Reperio 10:41Day 2 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I travelled from Tarago, through to Bungendore and then on to Captains Flat. It was quite an eventful day, from finding a dog on a lonely country road, to having a brown snake slide up next to me while signing a cache, to having a police officer pull over and put his lights on for us as we were pulling road kill off the roadand of course, lots of geocaches found. A great day out full of geocaching and adventure. Gratias KittykatchAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
We found your cache today 29 March 2024 11:16am , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC Kittykatch
Find # 10971Nice quick find. We've travelled to Canberra for the Capital GeoBash Mega event this Easter long weekend. We have parked our van at Capital Country Holiday Park for the next few nights and are looking forward to catching up with our old caching friends and meeting new friends.TFTC Kittykatch and GrimRaider 29 March 2024 14:48
Our last day in Bungendore and just a morning of caching planned. A lovely sunny, warm morning and heading along Lake Road.Total Caches Found 15549TFTC Kittykatch
Out here with two previous finders - unfortunately after a long search we couldn't locate this one.
Camping at the nearby show grounds gave us the opportunity to pick up a few.
Thank you for the hide!!

TFTC.a nice quick find along the dirt road. So far so good and having fun finding the caches and wondering what we will find next. Thanks for the adventure.,
Went for an afternoon drive, and walk, along the lake road. The lake was very picturesque, full as it now is, a grand expanse of water stretching to the foot of the windmill hills in the distance!
For years after moving to Canberra, with the lakebed dry, I believed lake George to be not a true lake, but akin to those salt "lakes" we have in South Australia. It's quite a dramatic change to see it now!
Thanks for the cache!

It was, indeed, very windy. And I feel very lucky to have seen Lake George so full and at such close proximity.
Spent a bit of time making assumptions about what the cache would be like, which turned out to be very incorrect. Cache ended up being hidden in the first place I checked.

Cache has been replaced and moved to outside of gated area. Container is small. Hint has been updated
Spied the container quickly at GZ but there was no log inside, new one added but waterproofing will be required - TFTC
Didn't find the log but may have found the old cache container. Very awkward spot to access due to the waist high prickles and thistles. Thanks Kittykatch and GrimRaider
I found something that could have been the cache but there was no log in it.
The CO has confirmed it was the cache and is allowing me to log it as a find, thanks Kittykatch and GR

Found with Sophiescout and aussiepusckaks, that was a difficult hide due to the high grasses and thistles everywhere. After looking at GZ for quite a while we were about to give up until I spotted another answer to the hint a bit further on, after pushing past some more grasses and thistles. Cache was very wet and could not be read or written on, a photo has been added with proof of cache.
Found with Sophiescout and Jemalong and Family on a drive around the local area. TFTC
For some reason this cache wouldn't open on my phone, so have to log it from my dry couch after having changed into try pants and dry socks.
Wading through waist high, soggy and rather dense weeds managed to soak my jeans, socks and shoes with lovely rain water.. even more so than the cache that required sliding under a fence with one foot in the river...
While I was squatting to sign the log two cars went past, the second going into the next property. Whilst I was hiding well in said waist high weeds, I was rather conspicuous walking back to the car .... in a red jacket. Just then the car came out of the property again. Since I wasn't sure they were going to question me and my presence here I just went back into Bungendore.
Will have to come back to Lake Road as I couldn't go all the way up to the point as one of the farmers was moving their sheep along the road and, to be honest, with all the rain and the dense wet weeds it wasn't that much fun after a while.

Beautiful early morning start along the lake. Cold and frosty made for good photo opportunities.

Were a bit unsure if we were allowed to go in, as seemed to be on private property, but we ventured in and found it.
Found while out celebrating MrWindys birthday. Out caching with Kipple, CassandSof Roondis and MrWindy
Congratulations MrWindy on your 1000th cache
Congratulations MrWindy on your 1000th cache
Found 11:43 7/12/19 with Cassandsofia, Kipple, Roondis and TheTrueCornDogs. A name sake cache for my 1000th cache and on my birthday. Thank you Kittykatch for the cache and bringing me to this location.
I had a bit of an adventure getting here thanks to Mr Google. Ok, so I did egg the device on a bit because I saw that there were roads joining Federal Hwy to Lake Rd and thought "that must be a quicker way to get there." I turned off the highway quite early in order to get me onto a road that would safely get me to the other side. Initially the roads were good, lots of ups and downs, then dirt, and finally I got to a point that had a sign "Private Road". Being a good girl, even though I was half way to the lake, I decided to turn around and do the right thing. Yes it was the long way around and yes I should have listened to what Google told me in the first place.
I found the right approach and decided that I would stop for lunch at the first cache on Lake Rd with a view, and this was it. I sat looking out over the lake (or lack thereof), eating the pie I'd bought in Goulburn and raising the curiosity of a couple of locals. Very peaceful here today, not windy at all and therefor no spinning action noted on the turbines.
Lunch done, the locals had lost interest and I made my way to GZ. A fabulous location with clever cache camo. Thanks for bringing me here Kittykatch and GrimRaider.

Out and about again with Lpud for a day trip around Lake George. Love the view at this one. Gets a favourite from me. TFTC
Big stump... I walked around and over it quite a few times before got this one. Watched on by the horses. TFTC
Out for a Saturday learner Election Day drive around lake George and found our way here. What a beautiful part of the world. Met by the local horses and the view was amazing! TFTC
Currently travelling Australia .staying at Bungendore Showgrounds thought we'd come out and do some caching in the area .
thanks for the Cache

Repeat after me ... herself is a cat whisperer NOT a horse whisperer. By the time she had finished however she looked like the pied piper!
Attending the Clear Water 2019 mega this Easter in Queanbeyan. Apologies for the generic log but we have found too many to compose individual logs. Many thanks to all the cache owners for their caches, which have been exceptional in their maintenance I have had only 1 dnf and that was only because I was not going to make a tree climb without seeing where the cache was. The vast majority of caches have had very good coordinates. Along with useful hints. TFTC

Teamed up with The Rats to primarily find some of the power trails in ans around the ACT whilst also attending the Mega Event in Queanbeyan. In a couple of days we managed a few hundred finds. The landscape wasn't too bad and we enjoyed the various series placed out. TFTC!
Headed down to Queanbeyan for the Clear Waters Mega event over Easter with steeba. We set ourselves a goal of bolstering our find count by doing some of the numerous powertrails that dot the surrounding area.
Grabbed a few caches by night around Bungendore before heading up along Lake George where we found a campsite beside the lake for the night. Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches we found.

After a nice lunch in Sutton we are back on the road in search of more smilies.
Wow, this is a big stump, neat hide.

Left Port Macquarie heading south to the Mega event .
We are now back at Gundaroo Sports ground.
There are now 7 geocaching teams here. TMann from NZ had a quick stop here looking for a cache, so they spent some time here chatting
Decided to head towards Bungendore & up the side of Lake George. This was a wonderful drive, the cache containers were all so relevant to the hide name.
Thanks for placing this cache Kittykatch

Our first time standing on Lake George. Such a magnificent spot. Quick find and sign with Unicorns. Thanks for the cache Kittykatch and GrimRaider .
This was a nice quick find once at Ground Zero. So sad to see no water as we were hoping this was going to be a good birding spot. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
A great little country lane Drive.
Enjoyed finding these caches, seeing what view is around the next corner and all the different cammos.

After spending Christmas with family and being hampered by a sore foot, I was getting edgy about not caching in my holidays, and a little bored. So Joeylovestreasure and I concocted a plan to grab a few early morning caches along Lake George before the sun was above the yard arm (when beer becomes mandatory)! Great to catch up with an old friend and caching mentor from my first days of caching!
Unless otherwise noted, caches found in good condition and in accordance with any hints.
This cache: walked to cache, quickly found with easy access. FP for cute idea
Thanks Kittykatch for the cache and the fun!

Easily accessible, much appreciated but wishing the wind would blow away the smell.
Final day in the Canberra area. Thank you to all the cache owners who spent time, energy and dollars placing and maintaining caches for us to find. Also please take a bow as your coords were in the most part really good.
Slowly wondering north after the Parkville Mega. Thank you, Kittykatch for placing this cache it certainly added to the enjoyment of our trip. 3966. TFTC TNLN. We really enjoyed this trail, took many photographs and had the most pleasant day. We are not disappointed most logs are cut and paste. please don't be offended as we truly enjoyed the trail.

Found whilst caching along the scenic lake road drive with MJ5. It was windy but the sun was out so overall a pleasant day. TFTC
Nice quick find as Touchstone7 and I did a few of the local caches. She'd already done this cache, so was having fun watch me try and find it.
Thanks for the cache KK and GR.

Found on a few days off work caching. Headed up after work last night for an early start. Thankyou for the cache
Went out for some night caches that were easy in this cold weather. Had fun TFTC
I was here a year or two back and failed to recover the clearly visible cache, after a scary encounter with a brown snake which encouraged me to retreat. No such problem today as I think all dutiful snakes were tucked up in their holes on a cold and frosty morning. TFTC Kittykatch and GrimRaider.
For a moment thought the cache was missing from its hide but then felt like a complete dill because it was attached. At first was a bit trepidatious as the cache is in private land but my desire to find it overcame my law abiding nature. TFTC.
Tried to write in log but pen ran out. Will try and get back with working pen. The kids are loving this series!!
We did this one on the return trip to break up the drive. Mr Geo was busy taking in the scenery with one eye while I signed the log. Loved the series and am glad you brought us out here KK. Kutgw
Do we have to go through the gate, Silvereyes, there are cattle in the paddock? The cache was found in a wonderful old piece of history.
Sedentary cattle began to show a bit of interest in us and started rising to their feet! Oh oh - TravelGran had no form of defence except me and my trusty stick. She can sure put on a turn of speed when heading for safety - ha ha!
Caching our way home from the geomuster mega. We coukdnt resist an extra night on the road and a chance to do the lake series. Camping at the showgrounds provides a perfect jump off point for the series. On the way to this one playing a guessing game on what to expect. Neither of us guessed this one. Very apt though. We had slight concern about entering property / lake but figured it must be all ok. Kangaroos and cows wondering what was going on. Tftc
Heading home after working nearby. Put aside an hour to divert along lake Rd for a few caches.
I was planning on caching in Nowra on the way home from a weekend camping in Moruya, but the holiday traffic was horrendous so i found another way west.
I wsant sure ifi was allowed to cross the fence line, but after going through past logs with no mention of problems i used the gate.
Spotted a lizard in the smaller log, but i kept my eyes open for the snake as i quickly found the cache.
Thanks for the cache
