Reperio 10:37Day 2 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I travelled from Tarago, through to Bungendore and then on to Captains Flat. It was quite an eventful day, from finding a dog on a lonely country road, to having a brown snake slide up next to me while signing a cache, to having a police officer pull over and put his lights on for us as we were pulling road kill off the roadand of course, lots of geocaches found. A great day out full of geocaching and adventure. Gratias KittykatchAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Find # 10972We found the cache about 4m to the left of GZ as looking from the road. We've travelled to Canberra for the Capital GeoBash Mega event this Easter long weekend. We have parked our van at Capital Country Holiday Park for the next few nights and are looking forward to catching up with our old caching friends and meeting new friends.TFTC Kittykatch and GrimRaider 29 March 2024 14:52
Found after widening my circle a little, and ducking under. Thanks for the cache Kittykatch and GrimRaider
No luck on this one. The last finders mustve been amazing. Thanks for the fun!
Our last day in Bungendore and just a morning of caching planned. A lovely sunny, warm morning and heading along Lake Road.Log a little damp, but still OK.Total Caches Found 15550TFTC Kittykatch
Out here with two previous finders. This one is probably still in play, however the regrowrth is extremely thick and we just couldn't move enough of it to get access. Thanks anyway, Kittykatch!
Camping at the nearby show grounds gave us the opportunity to pick up a few.
Thank you for the hide!!
Thank you for the hide!!
Went for an afternoon drive, and walk, along the lake road. The lake was very picturesque, full as it now is, a grand expanse of water stretching to the foot of the windmill hills in the distance!
For years after moving to Canberra, with the lakebed dry, I believed lake George to be not a true lake, but akin to those salt "lakes" we have in South Australia. It's quite a dramatic change to see it now!
"Birds Away!": I did indeed see a lot of birds here - parakeets, fantails, magpies, a kite, even an eagle!
Thanks for the cache!

GPS was swirling around very erratically for this one, and there were a lot of potential hiding spots in the vicinity. Worked it out in the end, after working around in circles for 15 minutes.

What a quacking good find while driving along lake George today with Sophiescout and aussiepusckaks. TFTC
You are right about the birds. Of course I didn't bring binos or camera. Love the cache.
Beautiful early morning start along the lake. Cold and frosty made for good photo opportunities.

We had a most enjoyable day of caching from our base at Bungendore. The weather just perfect and the scenery so green and beautiful. Yours was one of the caches we targetted and found. Thanks to Kittykatch for arranging this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
TFTC! Mr6 was so thrilled to find a 50c coin in the container for swaps!
I saw the glint of a colour that I didn't expect in this spot and went to investigate, and sure enough, it was the cache. At previous stops I could here a low hum, but here is where I felt/heard this hum the loudest. I wonder what was making it?
With BomEm, on a Mtb/Hike caching run to Bungendore and Lake George.
Nice and easy find. Differenr type of container.

Out for a Saturday learner drive around lake George and found this fantastic cache and bringing us out this way! TFTC

When the lake fills up, bath time will be fun! A quick find with the geospouse all the while telling me “that’s the wrong way, it’s the other side of the road”.

Attending the Clear Water 2019 mega this Easter in Queanbeyan. Apologies for the generic log but we have found too many to compose individual logs. Many thanks to all the cache owners for their caches, which have been exceptional in their maintenance I have had only 1 dnf and that was only because I was not going to make a tree climb without seeing where the cache was. The vast majority of caches have had very good coordinates. Along with useful hints. TFTC
Another great day out with woolwood9 hunting containers.
SL - Stamped logs as TM/WW NZ or printed tm421/ ww9
Big thank you to the cache owners who made our trip fun!

Teamed up with The Rats to primarily find some of the power trails in ans around the ACT whilst also attending the Mega Event in Queanbeyan. In a couple of days we managed a few hundred finds. The landscape wasn't too bad and we enjoyed the various series placed out. TFTC!
Headed down to Queanbeyan for the Clear Waters Mega event over Easter with steeba. We set ourselves a goal of bolstering our find count by doing some of the numerous powertrails that dot the surrounding area.
Grabbed a few caches by night around Bungendore before heading up along Lake George where we found a campsite beside the lake for the night. Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches we found.

Left Port Macquarie heading south to the Mega event .
We are now back at Gundaroo Sports ground.
There are now 7 geocaching teams here. TMann from NZ had a quick stop here looking for a cache, so they spent some time here chatting
Decided to head towards Bungendore & up the side of Lake George. This was a wonderful drive, the cache containers were all so relevant to the hide name.
Thanks for placing this cache Kittykatch

Loved the cache containers along Lake Road. Quick find and sign with Unicorns. Thanks for the cache Kittykatch and GrimRaider .
We soon found this good fun cache once at Ground Zero. At least our trip down here to do some birding hasn’t been in vain! We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
I headed out with Kittykatch and Studette to find out what all this geocaching was about. We enjoyed a nice drive along the road and picked up a few caches. Then off to have a picnic near the lake. Lots of fun - should have joined up years ago.
Kittykatch offered to take me and Studdo out for a drive and to do some geocaching. It was more fun then we thought it might be. Will have to find time to find some more.
A great little country lane Drive.
Enjoyed finding these caches, seeing what view is around the next corner and all the different cammos.

After spending Christmas with family and being hampered by a sore foot, I was getting edgy about not caching in my holidays, and a little bored. So Joeylovestreasure and I concocted a plan to grab a few early morning caches along Lake George before the sun was above the yard arm (when beer becomes mandatory)! Great to catch up with an old friend and caching mentor from my first days of caching!
Unless otherwise noted, caches found in good condition and in accordance with any hints.
This cache: another neat container!
Thanks Kittykatch for the cache and the fun!

Final day in the Canberra area. Thank you to all the cache owners who spent time, energy and dollars placing and maintaining caches for us to find. Also please take a bow as your coords were in the most part really good.

Found whilst caching along the scenic lake road drive with MJ5. We both quaked up over this one. TFTC
Nice quick find as Touchstone7 and I did a few of the local caches. She'd already done this cache, so was having fun watch me try and find it.
Thanks for the cache KK and GR.

Found on a few days off work caching. Headed up after work last night for an early start. Thankyou for the cache
This cache is wicked! Went out for some night caches that were easy in this cold weather. Had fun TFTC
Quickly spotted the bird and was soon signing the log. Really enjoying this series and TFTC K and GR
TFTC. Picked up the Unite for Diabetes travel bug. This is the second of these Unite for Diabetes tags we have found. The first was in a cache that hadn’t been found for 4 years in Serbia. That cache took us hours to get to and find - this one was nice and easy!
Had a ball finding the caches!! Spotted this one as soon as we got out of the car. Nice and bright. Tftc
For my first time geocaching in Australia you have raised the bar very high for containers!!
Another "interesting container", Kittyhatch you must have had lots of fun searching for your containers?
Another amusing container, a bit in the open so we provided a little more cammo.
Caching our way home from the geomuster mega. We coukdnt resist an extra night on the road and a chance to do the lake series. Camping at the showgrounds provides a perfect jump off point for the series. On the way to this one playing a guessing game on what to expect. We both had this one but not quiet detailed enough. Cache on view as we drove up so did our best to camo it better. Picked up TB. Tftc
Heading home after working nearby. Put aside an hour to divert along lake Rd for a few caches.
Tftc! Added a trackable.
There is some clearing here, not sure if it is old. Hopefully it wont affect the cache.

I was planning on caching in Nowra on the way home from a weekend camping in Moruya, but the holiday traffic was horrendous so i found another way west.
