank when she arrived and noted the hint. However, she was much relieved after having a quick look around and easily recognized the well hidden and camoed log container. Thanks for the great history lesson and location. We had a lovely time walking around in the sunshine examining what went on here.TFTC
#4119 Found after completing a nearly AL. Beautiful place and the cache was is good order. TFTC

Came up with some coords but couldn't get it to work in the checker.... independently, Rama497 also came up with Coords (the same ones) and still no go.
He contacted CO - got correct ones - although nothing of that makes any sence to us how they arrived at that - but still couldn't find the cache.

Up in Lithgow for a family holiday.
We solved the puzzle, but could not get the checker to give a green light.
Redid the puzzle same answers.
Contacted a previous finder to confirm the coordinates we worked out. They are the same. Still checker no green light.
Contacted the CO, who gave us new coordinates, these worked in the checker, but don’t know how he arrived at them.
Went searching today at both locations, but unable to find anything.
This cache is all very strange. ️️️
Maybe this needs some fixing up??????

I solved the puzzle quite a while ago while bored during covid lockdown in Melbourne. Today was the day to find the cache. Lithgow is a very interesting place, with lots of history and some wonderful buildings. The cache was found 11 meters from where my GPS suggested it should be.

Over the past, I managed to solve all of Joshwa27 puzzle caches, and this weekend a start was made to turn some of those caches into smileys. Teaming up with Meritonnn, GGCoconut and Team Canary for a weekend of geocaching in Bathurst.
Driving up to Bathurst, a quick stop in Lithgow for this cache in a familiair area. After a quick search the cache was found.
Thanks for the many hours of puzzle joy!

School holidays are over and time to do some caching!
Heading Mudgee/Dubbo areas looking to find some.
Thanks to the owners for the hides we find on our trip.
A guess of the type lead Mrs A to find the cache.
We love the "History of..." series.
We found log log saturated but we had a spare clip loc and log which we left. Old log is still in the cache.

After a long search I abandoned and focused on the nearby AL.
I will be back some time to collect this, however today this eluded me completely.

We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Bathurst for a 9 day holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback Camper Trailer at the Bathurst NRMA Big4 Caravan Park, and plan to collect some caches & Adventure Labs in the Bathurst and surrounding areas. Stopped off in Lithgow, on our way to Bathurst, to collect a few caches and to have a go at the new Adventure Lab at Blast Furnace Park. This was the 2nd of 10 finds for the day (day 1).
The family's chief puzzle solver had solved this one before we left home, so we added it to todays Lithgow cache target list. Arrived at an interesting GZ and made a reasonably quick find, after a bit of scratching around amongst the rocks. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Thanks Joshwa27 for the puzzle & cache.

Was at the correct coords as owner claridied where i went wrong but moving every rock and other things i wasnt able to locate the cache this time. I will return
Really enjoying this series and yes the final hide was appropriate and satisfying TFTC
This was a bonus find for the day as we didn’t even know this place existed but were really pleased we made the accidental discovery. So I own my caching app just in case there’s something up here, and something was. We could see that the recent bush fires had crept over the dry grass and the nearby landscapes had also been scorched very very near to houses. When I saw where the final was and after having found plenty of this COs series, my eyes knew what to look for. So sneaky yet very appropriate.
Found today with thomo31, while on a cache hunt around Lithgow.
Took a while for the GPS to settle but in the end the container was located.
Thanks for the cache.

Found in the company of rogerW3 on a day trip to Lithgow. It took a while to find, but thankfully the area was quiet today so eventually figured out where it was hiding. Signed log and returned as found. I enjoyed looking around this area and went for a walk around the wetlands too. TFTC
Solved with the help of some friends to check my workings. Came past on the way the Parkes and made an easy find. SL and replaced. TFTC.
This is my second history lesson in Lithgow. I'm enjoying the series and will look for more when the opportunity arises.
After discovering my brewery info was wrong Genghicat and I returned the next morning for a quick find. Yesterday we thoroughly explored the nearby historical site, taking heaps of photos before retiring at out hotel. Yes we recomend the Courthouse Hotel. It has an excellent chef and rooms are quiet. Lithgow has turned out to be a lovely little town and the research needed for this cache made it that much more interesting. Cache is in good condition. Tftc
Our fourth day of caching through NSW had us driving the famous Mount Panorama Circuit before picking up some presolved puzzles and heading east of Bathurst for the Blue Mountains.
We couldn’t get this one to geocheck but took the chance anyway. All we can say is wow fantastic , great place to bring us to . We really enjoyed the look around as well as the ca he hide.
Thanks Joshwa27 for the placement.

I was in Lithgow for a meeting with my aunt's solicitor this morning and afterwards, took the opportunity to grab a couple of local caches before I headed onto Portland. This one, which I'd solved ages ago, took a bit longer to find than it should have ... partly because my phone's GPS was a bit jumpy here, but mostly because I didn't look closely enough when I first checked the spot where I eventually found the cache. Must say that the camo blends in really well here ... 'cause it doesn't always!
Thanks for compiling another interesting history cache Joshwa27. I'm must say I'm quite fond of them and have lots on my 'solved/unfound to do' list.

I really enjoyed solving this puzzle, Lithgow has an interesting history, much of which I was not aware. On our way through Lithgow to the Bells Line of Road I detoured to my calculated GZ, where there were a number of other people admiring historical offerings and taking selfies, but none were interested in my destination. I soon saw a familiar container and logged, thanks Joshwa27 for yet another historical puzzle and hide.
Sue did the research and enjoyed learning about Lithgow's history. Unfortunately, our coords weren't accepted by the checker. The location we had was historical and so we went searching. We looked around for a while, then Dan suggested a type of cache that would be fitting at a particular spot. And, yes we found the cache. TFTC
Up in the area for a meeting. Trodectus and I had solved this one previously despite geochecker saying we had the wrong co-ords, contacted previous finder who confirmed our results. Arrived GZ with Trodectus and after a short search had CIH. Log signed and returned. TFTC
Solved and found with Coybear2000. Knowing we'd be in Lithgow we'd looked at this puzzle and had a solution, but the geochecker didn't like it. We redid the puzzle but came up with the same answer. We looked at where our co-ords placed us and felt this could be a likely spot. We contacted the CO and a previous finder and were told our calculations were correct. Today we went for the find, it took a little while but we found it. TFTC.
Finally. After doing the homework over Christmas frazeydaze and I were thwarted in our attempt to grab the cache as the site was fenced off for construction purposes. Today with construction work finished and the site open to the public we found the cache which blends in well with its suroundings. The site which has ample parking, picnic facilities and history is an added attraction to Lithgow. Thanks for the history lesson and thanks for placing and maintaining the cache Joshwa27.
Noticed that the site was now open so returned to GZ this morning with oldmorty. Oh my gosh! This was going to take some time. With a lot of finger poking and a lot of sorting oldmorty came up trumps. Happy to tick this one off. TFTC Joshwa27
Thankfully the construction work has finished and GZ is now accessible. They've done a good job and we enjoyed exploring the place with the new signage. A sneaky hide that fitted in well with the surroundings. TFTC

Worked out co-ords but couldn't get geochecker to agree. Contacted CO for help, but in the meantime oldmorty and I visited our calculated co-ords. The area is surrounded by a cyclone fence and is now a constrution zone.
Worked out the puzzle, however, it's not possible to access the cache as the area is now a construction zone and fenced off to the public. It looks like it could remain this way for a considerable time
Nice hide Joshwa! Circles a few times and at last success! Never been here before but seen often enough! Thank you for the cache! : )
Staying in Lithgow for a few days and picking up some caches, but this one has eluded us. At the end of each day went back to have another look. After phoning a friend and knew what we were looking for could not still find it after 3 tries. will just keep it for another day. Great area of great significance.
Thanks joshwa27 for bringing us to this spot 3 times.

Found as part of a weekend away with Hoojar. We headed up towards Gulgong the first night and camped near the start/ end of TRLT (@ -5 degrees ). The next day we made it through some nice historic places and great rolling countryside to finish up at Sunny Corner after a feed in Bathurst. The next day a few more finds before we headed home. Plenty of roadkill spotted, not many cars and not too much trouble at each cache. Thanks to all those cache hiders .
The opportunity finally arose that Steeba and I both had a free weekend to go caching. We quickly settled upon the northern half of The Road Less Traveled series. We drove to Gulgong via Mudgee after work on Friday, camping just before midnight at the suggested TSR nearby.
Saturday we made our way via the caching trail, and the odd additional cache, to Bathurst for dinner, then back onto the trail to Sunny Corner where we again camped for the evening.
Sunday we turned our heads for home, via a few additional cache stops in Portland and Wallerawang.
A fantastic weekend away, with excellent country to be seen and company to be had. We enjoyed the caches that we found.
Thank you to all of the cache owners, and sorry for the boiler-plate logs!

Fitzy_1965 and I headed out for another day of caching in the Oberon-Lithgow area. Decided to pick up some out of the way caches and to fill in some gaps.
Fitzy mentioned the type of cache he thought would be good right here, but after
a bit of searching we were scratching our heads. He went off to check the coordinates while I kept searching. Eventually found the cache and it was the very thing Fitzy had mentioned. Log wet but still able to sign for now.

-14279. Found during a great days caching around the Oberon-Lithgow region today with minniek.
Fantastic winter's day out caching through the Oberon-Lithgow area today. This was the next find of the day. We were starting to run out of time so we targeted some of the neat Puzzles that we had pre-solved. This one took awhile, even though I'd predicted what to look for. Finally minniek came up with the goods. Signed the log, returned the cache, and we headed off to the next one.
Thanks Joshwa27 !!

Streak Day #1367 - First cache of the day starting our journey to Alice Springs for the Red Centre Experience with spy79 and dave8153
We arrived here and walked toward to the GZ then we start searched for the cache a little while but the army of ants attacked on us until Dolphia found the cache then we walked back to the car to get away from the angry ants with a wet weather in the late evening. TFTH
TFTC! Worked out the co-ords over lunch & off I went with the geo nephew & neice. With the 3 of us soon had CIH.

Our long planned road trip is underway! Life got in the way of our initial planned July departure, so we were happy to get away today, despite pretty awful weather. 13 degrees as we ascended the Bells Line of Road today - crazy considering we have just had two days of nearly 40 degrees not 200km away.
Orange, Parkes, Gundagai, Canberra and Batemans Bay are are on the itinerary, with a special cache planned for a special milestone soon.....
Tricky hide, fits in well at GZ very well indeed.... Great spot here, love this sort of place, pity about the barrier fencing everywhere. TFTC Joshwa27

I sure I had solved this one ages ago but it didn't have the updated co-ords on the cache page. I knew it finished here somewhere .......... So I sat in the air conditioned car and solved it again.
With the checker giving me the thumbs up, I headed to GZ.
It was a little more difficult to find than solve but I signed the log and returned it to where I found it.
Another great history lesson.

rogerw3 and I found this one thanks to the assistance of our friend phlphotos. We've visited GZ many times in the past on other geocaching business.
All was in good order with the container and log.
Thanks again to *JOSHWA27* for promoting the area's local history. It really adds a lot to our geocaching enjoyment.

Easy find as the container was exactly what I expected and with four of us looking it was soon in hand. TFTC and for bringing us to this very pleasant part of town.
Up in Lithgow at iron fest have a nerdy time. Back away don't make eye contact. I had come across the answers for a few puzzles and this was one of them. A couple of times around the monument then the find was made. Tftc tnln
When we walked up to this one, there really was only one hide style that fitted this spot, a quick circuit and it was an easy find. Interesting to see the scaffolding over the main building here.
Found with The Phantom on the way to make a start on the TRLT series. I enjoyed learning about Lithgow and visiting this interesting precinct. Thanks JOSHWA27.
We drove towards NSW bush lands once again where we visited the Dunedoo Bush Poetry Festival. We have solved many interesting mysteries in preparation of our tour which took us to many beautiful historical places.
We stayed in Bathurst overnight where we looked for a couple of caches also.
We weren't able to find a Clean Up
Australia geocaching event in the area which I think is quite a pity as we as nature loving geocachers should be an example to all the others people.
Thank you

Found with friend Mark from Lithgow. We are visiting from New Mexico in the US. It was nice to learn about Lithgow a little before our visit. Thank You!!
A frequent lunchtime stopping point to view that Gothic structure. And yet, an end of day meander around the Lithgow streets till the right entry was sighted.
This it seems set the way for the seek, with a wander afar, an adjustment, a circling, and an obvious GZ - of course, the 'mushroom might have looked at the Garmin!!!
And the seek may well have ended horribly but for the 'oh, seen that before' given the camo at the GZ.
A grateful logsheet signing - and a CO's interesting history story to go with it. TFTC *JOSHWA27*

On a caching trip with Phlphotos, we stopped here on the way to Newnes NP.

I had a quick look and saw the cache straight away.
