After playing Veterans Golf at Wilmington , had some daylight hours left so headed towards Carrieton and grab caches along the way. Very interesting drive around the back roads, also with some nice views. TFTC
Mr Tardis was out for an adventure motorbike ride through the quiet back roads north of Orroroo. I found this one in the first place I looked - don't you just love it when that happens? When I saw that container I knew it was a Tk2 cache.Some more interesting lost history - so many towns that came and went.Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Tk2.
Away for the June Long Weekend with TheWhiteDogGang.We based ourselves at Orroroo and travelled far and wide over 4 days. We managed 1,500 kms during our travels.We managed to find some really old caches, one from 2001, and even managed to get all 9 terrain ratings. Not bad for 2 old farts with no coordination.The weather was dry if not cold on occasions.A good way to spend 4 days.Cache found easily.TFTC
#5259 Decided to leave our campsite at Horseshoe for the day and explore the wider area and head north to see the spectacular scenery that is the Flinders Ranges, one of our favourite areas.Started the day with this one which was a nice quick find in this all but deserted town. TFTC Tk2.

Having been in Perth to visit family our stay has come to an end and we are on our way to Broken Hill for the Mundi Mundi Bash.
Staying in Orroroo for a few days. Today we headed up towards Carrieton and surrounds. On arrival in Carrieton we got a message from our Geobuddies Iluvtrekking and richlink that they were only 15k's away themselves heading down from Hawker. Great to stop and chat to them but boy it was freezing at 9degrees and sadly it was too early for the pub to be open. So we grabbed a couple of caches with them before they continued South and we went off to explore.
Turned out we came across an old cache from 2001 and also did a marvellous 4x4 track for a 1/5 cache. Views were a bit cloudy but still amazing fun.
A great day out and about.

We stayed nearby, camping for the weekend. Stopped here on our way out. Thanks for the cache TK2. Found it good condition.
A quick find as we tore through the area today. Great to be out and about in some of the more remote areas of the Mid-North, finding the odd geocache here and there.

8560 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1050. Off to drive through this part of SA. Really enjoyed the drive to here with the damp roads so no dust and the rolling hills in the distance. A FP from us.SL Tnx Tk2 and no cactus either.

Found with e.gregory1 as we traveled around Hawker, Cradock, Carrieton, Hammond and Bruce, finding great caches in isolated and interesting places along the way, all during the June Long Weekend Event. Thanks for the cache Tk2!

Had a friend who was in the area drop by and have a look. Container has been replaced and a new logbook as well.
Dirty great dead roo! Added sandwich bag for additional protection but needs new container.
Found the remnants of the container and book laying in the open. All we had was a ziplock bag to put in. Placed where I think it came from.

A truly spectacular days drive through here, all new to me. great colours, probably enhanced by the very dry conditions. Fairly easy find, thanks Tk2
