Cache check - replaced old logsheet with a new one

10-Sep-23
We are on another short (three day) caching holiday in North Western Sydney, staying for two nights in a park cabin at the Ingenia Holidays Avina BIG4 Holiday Park at Vineyard. Hoping to collect some previously solved Mystery/Puzzle caches, complete some Adventure Labs, and accumulate enough cache finds for this month’s "Wheel of Challenges" easy & hard souvenir chase. Photos will be uploaded to some (most) logs on our return to home base.

Today (day 2) we explored the areas around Wilberforce, Ebenezer, and Sackville. Completed a five stage Adventure Lab, as well as a couple of random Adventure Lab stages (waypoints), and collected numerous Traditional caches, a previously solved Mystery/Puzzle cache, a MultiCache, and a Virtual cache. This was the 26th of 31 finds for the day (day 2), and 46th find of the holiday.

Backtracking along Tizzana Road we turned off into The Ridgeway and drove down to this cache, and it was another nice quick find on arrival at GZ. Cache container was full of water and the log was saturated & unsignable (we tried, but not possible even with our trusty PowerTank pen), so we took a photo of it instead. TNLN, and then replaced as found. TFTC teamMerlin.

I spotted this one after a short search but the logbook is rather wet. Not really sure how though since it's hidden in a spot that's mostly out of the rain.

Today is HappyTakahe's birthday and she wanted to go geocaching, so we are out and about to try and get some more of the caches close by us in our LGA, starting to run out so hopefully this lockdown ends soon.
We struggled with signal and took a few minutes to locate the right spot for this one. TFTC

Nicely placed. A very quiet road. However, a local was driving his quadbike around with his two young daughters. Being a friendly country bloke, he drove over to see if we had broken down. No, we were just geocaching. The usual conversation explaining geocaching ensued. TFTC

Streak day 60.
Below is a blurb about us.
We are trying to get a badge from Project-GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to
get badges for adding photos to our found logs.
We Started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full time (living in a caravan), caching fits in well with this lifestyle.
It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone.
When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there to get the caches we want.

After attending the New Year's day event at the Tizzana Vineyard I wanted to do some more caches whilst slowly driving back home.
Many of the finds were related to the Ebenezer GeoQuest series, but as I did not manage to visit all of the 25 caches, I definitely will need to comeback for more geocaching in this beautiful area.

A dead end street with two caches. After a DNF at 'Wood 2nd - Bloodwood' , I was more successful with this cache. An easy find and after logging duties I moved on to the next one.

Fourth stop on my caching run before the Christmas event at the winery this afternoon.
Everything is so green here, looks very appealing!
A friendly horse greeted me and watched me head into the scrub where I followed the GPS and soon had CIH. Signed the log and headed off towards the event.
Time for one more? There was but it didn't work out very successfully.

Another day OCW marj01. After a very early start from the eastern subs we arrived at Ebenezer at first light to commence the day. During the course of the day we visited 69 trads, 4 multis, 2 puzzle and 2 letterbox caches. With only a handfull of dnfs it was a successfull day, with the majority of the caches being found in a reasonably short time. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and maintaining their caches and providing us with a fun day. Great views from here. Cheers oldmorty.

#4481 (7 of 9 today)

For the first time in a while I actually needed to make a find today in order to meet my self-imposed goal of five finds per calendar day by the end of 2017 (ie one for each year in which I've cached). There are only two dates left both next month) for me to meet that goal. But as usual I've been hitting these dates harder than necessary - ie why find one when more than five are possible?

So today I was looking at a minimum of 6 finds today north of Windsor, and before I headed for home had grabbed nine (with no DNFs - bargain). I did leave a few for another day, though.

Quick find here. The iPhone wanted me closer to the road, but as I walked from my parking spot over the road I saw something that looked cache-like.
And it was!

Completed signing duties and replaced.

While the others waited in the car again, I headed on over to GZ. This time the GPSr was not behaving nicely, and kept pointing me back towards the road. I suspect it was the batteries which were running a bit low -- this unit tends to get a dodgy compass when the batteries are nearly flat.

Therefore, I had to rely a bit more on geosenses and sharp looking, following the clue from place to place. Eventually, I spotted something that looked like it could mark the spot. Closer inspection revealed the container waiting to be found.

I signed the log and added one of my signature small wire dog. Then everything went back to where I had found it and I could dash back to the car so we could head on over to the meet-and-greet even at the winery.

A big day around Sackville collecting 6xGC and 18xGCA caches.
I've been to this one before but probably didn't log the DNF as I was in a rush that day. Had a bit more time today and found the cache more than 10m from where the iPhone wanted me but in a fairly obvious spot.

Enjoying my day in the area picking up some more caches. I drove to GZ. The paddocks nearby are beautiful and green. My GPS pointed me in one direction. I looked around for a while, then a bit further back I spotted a likely place. Soon had my hand on the cache. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC

Today's in such beautiful weather I took a tour from Wilberforce to Ebenezer and took the ferry across the Hawkesbury back to Tizzana Road. I was able to look at old buildings along the tracks, taking a nice busch walk to enjoy the beautiful view of the river.
This tour was very nice and I have enjoyed myself very much

Well I had the cache in hand before the GPSr could tell me I was close. Signed the log an replaced. Changed the camo slightly so it looked less like a purposely placed pile of rocks from the road. I took the long way to Windsor from the Central Coast today in order to visit Wisemans Ferry (to grab one of the 3 remaining caches I need to complete my "finds by hidden date" grid) and to explore the back blocks of Ebenezer.

A straightforward find here, so thanls team Merlin ... the cache name says it all, though there are plenty to choose from. Fortunately my phone GPS was in a cooperative mood and pointed me in the direction, more or less, of the right spot ... and then geo-sense did the rest.

A nice and simple cache after finishing that mammoth cache series nearby. While the coordinates were a tad bit off, the name of the cache easily indicated the likely place to find it.
Left the trackable as I had already found it last year.
Thanks for the cache.

The last time Toriaz and I were in this area a few weeks ago we somehow missed seeing this cache on our map. We came out this way today to get Rainbow Spirit's cache, Wombat Rock, along the Colo River, so we decided to find this one along with a few others Toriaz hadn't found. We were having trouble finding anything, so we checked some previous logs. I noticed the WaywardWoman had written a longer log so I read that. She suggested she had found the cache about 10 metres from where her GPS wanted her to look, so I walked to a likely feature about 10 metres away and found it immediately. Thanks

After resting in the car while I found some caches he had already found, bikerbuddy had to get out and help search for this one. And he was the one who eventually made the find for us, when we realised the coordinates could be about 10m out.

I picked up one of the TB clues for the Evil Nemesis cache at the last cache, and dropped it into this one after recording the clue.

Thanks Smile

#3372- After two absolutely gorgeous sun-shiney, blue-skyed days to end 2015 and start 2016, the threat of rain for the next five days after this was enough for me to be able to convince the boys to come for a drive (and my unterior motive, to pick up a few caches on the way).
The criteria was- no micros! that somewhat cuts it down especially when you are already driving long distances to find a few caches in one area. I decided that it had been too long since we'd been out to Tizzana area and so the five in the area footed the bill nicely.
This was a quick find in an obvious spot that NickoHeap eyed as we pulled up, even though today, our GPS had us about 10 m away. We had just got back in the car when a local farmer mowing his lawn stopped to check that we were ok- I told him we were just looking at some information before we moved on- he bid goodbye and we were both on our way. Thanks team Merlin.

TFTC log to follow

Heading out for the day with the family in toe and noticed a new cache not too far just released.
So we went off hoping that the cache was still not found.

We put the coordinates into the GPS and drove to the indicated GZ.
Parking close by we were on foot to approach the cache Between a Rock and a Hard Place. The dilemma was soon solved as this was a quick find finding the cache in the first hide spot which we looked in and with cache in hand I signed the log and very happy to claim FTF.
Cache log and container in excellent condition.
With a FTF under our belt it was time to continue the day and log the cache find when we return as there is no mobile service in this location.
